DUANE MELVIN KLETECKA

GUYMON, Okla. ­ Duane Melvin Kletecka, 69, died Oct. 26, 2003, in Guymon.

He was born Sept. 8, 1934, to Edward Kletecka and Sophia Catherine (Seiler) in Caldwell.

He married Blanche Elaine Love Sept. 17, 1955, in Guymon.

He graduated from Medford High School in Medford, Okla. She survives.

He worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita and for Adams Hardfacing in Guymon.

He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Philippines Sea. He worked for Phillips Petroleum. He worked as an engine operator, retiring in 1995 after 25 years with the company.

He enjoyed fishing and going for walks around the lake with his wife Blanche.

Other survivors include one son, Michael Duane Kletecka and wife, Nancy, Hooker, Okla; one daughter, Kathy Elaine, and husband, Dale Wescott, Floresville, Texas; three sisters, Helen Williams, Grace Smith, Wichita, and Winona Gibson, Apache Junction, Ariz.; four brothers, Norman Kletecka and wife, Jeanetta, Los Angeles, Calif.; Lyman Kletecka, Phoenix, Ariz.; Alan Kletecka and wife, Joyce, and Roger Kletecka, Scott City,; four grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Brittany and Angela Wescott; three step-grandchildren, Amanda Wallace, Ashley and Samantha Graves.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Irene Calsing and a brother, Alfred Kletecka.

*Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverand Charles Mendenhall and the Reverand Mike Chaffin, assisting.

Burial will be at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, Okla.

Memorials are suggested to Victory Center Building Fund, in care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Box 1306, Guymon, OK, 73945.

KIM E. INMAN

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- Kim E. Inman, 49, died Oct. 25, 2003 in Bartlesville, Okla.

He was born Dec. 28, 1953, to Roy and Martha Cole Inman in Ashtubluba, Ohio.

He married Sherry A. Dively, Dec. 17, 1977, in Liberal. She survives.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He returned to Liberal in 1975 and worked in the oilfield.

He was an electrician for Schlumberger Oil Field Service in Bartlesville, Okla. for five years.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Liberal. He worked as the sound technician during worship services.

Other survivors include, two sons; Donald Inman and Chase Inman, Liberal; two daughters, Kimberly Merkey and husband, Shane, Copan, Okla., Tiffany Inman, Bartlesville, Okla.; his mother, Martha Cole, Webster, Fla.; four brothers, Barry Inman, Gillette Wyo., Darren Cole, Jefferson, Ohio, Brad Inman, Webster, Fla., and Brian Inman, Geneva, Ohio; one sister, Teresa Abercrombie, Webster, Fla.; three grandchildren, Robert, Michael, and Vera Merkey.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday at Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Liberal with the Reverend Wyatt Carpenter presiding.

Burial will be at Kismet cemeterywith Military Honors by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard.

Friends may call the Miller Mortuary from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The family will welcome friends to visit at 803 W. 7th .

DONALD EUGENE THURMAN

DURANT, Okla. -- Donald Eugene Thurman, 72, died Oct. 30, 2003, at his residence in Durant.

He was born Aug. 18, 1931, to John Helum Thurman and Tresa Ann Thurman in Wichita.

He married Dolores Martin May 30, 1952, in Wichita. She survives.

He was in the United States Navy Reserve for eight years. He was employed at Southwest Daily Times newspaper for 33 years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 20 years. He was secretary and member of the Elk's Lodge for 23 years and was on the school board for St. Anthony's Catholic School in Liberal for two years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Denison, Texas.

Other survivors include one son, Greg Thurman and wife, Pauline Thurman, Durant, Okla.; three daughters, Margaret Holloway, Durant, Okla., Christina McCabe and husband, Ed, St. Pete Beach, Fla., and Kellie Williams and Hector Trevino, Leander, Texas; and six grandchildren, Richard Thurman, San Diego, Calif., Kenneth William Holloway, Round Rock, Texas, Terran Williams, Liberal, Mathew Williams, Liberal, and Michelle Williams, Leander, Texas.

Rosary will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. tonight at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Denison, Texas with the Father John Dick.

Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Denison, Texas.

Memorials are suggested to Life Teen Group at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Durant, Okla.

JOYCE BIRKLEY

HOOKER, Okla. -- Joyce Birkley, 75, died Oct. 31, 2003, at her residence in Hooker.

She was born Aug. 2, 1928, near Forgan, Okla. to Burl and Pearl Reed Taylor.

She married Raymond O. Birkley Dec. 8, 1969 in Sublette. He died Nov. 19, 1990.

She grew up and attended school in Forgan, Okla and Beaver, Okla.

She received her LPN from Seward County Community College in Liberal.

She worked for Southwest Medical center in Liberal for 11 years. She worked for Dr. Darrel Stout in Hooker, Okla. from December 1991 to January 1996. She worked five years for Love's County Store in Hooker, Okla.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hooker, Okla.

Survivors include one son, Bill Johnson and his wife, Debbie, Hooker, Okla.;two sisters, Ann Matkin, Liberal, Billie Smith, Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Charles Taylor.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church in Hooker, Okla. with the Reverend Thomas W. House presiding.

Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla. is in charge of the arrangements.

BONNIE JEAN FLEMING

KEYES, Okla. -- Bonnie Jean Fleming, 73, died Nov. 2, 2003, at her residence in Keyes.

She was born Jan. 6, 1930, to Henry A. and Mary M. (Davolt) Whisennand in Cimarron County, Okla.

She married Carl Fleming Aug. 3, 1949, Clayton, N.M. He survives.

She was a lifelong resident of Cimarron County, Okla. She graduated from high school in Elkhart. She attended college at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla. She was a homemaker.

Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, working crossword puzzles and sewing.

Other survivors include two sons, David Fleming, Keyes, Okla., and Martin Fleming, Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Lynn Downs, Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Keyes Baptist Church in Keyes with the Reverend Jay Sparks presiding.

Burial will be Willowbar Cemetery in Keyes.

Memorials are suggested the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.

KIM E. INMAN

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- Kim E. Inman, 49, died Oct. 25, 2003 in Bartlesville, Okla.

REVEREND JOHN GOSS JR.

ADAMS, Okla. -- Reverend John Goss Jr., 73, died Nov. 15, 2003, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Sept. 15, 1930, to John Newton Sr. and Minnie Maude (McCauley) Goss in Edmond, Okla.

He married Dortha Nell Johnston July 22, 1952, in Adams, Okla. She died Sept. 6, 1999.

He then married Patricia Cornell Kinsey Dec. 29, 2002. She survives.

He was a bi-vocational Pastor and worked on farming and carpentry and cabinet work. He built many of the cabins at Gibson Baptist Assembly along with the swimming pool. He was a pastor at Felt, Forgan, Hardesty, Bethel, Springer, N.M., Booker, Texas, Tucumcari, N.M. and recently in Adams, Okla. where he served as Pastor of the combined First Baptist Church and Mennonite Brethren Church.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ethel Marie Beckham and one niece Rhonda Beckham.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker, Okla. with the Reverend Frank Marks presiding.

Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Adams, Okla. under the direction of the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon's or the charity of the donor's choice in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
