Rev. Melvin E. Moody

Rev. Melvin E. Moody, age 88 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 11, 2005 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 8, 1916 in Cement, Oklahoma to Roy and Rebecca (Rimer) Moody.
Melvin and Geneva Ruth Cribbs were united in marriage on February 12, 1939 in Anadarko, OK and shared 66
wonderful years together.

Melvin was a 1935 graduate of Cement High School in Cement, OK. He served in the United States Navy
during World War II. After returning from the war, Melvin managed lumber yards in Hugo, OK, Bristow, OK,
Robert Lee, TX, and Midland, TX. Upon being called to the ministry, Melvin attended Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX graduating in 1957. In 1955 he was ordained to the ministry. He pastored
the following Oklahoma churches: Forrest Hills Baptist Church, Idabel, 1955-1956, First Baptist Church,
Cooperton, 1956-1957, First Baptist Church, Fletcher, 1957-1961, First Baptist Church, Walters, 1961-1968,
First Baptist Church, Henryetta, 1968-1974, First Baptist Church, Altus, (Associate Pastor and Church
Administrator)1974-1982. Melvin served on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma
as Chairman of the Budget Committee and a member of the Evangelism Committee. Upon retirement Brother Mel
continued his ministries as pastor of First Baptist Church, Buffalo Gap, TX. In 1985 Mel and Geneva returned to
Altus. Subsequently they served two area churches, First Baptist Church, Willow and Hess Baptist Church, Elmer
completing his ministry in 1994.
His beloved wife Geneva stood by his side throughout their 40 year ministry.

In addition to his love for his Lord and family, Melvin loved the mountains and especially loved to fish and hunt
with his sons. He enjoyed golfing and playing pinochle with friends and family.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Rebecca Moody, brother, R. D. Moody, sisters, Lorene
Posey, Dorothy Swift, and infant sister, Rebecca Moody.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Geneva; five children, Ron Moody and his wife Glenda of Dillon, Montana,
Kaye Young and her husband Don of Roanoke, Virginia, Becky Moody of Altus, Stephen Moody of Helena,
Montana and Dane Moody also of Helena, Montana; eleven Grandchildren, Amy Black, Angela Matthews, Luke
Moody, Brad McClure, Marc McClure, Eric Bates, Ashley Bates, Cody Moody, Melissa Moody, Rhiannon
Lindsey and Megan Tremel; thirteen Great-Grandchildren, many relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Monday, March 14th, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Services for Rev. Melvin E. Moody will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15th at the First Baptist Church of
Altus. Rev. Keith Wiginton and Dr. Jeff Moore will be officiating.
Internment will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, OK. Rev. Roy Moody, Melvin’s nephew,
will officiate.
Services are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Constance Marie Moore

Constance Marie Moore, 48, passed away Thursday, August 23rd, 2012
after valiantly battling cancer for two years.

She was born February 18, 1964 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Walter and Anne (Paschal)
Langston. She married Robert Moore July 28, 2004.

Connie loved life, but even more, she loved her children, grandchildren, and her church. Her
favorite things were her time with her family, her woodburning hobbie and her collection of
ceramic angels. Connie was a special individual and was extremely strong in her faith. She
never complained and thought of others before herself.

Connie is survived by her husband, Robert Moore; her oldest child, Heather Eling and
son-in-law Cody Eling Sr. and her youngest child, Austin Moore. She is survived by four
grandchildren, Americus, Hadleigh, Nevaeh and Cody Jr.; her parents, Anne and Walter
Langston; five siblings, Phil Langston, Kathy DiIanna, Mike Langston, Greg Langston, and
Mark Langston; six nephews and three nieces; as well as numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Marget Langston and Rev.
Howard and Grace Paschal.

The family has scheduled a memorial service for Monday, August 27, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. at
the First Assembly of God Church, 1400 Falcon Road, Altus, Oklahoma. Pastor Arlus Moon will officiate.

