Ernestine Hale Frederick

Ernestine Hale Frederick passed away in Jackson County Memorial Hospital Sunday, May 9, 2004 from
pneumonia following emergency abdominal surgery. She was a longtime Altus resident, activist, civic leader and
minister’s wife.

Ernestine Hale was born to Ernest and Lucy Doss Hale on March 9, 1920 in Afton, Texas, attended Spur High
School and Texas Christian University. She married Joe B. Frederick on September 23, 1939. Mrs. Frederick
helped her husband pastor churches in Llano, Grand Prairie, Marfa, Dallas and Perryton, Texas and also Altus.
A pioneer in the limited field of women’s theology, Mrs. Frederick pastored her own church in Notla, Texas and
was a highly-respected speaker on the national level for the Disciples of Christ denomination.

Mrs. Frederick was a retired teacher and belonged to numerous organizations and activities in the Altus and
Oklahoma area involving education, literature and the arts. She was also a practicing minister, performing
weddings and funerals throughout her long career.

Mrs. Frederick was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joe B., in 1997 and her son Marion Paul in
1980. She is survived by her daughter Joan Frederick of San Antonio, Texas; her grand-daughter Dahlia Denton
of Austin, Texas; her sister, Marian Hale Nugent of Grand Prairie, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and
friends in the Altus community.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Monday, May 10. Funeral services
are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 11 at the First United Methodist Church in Altus with the Rev. Doug
Burr officiating. Internment will be in the Altus City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Altus Lions Club or
Western Oklahoma State College. Arrangements are with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Meddie Kathryn Freeman

Meddie Kathryn Freeman, age 80 of Altus, and formerly of Eldorado, passed away early Saturday morning,
March 12, 2005 at Plantation Village Nursing Home.
Kathryn was born in Eldorado, OK on February 27, 1925 to Frank Moss Easley and Melissa Kathryn (Luker)
Easley.
On January 22, 1950 Kathryn married Oliver Perry Freeman in Willow, OK. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Kathryn was a farm homemaker all of her adult life and in her later years enjoyed being a part-time custodian for
the Eldorado Public Schools.
She is survived by one son, Carroll and his wife Kathy of Houston, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Jeri Kelly, Chad
Kelly, Jonathan Kelly, Lesli Kelly, Jason Stephens and Chad Stephens; 2 brothers, Gordon Easley, Mulberry,
Arkansas and Lawton Easley, Van Horn, Texas and numerous other relatives and friends.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter, Marsha Elaine Kelly and 1 sister, Thelma
Shumaker.
Services are scheduled for Monday, March 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church Of The Nazarene in Altus, OK.
Rev. Gary Bohannon, Altus, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will be greeting friends on Sunday, March 13 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.

FRY

Roland Clarence (R.C.) Fry, age 89 of Altus, passed away Thursday morning, May 11, 2006 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Fry was born on August 23, 1916, in Marion, Kansas to Frank Richard and Bertha (Rath) Fry. After
graduation from high school he attended business college for two years before serving in the United States
Navy. He married Dorothy Cobb on March 18, 1939 in Purcell, Oklahoma and was a member of the Masonic
Lodge, the American Legion and First Baptist Church of Altus. Working for the United States Bureau of
Reclamation for a number of years, he retired from the U. S. Postal Service after seventeen years of service.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Altus; three daughters, Connie Dubnick
of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Betty Hammack of Schertz, Texas and Ronda Leitenberger of St. Petersberg,
Florida; seven grandchildren, Dewayne James, Teresa Dunlap, Leslie Dubnick, Dena Farrell, Justin Hammack,
Michelle Sinner, Chris Lyons; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Fry of
Kingston, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Roland Clarence (R.C.) Fry will be Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Altus City
Cemetery officiated by Reverend James (Slim) Crabtree. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.

FRY

Dorothy Marie Fry, age 86 of Altus, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 20, 2006 at Plantation Village
Nursing Center in Altus.

