Patricia “Pat” Boyd

Patricia “Pat” Boyd, 63, of Altus, passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at
Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Pat was born Dec. 12, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Roger Eugene and Ruby
Geneva (Dancy) Schrantz. She married George William Boyd, and they had
lived in Altus for the past nine years. Before coming to Altus, Pat lived in
Pawhuska and was a member of the women’s Auxiliary VFW of Pawhuska.
She was also a member of the Catholic Church. Pat was a devoted wife and
mother who raised five children. She loved to fish and play bingo. Pat was a
very kindhearted, loving and giving woman. She was straight forward, open,
and “to the point.” Pat took care of anyone and everyone. One of her
favorite jobs was being a substitute teacher.

Pat loved butterflies and the outdoors. She felt that a person’s true wealth is
not measured by money and possessions, but on character and love. Pat had
an abundance of both these traits and was worth a tremendous amount to all
those whose lives were touched by her. On another note, Pat could also be
meaner than a snake if someone crossed her or her family. This was the
motherly aspect of protecting those she loved.

Her greatest love was family and bingo. Everyone knew if you went to
Bingo with her, you had to be quiet. If you were not quiet, or made her mad,
you had best be able to set the record on distance running (in other
words…lots of speed!)

She will be greatly missed by her loving family: her wonderful husband,
George “Will” Boyd of Altus; her mother, Ruby Geneva Miller; five
children, Geneva S. Robinson, Wilma L. Cranor and husband Jon, Ray M.
Pugh and wife Kenna, James I Pugh and wife Christine, and Damon N.
Boyd; three sisters, Mary L. Noaker and husband Paul, Velma Z. Stames
and husband James, and Joetta B. Hurt-Peoples and husband Larry; one
brother, Herman E. McConnell and wife Karen; and best of all, her
wonderful grandchildren, Tabitha Galloway, Michael Galloway, Aaron
Webb, Nicole Banks, Brandy Hendricks, Danielle McBroom, Tyler
McBroom, Jennifer Parks, Sarah Pugh, and Rachel Pugh. She is also
survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lowell-Tims Funeral
Home with David Stewart officiating. The inurnment will be held at a later
date in Kentucky where she will be buried by her father, Roger Schrantz.
