Robuck
Noah Robuck, beloved infant son of Chalyn Robuck and Nancy Garcia, came into the world
Wednesday, February 11, 2009, and was taken into the arms of Jesus. Although he was in his
mommy’s womb only sixteen weeks, his family already cherished him.
Preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Kathong Robuck, Noah is survived by his parents,
Chalyn “Charlie” and Nancy Robuck; his brothers and a sister, Dominick Robuck, Elijah Robuck, and
Kalyn Robuck; his grandparents, Blanca Castro, Jesus Garcia, and George Robuck; his great-
grandparents, Josefina Sanchez and Roman Chavez; aunts and uncles, Javier and Kathi Ramirez and
Jack and Jennifer Robuck; and his cousins, Johnathon Ramirez, Gabby Ramirez, Abigale Ramirez,
Madisyn Robuck, Jackson Robuck, and Faith Robuck.

The family will hold a memorial service in Noah’s honor on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at the Olustee
Community Church in Olustee, Oklahoma, with Debbie Kulbeth officiating.

Danette Sue (Simpson) Romines

Danette Sue (Simpson) Romines, age 48 of Sherwood, Oregon passed away at her home on Saturday, June 26,
2004. Danette was born June 17, 1956 in Altus, Oklahoma to Dan and Marie (Love) Simpson.

Danette married Gary Romines on June 26, 1972 in Yuma, Arizona. They later moved back to Altus, lived many
years in Colorado and settled in Oregon in 1996.

She is survived by her husband Gary Romines of the home in Sherwood, Oregon; one son, Shon Romines of
Denver, Colorado; one daughter Brandi Romines of Sherwood, Oregon; her mother, Marie Simpson of Altus,
Oklahoma; two brothers, Todd Simpson and wife Rebecca, Ernest Simpson and wife Vicki of Altus, Oklahoma
along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Danette was preceded in death by her father, Dan Simpson in 1997, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mackie
and Gerry Romines and her grandparents.

Funeral services for Danette Romines have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the First
Baptist Church in Altus with Rod Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the
direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family of Danette (Simpson) Romines will receive friends Wednesday, June 30, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Danette’s family would like to encourage your support of the Relay for Life each July to help fund cancer
research.

Rose

Cindy Denise Rose, 47, of Altus, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Jackson County Memorial
Hospital in Altus after a long battle with cancer.

Cindy was born October 14, 1960, to Eddie F. Couch and Cynthia Ann (Rogers) Couch in Pampa, Texas.
She grew up and attended school in Mangum, Oklahoma.

She loved riding motorcycles, listening to music, hanging out with her many friends, and loved sports,
especially O.U. Cindy was a staunch Democrat. More than anything, she loved her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie F. Couch and Cynthia Ann Cousins.

Cindy is survived by her children, Lindsey Couch and special friend Cory Nichols, of Oklahoma City, Amber
Rose of Altus, Danny J. Rose III, of Dallas, Texas, and Chelsea McKee of Altus; one sister, Robin Oxford of
Altus; one brother, Edward (Ty) Couch and his wife Crystal of Mangum; six nephews, Rusty Couch, Levi
Oxford, Austin Oxford, William Couch, Dallas Couch, and Jeffrey Wilson; one niece, Brittany Wilson, and many
other loving family members and her many, many friends who have supported her during her battle with
cancer.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 until 9:00 pm Monday, October 15 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 16 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel with Reverend
Randy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims
Funeral Home of Altus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red River Federal Credit Union under “Cindy Rose.”

