VERNA L. CALDWELL

TYRONE, Okla. -- Verna L. Caldwell, 47, Tyrone, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 14, 1954, to Vernie A. and Lorraine (Carr) Stebens in Beaver, Okla.

She grew up in Liberal and attended Liberal schools.

She had worked for various businesses in Liberal, and most recently at Love's in Hooker, Okla.

Survivors include her husband, Harold R. Caldwell, Tyrone; one daughter, Tura Stebens Mariscal and husband, Jesus, Tyrone; one step-daughter, Taleia Baeza, Tyrone; two brothers, Delbert Stebens and wife, Connie, and Kenny Stebens and wife, Terri, all of Liberal; one sister, Linda Sealey, Liberal; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the South Church of God in Liberal with the Rev. David Helmig presiding.

Cremation will follow funeral services.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8-11 a.m. Friday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

WILMA TRUHLAR

BEAVER, Okla. -- Wilma Truhlar, 63, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.

She was born Oct. 19, 1937, to Nimrod and Eula Pearl (Hutson) Gillaspie in Texas County, Okla.

She married Charles Truhlar Jan. 19, 1957, in Clayton, N.M. He died in 1979.

Survivors include her mother, Eula Pearl Thomas of Elkhart; one daughter, Rhonda Truhlar, Liberal; one son, Kim Truhlar, Beaver; four brothers, Joe Gillaspie, Roselle, Don Gillaspie, Gatesville, Texas, Robert Gillaspie, Elkhart, and Morris Gillaspie, Douglas; three sisters, Virginia Bracken, Ft. Worth, Texas, Belva McBee, Tyrone, Okla., and Betty Duval, Keyes, Okla.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beaver First Christian Church in Beaver, with Mike Crow presiding.

Burial will be at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver County, under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

EARL VICTOR CARRIER

FORGAN, Okla. -- Earl Victor Carrier, 94, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2001, at the Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Okla.

He was born Nov. 25, 1906, to Elmer and Margaret (Glendenning) Carrier in Indian Territory in Oklahoma.

He married Barbara (Crow) Kincaide March 10, 1994, in Perryton, Texas. She survives.

He was a prominent rancher in Beaver County.

He served with the United States Army during World War I.

Other survivors include two step-daughters, Sheila Morris, and Joy Bridwell, both of Forgan; and five step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Forgan Christian Church in Forgan, with Jim Sutherland presiding.

Burial will be at the Knowles Cemetery in Knowles under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

BERT E. MCCLURE

TURPIN, Okla. -- Bert E. McClure, 58, Turpin, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

He was born May 3, 1943, to Bert and Berttie E. (Bryley) McClure in Brush, Colo.

He married LaDonna D. Harvey Nov. 9, 1963, in Dalhart, Texas. She survives.

He graduated from Cal Farley Boy's Ranch High School in Amarillo, Texas.

He served his country in the United States Army.

He drove a truck for many years and was manager of Choice's Station in Dalhart.

He moved from Pampa, Texas, to Turpin in 1982.

He was a member of the VFW Lane Day Post No. 3166 in Liberal.

His hobbies included going to auctions, garage sales and fishing.

Other survivors include three sons, Larry McClure and wife, Melissa, and Bert Wade McClure, all of Turpin, and Mark Wayne McClure and wife, Angela, Oklahoma City; three daughters, Eyvonne Franco and husband, Osvaldo, and Susan Spencer, all of Turpin, and Charmane McDade and husband, James, Oklahoma City; three brothers, John Dove, Liberal, Ernie Rudolph and wife, Tammy, Orlando, Fla., and Mike Rudolph and wife, Debbie, Blackwell, Okla.; three sisters, Chris Gilcrease and husband, John, Ponca City, Okla., Lenora Whan and husband, Danny, Plains, and Loraine Salley and husband, Ellis, Pampa; 16 grandchildren, Jennifer McClure, Eric McClure, Tyler McClure, Ashley McClure, Lacey McClure, Christopher McClure, Caressa McClure, Ross McClure, Albany McClure, Donald McClure, Jimmy McDade, Jeremy McDade, Bertie Johnson and Carl Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; and one foster son, Donald.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Faith Church in Liberal with Dr. Ollie Kinser presiding.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Dalhart Cemetery in Dalhart.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

RAYMOND STEVENSON

HOOKER, Okla. -- Raymond Stevenson, 69, Decorah, Iowa, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Decorah.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker with the Brother Ron Mimms presiding.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.

RAYMOND H. STEVENSON

DECORAH, Iowa ­ Raymond Henry Stevenson, 69, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Decorah.

He was born Feb. 29, 1932, to Raymond Allen and Ruby Blanch (Henry) Stevenson in Watonga, Okla.

He attended school in Watonga until his family moved to Hooker, Okla., where he graduated from Hooker High School in 1946.

He attended Panhandle A & M, and the University of Oklahoma, where he received a bachelor's degree in 1954 and a master's degree in 1958.

He served in the U.S Army, including a tour of duty in Korea.

He retired from Austin Powder Co. in 1997, and was a resident of Decorah since 1988.

He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and the VFW.

Survivors include his wife Norma, of the home; his mother, of Aase Haugen Home in Decorah; one son, Greg Stevenson and wife, Dawn, Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Martha Todd Meyers and husband, Robert, Aurora, Colo., and Christi Cook, Rochester, Minn.; one nephew, Carter Simmons, Joplin, Mo.; four grandchildren, Brandon Keith, Jordan Ray, Jessica and Matthew.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Donna Jean Simmons.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hooker Cemetery with the Brother Ron Mimms presiding.

NELL CHOCKLEY

BEAVER, Okla. -- Nell Chockley, 66, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, in Beaver.

She was born Sept. 13, 1935, to George C. Sr. and Catherine Belle (May) Skelley in Cimmaron County, Okla.

She was a retired school teacher.

She was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church, the OEA and the NEA.

Survivors include one son, Charlie Chockley, Beaver; two daugthers, Karen Trippet, Ft. Collins, Colo., and Brenda Cooper, Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, George L. Skelley Jr., Clemson, S.C.; three sisters, Helen Baker, Guymon, Okla., Amelia Inlbeck, Canyon, Texas, and Kay Prather, Boise City, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services wil be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Beaver United Methodist Church with the Pastor John Breon presiding.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. (CDT) Friday at the Kenton Cemetery in Kenton, Okla.

Clark Funeral Service in Beaver is in charge of arrangement.

ROBERT L. SUTTON

ENID, Okla. -- Robert L. Sutton, 77, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, Okla.

He was born April 26, 1924, to Roy and Sadie (Sellers) Sutton in Lockney, Texas.

He married Freda Lewis in 1943. She survives.

He attended school in Tucumcari, N.M.

He was a farmer in Texas and Oklahoma before retiring and moving to Enid in 1992.

He was a member of Baker Methodist Church in Baker, Okla., the Elks Club in Guymon, Okla., and served on the school board in Baker.

Other survivors include one son, Lonnie Sutton, Stinnett, Texas; two daughters, Geraldine Simmons, Waukomis, Okla., and Margaret Barlow, Cypress, Texas; seven grandchildren, Barry Barlow, Brady Barlow, Stacey Simmons, Tamie Simmons, Jera Chovanec, Shannon Henderson and Amanda Uhl; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Cherry.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone, Okla.

Anderson-Burris Funeral Home in Enid is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the YMCA in care of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, 3002 N. Van Buren, Enid, OK 73703.
