Phillippia Chanel Sanders-Harris

Phillippia Chanel Sanders-Harris, age 24 passed away September 6, 2005, in Evans, GA.
She was born August 10, 1981, in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky to Phillip Sanders and Barbara Sanders.
Chanel had lived in Evans, Georgia for the last 3 1/2 years. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in
Lawton, Oklahoma, and attended Cameron University. Her life enjoyment was raising her son Marquise. She
had several hobbies she enjoyed especially reading, fishing, all kinds of animals, especially dogs .Having been
saved and baptized at an early age, she attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia and
Friendship Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Chanel is survived by her son, Marquise L. Harris; mother and step-father, Barbara and Ronnie Lofton, Sr. of
Evans, Georgia; Father Phillip Sanders, of Altus, Oklahoma; one sister, Jasmine Britton, of Evans Georgia; one
step-sister, Teeleth Link, of Alaska; four step-brothers, Craig Lofton of California, Ronnie Lofton, Jr. of Green
Bay, Wisconsin, Terrence Lofton, of Indiana, Christopher Lofton, of Duncan, Oklahoma; Maternal
grandparents, Willie and Sherry Dykes of Altus, Oklahoma, Robert Williams of Vernon, Texas; Paternal
grandfather Charles Sanders of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles,cousins and
other relatives and many friends. Chanel is preceded in death by her Pa-Pa. Rev. Theron Booker, Corine
Fields, Dempy Fields and Johnny Williams, Charles Sanders Jr.
Funeral Service for Phillippia “Chanel” Sanders Harris is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at 1:00 P.
M. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor LeRoy Adams, Jr. and Rev. Robert Bostic officiating.
Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Vernon Harris

Vernon Harris, 81, passed away on July 16, 2007, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
Vernon was born on September 17, 1926, to Jerry and Ethel Harris in Tatum, Oklahoma, where he attended and
graduated school. He met and married his wife Cassie Mae Harris of 50 years in Altus, Oklahoma. He attended
Pilgrim Baptist Church in Tatum, Oklahoma and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Altus.
Vernon lived in Altus for over 50 years, where he worked at the Altus Compress for over 20 years. He also
worked as a farmer and a cook. His favorite interest were watching the westerns on television, fishing, playing
his guitar, walking and visiting his friends and family.
Vernon is survived by four sons, Vernon Harris Jr. and wife Barbara of Wichita, Kansas, Daniel Harris and wife
Teresa, also of Wichita, Kansas, A.H. Harris of Altus, and Benny Lee Harris of Wichita Kansas; six daughters,
Cassie Graham and husband Carl Graham of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Pansy Lenard and husband John
Lenard of Altus, Daisy Fleming and spouse William Cherry of Altus, Vivian Felder and husband Arthur Felder of
Birmingham, Alabama, Virginia Washington and spouse Sylvester Branch of Altus, and Winona Harris and
spouse Kirk Hall of Altus; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one sister, Savannah McGee of Tatum,
Oklahoma; two brothers, Bennie Eddie Harris of Caruthersville, Missouri and Grady Harris of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma; his Macedonia Baptist Church Family and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Also a special
tanks to his favorite nurse, “Jerri Dawn Spinks”
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Cassie Mae Harris in 1996; his mother and father; a
daughter; two sons; and five brothers.
“Dad, with special thoughts and memories in our hearts, we will never forget the walks and talks. Even though
God has called you home, you will always have a special place in our hearts. Love, your Children and
Grandchildren.”
Services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2007, at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 721 W.
Nona, Altus, Oklahoma. Pastor Kenneth Broughton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Zarius O’Tarion JaHyde Harris

Zarius O’Tarion JaHyde Harris infant son of Sabol Shena Pierre and Alturn Jack Harris died Friday,
February 4, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his parents of Altus, Oklahoma; grandparents Patricia and Bruce Decker of Altus,
Oklahoma, Herbert Harris of Hollis, Oklahoma, Patrick Robinson of Altus, Oklahoma and Mary Ann Castillo of
Altus, Oklahoma, Sherry Pierre of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his great-grandmothers
Mary Robinson of Altus, Oklahoma, Laura Pierre Robinson of California, and a host of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Rev. Alturn Jack Harris, Jr., Frankie Mae Harris, Alfred
Don Hill, K.J. Robinson.

Funeral Services for Zarius Harris is scheduled for Friday, February 11, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. in the Lowell-
Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Jackson and Pastor De Jones officiating. Interment will follow at
the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

HASTY

Vera Mae Hasty, 77, of Altus, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Jackson County Memorial
Hospital in Altus after a long battle with leukemia and arthritis.

