WILLIAM C. NEWTON

STROUD, Okla. -- William Clifford "Bill" Newton, 61, died Saturday, March 2, 2002.

He was born March 13, 1940, to S.A. "Bert" and Margueritte Jeanetta (Rodgers) Newton in Tulsa, Okla.

He had been a longtime resident of Lincoln County, Okla.

He was a retired office manager, having worked for construction companies.

He cared for his mother for 11 years prior to her death in July 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Bert Newton, Stroud, and Clifford Douglas Newton in Corrigan, Texas; two daughters, Tami Jo Reyes, Lake Jackson, Texas, Tereasa Newton Light, Arab, Ala.; and six grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Stroud with the Rev. Sandy Chance presiding.

Burial was held at Stroud Cemetery in Stroud.

Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud were in charge of arrangements.

CODEI TIBBETTS-ADAME

ENID, Okla. -- Codei Hunter Tibbetts-Adame, the infant son of John Adame and Leslie Tibbetts of Enid, formerly of Liberal, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, in Enid.

He was born Dec. 20, 2001, in Enid.

Survivors include his parents; five brothers, Chris Murray, Brad Murray and Benjamin Tibbetts, all of Enid, John Adame Jr. and Dominik Adame, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Amanda Adame, Albuquerque; maternal grandparents, Gene and Billie Hobson, Urbana, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Esther H. Adame, Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oakwood Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Frisbee and Shorty Unruh presiding.

Burial was at Enid Cemetery in Enid.

Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the chapel fund at Golden Oaks in care of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, P.O. Box 3501, Enid, OK 73702.

BRIAN L. DAY

EVA, Okla. ­ Brian Lee Day, 35, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at his home in Eva.

He was born Nov. 22, 1966, to Fred and Geneva Baxter in Kirksville, Mo.

He had been a lifelong resident of Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle.

He graduated from Yarbrough High School in Eva.

He was a member of the 4-Wheelers Club in Elkhart and the Red Neck 4-Wheelers club in Eva.

Survivors include one son, Timothy Day, Valley Center; one daughter, Gayla Day, Amarillo, Texas; two step daughters, in Navada, Mo.; one sister, Deborah Young, Perryton, Texas; his parents in Eva; and companion, Donna Rusch, Eva.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of God in Elkhart.

Visitations were held Saturday at Harrell Funeral Home in Elkhart.

Cremation has already taken place.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Harrell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.

VERNON G. COTTER

BUFFALO, Okla. ­ Vernon Gilbert Cotter, 70, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Okla.

He was born Sept. 29, 1931, to Earl Bartlett and Eathel Mae (Miller) Cotter in Buffalo.

He attended Liberty Country School.

He served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

He was a farmer/stockman.

Survivors include two brothers, Wiley Cotter and wife, Mary, Buffalo, and Bob Cotter and wife, Bernadean, Liberal; four sisters, Margie Hoffman and husband, Harold, Buffalo, Earleen Boston and husband Travis, Elmwood, Okla., Margaret Kinney and husband, Steve, Beaver, Okla., and Glenda Carr, Milpitas, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Eldon Cotter in 1985.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myatt Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Robert Kinney presiding.

Burial will be at Willard Cemetery outside of Buffalo.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday at Myatt Funeral Home in Buffalo.

Memorials are suggested to the Willard Cemetery in care of Myatt Funeral Home, Box 749, Buffalo, OK 73834.

JERRIE D. THRASH

KEYES, Okla. ­ Jerrie D. Thrash, of Texhoma, Okla., 64, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born March 19, 1937, to Alvie Cletis and Mildred Irene (Landreth) Thrash in Sturgis, Okla.

He married Barbara Colene Blakely Aug. 28, 1955, in Elkhart. She survives.

He was a lifelong resident of the Oklahoma Panhandle.

He was a farmer/stockman.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Keyes.

Other survivors include One son, Billy D. Thrash, Texhoma; one daughter, Jonna Lusk, Texhoma; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Keyes.

Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrell Funeral Home in Elkhart.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Keyes, or the donor's choice in care of Harrell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.

EUNICE V. TUTTLE

CHICKASHA, Okla. -- Eunice V. Tuttle, 94, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, in Chickasha.

She was born April 14, 1907, to Elmo Davis and Della (Mitchell) Davis in Mangum, Okla.

She married Cecil Tuttle in Lubbock, Texas.

She grew up in Mangum and moved with her family to Lubbock, as a young girl.

She attended Lubbock schools and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1926.

She learned to be a master reweaver from Cochren Cleaners. She was known throughout the United States for her work for over 30 years.

She moved to Chickasha in 1992 from Liberal.

Her hobbies included reading the Bible and writing. She published four of her written works.

Survivors include one daughter, Billie J. Burrows, Chickasha; one brother, M.D. Davis, Wolfforth, Texas; one granddaughter, Allana J. Dohm, Chickasha; three grandsons, Rodger R. Holmes, Liberal, Stacey M. Holmes, Chickasha and Kelly W. Burrows, Ninnekah, Okla.; five great-grandsons, Kenneth W. Dohm, Chickasha, Glenn Holmes and Brian Holmes, both of Liberal, Andrew Holmes, Chanate, and Cody Burrows, Ninnekah; two great-granddaughters, Karen W. Verser and Destinee J. Dohm, both of Chickasha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and one grandson.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha with the Rev. Esten Leonard presiding.

Ferguson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

JEANNE V. METCALF

NORMAN, Okla. -- Jeanne V. Metcalf, 82, Norman, formerly of Hooker, Okla., died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Kim Domnick presiding.

Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.

DONNA M. IRELAND

TYRONE -- Donna M. Ireland, 71, Tyrone, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, Okla.

She was born Feb. 3, 1931, to Luther K. and Thelma M. (McGuire) Nelson in Tyrone.

She married Doyle Ireland March 29, 1950, in Guymon, Okla. He died Sept. 20, 1998.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1948.

She farmed with her husband and was also a bookkeeper and parts person for KOV Auto in Liberal for several years and for 25 years at Tedford Implement Co. in Liberal.

She was a member of Baker United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge in Tyrone and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Her hobbies included growing large gardens.

Survivors include one daughter, Janet Archer and husband, James, Tyrone; one sister, Peggy McBee and husband, Johnny, Tyrone; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Ireland, Dec. 29, 1992.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Dianna Izquiredo presiding.

Burial will be at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to either the American Cancer Society or Baker United Methodist Church, both in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67901.
