Lannie Ray Jones

Lannie Ray Jones, age 54, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006, at his home in Martha, Oklahoma.

Lannie was born October 26, 1951, to Paul Jones and Lillian (Stephens) Jones in Olustee, Oklahoma and graduated
from Blair High School in 1970.

A truck driver for Jewett Scott Trucking, Passmore Trucking, and most recently, Quick Sand Trucking of Headrick,
and avid coyote hunter, Lannie’s favorite times were spent with his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his father in December 30, 2002, Lannie is survived by his mother, Lillian Jones, of Martha,
Oklahoma; his son, Justin Jones and wife Danyale, of Altus; two sisters, Kathryn Galle of Anchorage, Alaska and
Mary Norton of Garland, Texas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Preston Jones and Kelsey Jones both of
Altus.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 24, 2006, at 10:00 am at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Steve
Orick officiating. Interment will follow at Martha Cemetery.
The family will greet guest Sunday, July 23, 2006, from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Jones

Martha Sue Jones was born July 11, 1929 at Friendship, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late William
Herbert and Ida Emily (Deason) Dunsworth. She died Jan. 13, 2004 in Altus.
Sue was a resident of Altus since 1968. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the First Baptist Church of Altus.
Her hobbies included, music, crafts, her dogs, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include

Services for Sue Jones are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Dr. Jeff
Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home

Neal Jones

Neal Jones, age 66, of Houston, Texas passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005 in Herman Southwest Hospital in
Houston, Texas. Graveside services have been scheduled for 9:00 am, Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Altus City
Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma with Reverend Jan Jones officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Neal was born June 23, 1939 in Dexter, New Mexico. He was the son of Fred and Maudie (Bradshaw) Jones.
After graduating high school, he served in the United State Army in the Occupations Division. After separating from
the military, Mr. Jones worked for the Regional Water Services in Houston, Texas as a repairman on water lines. He
was of the Baptist faith. Neal loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is lovingly survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws, Fred and Brandi Jones of College Station, Texas and
Billy and Elka Jones of Alzanau, Germany; a sister-in-law, Pat Jones of Pasadena, Texas; four brothers, and their
wives, Wayne and Barbara Jones of Altus, Oklahoma, Larry and Lou Jones of Sandy, Oregon, Jan and LaVon
Jones of Augusta, Kansas, and Johnny and Carolyn Jones of College Station, Texas; one sister, Shirley Sanders of
Franklin, Texas; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Donald R. Jones.

Walter “Walt” Jesse Jones

Walter “Walt” Jesse Jones, age 85 of Altus, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at Plantation Village Care Center
in Altus. Walt was born July 28, 1919, in Kansas City, Kansas to Herman Henry and Flora (Harris) Jones.
Walt married Georgia Pearl Smith in Clinton, Missouri on April 26, 1940. Married for sixty-five years, Walt and
Georgia moved to Altus in 1997 from Missouri. Mr. Jones was a member of the Altus Church of God, having been
saved and baptized in 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee. Walt loved the Lord and served Him for fifty-five years until his
death.
Walt was a member of the Musician’s Union of Kansas City, Missouri and loved singing and playing his guitar. A
mechanic and maintenance man by trade, he was a farmer at heart. Known as a man of many talents, Walt could fix
about anything. Singing and playing Gospel Music all over Missouri were two of the things that Walt and Georgia
enjoyed doing together. They played and sang at nursing homes, retirement centers and for various organizations as
time would allow.Walt was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandchild. He is survived by his
wife, Georgia, of the home; one daughter, Evelyn Evans of Brighton, Missouri; two sons, Leon Jones and his wife
Carolyn of Altus, Oklahoma and Cleon Jones of Lees Summit, Missouri; three sisters, Marjorie Smith of Springfield,
Missouri, Mildred Moore of ElDorado Springs, Missouri, Edna Wyatt of Wellsville, Kansas; one brother, Clide Jones
and wife Bonnie of ElDorado Springs, Missouri; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Walter Jesse Jones will be Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel with Reverend Greg Hatchett officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery with Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A visitation for friends of Walt Jones will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2005.

JONES

Wayne (Bones) Jones, age 72, of Altus, passed away late Saturday evening, May 19, 2007, at English Village Nursing
Home.

