Harold James Morris

Harold James Morris, age 83 of Altus, passed away August 25, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, are set for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 28,
2003 at the Altus City Cemetery. The Rev. Boyd Whitehead will officiate.
Harold was born to parents V.T. and Ethel Morris on May 11, 1920. He grew up in Jackson County and was united
in marriage to Hazel Lawson Morris on July 27, 1957 at Headrick, Oklahoma. They enjoyed many years of marriage.
Harold was a veteran of the United States Army. He also worked until retirement as a civil servant performing heavy
equipment maintenance. Harold was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his yard.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel in February of 1998; one son, Gerald Stephens in September of
1996; his parents and seven brothers. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley and husband Carl Risinger of Altus
and Tawana Jo and husband Archie Richardson of Hemet, California; four sisters, Margaret Voyles and husband
Clifford of Oklahoma City; Ellen Rae Cosgrove of Oklahoma City; Okla Smith of Noble, Oklahoma; Lorena Carnish
and husband Bud of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Darlene Look, Linda Wallace and Diane
Woodard, all of California and four great grandchildren.

MORRIS

Rodney Dean Morris, age 52, of Mangum, passed away on Saturday evening, March 21, 2009, at Mercy Hospital
in Oklahoma City.

Rod was born on March 15, 1957, to Herbert and Pauline (Hickman) Morris. He attended school in Redlands,
California graduating from Redlands High School in 1975. In 1977, he married Tracey Miller. Their daughter,
Marisa LeAnn, was born in 1978, and their son, Phillip Arthur, was born in 1982.

Rod moved to Mangum, Oklahoma in 1989, and he started working at Grace Living Center. He enjoyed working
with the patients and listening to their stories about the “old days”. Rod was an avid sports fan with OU being a
favorite, rarely missing any of their football and basketball games that were on T.V. Mostly he enjoyed watching the
California Angels baseball on television every night, but the happiest times of his life were spent with his family,
especially his two grandchildren, Joshua Hunter and Brianna Pauline.

Preceded in death by his father, Herbert Morris, in February 1981, he is survived by one daughter, Marisa Wiley;
one son, Phillip Morris; two grandchildren; his mother, Pauline Wynn; one brother Ronnie Morris, all of Mangum and
many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service for Rodney Morris will be held at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the Russell Baptist
Church with Dr. Dean Goodfellow officiating.

Chrystine Morrison

Memorial services are scheduled for Chrystine Morrison, 85, of Altus at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2004
at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home. She passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Ms. Morrison was born March 8, 1919 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Walter C. Chennault and Mabel (Mott)
Chennault. The family moved to Altus when she was very young and she began her education in a one-room
schoolhouse. She performed many types of employment throughout her employment years. She retired from
Kellwood Lingerie Company at the age of 62 and began another career at Altus Senior Citizens “helping cook for the
old folks”. In 1994 she became a volunteer for the Department of Human Services transporting a dialysis patient to
treatment and medical appointments.

Chrystine was very talented seamstress, excellent cook, and her hobby was crocheting. She was very family
oriented and adored her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, John and Maude Chennault and C.P. and Almeda
Mott, a sister, Juanita Tabb, infant brother, J.C. Chennault.

Surviviors are a son, Tommy Davlin of Altus, daughter, Anita Ellerbee of Altus, brother Bobby Chennault of
Wichita Falls, Texas, sister, Mildred Halcomb of Altus,aunt, Pauline Mott, of San Pedro, California, five grandsons,
Bo Ellerbee, Buddy Ellerbee, Chris Davlin, Jason Davlin, and Brandson Scott Davlin, and seven great-grandchildren,
and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews and many friends.

The family of Chrystine Morrison will greet friends Tuesday evening May 18, 2004 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Gerald Lloyd Murphey

