PAUL VICTOR HUDDLESTON

PONCA CITY, Okla. -- Paul Victor Huddleston, 81, died Saturday, September 13, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 31, 1921, to Clyde C. and Libbey Mea (Rouse) Huddleston in Breckenridge, Texas.

He married Stella Wagers July 8, 1946, in Ponca City. She survives.

He graduated high school and entered the United States Army. During duty in WWII he was wounded in action. After receiving an honorable discharge he moved to Ponca City. He retired as an operator in the East Plant of Conoco in 1984, after serving 38 and one/half years. He served part time as an auxiliary police officer and taught first aid.

His hobbies included camping, fishing and traveling.

He is also survived by one daughter, Sharon Kay King, Ponca City; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Huddleston, Liberal; two sisters, Joy Testerman, Newkirk and Edith Heisler and husband, Gene, Hillsboro,Oregon; three grandchildren; Kevin Huddleston and his wife, Susanne, Melissa Neely and her husband, Quentin, and Chad King and his wife, Rhonda, all of Ponca City; five great grandchildren, Jessica Neely, Alex Neely, Brittany King, Hailey King and Christopher King.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Victor Huddleston; one sister, Hallie Haigwood and one grandchild, Karrie Huddleston.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend David Bigger presiding.

Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Ponca City, 1904 N. Union, Suite 103, Ponca City OK 74601.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.

JOHN ZACHARY GRANT

HOOKER, Okla -- John Zachary Grant, 18, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2003 at his home.

He was born May 29, 1985 in Liberal to John Matthew and Monica Sue Dechant Grant of Adams, Okla.

He attended shool in Adams, Okla. until the fourth grade when he began attending school in Hooker, Okla. He graduated from Hooker High School in 2003.

He participated in football and shot put and discus in track. He participated in the track discus competition at the state level.

He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Youth Group in Liberal.

He was survived by, his parents; one sister, Cassie Atteberry of Liberal; paternal grandparents, Richard and Roberta Grant of Garfield; paternal great-grandmother, Doris Grant of Kansas City and his maternal grandmother Armella Dechant of Larned.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Henry Dechant.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Hooker High School in the new gymnasium in Hooker, Okla. with the Reverand Rex Petty officiating.

Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Okla.

Memorials are suggested to Faith Tabernacle in Liberal in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, PO Box 745, Hooker, Okla. 73945.

CARL PATRICK "PAT" FINE

BEAVER, Okla. -- Carl Patrick "Pat" Fine, 49, died Tuesday, September 16, 2003, south of Elmwood, Okla.

He was born March 17, 1954, to Carl William and Frances Ann Fine in Wichita Falls, Texas.

His wife is Jo Fine. She survives. He worked in the oilfield industry as a roughneck.

Other survivors include three sons, Terry Allen Fine, Iowa Park, Texas, Chris Fine, Liberal, and Josh Fine, Beaver, Okla.; four daughters, Gina McCarty, Lawrence, Stephanie McCarty, Beaver, Okla. and Caressa Fine, Columbus, Texas, and Destiny Fine, Beaver, Okla.; two brothers, Rudy Fine, Elk City, Okla. and Terry Fine, Davis, Okla.; three grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Beaver Pioneer Cemetery with Mike Crow presiding.

Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

MILDRED E. GRICE

HOOKER -- Mildred E. Grice, 86, died Oct. 26, 2003, at Dunaway Manor in Guymon, Okla.

She was born Dec. 29, 1916, to Wayne and Ella Victoria Grice Booth in Tyrone, Okla.

She married Ross Grice Nov. 19, 1938, in Liberal. He died Aug. 10, 1993.

She attended school in Tyrone, Okla. graduating from Tyrone High School. She worked for Thurman Insurance Agency in Tyrone. She lived in Tyrone until 1963 when they moved to Hooker, Okla. She worked as Tyrone City Clerk and later kept books for Grice Feed Store in Hooker. She also worked for many years at Grey's Drug Store in Hooker.

