BARFIELD BOMBOY

Karen Rena` Barfield Bomboy, age 46 of Headrick, passed away early Thursday morning, October 13, 2005 at
Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Rena` was born on November 6, 1958 to Ollie Dural and Nina Charlene (Smith) Lankford in Childress, Texas. A
member of the First Baptist Church of Headrick, Rena` loved painting, crocheting, needlework, embroidering,
gardening and spending time with her family who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her parents, Dural and Charlene Lankford of Childress, Texas; three children, Starla Klein
and husband Michael of Martha, Oklahoma, Forrest Barfield and Elliott Bomboy both of Headrick, Oklahoma;
two sisters, Durlene Worthington and husband Joe of Childress, Texas and Brenda Nations and husband Dickie
of Erick, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Lillian Klein and Rylan Klein of Martha and numerous loving aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Funeral services for Karen Rena` Barfield Bomboy are scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. at
the First Baptist Church in Headrick with Rev. Dan Lambert and Rev. Jim Flynn officiating. Interment will follow
in the Headrick Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Corine Bridges

Corine Bridges age 71, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005 at her home in Altus, Oklahoma.
She was born December 14, 1933 to Felix Williams and Alberta (Payne) Williams in Oktaha, Oklahoma.
Corine and Ulysees Bridges were united in marriage on March 5, 1954 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. During her husband’s Military service, she received several
awards for her outstanding support. She retired from AAFES after 30 years of service. She was a long time
active member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Altus; she worked diligently and untiringly with the youth
department and Sunday school. She often said it was very rewarding to sow into the lives of young people. She
possessed such a strong character throughout the community. She was an encourager to all she came in
contact with, this is the reason she was known as “Grandmother” in Altus and vicinity. The joy of reading her
bible molded her into being a great woman of God. Prov 31:28-31 states, her children arise and call her
blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm
is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she
has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. SHE IS DEFINITELY OUR HERO!!
She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jimmy Carl Bridges.
Corine is lovingly survived by her husband Ulysees Bridges, of the home; seven children, Lynda Gilchrist
and husband Jeff of California, Susan Rolen and husband Gaylon Sr. of Ennis, Texas, Bucket Bridges and wife
DeeDee of Altus, Oklahoma, Donna Lee and husband Darrell of Altus, Oklahoma, Anita Godsey and husband
Edward of Wichita Falls, Texas, Tressie Arrington and husband Solomon of Altus, Oklahoma and Shantell
Bridges of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by three sisters, Kathryn Hunt of Ft. Worth, Texas, Lorraine
Young of Ft. Worth, Texas and Elerine Anderson of Dallas, Texas and one brother, Ezell Williams of Ft. Worth,
Texas, twenty seven grand children, twenty eight great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews and many
friends.
Funeral Services for Corine Bridges will be held Monday, October 17, 2005 at 4:00 pm at Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gaylon Rolen and Rev. Victor West officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus
City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Corine Bridges will greet friends Sunday evening October 16, 2005 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Ann Braddock

Ann Braddock, 80, long time resident of Altus, passed away Friday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Reverend Mike
Trachman and Father Buddy Dugan will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Braddock was born on October 22, 1924 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Milton & Bertha Hardy. She graduated from
the University of Oklahoma in 1946 with a B.A. in Letters. While attending OU, Braddock was a member of the
Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, Chi Delta Phi (honorary literary society), Phi Beta Kappa, and president of the
Mortar Board. She was the Outstanding Senior Woman on campus in 1945. Braddock served on the Advisory
Board of the OU Alumni Council, vice president of the Oklahoma Bar Auxiliary, board member of the Jackson
County Welfare Department, Salvation Army board, and the ACMI House. She was a long time treasurer of
Episcopal Churchwomen and served as co-chair of the South Main Bargain Barrel for over 20 years. Braddock
served as treasurer of Chapter CM of P.E.O. for many years and was s two-term president. She was a charter
member of Friends of the Library and served as treasurer. Braddock was also involved with the Museum of the
Western Prairie, Coffee Cup Bunch, the local Panhellenic organization, and the Jackson County Republican
Party.
Braddock married Thomas George Braddock on March 26, 1948, who preceded her in death. She later
married William Oden of Lubbock, Texas in the fall of 1999. Oden passed away in November of 2000.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Suzie Braddock, her daughter and son-in-law, Dana
and Darryl Gatti, and her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Don Abernathy; and 6 grandchildren, Adam,
Rachel, and Beth Braddock, and Ashley, Braddock, and Abby Abernathy, all of Altus.
The family will greet friends Monday, August 29, 2005 from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Southern Prairie Library or Western Prairie Museum.