Dorothy was born on September 28, 1919 in Lexington, Oklahoma to Harvey J. and Cora Allie (Howeth) Cobb.
On March 18, 1939, Dorothy married Roland Clarence (R.C.) Fry and they spent sixty-seven years together
before his death on May 11, 2006. Moving to Altus in 1941, Dorothy was a long time member of the First
Baptist Church of Altus and worked as a grocery cashier for Woods IGA Grocery and United Grocery on South
Main. She also worked at the Singer Sewing Center where she taught sewing lessons and later owned and
operated Dorothy’s Day Care in her home. Her last working years were spent as the activity director at Altus
House Nursing Home and a Vernon, Texas Nursing Center.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Golda Edwards and Vera Miles, she is survived by
three daughters, Connie Dubnick of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Betty Hammack of Schertz, Texas and Ronda
Leitenberger of St. Petersberg, Florida; seven grandchildren, Dewayne James, Teresa Dunlap, Leslie Dubnick,
Dena Farrell, Justin Hammack, Michelle Sinner, and Chris Lyons; four great-grandchildren; three great-great
grandchildren; one brother, Albert Cobb of Purcell, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Dorothy Marie Fry will be Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Altus City Cemetery
with Reverend James (Slim) Crabtree officiating. Public viewing will last until 9 a.m. Thursday before services.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

David Fulton

David Lynn Fulton, 59, of Hollis, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at the Southwest Medical
Center in Lawton.

David was born December 1, 1947, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Robert Leon and Rosa Maxine (Hollis) Fulton.
David attended Hollis Public Schools and graduated from Hollis High School in 1966. He then attended college
at Cameron University for one year before enrolling at Southwestern State College in Weatherford where he
graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education. He taught school in Hollis for 26 years and served as coach
and Athletic Director. A few months after his retirement from the school system in 2001, David served as the
Harmon Election Board Secretary from 2001 to 2006.
He was the Oklahoma Coaches Association Region Athletic Director of the year in Region 4 from 1994 to 1995
and the Assistant Coach Senior Bowl in 1994. He received special recognition of the Oklahoma Football
Coaches Association for outstanding work as a football coach in 1996. David served on the Board of the
Oklahoma Coaches Association Region 4 from 2000 to 2001. He was a hero to some, coach to many, and a
friend to all. David was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hollis.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maxine Fulton, and a brother-in-law, Bart Robinson, he is
survived by his wife, Deana Fulton, of the home in Hollis; one daughter Shannon Kardokus and husband Merl of
Oklahoma City; one son, Robert Fulton and wife Jamae of Norman; one brother, Rodney Fulton of Springdale,
Arkansas; one sister, Lea Ann Fulton of Amarillo, Texas; two step-children, Lindsey Davidson of Edmond and
Colby Davidson of Gould; two grandchildren, Carson Kardokus and Finley Fulton, and a host of many other
family members and friends.

Funeral Services for David Fulton will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, December 9, 2006, at the First United
Methodist Church in Hollis with Reverend Wilmer Cooper and Reverend Sally Barber officiating. Interment will
follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of our Funeral Home in Hollis,Patterson Greer
Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Maria Oralia Garcia

Maria Oralia Garcia, 41, of Elmer, Oklahoma, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City on December
21, 2007.

Maria was born July 2, 1966, in Portland, Oregon, to Felipe and Juanita (Perez) Garcia. She graduated from
Southside High School near Elmer, Oklahoma, and participated in cheerleading, softball, and basketball. Maria later
graduated from the Dallas Art Institute. She loved photography, art, cooking, and sewing. She was also a bank
teller until recently.

Preceded in death by her father, Felipe Garcia, Maria is survived by one daughter, Star D. San Miguel; her
mother, Juanita Garcia; two sisters, Sylvia Garcia and Margarita Garcia; four brothers, Felipe Garcia, Jr., Rolando
Garcia and wife Vicky; Jorge Garcia, and Felix Garcia; and four nephews, Dylon Garcia, Jorge Garcia, Jr., Michael
Garcia, and Isaac Garcia.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, Dec 28, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus.

Funeral Services for Maria Garcia will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 29 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church
with Reverend Joseph H. Arledge officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

William Stanford Garner

William Stanford Garner, age 91, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Integris Medical Center in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma.
Stanford was born October 18, 1913 in Byars, Oklahoma to Frank and Meddie Garner and was along time resident
of Byars. He graduated from High School in Byars before attending Oklahoma University.
On July 12, 1941, he and Mildred Garner were united in marriage at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Together they moved
to Altus in 1950 to buy the John Deere Company with his brother Rex. In 1955 he became the sole owner of the
John Deere Store and operated it until 1975. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Altus.
Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred, his son, William Kenneth Garner; two brothers,
Rex and Frank; three sisters, Arline Robison, Marcelle Burk and Janice Sheppard.
He is survived by two grandsons, William Scott Garner and Garrett Gannon Garner and a host of nieces and
nephews.
Funeral Services for William Stanford Garner will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 3:00pm at Lowell-Tims
Chapel with Rev. Eugene Foreman officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.

