DOROTHY IMO GRAHAM

Funeral service for Dorothy Imo Graham, age 78, of Chickasha were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Todd Littleton of the Snow Hill Baptist Church in Tuttle officiated.

Dorothy was born the daughter of Andrew Jackson Hodge and Minerva Rae Henderson Hodge on October 23, 1926, in Adkins, Arkansas. She passed away on April 17, 2005, following a long illness with kidney disease.

Dorothy moved to Coolidge, Arizona as a small girl, and there she met her future husband, Vernia Graham. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Coolidge, where she and Vernia were later married in 1946, then moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma. Dorothy was a home maker and helped raise their tow sons, Richard and Gary. She was very active in the family service station business. At the time of her death, Dorothy was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church in Chickasha.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her step-mother, four brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Vernia of Chickasha; her sons, Richard and his wife Georganne of Bedford, Texas and Gary and his wife Beverly of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Toon of Phoenix, Arizona and Sharon Duvall of Yuba City, California, and brother, Nick Hodge of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery of Chickasha under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Kidney Disease Research.

LILLIE “LILLIAN” E. BETCHE

Lilllie “Lillian” E. Betche, 86 passed away Monday, April 25, 2005 at her farm in Minco, OK. She was born February 2, 1919 East of Union City to Frank and Rosa (Blecha) Zoubek. Lillian was raised in the Banner community and graduated from Mustang Schools in 1938. On July 22, 1942 she married Lawrence Eden “L.E.” Betche in a ceremony East of Union city at her parents home with the reception being at the Czech Hall in Yukon and they settled in Minco where they farmed all of their lives together. Lillian was a homemaker and farmwife and was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Unit 215 in Minco and also the WFLA #67 Yukon, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.E. on February 18, 2001, her twin brother Billy Lester Zoubek, brothers Charlie and Theodore Zoubek, a sister Viola Buresh and a son-in-law Mark Wagstaff.

Lillian is survived by one daughter - Marilyn Wagstaff Moss and husband Roy of Oklahoma City, one son- Lawrence E. and wife Karen Betche of Houston, Texas, two sisters - Rose Maruska of Oklahoma City, Sylvia and husband Jerry Benda of El Reno as well as a number of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Services were held Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the first Reformed Presbyterian Church in Minco with interment to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. James Ross pastor of the Minco Church of Christ officiated. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to any charity of your choice Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home, Minco. OK. 405-352-4355.

CORA ALICE “JOHNNIE” CRONEY

Funeral services for Cora Alice “Johnnie” Croney, 88 of Minco were held Wednesday, May 4, 2005, 10:00 am at the Minco Church of Christ with Douglas Liticher and James Ross officiating.

Cora Alice “Johnnie” Croney was born February 4, 1917 at Gracemont to Hardy Davis and Martha (Foster) Rees and died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Binger Nursing Center. She lived in the Cogar community since age 9. She married Ray O. Croney January 9, 1935 at Dutton and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Gracemont Church of Christ.

Cora was preceded in death by parents: Hardy and Martha Rees; Husband: Ray Croney, May 24, 1978; one son: Daid Ray Croney, July 24, 1998.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Patty Croney of Tuttle; one daughter and son-in-law: Dian and Ardell Hornbuckle of Minco; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.

Burial at Springcreek Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

JAMES VERNON LAMLE

Funeral services for James Vernon Lamle, 70, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

James Vernon Lamle was born May 20, 1934 in Okeene, Oklahoma, the son of Leland and Leah Lamle and died April 30, 2005 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Mr. Lamle was born and raised on a farm near Okeene, Oklahoma. He graduated from Okeene in 1953. Mr. Lamle met his wife, Elsie, while attending Draughns Business School in Oklahoma City, and they married May 8, 1955. Mr. Lamle worked for the United States Postal Service in Oklahoma City for 27 years. After his retirement he played golf about three times a week. He also worked for Budget Rent-Car at the airport. He taught his boys how to play sports and never beat them in golf! He was also known for yelling at umpires and referees.

Mr. Lamle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuttle, National Association of Letter Carriers, Past president of Tuttle All Sports Booster Club.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Leah and Leland Lamle; one daughter: Deborah Lamle.

Survivors include: Wife: Elsie Lamle of the home; two sons and their wives: Curtis and Susie Lamle of Overton, Texas, Adam and Patti Lamle of Cache, Oklahoma; one sister: Madeline Schroeder of Okeene, Oklahoma; two brothers: Richard Lamle of Hitchcock, Oklahoma, Glen Ray Lamle of Holdenville, Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Ryne, Autumn, Brock, Kelly, Austin and Jenson; best friends: Bob and Doris Bellah, Darrell and Barbara Carson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment was in the Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.