Wayne was born on August 28, 1934, in rural Jackson County, to Fred and Maudie (Bradshaw) Jones. He attended
and played ball at Friendship and later married Barbara Rollins on December 23, 1955, at Gould. They spent fifty-one
wonderful years together before his death. “Bones” as he was most commonly known, began working for the City of
Altus in 1965, and was a dedicated employee who could fix “anything” that dealt with electricity or a heating and air
conditioning system. After serving the citizens of Altus for over thirty-two years, Bones retired in April of 1998.
Working was his way of life, but he did take some time to enjoy fishing, hunting and taxidermy. Visiting and being with
people was one of his greatest loves, besides being with his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Don, Neal and Johnny, he is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of
the home; one daughter, Natalie Wheeler and husband, Darris of Altus; one sister, Shirley Sanders of Franklin, Texas;
two brothers, Larry Jones and wife Lou of Sandy, Oregon and Ronald Jones and wife Lavon of Augusta, Kansas; two
sisters-in-law, Vera Bearden and Velma Smiley and husband Jack, both of Altus along with several nieces, nephews
other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Wayne (Bones) Jones will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family will greet friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Oklahoma Alzheimer Research Association, 825 N.E.
13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104.

Wilton Rex “Jiggs” Jones
Wilton Rex “Jiggs” Jones, 83, of Hollis, passed away Monday, October 30, 2006, at the Colonial Manor Nursing
Home in Hollis.
Jiggs was born April 8, 1923, at the old home place in Collingsworth County, Texas, to Floyd and Velma
(Thomason) Jones. He grew up in the O.M. and Arnett communities and graduated from Arnett High School in
1941. He served in the United States Army from 1944-1945 during World War II. Jiggs married Nadine Bussey in
March of 1949 in Childress, Texas, and she preceded him in death November 6, 1998. He farmed and ranched in
the Arnett and Hollis communities for over 50 years. He served on the Harmon Memorial Hospital Board, Tri-
County Coop Board, Arnett School Board, and was a member of the Hollis Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Velma, and his wife Nadine, Jiggs is survived by his son, David Jones
and wife Sherri of Hollis; his daughter, Karen Dennis and husband Bruce, also of Hollis; two grandsons, Daren Jones
and wife Kristi of Vinson, and Jeremy Dennis and wife Sharon of Morrison, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Dawn
Cargal and husband Jud of Blair; his great-grandchildren, Hunter and McKenna Cargal and Morgan and Seth
Dennis; fours sisters, Wilma Brewster of Lubbock, Texas, Dorma Daniels of Grove City, Ohio, Annie Brown and
husband Glen of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Floydene Kite and husband Garland of Borger, Texas; an uncle, D.
C. Thomason of Wellington, Texas; an aunt, Vera Mae Thomason of Levelland, Texas, and numerous nieces,
nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services for W.R. “Jiggs” Jones are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at the Church of
Christ in Hollis with Mark Lance officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction
of our funeral home in Hollis, Ok- Patterson Greer Funeral Home in Hollis.

Jorden

Willie Mae Jorden, age 79, formerly of Altus, passed away at her residence in Oklahoma City early Tuesday morning,
August 21, 2007.

Mrs. Jorden was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on June 21, 1928, to Willie Melvin and Ophelia (Cook) Jorden. Moving
to Hollis where she attended school for a short time, she left school, at an early age, to help make a living for her
family. Living many places during her lifetime, she moved to Altus in 1980, where she was a caretaker for people in
their homes. In 1989, Mrs. Jorden moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her children.

Her parents, one son, Morris Cleveland Johnson, and one daughter, Carrie Lee Arnett, preceded her in death. She is
survived by seven children, Alice Beard of Lawton, Rosie Williams of Altus, Howard Williams and wife Debra of
Midwest City, Oklahoma, Lois Johnson of Dallas, Texas, Patricia Johnson of Altus, Margaret Newton Johnson and
husband John Newton of Oklahoma City and Maurice Johnson of Oklahoma City, twenty-six grandchildren, fifty-two
great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

Funeral services for Willie Mae Jorden will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Tyrone Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

Betty Karr

Betty Karr, age 86, of Dripping Springs, Texas, formerly of Altus, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Hill
Country Care Center.

