LULA BERTHA SINGLETON

Funeral services for Lula Bertha Singleton, 97, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Lula Bertha Singleton was born February 22, 1907 in Gordon, Texas the daughter of Thomas Sidney and Sarah Elizabeth (Grinage) Tillery and died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Moore, Oklahoma.

She and Robert Alma “Doc” Singleton were married December 26, 1922 in Idabel, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Singleton moved to Tuttle in 1970 from Midwest City. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base. She was an airplane mechanic. She later worked at the Oklahoma State Fair Food Concessions. Mrs. Singleton was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Tuttle.

She was preceded in death by Husband: Robert Alma ‘Doc’ Singleton; three sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include: numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Interment was at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.

ELOIS THOMAS

Elois Thomas, age 82, of Oklahoma City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Elois Thomas was born March 5, 1922 in Newcastle. She was the youngest of seven children born to William Thomas Carl and Hattie (McGee) Carl. Elois grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1940. After high school she attended one year of college at the University of Oklahoma.

On July 8, 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, Jack Monroe Thomas. This past year they celebrated 62 years of marriage. After Elois and Jack got married, Jack spent three and one-half years in the U. S. Army during WWII. After the war was over he returned to Oklahoma in 1946, and they moved to Oklahoma City.

In 1960, they opened their own business called “Jack M. Thomas Plumbing Co.” where she was the bookkeeper and office manager.

She was a member of the N. W. Baptist Church in OKC for 30 years and for the past 20 years has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Newcastle.

Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with Jack. They visited every state in the U.S., also traveling to Canada and Mexico. Her passions in life were shopping, talking on the telephone and reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hattie Carl; two brothers, T. W. and Jack Carl; and four sisters, Blanche Smith, Mary Lee Thomas, Dortha Harman and Elsie Whalen.

Survivors include her husband, Jack, of the home in OKC; one daughter, Becky Pritchett and husband Peter of Bethany; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Carl Wilcox of McAlester, Okla, and Tootsie and Roy Dunning of Newcastle; two grandsons, Nathan Pritchett and wife Shelley of Tulsa and Matthew Pritchett of San Diego, Calif.; three great grandsons, Jack, Alex and Sam; and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

A graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Elmore. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral home in Newcastle.

MILDRED LEOTA CASE

Memorial services for Mildred Leota Case, age 72 of Tuttle, were held 2:00 pm Sunday April 3, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church in Tuttle.

Mildred Leota Case was born October 12, 1932 near Oney, Oklahoma. She died Friday April 1, 2005 in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Case graduated from Oney High School in 1950. She had lived in Tuttle most of her life. She married Wayne Klein, they had two sons. She later married Bernie Monroe (Bud) Case with whom she had three children. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son: Michael Wayne Klein; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Klein of Houston, Texas, and David Case of Houston, Texas; two daughters: Pam Rich of Arapaho, Oklahoma, and Sandra Thomas of Jones, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Arrangements were under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

GLENN L. GIBSON

Funeral services for Glenn L. Gibson, 87 of Minco were held Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 10:00 am at the Minco Church of Christ with Jim Ross Pastor of the Minco Church of Christ and Michael Wright officiating.

Glenn L. Gibson was born April 8, 1917 in Harmon County, Oklahoma to Charles and Minnie (Dodd) Gibson and he died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at his home in Minco.

Mr. Gibson married Kathryn (Manley) on April 12, 1937 in Oklahoma City. He had lived in the Minco community since 1946. He built the Gibson Honey Plant in 1946 and established the Cloverbloom Honey brand in Minco. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Minco. Mr. Gibson was a past president and executive secretary of the American Honey Producers Association and past president of the American Bee Keeping Federation. He was a registered Lobbyist in Washington for over 50 years, lobbied for the bee keepers. He was an avid republican and was the second republican to run for the 6th District Congressman in 1962. Mr. Gibson was a past Mayor of Minco and past school board president and secretary/treasurer.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Minnie Gibson; two brothers: Lawrence and Elmo Gibson; four sisters: Bonnie Sutton, Cleo Brown, Fern Brown, and an infant sister.