Mary Alice Garrison

Mary Alice Garrison age 89, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2005, in Altus, Oklahoma.
She was born September 4, 1915, to J.W. and Ellen (Colville) Dicks in Elmer, Oklahoma.
On December 27, 1932 in Sayre, Oklahoma, Mary Alice and U.S. Garrison were united in marriage. He preceded her
in death January 9, 1993. Mary Alice was a 79 year member of the Elmer Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and
quilting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, U.S. Garrison, son-in-law, Bill Gay, granddaughter, Cara Gay and
an infant brother and sister.
Mary Alice is survived by her daughter, Jane Gay of Altus, Oklahoma, one son, Phillip Garrison and wife Margie of
Houston, Texas, four grandchildren, U.S. Garrison III, Phillip Garrison II, Stephanie Gay and Paul Lamle and eight
great grandchildren, Tara Paugh, Tyler Owens, Chelsea Owens, Kaitlyn Gay, Alexa Garrison, Piersen Garrison, Randi
Diann Lamle and Chase Lamle and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Elmer Methodist Church. Interment will follow at
the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends Saturday, August 27, 2005 from 6:00 until 7:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Thomas S. Garrison

Thomas S. Garrison, 78, of Altus, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Southwestern Medical Center in
Lawton.

Tom was born November 27, 1927, in Catoosa, Oklahoma, to Jacob F. and Minerva (Leach) Garrison. He
started school in Catoosa and then attended several schools in Oklahoma while growing up due to his father working
for the railroad. He later joined the United States Army and served as a payroll clerk during World War II.

Tom married Gaynell “Gay” Adams April 5, 1952, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He went to work for the United States
Postal Service as a mail carrier for 22 years before going to work for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer
while Joe Boaldin was County Sheriff.
Tom enjoyed working in his workshop behind his home and was well-known in Altus as a “Jack of all Trades”. His
special hobbies were woodworking and using his skills as a machinist. In 1983, he and his wife were dealt a tragedy
by experiencing a fire in their home. He worked endless hours to rebuild their home and made it an even better place
to call home. He loved his animals, especially his Chihuahua, “Tiki”. He enjoyed spending countless hours with his
family and friends, yet he was a private man. He was very big-hearted and generous with his skills to help others.

Tom was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the Thomas Street
Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by his parents, two infant siblings, and three brothers-in-law, Tom is survived by his wife, Gay
Garrison of the home in Altus; one daughter, Brenda (Garrison) Southall and husband Terry; three grandchildren, Nicki
Southall, TeAnn Southall, and Michelle Southall Castillo and husband Noe; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Johnny,
Kristen, Camden, and Chloe, all of Altus; one brother, Johnny Garrison and wife LaQuita of Burlington, Texas; four
sisters, Alice Lovely and husband Robert of Oklahoma City, Norma Jordan and husband Jake of Mesquite, Texas,
Betty VanHooser and husband Neal of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Margie Birdwell of Snyder, Oklahoma; a number of
nieces, nephews, many friends, especially his “coffee shop buddies”, and his special neighbors, Doug Garland and wife
Jackie and Henry Malena and wife LaDoris.

Funeral Services for Tom Garrison are scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in the Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Virgie Mae Garrison

Virgie Mae Garrison, age 59, of Altus died at the Grace Living Center Saturday, May 3, 2003. Graveside services
are scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Enterprise Cemetery near Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Rev. Jason Duree
pastor of the Southside Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements are with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Born November 12, 1943 she was the daughter of Edgar William Garrison and Minnie Florence Walters Garrison.
She worked at the Cerebral Palsy Center in Midwest City and enjoyed crafts of many kinds including bowling, Special
Olympics, and crocheting.

Survivors include: One sister; Alice Freed and her husband Dwain of Altus. One (1) brother; Charlie Garrison of
Lubbock, Texas. Two (2) sister-in-laws; Joy Garrison and Curly Ross of Borger, Texas. Also surviving are several
nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and five (5) brothers.

The family requests that contributions can be made to the Trinity Hospice in Elk City, Oklahoma
