Deadmon

Charles Deadmon, 80, was born in Reed, Oklahoma, and died April 22 in Silsbee, Texas.
Charles was raised in the Victory community, graduating from Victory High School. During his summers he spent
months with custom combine crews cutting wheat in the area of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. He enlisted in the
U S Army in 1946, serving in the Army of Occupation in Korea for over a year and was considered a World War II
veteran. In 1948, he became a student at the University of Central Oklahoma (known then as Central State College)
in Edmond, Oklahoma. He and Marianne Dial were united in marriage in Eldorado, Oklahoma in 1950.
In 1949, Charles began seismic work that would take him to most of the Western states. The opportunity to travel
enabled Charles and his family the chance to visit sites of interest, experience different cultures, and make many
life-long friends. In 1961, he began working for the federal government. He first worked at the Nevada Test Site near
Las Vegas, Nevada during the testing of the atomic bombs. The remainder of his twenty years of federal service was
engaged in monitoring earthquakes while living in Puerto Rico, Alaska, and on the East Coast. Retiring in 1981, he
returned to seismic work, retiring again in 1989. He then began a new career in security in southeast Texas, finally
retiring in 1998.
Charles was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Silsbee where he sang in the choir. For several
years, he served the church by answering the office phones and greeting visitors.
His parents, Jim and Lizzie Burden Deadmon, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Marianne Deadmon
of Silsbee; daughter and husband, Cynthia and Roy King; grandchildren, Shari King, Toby King and wife Meredith,
with their children, Riley, Tommy, and Baby King all of Houston, Texas. One uncle, Buford Deadman, of New
Jersey and an aunt, Doris Hinson of Bedford, Texas, also survive.
His hobbies included working, photography, and collections. His photography hobby took him to all 254 counties in
Texas where he photographed the courthouses. He loved music of any kind, from classical to pop to country to
gospel. He was a kind, faithful individual who loved his family, church, and friends. If remembrances are chosen they
may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Eldorado or the Victory Cemetery Fund.
Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Davis of Altus; Henry Goodin; Jack Hinson of Colleyville, Texas; Roy King of
Houston, Texas; Toby King of Houston; Elden Minor of Tulsa. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from the Victory
community.
A memorial service will be held in Silsbee, Texas on May 1. Visitation will be at the Lowell-Tims Chapel in Eldorado
on Saturday, April 25 beginning at 10 am. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 4 pm in Eldorado with Cecil
Deadman officiating. Military honors administered by the US Army Honor Guard from Ft. Sill.

Jerry Dale DeFord

Jerry Dale DeFord, age 63 former Altus resident, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 in Mustang, Oklahoma.
He was born December 28, 1942 in Victory, Oklahoma to Arthur and Mattie (Pearce) DeFord. Jerry graduated
from Altus High School and then attended Altus Junior College and Southwestern Oklahoma State College. He was
a sales representative for Gensco Oil Company for many years before he retired.
He is survived by his son Jerry DeFord, Jr. of Alpharetta, Georgia; one sister Pauline Moore of Altus, Oklahoma;
three brothers, Houston DeFord and wife Mollie of Austin, Texas, Harvey DeFord and wife Dorothy of Altus,
Oklahoma, Buddy DeFord and wife Carolyn of Amarillo, Texas. Jerry is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews,
other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Francis Graham, Imogene Risinger, two brothers; Billy DeFord
and Delbert DeFord.
Memorial Service for Jerry DeFord is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeal Home.

Katy Floriene Dehtan

Katy Floriene (Bonds) Dehtan was ushered into the presence of her loving Savior on March 16, 2004. She was
born April 20, 1926 to James F. and Rachel Bonds at Duke, Oklahoma.