Willie Dickson “Bill” Moore

Bill Moore, age 62, of Elmer, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Integris Baptist Medical Center
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was born May 5, 1943 in Altus, Oklahoma to John W. Moore and Ruby Elizabeth (Maxwell) Moore.
On November 15, 1991 in Altus, Oklahoma Bill and Shirley Threadgill were united in marriage.
Bill worked for several farmers in Jackson County including, Bill Southall, Phinis Lee, and Bill Hicks, before he
retired. After he retired, he enjoyed working with his horses, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a
longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Elmer, Oklahoma.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Shirley of the home in Elmer; two step-sons, James Vinson and his wife Linda of
Altus, Oklahoma, Adam Vinson of Lawton, Oklahoma; one sister Sarah Smith of Elmer, Oklahoma; six brothers, Ike
Moore of Humphrey, Oklahoma, Jack Moore of Moore, Oklahoma, Jessie Moore of Blair, Oklahoma, Louis
Moore of Altus, Oklahoma, Larry Moore and his wife Edna of Arkansas, Gerry Moore of Altus, Oklahoma. He is
also survived by four step-grandchildren, Kirstie Tynes, James Tynes, Megan Vinson and Rebecca Vinson; and a
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ruth Faye Raper; and one brother R.T. Moore.
Funeral Services for Bill Moore are scheduled for Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Erin Martinez officiating. Interment will follow in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction
of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Bill Moore will greet friends Sunday evening April 30, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home.

Moreau

Roger Curtis Moreau, 89, of Altus, passed away suddenly at his home Friday, October 10, 2008.

Roger was born December 25, 1918, in Olustee, Oklahoma, to Walter and Etta (Robinson) Moreau. He grew
up in Jackson County and graduated from Olustee High School in 1936. He worked several jobs in Jackson
County before moving to California to work in a machine shop up to the time that World War II became a reality for
the United States. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1942 and served his country until February 16, 1946. He
married Joyce Lee Francis August 17, 1946, in Altus, Oklahoma, where they raised their four children. He farmed
for over 60 years and was still active in farming until his death. Roger was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of
the First Baptist Church in Altus.

Preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, on January 12, 2002, his parents, one daughter, Robin Eddie, one
granddaughter, Melissa Moreau, and two sisters, Joy Dickenson and Irma Moreau, Roger is survived by three sons,
Mark Moreau and wife Kathy of Oklahoma City, Eric Moreau and wife Sharon of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Brad
Moreau and wife Lynda of Altus; one sister, Elsie Fried and husband David of Mena, Arkansas; seven
grandchildren, Jarrod, Alexis, Kelsey, Paige, Aaron, Jeremy, and Amy; two great-grandchildren, Mason and T.J.,
and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Roger Moreau will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with
Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Altus under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home.

Morgan

Johnnie Akers Morgan, 75, of Vernon, Texas, formerly of Blair, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006, at
the Vernon Care Center in Vernon.
Johnnie was born September 7, 1930, in Blair, Oklahoma, to John Wesley and Clara Mae (Roberts) DeShong. She
graduated from Blair High School in 1948 and served as class secretary. She sang in her high school chorus and
participated in many school activities including F.H.O., Annual Staff, basketball, volleyball, and was in the Senior
Play. In her later years, Johnnie loved participating in the Senior Citizens Dance, Bowling League, and was active at
the First Baptist Church in Blair. She loved baking pies and was a very good caregiver to her family and friends,
especially her grandchildren. Johnnie married J.P. Morgan in August of 2000 in Vernon.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara DeShong, brothers, Bobby Jack DeShong and Benny
Ray DeShong, and her previous husband, Jack Akers.
She is survived by her husband, J.P. Morgan, of the home in Vernon; three daughters, Connie Leaf and husband
Steve of Elmer, Oklahoma, Monica Morgan of Katy, Texas, and Marcia Newhardt and husband John of Yukon,
Oklahoma; one son, Kent Cox and wife Marcie of Chico, Texas; five step-children, J.P. “Chip” Morgan and wife
Carla of Plano, Texas, Larry Morgan and wife Agnes of Lubbock, Texas, Marvin Morgan of Montgomery, Texas,
Penny Jo McPeters, also of Montgomery, and Kenny Morgan of Charleston, South Carolina. She is also survived
by her grandchildren, Brad and Shelly Leaf, Brian Cox, Hayli Cox, Dean and Lynn Leaf, Tatum, Jackson, and
Mallory Morgan, Michael Newhardt, Leslie Denison, and Jamie and Jeff Berres; six great-grandchildren; three
nieces, two great-nieces, one great-nephew, and many friends.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, July 10, at Lowell-Tims Chapel.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 11, at Lowell Tims Chapel with Reverend Randy Mitchell
officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Sylvia Sue Morgan

Sylvia Sue Morgan, age 67 of Altus, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in Rugby, North Dakota as the result of a
motor vehicle accident.

Sylvia was born on November 22, 1938 to John and Lola Esteline (Banks) Lovelady in Hess, Oklahoma. She
married Tom Morgan on May 1, 1965, at the First Baptist Church in Altus.

