RICHARD LEE PARKER

BEAVER, Okla. -- Richard Lee Parker, 81, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital in Beaver.

He was born March 29, 1920, to James William and Mabel Bessie (Kendrick) Parker in Beaver County, Okla.

He married Florene Malissa Brewer May 11, 1940, in Stillwater, Okla. She survives.

He graduated from Beaver High School.

He was a farmer and dairy rancher all of his life, and he was a lifetime resident of Beaver County. He was a resident of rural Elmwood.

He attended the Methodist Church in Beaver.

Other survivors include three sons, Steve Parker, Elmwood, Jimmie Lee Parker, Gene Autry, Okla., and Rex Allen Parker, Sawyer, Okla.; two daughters, Nancy Carol Barth, Ashland, and Sue Ann Hergert, Marienthal; two brothers, Walter Parker, Talala, Okla., and Edward Eugene Parker, Bokchita, Okla.; four sisters, Lenora Gile, Derby, Doris Thomas, Elmwood, Maxine Hibbs, Durant, Okla., Shirley Shuck, Sangado, Alberta, Canada; and 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Beaver First Baptist Church in Beaver, with Dr. Don Rogers and Paul Euliss presiding.

Burial will be at the Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver County under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

WILLA DEAN RITTERBUSH

FORGAN, Okla. -- Willa Dean Ritterbush, 47, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at the Beaver County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

She was born Sept. 23, 1954, to Jerry Olen and Blanche Marie (Gray) Holland in Nowata, Okla.

She graduated from Beaver High School in 1972.

She was a teacher's aide.

She attended the Forgan Baptist Church in Forgan.

Survivors include two daughters, Ashton Marie Ritterbush and Kalli Jo Ritterbush, both of the family

home; one sister, Jeri Lea Hodges, Forgan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Forgan High School auditorium in Forgan, with Paul Nactigall and Glen Kirkendall presiding.

Burial will be at the Forgan Cemetery in Forgan under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver, Okla.

DOROTHY W. COVEL

FORGAN, Okla. -- Dorothy Wardlaw Covel, 82, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at her home in Forgan.

She was born Aug. 29, 1919, to Samuel Isaac and Katie Frances (Christian) Butler in Ardmore, Okla.

In 1941, she moved to California to care for her sister, and she met and married Hubert Wardlaw. He preceded her in death.

In 1963, she met and married O.H. "Curly" Covel. He preceded her in death.

She and her husband Curly lived in California, where she worked at Mac's Steak House in Blythe, Calif.

In 1974, they moved to Lindsay, Okla., where they lived for a short time before moving to the Forgan/Beaver, Okla., area.

She worked for Beaver County Nursing Home. She and her husband were the caretakers of the Beaver County Fairgrounds for many years.

They also started the senior citizens' dances.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forgan and the Rebekah's Lodge.

Survivors include one son, Jack Wardlaw, Hemet, Calif.; one daughter, Gail Kelly, Forgan; two step-sons, Ronnie Covel, Sugar City, Colo., and Gene Covel, Oklahoma City; two brothers, A.C. Butler, Oxnard, Calif., and J.D. Butler, Fillmore, Calif.; two sisters, Beatrice Chapman and Atheline Scott, both of Fillmore; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charlie Butler and Clifford Butler.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Forgan with the Pastor David Mercer presiding.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay.

The family is meeting at the home of Crystal Martinez, 103 N. Broadway in Forgan (behind the barber shop).

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.

EVA L. HEATON

NORMAN, Okla. -- Eva L. Heaton, 82, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman.

She was born May 15, 1919, to Lawrence Lacy and Mattie Hall in Grady County near Norge, Okla.

She married Thomas Clinton Heaton March 11, 1960. He died Oct. 3, 2001.

She attended schools in Newcastle, Okla. She later worked as a cook at several fraternities at the University of Oklahoma.

She then worked as an executive chef for Security National Bank until her retirement.

She was a member of Lakeside Church of God, where she served as a greeter. She was named Christian Mother of the Year for 2001 at the church.

She was also a member of the FCE Home Extension Club and the Noble Senior Citizens Center, where she served as past secretary.

Her hobbies included cooking for people, and she had won a blue ribbon for baking at the Cleveland County Fair. She also painted in oils and won two first-place ribbons at the fair.

Survivors include five sons, Danny Brown and wife, Janie, David Brown and wife, Ronda, Coy Dale Brown, Roger Brown and wife, Debbie, and Gary Brown and wife, Cathy; four daughters, Elaine Smith and husband, George, Laverne Wallis and husband, Bob, Berthina Hogue and husband, Billy, and Elsie McCartney and husband, H.R.; two sisters, Ruth Conkling and Lucille Woods; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeside Church of God in Norman.

Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at McMahans Funeral Home in Noble, Okla.

BOBY R. KING

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Boby R. King, 75, died Monday, February 25, 2002.

He was born March 13, 1926, to T.R. and Millie King in Liberal.

He graduated from Liberal High School and then served in the U.S. Navy aboard the battleship U.S.S. Pennsylvania during World War II.

After he completed his military service, he attended Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in psychology and business.

While at OSU, he was a founding member of Delta Chi.

Following graduation from OSU, he worked in the life insurance business, joining Prudential Insurance Company. He began as an agent and then became a division manager, home office training consultant, associate manager and agency member of the Oklahoma City agency.

He was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable for 10 years.

He retired from the company after 24 years and developed his own insurance and investment business, B.R. King & Associates Ltd. In 1996, he joined with partner James R. Nicely, and together they formed King, Nicely & Associates LLC.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Lois King; one daughter, Dayna O'Dens and husband, David; one grandson, Zach; one sister, Ione Randolph and husband, Jay; in-laws, Mason and Joye McLain, Royce and Mollie Hopkins and Lemac and Marge Hopkins; and fraternity brother, Bill Bates and wife, Mary Lou.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in care of Oklahoma Mercy Health System Foundation, 4300 W. Memorial Road, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.

BILL GIBSON

HOOKER, Okla. -- Bill Gibson, 75, Hooker, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born July 29, 1926, to G.R. and Gladys (Bray) Gibson in Enid, Okla.

He married Jean Hazel May 27, 1950, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.

He attended school in Hartford and Rocky Ford, Colo.

After high school, he entered the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II aboard a ship used for Japanese prisoners.

After his honorable discharge, he worked in Oregon and then went to refrigeration school in Oklahoma City.

He moved to Hooker in 1948 and began work at Natural Gas Pipeline. He worked for the gas company for 37 years and retired in 1986.

After retirement, he and his wife owned and operated B&J Cleaning Service for five years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hooker and cooked for the annual Groundhog Supper.

He was a Boy Scout Master.

His hobbies included arrowhead hunting, fishing and oil painting.

Other survivors include two sons, Mark Gibson and wife, Jan, Pampa, Texas, and Tracy Gibson, Hooker; two daughters, Gail Shipley and husband, Danny, Martensville, Ind., and Susan Ford and husband, Martin, Bartlesville, Okla.; two brothers, Ray Gibson and wife, Ruth, Tacoma Park, Okla., and John Gibson and wife, Sandy, Sterling, Colo.; one sister, Teresa McKinney and husband, Turman, Rocky Ford; eight grandchildren, Josh Zamarzla, Ryan Gibson, Erik Gibson, Melissa Patterson, Lindsay Patterson, Derek Ford and Colin Ford and Steven Ray Rodriguez; and one great-grandchild, Jett Gibson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Kim Domnick presiding.

Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

Memorials are suggested to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association, both in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