She is survived by two sisters Mamie Myers and Georgia Baker of Dallas, Texas; three step-sons, Jackie, Donnie,
and Mike Dehtan; several step-grandchildren; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

She grew up in Duke, and graduated from Duke High School with the Class of 1944. She moved to Dallas, Texas
in 1951 and worked for Republic National Life Insurance Company. She moved back to Duke in the late fifties where
she met and married Erron Dehtan on October 5, 1962. She later moved back to Dallas and worked again for
Republic National Life until her retirement. She was residing at Rockwall Nursing Center at the time of her death,
where she was a favorite with the staff.

Floriene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one stepson.

She was a member of Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas, and was always a care giver to her family.

The family wishes to thank the Rockwall Nursing Center for their loving care for her.

Graveside services were held at Prairie Hill Cemetery, Duke, Oklahoma, at 1:30 pm, Friday, March 19, 2004 with
Rev. Marty Barnes officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus,
Oklahoma.

Maria A. Delgadillo

Maria A. Delgadillo, 58, of Altus, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008, at her home in Altus.
Maria was born March 1, 1950, in Bellevue, Texas, to Manuel and Dominga (Reyna) Longoria. She grew up in Texas
and married in Altus, Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Michigan where they lived until 1976. As a young
woman on her own with six children, Maria moved back to Altus to be with her other family members. She worked
hard raising her children and working in housekeeping for many families in Altus. Maria married Rodolfo Delgadillo in
1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She loved to read, decorate and paint her home, and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of the Templo Sinai Assembly of God Church in Altus where she met the Lord after her illness.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Rudy Delgadillo of the home in Altus; her children, Rose Linda Tovar of Yukon,
Angela Dina Tovar and husband Joe of Altus, Kathy Miller and Jim of Altus, Edward Gonzales and wife Melissa of Fort
Jackson, South Carolina, Rogelio Gonzales and wife Naomi of Garland, Texas, and Erasmo Gonzales and wife Leticia of
Altus; her mother, Dominga Reyna of Altus; her brothers and sisters, Gloria Smart, Berta Delgado, Cecilia Hensley,
Elvida Bowen, Stephen Longoria, Helen Longoria, Lucy Torres, Minga Graham, Robert Longoria, Johnny Frescas, and
Ruben Frescas. Twenty-three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive her.
Her father, Manuel Longoria, and four brothers, Billy Longoria, Charlie Longoria, Sammy Longoria, and Timothy
Longoria preceded Maria in death.

Viewing for friends will begin on Saturday at noon at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. A Memorial Service for family and
friends will be held at 5:30 pm Sunday, June 15, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 16, 2008, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home with Reverend Joe
Tovar officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. A
luncheon will be hosted by Templo Sinai Assembly of God in Altus after the Committal Service.

Ila Juanita Dempsey

Ila Juanita Dempsey, age 90, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 6, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the House of Prayer in Blair, with Rev. Mike
Holden officiating. Interment will follow at Centerville Cemetery, East of Blair. Arrangements are under the direction
of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dempsey was born on December 4, 1913 in Latish, Oklahoma to Henry Lee (Jack) Dean and Myrtle Lillian
(Trammell) Dean.

On December 16, 1931, Juanita married Clifton Dempsey in Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on
September 16, 2002. She was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family and church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Raymond Dean, Floyd R. Dean, Covall Dean;
five sisters, Daisy O’dell, Florence Bennett, Julia Brown, Opal McKinney and Cleo Boling.

Juanita is lovingly survived by her daughter Edith Cantrell and husband James (Jim) of Bethany, Oklahoma; one
brother, Coy Dean and wife JoAnn of Vernon, Texas; one sister, Leola Lance of Houston, Texas; two grandsons,
James Randall Cantrell and wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Richard (Rick) Dean and wife Cyndi of
Poetry, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Lindsey Cantrell, Lauren Cantrell, Austin Cantrell, Rachel Marie Cantrell and
James Jonathan (J.J.) Cantrell, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Aubrey Dennis