Vera Mae was born in Elmer, Oklahoma on February 27, 1930, to Thomas “Pete” Richardson and Bessie Mae
(Huddleston) Richardson. She grew up in Elmer and attended Elmer and Southside Schools. She married Leo E.
Hasty on January 22, 1949 in Vernon, Texas. They shared 58 years together in a loving home in Elmer, Duke
and Altus. She was a member of Prairie Hill Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

Vera Mae was a homemaker and a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved crossword puzzles, sewing
and playing games with her grandchildren. In spite of her physical challenges, she had an amazing outlook on
life and loved the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Danlua Richardson.

Vera Mae is survived by her husband, Leo E. Hasty, of Altus; her children, Glenn Hasty and wife Dona of Altus,
Lisa Conner and husband Butch of Altus and Mark Hasty and wife Katrina of Duke; five grandchildren, Nicolas
Conner, Keaton Hasty, Thomas Elkouri Hasty, Mason Hasty and Karter Hasty; one brother, Leo Richardson and
wife Mary of Elmer; two sisters, Lois Messick of Altus and Murlene Heatherly and husband Stroud of Nashville,
Tennessee along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Vera Mae Hasty will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Bill Hall and Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus. The family will be receiving friends Friday October 19 from
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

HATCH

Dorothy Mae Hatch, age 85, of Eldorado, passed away Sunday morning, March 11, 2007 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Hatch was born on February 16, 1922, in Eldorado, to Jennie Mae (Weddle) and Charles Wesley Clonts.
She attended Eldorado Schools and graduated from Eldorado High School in 1939. She married the love of her
life, Frank W. Hatch on January 14, 1940, in Eldorado, and they spent sixty-seven wonderful years together
before her death. Frank and Dorothy lived in San Antonio, Salt Lake City, Glendale, California and Victorville,
California while Frank was serving in the United States Army. During that time, Dorothy was employed by the
Civil Service. Following the war, they returned to Eldorado and opened a furniture store, and later Hatch Dry
Goods. They were in business until their retirement in 1981. A successful businesswoman and a devoted wife
and mother, she was a member of the Eldorado Methodist Church for sixty years and was active in church and
community activities throughout her life.

Mrs. Hatch was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Charles Carroll Clonts and her granddaughter,
Sara Lyn Paulsgrove. She is survived by her husband, Frank Hatch, of Eldorado; her daughter and son-in-law,
Carol Sue and Gene Paulsgrove of Newcastle, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jay, James and Jana
Paulsgrove of Norman, Oklahoma; her niece, Jo Karon Gunkel and husband Jerry of Eldorado along with many
great nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Dorothy Mae Hatch will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Eldorado
Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Jones officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home of Eldorado.

In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations be made to The Children’s Center, 6800 N.W. 39th
Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008, in memory of Sara Lyn Paulsgrove.

HATCHER

Emma Faye Hatcher, age 73 of Altus, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Hatcher was born on March 30, 1932 at Littlefield, Texas to James Wesley and Sarah Myrtle (Barnes)
Elder. Moving from Texas to Oklahoma at the age of eight, she spent most of her life in Southwest
Oklahoma. Emma Faye was an accomplished artist and spent several years working for the State of
Oklahoma as a draftsman. Being involved in her Sunday School Class, church activities, senior citizen’s
events and spending time with her friends and family were her favorite things of life. Emma Faye was always
helping others. She was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger and was often found taking
food to those in need.

Her parents and a great-grandson, Caden Kersey, preceded her in death. She is survived by two children,
Jim Kersey and wife Anita of Del City and Susan Kersey of Redding, California; two sisters, Frances Burl of
Oklahoma City and Ella Mae Harper of Naples, Florida; three grandchildren, Christopher Kersey and wife
Desiree of Moore, James Kersey of Del City and Stephanie Hamil and husband Tad of Enid; two great-
grandchildren, Christian Kersey and Nicole Kersey both of Moore and a very special friend, Johnny Sims of
Blair.

Funeral services for Emma Faye Hatcher will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Moore officiating. Internment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family of Emma Faye Hatcher will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Monday, March 13 from
6 until 8 p.m.