Patsy M. Hall-Brown

Patsy M. Hall-Brown, age 51 passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005 in Tyler, Texas.
Pat was born March 28, 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Andrew J. and Annie M. Hall.
She moved to Altus in 1966 and attended Altus Public Schools. She was so devoted to helping others that she
established the business Healing Hands Private Caregivers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie M. Hall; her infant daughter Stephanie; three sisters, Paula M.
Hall, Tiara L. Hall, Brenda J. Tomez and grandparents Sol and Daisy Hall, Samuel and Olivia Coleman, and
David Hart.
Pat is survived by one son, Kirk (Winona) Hall; and one daughter, Andrea Brown of Altus, Oklahoma;
grandchildren, Ka Nesha, Sabrina, Jackie, Cory, Ralph, Amnia; her father and step-mother, Andrew J. and
Rosalyn Hall of Altus, Oklahoma; four sisters, Margaret Shaw of Moore, Oklahoma, Sondra Webb and husband
Thomas of El Reno, Oklahoma; Shenetta and Daniel Roblez of Altus, Oklahoma; and Kathy Hall of Altus,
Oklahoma; one brother, Terry Hall of Pascagoula Mississippi; one step-brother, Jeremy Harris of The Azores;
one step-sister, Erica Harris of Houston, Texas; one grandmother Ollie Hart of Altus, Oklahoma; friend Evelyn
Frazier-Solomon; finance Ernest G. Williams and several nieces and nephews and host of family and friends.
Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 2:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will
follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will greet guest Wednesday, June 15, 2005 from 7:00 until 8:00 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Dr. Robert Henry Burdick

Dr. Robert Henry Burdick of Altus, Oklahoma, age 82, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.
He was born to Frank and Elsie (Kitchen) Burdick on September 19, 1922 in Bristow, Oklahoma.
Robert married Fern Burdick on July 21, 1942 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gideons
from 1970 until present, Masons from 1952 until present, Salvation Army Board, Chiropractic Assoc. and was a
Jackson County Memorial Hospital Volunteer.
Robert was survived by his loving wife Fern Burdick of the home, two daughters, Dr. Paulette Woods and husband
John of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Janis Jackson and husband Robert of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sister Dona
Wright of Denton, Texas, brothers Richard Burdick and wife Marilyn of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Harold Burdick of
Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his grandchildren Dr. Lori Jordan, Dave Chaffin, Wesley Jackson and
Russell Jackson and one great- grandchild Ryan Jordan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Youngblood and JoAnn Wheat, and brothers; Dr. Frank
Burdick Jr. and Billy Burdick.
Services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00am at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff
Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will greet guests Friday, January 7, 2005 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Jack B. Bufkin

Jack B. Bufkin, age 84 of Altus, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 1, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial
Hospital.

Jack was born in Decatur, Mississippi on September 1, 1921 to Frank and Lillian (McCoy) Bufkin. Moving to Sulphur
Springs, Texas as a young boy, Jack joined the United States Marines and served for seven years during World
War II. Leaving the Marines, Jack joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for
twenty-eight years, retiring on September 30, 1970 as a Senior Master Sergeant working as an Aircraft Maintenance
Supervisor. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he worked as a mechanic and later learned the skill of carpentry
working until he was seventy-eight years old. Jack was a recipient of many service medals which include, two United
States Defense Medals awarded for honorary acts of services, two United States Victory Medals, one United States
Semper Pidelis Good Conduct Medal and six Superior Secondary School Medals.

For sixty years, Jack was married to the love of his life, Theresa J. (Tatum) Bufkin. Together they have five
surviving children. Four daughters, Tonya Jones and husband Lee of St. Augustine, Florida, J.B. Bufkin and
husband J.D. Jones of Covington, Virginia, Jude Watkins and husband Bull of Altus, Oklahoma and Kathy Andersen
and husband Charlie of Altus, Oklahoma and one son, Bruce. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren,
Tommy Myernick of New Jersey, Tiffany Watkins of Tennessee, Larissa Bourne and husband Paul of Texas and Jay
Watkins of Altus; one great-grandson, Jackson Bourne of Texas; one sister, Vivian Kids of Sulphur Springs, Texas
along with many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his mother
and father and one brother, Billy Bufkin.

Funeral services for Jack B. Bufkin will be Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 4 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Internment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family of Jack B. Bufkin will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m.
until 8:30 p.m.