Glenn is survived by his wife Kathryn of the home in Minco; one daughter and son-in-law: Glenda and Jim Ross of Minco; one sister: Charleeta Brown of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren: Lucas Marc Ross, Jamie Kay Ross, and Marcus Glenn Ross.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

MARVIN LEE RANSOME

Funeral services for Marvin Lee Ransome, 66 of Minco were held Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at the Minco First Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Robertson of the Canaan Baptist Church northwest of Minco officiating.

Marvin Lee Ransome was born August 15, 1938 in Minco to Rex Marvin and Beulah (Ingram) Ransome and died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Oklahoma City.

He lived in the Minco community all of his life and was a member of the Minco Assembly of God Church. Marvin was a truck driver.

Mr. Ransome was preceded in death by his father Rex M. Ransome; Wife: Shirley (Reed) Ransome June 14, 1979; one brother: Bill Ransome and one sister: Delores Simms.

He is survived by his wife: Erma Rene (Hacker) Ransome of the home in Minco; mother: Beulah Craddock of Minco; two sons: Michael and Sandra Ransome of Mustang and Brian Ransome of Orlando, Florida; one step son: Gary Smith of Carnegie; one daughter: Reni Verser of Minco; three stepdaughters: Tina Nicholl of Minco, Misty and Danny Powers of Alvarado, Texas, Deborah Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers: Edwin and Nancy Ransome of Minco, Terry and Mary Ransome of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Gerald Ransome of Ft. Cobb Lake; three sisters: Bernadean and Roy Ware of Yukon, Glenda and Russ Canary of Oklahoma City, Sharon and Dale Crim of Minco; one sister-in-law: Jean Ransome of Tuttle; 12 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

JEFFREY ALLEN DIXON

Graveside services for Jeffrey Allen Dixon, age 58 of Oklahoma City, OK., were held 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, OK.

Jeffrey Allen Dixon was born December 10, 1946 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the son of James Thomas and Dorothy (Caughron) Dixon. He passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2005 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Mr. Dixon grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Northwest Classen schools. During his junior year he joined the Navy and served for 8 years. Jeffrey returned to Oklahoma City where he has lived since.

He worked various jobs but mainly worked in the construction field.

He was preceded in death by his father James Thomas and a brother James David.

Survivors include: His Mother: Dorothy Dixon of Oklahoma City, OK (Graduate of Tuttle High School); one daughter: Vonda Vaden; one son: Jeffrey Kirk Wright; one grandson: Evan Moe all of Minneapolis, Minnesota and several other family and friends.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle, OK.

JERRY LYNN RUMLEY

Graveside services for Jerry Lynn Rumley, 40 of Chickasha were held 10:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Springcreek Cemetery-Minco with Rev. Whitley of the Verden Assembly of God Church officiating.

Jerry Lynn Rumley was born March 4, 1965 at Oklahoma City to Lester Laverne and Barbara Jean (Gordon) Rumley and died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at his home in Chickasha.

Mr. Rumley lived in the Verden community until 1989 at which time he moved to Chickasha. He was Pentecostal in faith and worked as an automotive mechanic.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Glenn Parret.

He is survived by parents: Lester and Barbara Jean Rumley of Chickasha; one son: Craig Smith; one daughter: Amber Rumley of Marlow; two sisters: Aline and Jimmie Don Woods of Union City, Gwen Parret of Yukon; four brothers: Larry and Shelly Rumley of Cogar, Terry and Anita Rumley of Cement, Richard Rumley of Verden, Lloyd Rumley of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; and host of relatives and friends.

Interment in Springcreek Cemetery-Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

BRIAN STEWART

Funeral services for Brian Stewart, 29, of Tuttle, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005, in the Tuttle High School Gymnasium.

Brian Stewart was born on July 3, 1975 to Jim and Jan Stewart of Tuttle, Oklahoma. Brian went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2005 after a 15-year battle with brain cancer. He was the world’s first pediatric gene pool therapy patient at St. Jude’s hospital in Memphis. After graduating from Tuttle High School, Brian attended Southwestern and USAO.

