MAX C. HALE

GUYMON, Okla. -- Max C. Hale, 67, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.

He was born Sept. 13, 1934, to Dewey C. and Sarah Ellen (Hollister) Hale in Madison.

He married Mary Phyllis Childers Dec. 31, 1973, in Stratford, Texas. She survives.

He was a driver for Yellow Freight for several years.

He moved to Guymon from Memphis, Tenn., in 1995 and managed Guymon Econo Storage for the past five years.

Other survivors include his mother of Guymon; five sons, Terry Hale, Turpin, Okla., Clifton Hale, Olathe, Chris Hale, Okmulgee, Okla., Roy Hale of Colorado, and Doug Baldridge, Tyrone, Okla.; five daughters, Laurie Thompson and husband, Kelly, Guymon, Candy Hale, Enid, Okla., Tonya Hale, Cheyenne, Wyo., Paula Ray and husband, Ron, Elk City, Okla., and Connie Garcia, Liberal.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bunch-Roberts Chapel in Guymon with the Rev. Odie Nunley presiding.

Final disposition of cremains will be in the mountains of Cheyenne.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association in care of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.

NANCY K. ROBINSON

TYRONE, Okla. -- Nancy Kay Robinson, 39, Tyrone, died Jan. 16, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born March 16, 1962, to James R. and Anita Claycomb in Honolulu, Hawaii.

She married Tory L. Robinson March 10, 1994, in Dumas, Texas. He survives.

She grew up in several ports of call, and graduated from Guymon High School in 1980.

She attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla., working toward degrees in biology and earth science.

She and her husband moved to Tyrone, where she worked as a secretary for the cafeteria director at Seward County Community College in Liberal, and was the administrative assistant for the Seward County Historical Museum in Liberal.

She and her husband took over the operation of OK Day Care in Tyrone in July 1999.

Other survivors include two daughters, Barrie Lyn Gloden and Jamie Lee Gloden, both of Tyrone; and her mother, of Kaneohe, Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, Dale and Katherine Schriber and John and Marie Claycomb.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Guymon with the Pastor Don Taylor and the Rev. Kim Domnick presiding.

Cremation services were held Thursday.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Service in Hooker, Okla., was in charge of the arrangements.

MARY J. MEYER

HOOKER, Okla. ­ Mary Jean Meyer, 41, Hooker, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.

She was born Dec. 8, 1960, to Leslie and Reba (Fullbright) Banks in Guymon.

She married Billy Martinez Jan. 8, 1980.

She married Mark Meyer Dec. 7, 1984 in Guymon. He survives.

Her hobbies included singing and interior decorating.

Other survivors include three daughters, Heather Neville and husband, Kyle, Albuquerque, N.M., and Maudie Christine Meyer and Marcie Erin Meyer, both of the home; two step-children, Joey Ross Meyer, Dixon, N.M., and Andrea Meyer, Hooker; her parents, Hardesty, Okla.; four brothers, Lewis Banks, Las Vegas, Willis Banks and wife, Shelli, Montrose, Colo., twin Larry Banks and wife, Bernita, Guymon, and Alvin Banks and wife, Lurl, Guymon; one sister, Della Gibson and husband, Dennis, Hardesty; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Myrtle Fullbright and Willis and Jewel Banks; and one sister, Sharlet.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with the Brother Eddy Scoggins presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

Memorials are suggested to either the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Hooker Ambulance Association in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

DELBERT C. LEES

OKLAHOMA CITY ­ Delbert C. "Jack" Lees, 82, formerly of Hooker, Okla., died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Bellview Nursing Center in Oklahoma City.

He was born June 2, 1919, to Charles and Viola (Lewis) Lees in Stevens County, north of Hooker.

He married Vella Montgomery Aug. 25, 1940, in Guymon, Okla. She died Sept. 26, 2001.