Moving to Altus from Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico in 1971, Sylvia was a 30 year member of
American Business Womens Association, a five year member of Toastmistress, current president of the Hess
Cemetery Association, previous PTA president at Eugene Field Elementary, currently active as a RA Class Leader of
5th grade boys, previously a Sunday school teacher at the Hess Baptist Church for ten years and also served as a 4-
H speech contest judge for many years.

Sylvia’s parents were pioneer settlers in the Hess area and her great grandfather, William Ezra Banks, was the
Jackson County delegate to the Constitutional Convention in Guthrie when Old Greer County Texas became part of
Oklahoma. A Western Oklahoma State College business graduate in 1979, Sylvia loved to travel world wide and
was an accomplished student pilot who soloed in 1984.

Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband Tom Morgan of the home; three children, Larry
Russell Morgan and wife Monica of Falconhead Resort, Love County, Oklahoma, Sylvia Suzanne Morgan of
Oklahoma City, Sharon K. Powers and husband Jack of Lawton; one sister, Gloria V. Cody and husband Rev. Bob
Cody of Savoy, Texas; one brother, Bobbie Joe Lovelady and wife Jo of Ft. Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Sarah
Powers of Lawton, Karl Lang Jr. of Minot, North Dakota, Shea Burleson of Falconhead Resort, Love County,
Oklahoma, Joshua Lang, Kate Powers and Jennifer Lang all of Lawton, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews,
cousins and many friends.

Funeral services for Sylvia Sue Morgan will be Monday, June 5, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Lowell-Tims Funeral Home
Chapel officiated by Rev. Wendall Buck. Interment will follow at the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-
Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family of Sylvia Morgan will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday, June 4,
2006.

MORGAN

Thomas (Tom) William Morgan, age 75, of Altus, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at his residence.

Mr. Morgan was born on March 9, 1932, to Charles Henry and Loretta Marie (Neises) Morgan. Me married
Sylvia Sue Lovelady on May 1, 1965 in Altus and she preceded him in death on May 30, 2006. Moving to Altus,
forty-three years ago, from Etain AFB, France, Mr. Morgan retired at Altus Air Force Base with twenty-three years
of service in Flight Operations. During his career he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force
Commendation Medal. A longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church of Altus, on May 28, 1951, he
graduated from the Notre Dame Academy in Mitchell, South Dakota. He was also a member of the 1st
MOB/COMM “First In – Last Out”

Preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, he is survived by three children, Larry Morgan and wife Monica, S. Suzanne
Morgan and Sharon K. Powers and husband Jack; four sisters, Elaine Goldammer, Gloria Arbuckle, Mary Carol
Smith and Colleen Fitzgerald and husband Steve; two brothers, Alan “Chuck” F. Morgan and wife Lorraine and
Ronnie Morgan and wife Barbara “Barb”; five grandchildren, Karl R. Lang, Jr., Sarah E. Powers, Joshua W. Lang,
Katie L. Powers and Jennifer K. Lang along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Tom Morgan will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 14, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Jason Duree officiating. Internment will follow at Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.

Warrenlene Morgan

Warrenlene Morgan, 63, of Altus, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at her home in Altus.

Warrenlene was born June 2, 1945, in Altus to the late Hence and Eddie Marie (Sterling) Fields. At a very early
age, she accepted Christ and joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a devoted member until the Lord
called her home. She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School and continued her education at Oklahoma
University where she earned her degree. Warrenlene lived in Tulsa for several years and later returned with her
family to Altus where she devoted twenty-seven years at the Employment Security Commission Office as a Claims
Supervisor.

She married Tommy Morgan January 15, 1999, in Floydada, Texas, and together they shared almost ten
wonderful years.

She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband, Tommy Morgan, of the home in Altus; her sons,
Michael Fields and wife Marion of San Diego, California, Charles Martin and wife Lillian of Oklahoma City, and
Kevin Martin of Tucson, Arizona; her step-children; a sister, Alene Johnson of Evansville, Indiana; a brother, Austin
Griggs of Altus; her grandchildren, Tori Fields, Lakeisha Camar, Tamekia Smith, Aisha Cusic, Michael Fields, Jr.,
Lamycal Fields, Jerome Rice, Keviesha Martin, Matlene Martin, Jonathan Martin, and Artejai Martin; five
great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Warrenlene was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Haywood Goodlow, her uncles, Charles
Sterling and Florence Sterling, her aunts, Bercey Sterling and Alyce Foster, and a very special cousin, Sandra
Foster.

Funeral Services for Warrenlene Morgan will be held 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at
Lowell-Tims Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Broughton officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery
under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