Mrs. Karr was born on May 1, 1921, in Altus, to Herman and Marie (Mansur) Talkington. A graduate of Altus
High School, Betty attended the University of Oklahoma, studied Drama and taught many years in the Altus
School System as a substitute teacher. Betty married Al Karr on May 2, 1942, in Mangum, Oklahoma and they
spent fifty-seven wonderful years together before his death on May 8, 1999. A long-time member of the
Thomas Street Church of Christ, Betty was also very active in the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the American Legion Post
in Altus. She held the office of Auxiliary Department President in Oklahoma from 1976-1977. Her particular
passion was assisting in Girls State and advocating for war veterans. During her lifetime she enjoyed camping,
fishing, hiking, boating and riding horses, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family whom she
dearly loved.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Al and one brother, George Talkington, she is survived by four
children, Albert Henry (Hank) Karr, Jr. and wife Dee Ann of Altus, Jesse Karr of Oklahoma City, Karmen Willis
and husband Gawain of Robertsville, Missouri and Kathy Boydston and husband Glenn of Dripping Springs,
Texas; six grandchildren, Albert Henry (Bert) Karr, III of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Cyndi Arbuckle of Haslett,
Texas, Kris Andrews of Keithsville, Louisiana, Matt Willis of Robertsville, Missouri, Paul Willis of Union City,
Oklahoma and Lindsay Kirwin of Stillwater, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Betty Karr will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel
with Mack Powers officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.

The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 6 until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2007.

KELLEY

Dortha Adeline Kelley, age 95, long time resident of Washita County died at the Cordell Christian Home
Saturday morning. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the First Presbyterian
Church in Cordell officiated by The Reverend Rick Mills. Burial will follow in the Lawnview Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Dortha was born October 19, 1912 in Amorita, Oklahoma and was the daughter of John Fern Swaim and his
wife, Myrtle Bruner. Both parents died when Dortha was nine years old and she, her sisters, and a brother
were raised by neighbors of the family, Tom and Lillie Hansbro.

Dortha graduated from high school at Amorita and taught in a one room school house in Byron for a period
of time. Later she completed her degree in education from Northwestern and taught school in Minturn,
Colorado, Rocky, and Burns Flat, Oklahoma.

Following the outbreak of World War II Dortha met Lowell Eugene Kelley who had recently returned from
serving with the Army in the North Africa and Italy campaigns. They were married on June 1, 1946 in Amorita.
They farmed in the Dill City area and after a stint in Colorado; Lowell was appointed Postmaster of Rocky
where they made their home. On his retirement in 1980 they moved to Cordell. She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church and an Eastern Star.

Survivors include; two daughters; Ada Kathleen Lowell and husband Ron of Altus. Linda Nell Browning and
husband David also of Altus. One sister; Ruby Nell Cutright of Cherokee, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren;
Angela Nebling and husband John of Rogers, Arkansas. Kelly Lowell and wife Stacie of Millington, Tennessee.
David Browning of Clinton, Oklahoma. Deanna Moore and husband Marty of Hollis. Also surviving are
thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Kelley in 1996. Her parents; Fern and Myrtle Swaim.
Foster parents; Tom and Lillie Hansbro. One sister; Thelma Hess. Two brothers; Harry Sawyer and an infant
brother.

The casket will lie in state at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus until the day of the service and then at the
First Presbyterian Church in Cordell until service time.

Leon Kelley

Leon Kelley, age 79 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Plantation Village Nursing
Home in Altus.
He was born November 8, 1925 in Alfala, Oklahoma to H.W. and Nina (Hankins) Kelley.
On January 27, 1943 in Alfala, Oklahoma Leon and June Kenedy were united in marriage. She preceded him in
death August 18, 1997.
Leon served in the United State Navy during World War II and was honorable discharged.
He worked as a carpet layer for many years in the Altus and Jackson County area. He owned and operated Leon
Kelley's Carpetland and furniture for several years. Leon was a deacon and served as a Sunday school teacher at
First Baptist Church for many years. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Leon is survived by three children, Jerry Kelley and wife Wanda of McKinney, Texas, Larry Kelley and wife Cathy
of Altus, Oklahoma, Donna Hans and husband Rick of Allen, Texas, one brother, Glen Kelley and wife Marie of
Maggie Valley, North Carolina.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and a sister in law Joy Troub and
husband Bill of Carnegie, Oklahoma one brother in law, Don Noland and Bill of Edmond, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and two brothers, one grandson.
Services are scheduled Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore
officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The families will greet friends Friday, September 02, 2005 from 7:00 until 8:00pm at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