Kailyn Grace Brola

Kailyn Grace Brola infant daughter of James and Cori (Burgamy) Brola passed away Wednesday,
December 7, 2005 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by her parents James and Cori Brola of Greenville, Texas; two sisters Alexi Brola of
Greenville, Texas, Aubrey Brola of Altus, Oklahoma; maternal grandmother Carol Burgamy of Greenville,Texas,
maternal grandfather Tim Burgamy and wife Sandra of Milledgeville, Georgia; paternal grandmother Jane Brola
of Altus, Oklahoma, paternal grandfather Gary Brola of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her aunt
and uncle Tonya and Tom Pogue of Altus, Oklahoma, Aunt Jamie Childers of Altus,Oklahoma, Uncle Jason
Brola of Dallas, Texas; cousins Kaileigh Pogue, Anna Beth Pogue, Ryan Childers,Taylor Busby.

Graveside service for Kailyn Grace Brola is scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at
Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Margie Van Oostrum officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Harvey Allen Blair
Harvey Allen Blair, age 69, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away at Jackson Co. Memorial Hospital on Friday evening
December 9, 2005.
He was born on April 18, 1936 to Rolland Boyd Blair and Norene {Torkleson} Blair in Augusta, Kansas.
In December 1970 Harvey married Patricia Ann {Trumbo} in Denver, Colorado. Harvey worked for Bell Tech. of
Sierra-Vista, Arizona on communication data for radar, as a software engineer. He is a member of the Masonic
Lodge of Altus.
Harvey is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann his parents and one daughter Margaret Louise Blair.
Harvey is survived by four sons David Allen Blair and his wife Gayle of Colorado, Richard Eugene Blair and wife
Kathie of Tucson, Arizona, Bill Arthur Blair of Tucson, Arizona, and Bob Glen Blair and wife Alexandra of
Huachuca City Arizona. Two daughters, Dorothy Ann Blair Rossen of Iowa, and Laura Beth Blair. Two brothers
Bob Blair and wife Rita and Boyd Blair. Harvey has 9 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services for Harvey Allen Blair is 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel.

Mateo V. Baeza, age 74 of Altus, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at St. Anthony Hospital in
Oklahoma City.

Mr. Baeza was born on September 21, 1932, in Mexico to Tiofilo and Felicitas (Valeriano) Baeza. In 1952, he
married his wife, Patricia, and they spent forty-eight wonderful years together before her death in 2000.
Moving to the Altus area in 1969, Mateo farmed and worked in the agriculture business until his death. Known
for his hard work, Mateo was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family
and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, Esmundo and Artemio and one daughter, Fransisca,
Mateo is survived by nine children, Armando Baeza of Mexico, Eddie Baeza and wife Victoria of Dumas, Texas,
Elodia DelaCruz of Norman, Oklahoma, Hortencia (Tisha) Crowder of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Gracie Martinez
and husband Raul of Altus, Delia Jackson of Wichita, Kansas, Robert Baeza and wife Dori of Amarillo, Texas,
Israel Baeza and wife Barbara of Amarillo, Texas and Jose (Freddie) Baeza of Houston, Texas; two sisters,
Petra Avila and husband Juan of Mexico and Lilia Rodriguez of Andrews, Texas; three brothers, Urbano Baeza
and wife Arcelia of Midland, Texas, Domingo Baeza of Stratford, Texas and Ismael Baeza and wife Jesus of
Mexico; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces other
relatives and friends.

A wake for Mateo V. Baeza will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2006.
Funeral services will be Saturday, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. with Rev. Federico Pena
officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of
Altus.

BARBER

Shirley Ann Barber, age 70 of Blair, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 4, 2007.

Mrs. Barber was born on September 23, 1936, to E.B. and Juanita (Scruggs) Gardner in Tucson, Arizona.
Raised in Southwest Oklahoma, she married Robert Lloyd Barber on May 18, 1956 and he preceded her in
death on June 19, 1995. With Robert in the United States Air Force and a member of the United States Border
Patrol, they lived in many places and made many moves. They moved back to Southwest Oklahoma in 1987, to
enjoy their retirement, but Shirley worked several years as an automation clerk for Airlift Training in Civil Service
before her full retirement. Gardening, golf and reading were some of her hobbies, but being the “Nintendo
Grandma Queen” and spending time with her family and friends were her favorite pastimes.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law, Rick Howell, in 2006, she is survived by three
children, Jo Brazell of Blair, Jamie Howell of Corpus Christi, Texas and Robert Barber, Jr. and wife Josie of
Morristown, Tennessee; one sister, Nema Walker and husband Johnie of Blair; one brother, Bob Gardner and
wife Claudine of Grove, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Carter Brazell of Travis AFB, California, Shonda Brazell
of Blair, Sarah Howell of New Orleans, Louisiana, Robert Barber and Brandy Barber of Morristown, Tennessee
along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Barber will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Private inurnment services will follow at a later date
under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family of Shirley Barber will greet friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Lowell-
Tims Funeral Home.