Roma M. Rouse

Roma M. Rouse age 92, passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona after a short illness.
She was born September 7, 1912 in Altus, Oklahoma, she was raised near Olustee, Oklahoma, she attendeded
local schools and graduated from Olustee High school in 1929, she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in
Shawnee, Oklahoma, Southwestern College in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma University in Norman,
Oklahoma, graduating in 1933.
After graduating from Oklahoma University Roma taught High school in Jackson County and Mcalester, Oklahoma
from 1934-1942. She left teaching in 1942 and began a career at Stanolind Oil and Gas Company (now BP
AMOCO) that same year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she worked at Stanolind until 1956.
Roma married John E. Rouse on September 4, 1956. She then moved to the One Bar Eleven Ranch near
Encampment, Wyoming in 1956 where she helped her husband build a successful cattle ranch. The One Bar
Eleven angus cattle herd became well known for outstanding quality and innovative advancements in the breeding
of cattle.
During the 1960’s and 1970’s Roma traveled the world with her husband and helped compile research on cattle
worldwide. Their research lead to the publication of “World Cattle” and “The Criollo; Spanish Cattle in America”.
During those years, Roma and John Rouse visited almost every country in the world.
In 1986, John and Roma donated the One Bar Eleven Ranch and angus herd to Colorado State University for
future research. They moved to Rio Verde, Arizona, where she lived until after her husband’s death in 1990. She
moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona. Roma kept a portion of land and her house at the One Bar Eleven, which she
continued to visit during the summers after her husband’s death.
Roma was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Rouse, her parents Byrn N. and Eva L. McCormick, and
her sister Angie Kels0,
She is survived by step-daughter Martha Rouse Schalk, Step-grandchildren, Claudia Short, Steve Schalk and
Karen Schalk, seven great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, cousin Dwain Jeter and wife Earlene of
Rio Verde, AZ., step-daughter-in-law, Barbara Rouse of Arizona, and many close friends.
Private Graveside services will be held at the Altus City Cemetery. Under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Roma’s memory to the Wyoming Stock Growers
Agricultural Land Trust, PO Box 206, Cheyenne, WY 82003

Mildred Abernathy Rowlett

Mildred Rowlett was born May 8, 1920 in Altus. She was the daughter of the late Charles Oscar and
Lillie (Rogers) Abernathy. She died Oct. 20, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

She married Vance Lloyd Rowlett Oct. 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1957.

Mildred was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. She attended and graduated from Ozark
School. She was a long time member of the Altus First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday
School in the 4 years old department for many years. She was active in the Ozark Home Extension
Club where she held the post of secretary for many years and was recognized as the outstanding
Secretary for the state of Okla.

Survivors include:

Son: Donn Rowlett, Altus

Daughter: Barbara & David Blocker, Altus

Granddaughter: Melissa Burns, Marlow, Ok

Greatgranddaughter: Jena Burns

1 Brother: Charles & Mary Abernathy, Altus

Sister: Velma Abernathy, Altus

Sister-in-law: Arlene Rowlett of Altus

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends in the Hospitality Class at the First
Baptist Church

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Dan Abernathy, G.R. Abernathy, and
Roger Abernathy, 2 sisters, May Gates, and Freda Holloway

Services for Mildred Rowlett are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at 2 PM at the Lowell-Tims
Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family of Mildred Rowlett will greet friends Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 from 6:30PM-8:00PM at the
Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Carlos Ruiz, Sr

Carlos Ruiz, Sr., age 45, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2005, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in
Lawton.

Carlos was born November 4, 1959, in Spur, Texas, to Francisco and Isabel (Rodriquez) Ruiz. He graduated from
Blair High School in 1978 and was a hard worker all his life. He started out pulling cotton at the age of 8 and then
at the age of 16 worked at the Martha Cotton Gin. After graduation, he went to work for ORO. He then worked for
Lloyd Smith Auto for 10 years before going to the Air Force Base to work in Nonappropriated Funds (NAF), 97th
Services Squadron from the spring of 1990 until spring of 2001 when he became a civil service employee for the
97th Maintenance Directorate. He was currently employed by Civil Service as a tool and parts attendant in the
Tanker Division, where his love of vehicles enabled him to become the Vehicle Control Monitor for the division. He
also worked part-time at the Altus Wal-Mart in addition to his job at Civil Service.

