HULDA I. DICK

TURPIN, Okla. -- Hulda I. Dick, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 8, 1910, to John T. and Mary Becker Dirks in Beaver County.

She married Nickolia Dick April 10, 1932, in Turpin, Okla. He died Jan. 26, 1995.

She attended Ervin Grade School and Buhler High School and graduated from Turpin (Okla.) High School in 1930.

She farmed with her husband in the Turpin community for 57 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Florence Regier and husband Eugene, Turpin, Okla., Shirley Kroeker and husband George, Turpin, Okla., and Lorene Goering and husband Melvin, Santa Fe, N.M.; six grandchildren, Bob Regier and wife Lynette, Alan Regier and wife Jean, Kerry Regier and wife Stacey, Rick Kroeker and wife Lynette, Tinese Ammons and husband Greg, and Nick Kroeker; 11 great-grandchildren, Brandi Parker and husband Chad, Jenny Epp and husband David, Cody Regier, Sarah Regier, Justin and Jake Regier, Rance, Charlie and Kandi Kroeker and Austin and Shanae Ammons; one great-great-granddaughter, Saylor Parker; one brother, Johnny Dirks, Moundridge; and several in-laws, Arold Regier and wife Luella, Chet Windson, Sara Ediger, Lizzie Dyck and Annie Hiebert.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Helen Regier, Vera Windsor and Thelma Boese.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. today at the Turpin Mennonite Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Wintermote presiding.

Burial was in Turpin Mennonite Cemetery.

SHIRLEY J. CALDWELL

TURPIN, Okla. -- Shirley J. Caldwell, 69, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital following a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

She was born Aug. 19, 1935, to George H. and Gladys Ormiston Henage.

She married J.W. "Joe" Caldwell Aug. 23, 1953, in Liberal. He survives.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1953 and received a degree in teaching from Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla., in 1969.

She taught at Southlawn Elementary in Liberal for 22 years.

She was a member of Turpin United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Turpin, Okla., and Rebekah Lodge and NEA, both of Liberal.

She made wedding cakes for many years, and she also enjoyed reading. She and her husband farmed in the Turpin Community.

Other survivors include two sons, Joe Caldwell and wife Johnna, Turpin, Okla., and Dee Caldwell and wife Lisa, Piedmont, Ala.; five grandchildren, Mindy Caldwell, Shawna, Misti, Angela and Casey; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Henage and wife Reba and Melvin Hennage and wife Bonnie, all of Mobile, Ala.; five sisters, Joan Collins and husband Loren, Liberal, Billie Dreher and husband Walter, Pratt, Gaye "Vicky" Caldwell and husband Jim, Besimer, Ala., Cinda Sisneros and husband Ray, Amarillo, Texas, and Terry "Lex" Fox and husband James, New Castle, Okla.; and one sister-in-law, Katie Maslanie, Tampa, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Monte Caldwell, and one brother, Eldee Henage.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Turpin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Lehnert presiding.

Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Turpin United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary.

CLIFTON K. DRUM

BEAVER, Okla. -- Clifton Keith Drum, 88, died Dec. 17, 2004, at his residence in Beaver, Okla.

He was born Jan. 1, 1916, to Clifton K. and Ruth Drum in Beaver County, Okla.

He graduated from Beaver High School in 1933 and college where he became a lawyer.

He served in the United States Navy in World War II.

He was a member of the Rotary, the Masonic Lodge and the Beaver County Historical Society.

Survivors include one son, Keith Drum, Jr., Yorba Linda, Calif.; one daughter, Shannon Knapke, Beaver, Okla.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Beaver First Christian Church.

Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.

ROBERT L. TAYLOR

BEAVER, Okla. -- Robert L. Taylor, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at Beaver County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 30, 1920, to Oliver and Nellie (Parker) Taylor in Gate, Okla.

He married Sarah Louise Campbell Sept. 20, 1952, in Perryton, Texas. She survives.

He worked as a truck driver for Grondyke Transport and did ranch work for Barby Cattle Co. and later was the head custodian and activity bus driver for Beaver High School.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1940 to 1945.

He was a member of the First Christian Church.

He was a member of American Legion, VFW and the Beaver Night Owls.

He loved to cook. He also loved football and baseball.

Other survivors include three daughters, Maxine Mattson, East Moline, Ill., Mickie Trondson, North Branch, Minn., and Dawn Taylor, Forgan, Okla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eloise Collins, Vancouver, Wash., and Mary Yeater, Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Taylor.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church in Beaver, Okla., with Pastor Rick Main presiding.

Burial will be in Gate Cemetery in Gate, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice. Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home of Liberal is in charge of arrangements.

RICHARD R.M. LANIER

TURPIN, Okla. -- Richard Ryan Martin Lanier, 25, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at his residence in Turpin, Okla.

He was born July 21, 1979, to Richard Keith and Cindy (White) Martin in Fort Worth, Texas.

He attended school and obtained his GED and had two years of vocational technical training.

He worked at National Beef in Liberal.

He attended the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his grandmother, Nelda Lanier, Weatherford, Texas; his parents; his wife, Margaret Reid of Irving, Texas; one daughter, Cheyenne, Irving, Texas; one brother, Douglas A. Lanier Jr.; one sister, Christy Lanier, Dell City, Okla.; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Turpin United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the Gray Cemetery.

GUNTHER W. BRANDT

BOISE CITY, Okla. -- Gunther Willie Brandt, 74, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, in Boise City, Okla.

He was born June 23, 1930, to Heirich Wilhelm Brandt and Frieda Ida (Brieske) Brandt in Boise City, Okla.

He married Janet Dixon Dec. 14, 1958, in Campo, Colo.

He graduated from Boise City High School.

He worked at Coley's Food Store for many years before establishing his own business, Brandt's Greenhouse in 1959.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boise City, Okla.

He was a member of the VFW of Boise City and the American Nurseryman Association, the Cactus Society, the Orchid Society and the NRA.

He served in the Marine Corp in the Korean War.

He enjoyed collecting cactus and orchids. He also liked to hunt and fish. He also liked woodworking and building birdhouses.

Survivors include six children, Diane Crawford and husband Jeff, Hugoton, Beth Brandt, Ulysses, Kerri Dreher and husband Ray, Salina, Denisa Porter and husband Ken, Ulysses, Jim Brandt, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Stan Smoot, Boise City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Werner Brandt and wife, Lewistown, Mont.; one sister, Charlott "Lottie" Williams, Boise City, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Boise City, Okla., with Brian Long, Don Lawrence and Frank Lynch presiding.

Burial will be in the Boise City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Cimarron Heritage Center Veterans Memorial and may be left in care of Cimarron Mortuary, P.O. Box 277, Boise City, OK 73933.