Aubrey Dan Dennis, born September 10, 1930 in Blair, Oklahoma, son of Osie F. and Oma Velda Dennis, died
June 25, 2009, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Mr. Dennis graduated from Norman High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where he joined the
United States Navy in July 1952. He started as a yeoman on a navy ship and transitioned to Naval Cadet Training
where he received his navy wings and his naval commission as a naval officer in 1954.
His first duty station was VS-30 in Norfolk, Virginia in 1954 where he flew anti-submarine aircraft.
In 1955, he joined VR-31 in Norfolk as Lieutenant, Junior Grade and a carry-on delivery pilot. He met his wife,
Sallie Kay Tebo, in Norfolk and they married on June 8, 1958.
In 1958, he was stationed in Naples, Italy with VR-24 flying on and off aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean.
In 1960, he was stationed in Pensacola, Florida as a flight instructor where he molded the skills of young navy pilots.
In 1964, he was stationed again in Naples, Italy with VR-24 as a senior officer where he delivered critical
ammunition and supplies to all aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean.
In 1966, he was transferred to Kingsville, Texas with VT-22 where he trained young fighter pilots in advanced aerial
tactics.
In 1968, he was transferred to VRC-50 in Atsugi, Japan where he flew in combat missions over Viet Nam for two
years before he was shot down and severely injured.
In 1970, he was transferred to the Naval Aviation Training Command in Memphis, Tennessee where he continued to
fly and was the officer in charge.
In May 1972, he retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and moved back to Blair, Oklahoma. He has
been raising cattle and farming on his Flying D Ranch for the last 37 years.
Mr. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sallie Kay, and their four children: Audie Dennis, Donna Duff, Tommy Dennis,
and Kimberly Hill, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services for Aubrey Dan Dennis will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the First Baptist Church
in Blair with Reverend Tommy Dennis officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Lashawn Dennis

Lashawn Dennis, Infant Boy, passed away Monday, February 16, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Lashawn was born December 22, 2003 in Oklahoma City.
He is loving survived by; his parents Kevin Lee Dennis and Roshell Denice Hendricks of Altus, Oklahoma, 2 sisters;
Sharial and Aaliyah Hendricks of Altus, Oklahoma, one brother Kevin L Jasper of Elk City, Oklahoma, Grandmother,
Wanda Hendricks, Altus, Oklahoma, Grandfather, Jerry Joe Crawford of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one Aunt Shannon and
William Powell, of Altus, Oklahoma, one Uncle, William Hendricks of Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Johnny and Mary Dennis Sr. and one Aunt Connie Hendricks.
Services have been scheduled for Friday, 10:00am February 20, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Chapel. Interment at the Altus
City Cemetery, Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Walter Clayton Deskins

Walter Clayton Deskins, 51, of Hollis, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Amarillo, Texas.

Walter was born November 6, 1955, in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was the son of Linton and Bobbie (Luster)
Deskins.

Walter started school in San Diego, California, and was there until the 5th grade. His family moved to London,
England, where he attended the American Military School for three years. At the age of 14, Walter’s family moved
back to San Diego and he attended school there until his junior year. The family moved to the Hollis area in 1972
where he attended his senior year at Arnett High School and graduated in 1973. Walter entered the United States Air
Force at the age of 26 and served from 1981 to 1983 in England.

Walter loved to fish, hunt, and was also an avid deep-sea fisherman. He could fix anything and was always very
precise in his work which included painting and working on motorcycles. He also loved playing baseball and music.

Walter is survived by his mother, Bobbie Deskins, of Hollis; his father, Linton Deskins of Tipton; one sister,
Marquita Meeks and husband Jimmy Meeks, Jr. of Tipton; two nieces, Amanda Meeks and Allison Meeks, both of
Tipton; his maternal grandmother, Goldie Luster of Pikeville, Kentucky; one uncle, Sollie Luster, Jr. of Pikeville,
Kentucky; three aunts, Billie Joyce Luster of Pikeville, Ruby Adkins and husband Jim of Marietta, Georgia, and Betty
McCown and husband John Ed of Jefferson City, Tennessee; numerous cousins and his precious canine companion,
“Udo”.