She was a former member of Tyrone Baptist Church and moved her membership to Hooker First Baptist Church; was a member of WMU and the Tyrone Home Demonstration Club.

Suvivors include two sons, Larry Grice and wife, Ellen, Goodwell, Okla., and Gary Grice and wife, Margaret, Elkhart; one daughter, Janice McBee, Hooker; two brothers, Ray William Booth and wife, Mary, Philadelphia, Penn., and Robert Lee Booth and wife, Henriella, Tyrone; two sisters, Betty LoRie Arthur, Hooker, and Mary Ellen Propois and husband, George, Los Angeles, Calif.; one niece, Jackie Clutter, Hooker; seven grandchildren and 14 great-granchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Hooker with Eddie Stewart presiding.

Burial will be at Tyrone Cemetery in Tyrone, Okla. directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.

Memorials are suggested to the Dunaway Manor or the Tyrone Cemetery Fund and in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

MARGARET E. WATSON

HOOKER, Okla. -- Margaret E. Watson, 87, died Nov. 18, 2003, at the Dunaway Manor in Guymon, Okla.

Funeral services are pending with Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla.

CARTER NELSON PRINE

HUGOTON -- Carter Nelson Prine, 82, died Dec. 1, 2003, at Norman Vet Center in Norman, Okla.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

PASTOR JERRY D. SMITHERMAN

KISMET -- Pastor Jerry D. Smitherman, 70, died Dec. 9, 2003, at the Seiling Hospital in Seiling, Okla.

He was born Oct. 10, 1933, to Leon and Travis M. Kendrick Smitherman in Stephens, Ark.

He married Betty J. Rogers June 24, 1955, in Angelton, Texas. She survives.

He graduated from the De Leon, Texas High School in 1952. He worked for the Phillips Petroleum Company in Alvin and Odessa, Texas. He moved to Kismet to work for the National Helium Company and later Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, working in Pawnee, Ill. and Seiling. In 1978, he began his own electrical contracting company, which he operated until 2001. He moved to Kismet in 1985. He served in the Texas National Guard for four years. He graduated from the Rhema Bible Training Center, in Broken Arrow, Okla. in May 1990.

He organized and founded the Faith Bible Church in Kismet. He was a member of the Faith Bible Church, Ministerial Alliance of Kismet and Plains, a charter member of the Kismet Lions Club and the Rhema Ministerial International Association.

Others survivors include one son, Bob Smitherman and wife, Kathy, Sublette; two daughters, Stacey Steckel and husband, John, Kismet, and Starla Bromlow and husband Quincy, Seiling; step-father, Lloyd Dixon, De Leon, Texas; one brother, Roy Smitherman and wife, Nancy, De Leon, Texas; one sister, Ellen Kea and husband, Delmer, De Leon, Texas; seven grandchildren, Deyna Rouse and husband, Derrick, Jared Smitherman, Teri and Whitney Bromlow, Betsy, Brad and Trey Steckel; one great-grandson, Truman Rouse.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Faith Bible Church in Kismet with Pastors Bob Deacon and Michael Brien presiding.

Burial will be at the Kismet Cemetery in Kismet.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Jerry D. Smitherman Memorial Fund, Plains State Bank in care of the mortuary.

JOSIE VELVA RADCLIFF

FORGAN, Okla. -- Josie Velva Radcliff, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, in Beaver County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 4, 1917, to Charles Allison and Vietta (Leaming) Chester in Beaver County, Okla.

She married Charley Carl Radcliff. He preceded her in death.

She worked in the United States Post Office and retired from the Forgan schools as the head cook.

Survivors include one daughter, Carlene "Butch" Bullard, Forgan, Okal.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forgan United Methodist Church in Forgan with David Mercer presiding.

Burial will be at Forgan Cemetery in Forgan under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver, Okla.