He created a treasure of memories that will live in our hearts forever. Brian had a great love for his family, church and community. He had a special talent for motivating young people as a volunteer coach for football, baseball, basketball and softball. An avid golfer, he will be sorely missed by his golfing buddies. How he loved the golf trips and OU football games. The Sooners, Jason White and Tuttle Tigers have lost their biggest fan.

His family and friends are thankful for being blessed with Brian’s wonderful smile, his great devotion and most of all, just being a beautiful son, grandson, brother and friend. Now Brian is Home, perfect, enjoying the golf game of his dreams and in the best seat in the house at every OU game.

As we go through life, we learn so much from others. People like Brian touch so many lives inspiring us to embrace the gift of life and enjoy living. For the lasting impression, the bright eyes and blessed smile, Brian will always be loved.

Brian is survived by his parents, Jim and Jan Stewart and sister Brandi Stewart, Tuttle. Grandparents: Jack and Elwanda Walker, Tuttle; and Joe and Jackie Stewart, Marlow. Aunts and Uncles: Jackie Walker, Greg and Rhonda Walker, Tuttle; Ron Walker, OKC; Mick and Penny Stewart, John and Debbie Brockman, Duncan and many cousins and countless friends.

Donations may be made to the Brian Stewart Baseball Field, in c/o Tuttle Public Schools, P.O. Box 780, Tuttle, Oklahoma, 73089 or to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home of Chickasha.

DORIS HUDGINS SEELOS

Memorial services for Doris Hudgins Seelos, 85, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 1:30 pm Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Doris Hudgins Seelos was born January 12, 1920 in Clifton Forge, Virginia and entered into eternal rest April 12, 2005.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and various women’s business groups. A well known motivational speaker, she was an inspiration to many.

She is survived by: Her children: Dolores McGee (Richard) of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Carl Hudgins (Terry) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, David Hudgins (Rebecca) of Napa, California; one sister: Peggy Gear of Sunnyvale, California; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

“Auntie Mame” was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Interment at Memorial Park, Tulsa. Arrangements under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tuttle Care Center, Tuttle, Oklahoma or Heartland Hospice of Chickasha.

BARBARA LEA COY

Funeral services for Barbara Lea Coy, 68 of Minco were held Saturday, April 16, 2005, 10:00 am at the Minco Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wes Warren of the church officiating with Kevin Jones.

Barbara Lea Coy was born April 24, 1936 in Minco to Dewey Jack and Ruth Alene (Garrett) Pendley and died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Tuttle. She lived all of her life in the Minco community. She married Don Roland Coy on April 26, 1956 at Pocasset and was a homemaker. Barbara was a member of the Minco Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school and participated in the Women’s Ministries and served as Secretary of the Sunday school class for a number of years.

Barbara was preceded in death by - her parents: Dewey Jack and Ruth Alene Pendley Navarette; one brother: Raymond Pendley; infant granddaughter; one sister-in-law: Laverne Pendley.

She is survived by her husband Don R. Coy of the home in Minco; two sons: Gary Coy of Minco, Ron and Marsha Coy of Batavia, New York; two daughters: Kayla and Jerry Davidson of Tuttle, Lisa Coy of Mustang; four brothers: Jim and Terry Pendley of Abilene, Texas, Ram and Charlotte Pendley of Tuttle, Larry Pendley of Dibble, Jerry and Paula Pendley of Tuttle; four sisters: Caroly and Windell Williams of Minco, Janet and Tommy Yeakley of Tuttle, Jackie and Wilmer Roberts of Tuttle, LaDonna and Jessie Hernandez of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren: Dena DiPiazza of Surprise, Arizona, Christy and Traci Coy of Batavia, New York, Kyle Davidson of Tuttle; three great grandchildren: Michael, Angelina and Christiana DiPiazza of Surprise, Arizona.

Burial at Evergreen Cemetery of Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home.