Gerald Lloyd Murphey, age 78 passed away January 23, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born to Jasper Forrest Murphey and Tennie (Smith) Murphey on August 12, 1926 in Altus, Oklahoma.
He joined the Navy at the age of 17and served in WWII on the U.S.S Talbot, D.D. 114 and A.P.D 7.
Gerald married Marion Fessenden on July 26, 1947 in Archer City, Texas.
He was a Car Dealer in Wichita Falls, Texas; he loved his worked serving people and finding just the right car to
meet their needs.
Gerald lived in Wichita Falls and Fort Worth Texas before moving to Olustee in 1997.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, drives in the county, birds, animals, gardening, watching things grow like
wheat, flowers, cotton, watermelons and made sure his cars and yard were spotless.
Gerald and Marion enjoyed attending Olustee School activities.
He loved the Lord and being in attendance at Grace Untied Methodist. He will be missed by all his family, friends, his
pastor said he was my friend.
Gerald is survived by his wife Marion Murphey of the home, one daughter Shelia Jones and husband Cecil of
Houston, Texas; two grand children Kristin McCullough and husband Mike of Salina, Ca, Clayton Jones and wife
Kelli of Houston, Texas; five great-grand children; Reed and Mason McCullough of Salina, Ca, Chandler, Hayden,
Reese Jones of Houston, Texas, two brothers; Leon Murphey of Wichita Falls, Texas and Clifford Murphey of
Houston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Joyce Wilson.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 10:00 am at Grace United Methodist Church, with Rev.
George Lupton officiating. Interment will follow at the Olustee Cemetery.
The family will greet friends Tuesday, January 25, 2005 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at the
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church of Altus or to the Olustee Cemetery fund in memory of
Gerald Lloyd Murphey.

Cadie Lee Myers

Cadie Lee Myers, 3 month old daughter of Laura Biddy, passed away Thursday morning, December 1, 2005 at
Mangum City Hospital.

Cadie was born August 7, 2005 at Altus to Laura Biddy of Granite. Cadie is survived by her mother of the home;
one sister Nevaeh Lee Deliz; grandmother, April Cromer of Maryland; grandfather and step-grandmother, Mark
and Cindy Biddy of Granite; two aunts, Brittany Nicole Mesa of Arizona and Stephanie Biddy of Maryland and
one uncle, Trevor Jay Ryan of Maryland.

Funeral services for Cadie Myers will be Monday, December 5, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in
Granite with Rev. Ben VanVacter officiating. Interment will follow at Granite City Cemetery under the direction of
Greer Funeral Home of Granite.

Effie Lee Myers

Effie Lee Myers age 96 of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 28,1908 at Rains County, Texas to J.T. and Nannie (Pound) Whitwell.

On December 20,1947 in Vernon, Texas Effie and Harold Myers were united in marriage. He preceded her
in death on September 21, 1981.

Effie had lived in the Altus community for the last eighty years. She worked at Terri’s, Model-T and the
Surrey Shop until she retired in 1985. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy Tims of Altus, Oklahoma, grandson Todd Tims of Norman, Oklahoma,
granddaughter Tracy Tavares and husband Paul of Dover, Delaware; two great-granddaughters Meghan Allred
and Paige Allred of Dover, Delaware. She is also survived by nephew James A. Holcomb and wife Barbara of
Tyler, Texas; two great-grand-nephews, Joe Holcomb, Jim Holcomb; two great-grand-nieces, Emily McKinney
and Alane Miller.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Pearl Holcomb.

Funeral Service for Effie Myers is scheduled for Monday, March 28, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Foreman officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under
the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral.
The family of Effie Myers will greet friends Sunday evening March 27, 2005 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Renee Joy Myrick

Renee Joy Myrick, age 49, passed away August 3, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 9,
1956 to John and Elizabeth Anderson in Birmingham, Alabama.
Renee married Tyrone Myrick December 6, 1980 in Nashville, Tenn.
She was a Day Care Provider at Altus Air Force Base and she loved her family and friends.
Survivors include:
Husband: Tyrone Myrick AAFB
2 Sons: Tyrone Myrick Jr. Altus, Okla.

Reginald Myrick AAFB
2 Grandsons: Jaylin and Jontea
1 Sister and 3 Brothers
Renee was preceded in death by her parents and 1 Brother
Visitation will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home,
Services for Renee Joy Myrick will be held at a later date in Birmingham, Alabama under the direction of the Smith
and Gaston Funeral Home

Esther Christine "Tina" Dearanda

Esther Christine "Tina" Dearanda, 80, of Altus passed away Sunday,
December 12, 2010 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Tina was born January 18, 1930 in Crystal City, Texas. She received
her Masters Degree and worked as an Administrator in the Finance
Department for the US Government. Tina was of the Methodist faith
and lived her life well. She was a loving, compassionate individual
who made friends with everyone she met. She loved life and she
loved people and people loved her in return. She will be missed by
the many she leaves behind.

She is survived by her children, David Krueger and wife Sandra of
San Antonio, Texas; John Krueger of Altus, Oklahoma and Rosalind
Krueger of San Angelo, Texas; her former husband, Arthur Aranda of
Midland, Texas; and many other relatives and friends. She was
preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Bowen.

The family will schedule a Memorial Service at a later date.
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