Carlos was very active in his community where he served on the American GI Forum and was appointed by
Governor Frank Keating to serve on the Oklahoma Hispanic Committee. He also volunteered for the American
Red Cross for several years. Carlos loved working on cars, riding his motorcycle, and loved music and dancing.
He was very proud of the year he was named tortilla champion during Hispanic week in 1989, when he beat out his
own mother, who received 2nd place. Carlos was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus.

He is survived by his sons, Carlos Ruiz, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Mario Ruiz of Altus; his parents, Francisco and
Isabel Ruiz of Altus; his brothers and sisters, Rick Ruiz and wife Mary, Michael Ruiz and wife Rhonda, Irene Roblez,
Amelia Costner, Lupe Marquez, Isabel Long and husband Kirk, and Christina Ruiz, all of Altus. He is also survived
by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends. Carlos was preceded in death by
one brother, Francisco Ruiz, Jr.

A Rosary will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 9, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus. Funeral Services will be held
10:00 am Wednesday, August 10, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus with Father Joseph Arledge
officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Jackie Lee Russell

Jackie Lee Russell, age 64, a lifelong resident of Altus, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at his home
in Altus.

Jackie was born in Altus on October 2, 1943 to Lloyd and Hazel (Allen) Russell. In 1957 when Jackie was 13
years old he joined the US Army and later was in the Oklahoma National Guard for several years and received an
honorable discharge. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Altus and worked as a truck driver for Jewett Scott
Trucking of Mangum for over 32 years. Russell liked fishing, playing dominoes, and he especially enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends who he loved very much.

Preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Russell; and one grandson, Brett Englett; Jackie is survived by his mother,
Hazel Russell of Altus; two children, Jackie Russell Jr.; Sharon Smith and her husband Guy of Oklahoma City; two
brothers, Odie Russell and his wife Shirley of Hobbs, New Mexico; Donnie Russell of Vernon, Texas; one sister,
Brenda Shirley of Altus; four grandchildren, Della, Josh, Chris, and Christy; three great grandchildren; and
numerous other relatives and many friends.

Services for Jackie Lee Russell will be at the Prairie Hill Cemetery at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2008
with Brother Boyd Whitehead officiating.

RUSSELL

Lenard Leroy Russell, age 73, of Granite, passed away late Saturday afternoon, February 28, 2009, at his
home.

Mr. Russell was born on May 23, 1935, in Grayson County, Texas. Raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Coy Russell of Mt. Peak, Texas, he was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He moved to Ft. Worth,
Texas as a young man and was employed by Mrs. Baird’s Bread and later worked for the City of Ft. Worth for ten
years. While living in Ft. Worth, he met the love of his life, Donna Faye Grady and they were united in marriage
on August 22, 1972. When asked what he was most proud of and most grateful for, he would reply, “It was the
day I met my beloved Faye”. The two of them enjoyed going to the movies, eating out and cheering for their
favorites at wrestling matches. In 1989, they moved to Granite to be closer to their family. Leroy enjoyed working
in the yard, his garden and doing carpentry work, but his favorite pastime was watching wrestling with Faye and
their beloved cat, Champ.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, mother and father-in-law, Cass and Audra Grady, he is survived by his
wife, Faye Russell, of the home; one son, David Allan Russell and his children of Ft. Worth; four sisters-in-law,
Winona Graham of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Mary Lou Cross and husband J.T. of Willow, Gaye Crump of Granite
and Sue Everhart and husband Jim of Terre Haute, Indiana; three brothers-in-law, Carroll Grady of Snyder,
Oklahoma, Joe Grady of Altus, Oklahoma and Eddie Grady and wife Sharon of Midwest City, Oklahoma along
with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services for Lenard Leroy Russell will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at the First United
Methodist Church in Granite with Rev. Jim Hilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Willow Cemetery under the
direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