Iona Pearl Hatfield

Iona Pearl Hatfield, age 81 of Altus, passed away March 31, 2003. Services, under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, are set for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Emmanuel
Baptist Church. The Rev. Boyd Whitehead will officiate and interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
Iona was born July 9, 1922 at Roosevelt, Oklahoma to parents Thomas and Sarah Burrows. She grew up
and attended school in the Roosevelt area. She was united in marriage to Richard Hatfield on August 15,
1939 at Hobart, Oklahoma. In 1950 they moved to Altus. She worked as a homemaker and was active at
the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and loved flowers and working in the
yard.
She was preceded her in death by her husband Richard in March of 1998 and twelve brothers and sisters.
Iona is survived by three children, Mary Dittmer of Fairfax, Minn., Helen Allen of Altus, Carol Jackson, of
Bellview, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Mr. And Mrs. Bobbie Dittmer, Jeff Dittmer and wife Sonya, Paul
Dittmer and wife Mary Ellen, Debbie Graham and husband Kurt, Floyd Allen Jr. and wife Brenda, Sabrina
Von Wert, Regina Ross and husband Warren, Candie Synoiski and husband Dennis, Kyle Jackson; sixteen
great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, Jason Von Wert.

Hatton

Loree Hatton, 87, of Altus, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Plantation Village Nursing Home.
Loree was born November 10, 1921, in Altus to David O. and Omega (Craig) Reid. She graduated from
Friendship High School where she was a star athlete. Loree then attended Altus Junior College for several
semesters.
She married Carl Hatton in 1975 in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death July 31, 1988.
Loree worked at Lacy’s Furniture in Altus from 1960 to 1962. She then moved to Lawton where she worked
as a designer at Wolverton’s Furniture for five years. In 1967, Loree changed jobs and worked as a secretary for
a construction company in Lawton. It was during this time that she and Carl married. Loree and Carl moved back
to Altus in 1976 and was able to retire and take care of her family and friends.
Loree cooked for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all the time and was lovingly called “Owee” by all the
grandkids. Loree was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna James and husband Leon of Altus; three step-children, Carl Ivan
Hatton of Hollis, John Mark Hatton of Iraq, and Barbara Cimina of Altus; one sister, Dora Savage of Ardmore,
Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Steve Williams and wife Wendy, Robbie James and wife Kathy, and Kyle James
and wife Sheryl; eight great-grandchildren, Cody James, Kelsey James, Jonna Williams, Michele Williams, Ryan
James, Casey James, K.J. James, and Kylee James; six nephews, Bill Contway, Paul Sherrill, Erby Hunter, David
Reid, Mike Reid, and Mike Savage; three nieces, Wanda Lou Klaver, Carolyn Ruth Franzene, and Marilyn Kriet;
and her many friends at Plantation Nursing Home and Assisted Living Center.
Loree was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Hatton, five brothers, Erby Hunter, David
Reid, Donald Reid, Jimmy Reid, and Craig Reid; six sisters, Louella Savage, Esther Sherrill, Trula Leigh-Kendall,
Texie Overton, Ocie Contway, and Opal Baker; and one niece, Phyllis Huff.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4323 N.W. 63rd, Suite 100,
Oklahoma City, OK 73116; phone number 1-800-733-9888 FREE, or to the Relay for Life in care of First State Bank of
Altus.

Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at the Altus City Cemetery Chapel with
Rod Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.

Oleta Hatton

Oleta Mae Hatton passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006, at the English Village Manor. Graveside services
have been scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 13th at the Altus City Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Oleta was born August 19, 1928, in Altus, Oklahoma to William Thomas and Rosie (James) Busby. On June 8,
1946, she and Johnnie Hatton were united in marriage in Vernon, Texas. They made their home in Altus where
Oleta worked for Jackson County Courthouse as a bookkeeper and as a secretary for the County
Commissioners for over 20 years. Johnnie and Oleta had over 55 wonderful years together before Johnnie
passed away in 2002.
Oleta was a member of the Nazarene Church and took great pride in being a wife and mother. She enjoyed the
time she was able to spend with her daughters.
Mrs. Hatton was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Johnnie; three sisters, Velma, Lucille,
and Bonnie; and by two brothers, W.T. Busby and Melvin Busby.
She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Janice Loftis and Judy Derksen, both of the home in Altus; three
grandsons, Scott Doll and his wife, Joanne of San Antonio, Texas, David Jeffrey Dickson and his wife, Leslie of
Portland, Oregon, and Mickael Derksen of Laguna Hills, California; two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Winter
Dickson; one sister, Vonneda Douglas of Altus; and by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

The family will receive guests from 7 pm until 9 pm, Friday evening at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