He attended school in Hooker and later graduated from Adams, Okla. High School in 1937. He attended Panhandle A&M College at Goodwell, Okla., for two years. He was a replacement teacher near Straight, Okla., during World War II.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hooker.

Survivors include one son, Ray Lees and wife, Lisa, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Dana Garcia and husband, Benny, Shamrock, Texas; one brother, Garland Lees and wife, Ruth, Hooker; seven grandchildren, Angie Garcia, Kim Garcia, Allison Lees, Alicia Lees, Matt Lees, Chase Dickens, and Alexis Dickens.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Rev, Kim Domnick presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Hooker in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

MARLENE J. WILLIAMS

DEWEY, Okla. -- Marlene Joyce Williams, 68, former Liberal resident, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla.

She was born July 11, 1933, to Cecil Edward and Nelda Irene (Lewis) Dyson in Concordia.

She married Luther Dean "Fuzz" Williams in March 1953. He died Nov. 4, 1990.

She grew up and received her education in Liberal.

She and her husband made their home in Liberal and then in various other locations as they followed her husband's employment in the pipeline industry. In 1972 they moved to Beaver, Okla., and then to Douglas, Wyo., in 1976. The later moved to Greeley, Colo., and later made their home in Dewey in 1989.

Survivors include one son, John Marshall Williams, Austin, Texas; one daughter, Lori Marie Hogue, Dewey; one sister, Dolores Hutchinson, Federal Heights, Colo.; six grandchildren, Latisha Dawn Williams, Brandon Charles Williams, Ty Adam Williams, Jess Landon Hogue, Zackary Daniel Hogue and Austin Cole Ballerstein; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Brianna.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dwain Dyson; one son, Michael Dean Williams on May 14, 1990; and one daughter, Debra Ann Williams in infancy.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Bartlesville, Okla., with the Rev. Danny Hester presiding.

Memorial services and cremation were under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville.

A memorial has been established to the Jane Phillips Hospice, 219 N. Virginia, Bartlesville, OK 74006.

JULIA E. JORDAN

TURPIN, Okla. -- Julia E. Jordan, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at her home in Turpin.

She was born Sept. 6, 1924, to Ray A. and Edna A. (Barnes) Casady in Turpin.

She married Dick Jordan in 1951 in Las Vegas. He died Nov. 9, 1952.

She graduated from Turpin High School in 1942.

During World War II, she worked at the Liberal Air Base. Later, she worked as a bookkeeper for Star Lumber Company in Liberal and Santa Fe, N.M.

She started a long career in the

U.S. Postal Service in Turpin, starting as a mail clerk. She was later Post Master for many years and retired in December 1989.

She was a member of the National Post Master's Association.

Survivors include twins, son Jeff Jordan, Turpin, and daughter Jennifer Bredell and husband, Lowell, Sacramento, Calif.; four brothers, Cecil Casady and wife, Iva Mae, Pensacola, Fla., Harold Casady and wife, Martha Lou, Webber Falls, Okla., Jesse Casady and wife, Mary Ellen, Tyler, Texas, and Roscoe Casady and wife, Roberta, Liberal; three sisters, Vida Noland and husband, James, Topeka, Edna May Correll, Liberal, and Bessie Colvin and husband, Charles, Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Morgen Kirby, Stewart Bredell and Lee Bredell; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Homer Casady.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Turpin United Methodist Church in Turpin with the Rev. Dianne Izquierdo presiding.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Frederick Cemetery in Frederick, Okla.

Friends may sign the register at Miller Mortuary in Liberal, and the family will be at the mortuary to greet and visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

REV. WINSTON BARKER

ALVIN, Texas -- The Rev. Winston J. Barker, 75, Alvin, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Clearlake Hospital in Clearlake City, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Capitol View Cemetery north of Elmwood, Okla.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.

ORE KRIEGER

ADAMS, Okla. ­ Ore Krieger, 92, died Feb. 11, 2002, at his rural home near Adams in Texas County, Okla.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Hooker, Okla., with John Maynard presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