PEARL PAULINE ROSSITER

Funeral services for Pearl Pauline Rossiter, 83, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Word of Faith Church, Tuttle.

Pearl Pauline Rossiter was born August 21, 1921 in McAlester, Oklahoma the daughter of Arthur and Nora F. (Davis) Garrett and died May 1, 2005 in Tuttle.

She lived around Tuttle most of her life. She married Johnny Arterberry in 1939 and he preceded her in death. She married Bert Rossiter June 4, 1973, and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rossiter was also preceded in death by: one son: Arthur Lee Arterberry; one brother: Conner Garrett; one great granddaughter: Peyton Nicole Unchurch

Survivors include: one son: Paul Arterberry and wife, Shirley, of Tuttle; three sisters: Betty Defibaugh of Marlow, Oklahoma, Effie Duke of Marlow, Oklahoma, Pat Lambert of Cache, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law: Mary Garrett of Marlow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.

JOAN DAVISON

Funeral services for Joan Davison, 62, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma were held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Joan Davison was born August 21, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the daughter of Allan Howard and Jessie (Robinett) Davison and died May 6, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Joan grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capital Hill High School. She graduated from OBU with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She worked in the missionary field overseas for several years. Joan began working for the Oklahoma Tax Commission in 1967 and retired in 2004. She was a member of the Regency Park Baptist Church in Moore, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: one sister: Sandi Cravens of Yukon, Oklahoma; nephew: Jeff Garland of Wichita, Kansas; niece: Lisa Johnston of Oklahoma City; great niece: Ava Johnston of Oklahoma City; three uncles: Jim Davison of Tuttle, Leon Davison of Tuttle, and Jim Robinett of Tuttle; two aunts: Lois Singletary of Tuttle and Virgie Conner of Tuttle.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

MICHAEL LESTER DOUBLEDAY

Graveside services for Michael Lester Doubleday, 47, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma were held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, OK.

Michael Lester Doubleday was born January 28, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Otis and Oneta (Aynes) Doubleday. He passed away at his home on Thursday, May 5, 2005.

Michael grew up in Edmond and graduated from Edmond High School. He had worked as a trim carpenter with his father for several years and then worked for FDIC as a computer tech and manager. He had also been employed with CACI as contract manager for DISA at Tinker Field.

Michael was a big OU fan and he enjoyed woodworking and movies. He also liked to study military history.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Eva Aynes.

Survivors include: his parents: Otis and Oneta Doubleday of Edmond, OK; his brother: Dennis Doubleday; his sister-in-law: Mary Doubleday; a niece: Julia Doubleday; and a nephew: Kevin Doubleday all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and aunts, uncles, and several cousins.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

WESLEY AUGUSTUS ENGELKE

Wesley Augustus Engelke entered this world on May 13, 2005 to the waiting, loving, and grieving arms of his parents Michael and Amanda Engelke, who knew he was safe in the arms of Jesus surrounded by loving grandparents.

He is now being fussed over by grandmothers while playing in the gardens. Grandpa’s are making plans - to shoot at blackbirds in the milo fields, ride around on tractors, and to go fishing. To his namesake (Wessie) he will say - “I’m little Pee Wee let’s go run rabbits”.

Wesley leaves behind his parents Michael and Amanda of Tuttle, Paternal grandparents Fred and Debra Engelke, Tuttle; Maternal grandparents Sheila and Tom Dutton, OKC, Nathan and Mary Ferrell, OKC; Great grandparents Ruth Williams of Blanchard, Oleta and J. Robinson, and Dorothy Dutton, OKC. Great grandfather Earl Ferrell of Prague, OK; Great-Great grandparents E.W. and Irene Wilkerson and Felmer Martin of OKC; Uncles and aunts: Allen Engelke of San Diego, CA, David and Amiee Ferrell, and Jennifer Dutton, OKC; numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins and family friends.

He was with us for a brief 7-1/2 months as we awaited his birth in July 2005. He will touch our lives and live in our hearts forever as he waits for us “On the far side banks of Jordan” with all our other loved ones.

