HAROLD R. SCHOOLEY

HOOKER, Okla. -- Harold Rudolph Schooley, 88, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Elk City Nursing Home in Elk City, Okla.

He was born March 24, 1914, to Neal Lee and Wilma R. (Webb) Schooley in Kiowa County.

He married Maretta Ruth Kagarice Feb. 22, 1940, in Tyrone, Okla.

She died July 3, 2001.

He was a Tyrone area resident since he was 18 months old.

After spending brief periods of his childhood in Kansas and western Missouri, his family returned to the Tyrone area in 1921.

He attended Tyrone schools until his graduation in 1932.

His life-long occupation was farming in southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle.

He and his wife first lived on a farm in Stevens County.

They moved to their own farm northwest of Tyrone in May 1944.

He continued to farm in both Kansas and Oklahoma for about 50 years.

He and his wife remined on the farm until failing health required that they move to Elk City in February 1998.

He was a member of Civilian Conservation Corp. in 1934 and was in the service for two years; Tyrone Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for about 50 years and church treasurer for 30 years; Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief team, in which he participated in a mission trip to Mexico; and Panhandle Telephone Board of Directors, where he served for 17 years.

Survivors include two sons, Neal Lee Schooley and wife, Shirley, Birmingham, Ala., and Jim Schooley and wife, Elaine, Liberal; one daughter, Lynn Kennemer and husband, Bob, Elk City; 10 grandchildren, Vaughn Kennemer, David Schooley, Dale Kennemer, Brian Schooley, Alan Schooley, Angela Schooley Washington, Carrie Kennemer, Karon Schooley Cassidy, Sean Schooley and Jessica Schooley; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vida Lyles, Hooker.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; step-father, William G. Gillispie; and one sister, Sylvia Rhoades.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tyrone Baptist Church in Tyrone.

Burial will be at Tyrone Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Oklahoma Baptist HOmes for Children, 3800 N. May, Oklahoma City, OK 73112 or to Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55101.

DONALD R. SHUEY

FORGAN, Okla. -- Donald Ray Shuey, 69, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at his home near Forgan.

He was born Doc. 16, 1932, to Robert Wayne and Bessye Elizabeth (Robins) Shuey in Elmoro, N.M.

He married Wanda Marie Hetrick June 1, 1952, in Beaver County, Okla. She survives.

He graduated from high school, and he served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a farmer and carpenter.

He had been a member of the Forgan Baptist Church since 1946.

Other survivors include two sons, Russell Shuey, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Randy Shuey, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Donna Hayes, Liberal, and Lucia Briones, Pembrooke Pines, Fla.; his mother, Bessye Hopper, Beaver, Okla.; one brother, Robert Shuey, Beaver; one sister, Maxine Brown, Niangua, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Forgan Baptist Church in Forgan with Mike Mackey, Wayne Moore and Oscar Ragan presiding.

Burial will be at Forgan Cemetery in Forgan.

The family suggests memorials to the Don Shuey Fund, Bank of Beaver City, Forgan Branch, Forgan, OK 73938.

Clark Funeral Service in Beaver is in charge of arrangements.

GERALD A. DAILING

TYRONE, Okla. -- Gerald A. "Pops" Dailing, 62, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at his home in Tyrone.

He was born April 9, 1940, to Charles Williams and Georgia Henneberry Dailing in Centralia, Mo.

He married Darleeta Ann Rodkey Oct. 10, 1959, in Elkhart.

She survives.

He moved to Ft. Supply, Okla., with his family, where he attended school.

He later moved to Earlsboro, Okla.

He started his career as an auto mechanic, working on Ford vehicles at Patterson Ford-Mercury in Shawnee, Okla.

He worked in numerous places in Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas.

He and his wife made their first home in Shawnee and in 1964 moved to Elkhart.

He and his wife lived for 13 years in Houston, Mo., and in 1978 moved to Tyrone.

Other survivors include two sons, Timothy Allen Dailing and wife, Maebelle, Beaver, Okla., and Lucas Andrew Dailing and wife, Betty, Tyrone; two brothers, Delbert Dailing and wife, Velma, Boncarbo, Colo., and Kenneth Dailing and wife, Florence, Success, Mo.; one twin sister, Geraldine Prince and husband, John David, Circleville, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Andrew Allen and Glen Anthony Dailing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby John Dailing.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hooker, Okla.

Burial will be at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker is in charge of arrangements.

JANET R. HAMMAN

BEAVER, Okla. -- Janet R. Hamman, 69, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 8, 1933, to Ivan L. and Dallas E. (Taylor) Hill in Liberal.

She married George C. Ives. She later married Howard E. Hamman in Perryton, Texas.

She grew up in Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School in 1952.

She was a resident of Odessa and Gardendale, Texas, before moving to Beaver.

She was a resident of Beaver for the past 23 years.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Lee Ives and wife, Sabra, Mart, Texas, and Daniel Lewis Hamman and wife, Stella, Beaver; one daughter, Stephanie Ormiston and husband, Rock, Plains; one brother, Steven Hill and wife, Edra, Rolla; two sisters, Jeannie Jones, Pahrump, Nev., and Karen Teeter and husband, Gary, Liberal; 12 grandchildren, Bart Ives, Keri Gillaspy, JoJo Gillaspy, Kayla Gillaspy, Kelsie Jantz, Rocky Ormiston, Katie Ormiston, Jessica Lynn Moulton, Jimmie Dawn Heflin, Pamela Jo Osborn, Daniel Ray Hamman and Tiffany Hamman; and four great-grandchildren, Parker Jantz, Delcey Haflin, Averie Cudd and Mathew Moulton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gary Hill; and one grandson, Tyson Ives.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal with the Rev. Nathan Stanton presiding.

The casket will remained closed.

Friends may sign the register book from 3-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