Walter was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sollie Luster, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Hollis Church of Christ with Mark Lance
officiating. Interment will be in the Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville, Kentucky, at a later date. Arrangements are
under the direction o our funeral home in Hollis, Patterson Greer Funeral Home.

Zilpha “Lou” Dickenson

Zilpha Lou (Dicus) Dickenson was born on October 6, 1930 at Dustin Oklahoma to Ruby Lee and Henry Warner
Dicus. She passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005. She lived and went to school in Dustin until 1948 when she married
John T. Rolston on July 17th. Then moved to Weleetka and then to Okmulgee where John T. went to Tech school and
their first child, Jeannie, was born. Two years later their second child, Chuck was born.

After she and John divorced in 1959, she moved to East St. Louis, Ill., where she went into the nursing field, working
in the hospital there. In 1973, Lou moved back to Oklahoma City, where she lived until moving to Altus in 1980. She
went back to school and earned her CNA license and went to work at Jackson County Hospital. She worked for 2-3
years before going into private nursing, caring for terminally ill patients, ushering several into Heaven with her constant
care and prayer. Lou was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and of the Altus/Mangum Cancer Support Group. She was a
charter member of the Tornado Alley Road Riders where she served as the Public Relations Director.

Lou accepted Jesus Christ in to her heart at the age of 15 and has remained a staunch believer since. She was
baptized in the First Baptist Church in Dustin, where she was a Sunday school teacher and Brownie leader. After
moving to Altus she became a member at Highland Heights United Methodist Church, and has been an inspiration to
many who attended there.

Lou was preceded in death by one son, Chuck Rolston, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one daughter, Jeannie Huber and husband Dick, two grand daughters, Tammi Walbeck and
husband Mark and PJ Baoucher, all of Altus, Oklahoma; two grand sons, Johnnie Rolston and Donnie Rolston and wife
Heather, all of St. Louis, MO, four great grand children, Cody and Kristi Walbeck and Dusty and Nina Boucher of
Altus, three sisters and one brother, all of eastern Oklahoma.

Services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 10:00am at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the
Dustin Cemetery in Dustin, Oklahoma.

Family will greet friends Friday, July 15,2005 from 6:30 until 8:00pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

DICKSON

Gatrina Renee Dickson, age 35 of Altus, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 18, 2006, at Baptist Medical
Center in Oklahoma City.

Trina Bryant was born on January 4, 1971, to Rick Bryant and Connie (Wallace) Labrecque in Altus. She attended
Washington Elementary and graduated from Altus High School in 1989. On December 31, 2002, she married the love
of her life, Blake Dickson. A member of the First Baptist Church in Altus, Trina was also a lifetime member of the VFW
Ladies Auxiliary. Of all the things in life that Trina enjoyed, spending time with her husband and three girls, whom she
dearly loved, was her favorite.

Preceded in death by one brother, Michael Scott Bryant in 1997; one nephew, Ryan Huckaby in 1992; a grandfather,
Oliver Wallace and grandmother, Gertrude Bryant, Trina is survived by her husband, Blake and three daughters, Taylor,
Morgan and Bailey Dickson, all of the home in Altus; her parents, Rick and Ann Bryant of Altus and Thomas and
Connie Labrecque of Altus; four brothers, John Bryant of Altus, Cody Huckaby and wife Shelia of Altus, Keith
Huckaby and wife Shanna of Snyder and Brad Labrecque and wife Mandy of Altus; one sister Jolene Labrecque of
Altus, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Sandra Dickson of Eustace, Texas; grandmother, Evelyn Wallace of
Altus and many cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Gatrina Renee Dickson will be on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Kendrix officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction
of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