CONNIE SUE MINCEY

Connie Sue Mincey was born on June 1, 1942 in Olustee, OK to Everett and Edith Drake. She married Clayton Emory Mincey on June 19, 1960 in Eldorado, OK. She and her husband moved to Tuttle in 1973 and remained until her illness with Alzheimer’s disease. She passed from this life on May 14, 2005 in Oklahoma City.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, parents and four sisters. She is survived by her son Lyndon Mincey and wife Stacy, daughter Angie Plumlee and husband Mitch, son Timothy Mincey and wife Michelle, son Anthony Mincey and wife Denna, and seventeen grandchildren all of Tuttle, OK and many nephews and nieces. She was a wonderful, loving mother and homemaker. She cherished all of her grandchildren. Her kind nature showed even in the last few years of the disease. When she would see her children and grandchildren, she would say, “I don’t know who you are, but I know I love you”. She would tell everyone she saw they were either pretty or handsome. There was never an unkind word from her mouth. What a wonderful Christian example she has left behind. She will truly be missed.

Funeral services were conducted by Baggerly Funeral Home at the Tuttle Church of Christ on May 17, 2005. Her final resting place is beside her husband in Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.

RAY P. IRVIN

Funeral services for Ray P. Irvin age 74 of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Ray P. Irvin was born August 6, 1930 in Checotah, Oklahoma. He was the son of Luther Garvin and Ellen Mollet (Duckworth) Irvin. He died Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Oklahoma City.

He moved to Minco in 1935 and graduated from Minco High School in 1949. He married Nancy Bea Heidelberg, July 22, 1949 in Minco. While living in Minco he worked at Tinker Field until 1958 when he bought a farm east of Tuttle. He operated the dairy farm until he retired in 1971. He bought Irvin Packing Plant in Chickasha which he operated until 1976.

Mr. Irvin was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tuttle and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He became an honorary member of the FFA in 1972. He was a member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Mr. Irvin enjoyed football games and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and he was the last of their six children.

Survivors include: His wife Nancy Bea Irvin of the home in Tuttle; two daughters: Donna Oden and husband Doyle of Moore, Karen Garrison and husband Roger of Tuttle; one son: Bennie Ray Irvin of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren: Jason Oden, Jennifer Davis, Shawn O’Hara, Rachel O’Hara, Scott O’Hara, Jeremy Don Irvin, and Jeffrey Dale Irvin; three Great Grandchildren: Savannah O’Hara, Dillon Davis and Shannon O’Hara.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery Minco, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

HAROLD BENNETT KUYKENDALL

Harold Bennett Kuykendall, 80 of Oklahoma City was born on December 4, 1924 at Gracemont, Oklahoma to Charles Fox and Alta Marie (Craddock) Kuykendall, he passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital.

Harold was raised in the Minco community and moved to Oklahoma City in 1974. On October 12, 1946 he married Ruby Reynolds at Verden. He was a member of the Kelham Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and was President of the Kelham Domino Club, as well as his Sunday school class.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Alta Kuykendall; one son: Jim Bennett Kuykendall on 8-14-1997; and one brother: Johnny Ray Kuykendall in 1933.

He is survived by his wife Ruby of Oklahoma City; Beverly and Steven Curry of Central City, Nebraska; Ron Kuykendall of Wichita, Kansas; Kevin and Diana Kuykendall of Phoenix, Arizona; Lora Kuykendall of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kirk and Kay Kuykendall, Hershel and Carole Kuykendall all of Oklahoma City; Verna Gaye and Bill Overton, Valta Dee and LeRoy Kirkegard, Juanita Handke all of Minco; nine Grandchildren; four Great Grandchildren.

Harold was a loving husband and father. He was also an avid domino player. Services were held Monday, May 23, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Minco.

Dr. Don Rodgers and Rev. Gary Adams officiated. Burial at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

LELA FREEZE

Funeral services for Lela Freeze, 98, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday May 31, 2005 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Lela Freeze was born February 25, 1907 in Mountain View, Arkansas the daughter of William Walker and Isabella (Lynn) Haley and died May 26, 2005 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

She and William Freeze were married March 17, 1925 in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Mrs. Freeze taught school at Norick Chapel Schools in Mountain View before moving to Oklahoma. They moved to Tuttle in 1935. Mr. Freeze preceded her in death in 1986. She lived in Sallisaw for the last two years.

Mrs. Freeze was a member of the Tuttle Church of Christ from 1938 to 1980. She joined the Newcastle Church of Christ in 1980.

She was also preceded in death by: Parents; two sons: Jackie Gene Freeze and Donald Dean Freeze; seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one son: Larry Freeze of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Linda Pasquis, Gayla Hapsas, Patrick Freeze, Michael Freeze and Marla Pearlman; eleven great grandchildren: Kimberly Pasquis, Carri Pasquis, Christen Hapsas, Jeffrey Hapsas, Kelly Hapsas, Rachel Freeze, Sarah Freeze, Laura Freeze, Erin Freeze, Ryan Pearlman and Katie Pearlman.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
