RICHARD COY BOGGS

Richard Coy Boggs passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005 in Blanchard, Okla.

Richard was born March 20, 1945 in Hollis, Okla. to R.C. and Laura “Estelle” Boggs. He was the youngest boy of their 10 children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eddie and Perry, sisters Tommy Jo and Jesse “Tootie,” and daughter DaVonna “Dee Dee.”

He is survived by his wife, Donna; three sons, Richard, Jr., David, and Levi; three daughters, Laura, DaLara “Dee,” and Krystal; one granddaughter, Tommee Kae; two brothers, Dean and Jerry; three sisters, Billi Ruth, Katey and Peggy; and many many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Richard owned Richard’s Barber and Tack in Blanchard for over 27 years. He was a very loving person and was loved by so many. He loved to work around the house, show his classic car, and fish with his boys.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Blanchard. A trust fund has been set up in his name at First National Bank in Blanchard for those who wish to donate. Reverend Glen Sims will officiate with interment held in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.

ALBERTA CAVETT CELLIER

Alberta Cavett Cellier was born May 29, 1913 in Maud, Okla. to Rhoda (Smith) and Robert L. Bean. She went to be with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2005 at 92 years of age. Alberta was a long time resident of Newcastle and she was in the first graduating class of Newcastle High School, the class of 1931.

Alberta attended the First Baptist Church in Newcastle and she enjoyed participating with the Jolly Elders. She also enjoyed going to the Newcastle Senior Citizens and loved visiting with family and friends.

Alberta was preceded in death by her mother, father and two sisters, Mary Franklin and Jewel Bean. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charley Cavett in 1976 and then by her second husband Lewis Cellier in 1998.

Survivors include: her stepson Clayton Cellier and his wife Patsy of Midwest City; grandchildren Amy Nett of Newcastle, Sue Ann and her husband Kyle Burger of Denver, and Christy and her husband Greg Ellis of Blanchard; great grandchildren Jonathon McClary, Stacy Burger and Jason Burger; nieces Theda and her husband Buster Richardson, Betty Stems, Marian and her husband R.W. Clark, Judith and her husband Roger Ray, Patsy Lee, Donna and her husband Warren Steyaert and Rosemary and her husband Nelson McQueen; nephew Charles Smith and his wife Judy; as well as numerous other cousins and friends.

Alberta will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The memory of Alberta’s kind and gentle nature will remain in our hearts forever.

Services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005 in the Eisenhour Chapel, Blanchard. Reverend Charles Elmore officiated with interment held in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.

LESTER LAVERN RUMLEY

Funeral services for Lester Lavern Rumley, 80 of Chickasha were held Monday, August 15, 2005, 10:00 am at the Springcreek Baptist Church at Cogar with Rev. Rodger Willis of the Springcreek Baptist Church officiating.

Lester LaVern Rumley was born October 23, 1925 at Cogar to Joseph Thomas and Marie (Pugh) Rumley and died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at his home in Chickasha.

Lester married Barbara Jean Gordon on July 2, 1947 at Anadarko. They moved to Verden in 1968, lived there 38 years upon moving to Chickasha. He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class during WWII and worked as a roughneck in the oilfield most of his life. He was a member of the Springcreek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Marie Rumley; one son: Jerry Lynn Rumley; one son-in-law: Glenn Parret; two sisters: Bertha Kinsey and Mattie Smith; also two sets of twin brothers.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home in Chickasha; two daughters and son-in-law: Aline and Jimmie Don Woods of Union City and Gwen Parret of Yukon; four sons and two daughters-in-law: Larry and Shelly Rumley of Cogar, Terry and Anita Rumley of Cement, Richard Rumley of Verden, and Lloyd Rumley of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; 18 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren.

Burial in Springcreek Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

LENA MAY CRUZAN

Funeral services for Lena May Cruzan, 82, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the Tuttle Church of Christ.

Lena May Cruzan was born July 21, 1923 in Pryor, Oklahoma the daughter of Tom and Anna May (McIntire) Carver and died August 21, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She lived most of her life in the Chelsea, Oklahoma and Tuttle areas. She and Glenn B. Cruzan were married January 23, 1943 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Cruzan was a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ during World War II. She was a member of the Tuttle Church of Christ.

Mrs. Cruzan was also preceded in death by parents; two grandsons: Billy Joe Conner, Michael Glenn Conner; four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: two daughters: Nancy and Fred Pope of Oklahoma City, Glenda Conner of Lindsay, Oklahoma; two sons: David Cruzan of Oklahoma City, Junior and Virginia Cruzan of Tuttle; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.

CLARENCE B. “BO” NIXON

Clarence B. “Bo” Nixon, Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend left his family to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 19th, 2005 at the age of 77.

He was born on June 17th, 1928 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Norma Gladys (Bell) and Clarence Benjamin Nixon, who both preceded him in death.

He attended Blanchard High School, as well as Hills Business College, University of Central Oklahoma, and Moore-Norman Vo-Tech School.

“Bo” proudly served our country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the South Pacific during WWII, where he received the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan).

Upon returning from service in the Armed Forces, “Bo” met and married his love and life partner for the next 57 years, Ora V. Hall. He is survived by their 2 children; daughter Elaine Nixon Page and her husband Kenneth Page, and son Derek Nixon and his wife Carolyn Johnson, and granddaughter Tessa Reeves Bromley and her husband Mark Bromley and great-grandson Vance Ashton Bromley.

“Bo” retired after 25 years of service at Tinker Air Force where he was a Computer Analyst to pursue his true calling, civic and community service. He was tirelessly dedicated to serving the veterans and was very active in the VFW and American Legion Organizations and held the following positions through the years – Post Commander (7 years), Post Quartermaster, Post Adjutant, Post Service Officer, Post Judge Advocate, Post Trustee as well as District Offices of Commander, Sr. Vice Commander, Jr. Vice Commander and Loyalty Day Chairman.

He was a life member of Tony K. Burris VFW Post #3608 in Blanchard and a member of American Legion Post #261.

Bo was cited as All-State Commander in 1981 and 1988 and his post was ranked 7th in World competition of outstanding VFW Posts with his post showing over a 300% increase in membership.

He also served as a committee member with former Governor Nigh for the creation of the Veteran’s Memorial in Oklahoma City at the State Capital’s Historical Building.

One of his final tributes to veterans was his design and securing of pledges to fund a memorial for deceased veterans of McClain County which was to be erected at the Blanchard Cemetery.

He served as VA Medical Center of Oklahoma City volunteer for the past 12 years.

“Bo” acted as volunteer coordinator for Blanchard in the aftermath of the 1973 tornado and organized the clean-up campaign as well as securing medical quarters and negotiating agency settlements.

For the countless hours he devoted to his community and the Veterans Organizations, he was nominated for the Mr. VFW of the year award in 1993.

A Day of Honor was proclaimed on June 9, 1992 for “Bo” and wife Ora, by the City of Blanchard, for the support of the community.

“Bo” ran for State Representative for District 46 in 1982 and continued until his death to monitor and challenge officials on legislation affecting Veterans and their families.

“Bo” was a faithful and dutiful servant of the Lord and a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Blanchard.

“Bo” was a hard-working, civic-minded man who volunteered not only his time but his services for others in need and expected nothing in return. He was humble and a humanitarian in every sense of the word and will be greatly missed by his loving family and the surrounding community.

He had a love for reading, a thirst for knowledge and he never met a stranger. We will miss his smile, his quick wit, his charm and all of his unique sayings.

Bo leaves behind his sisters; Billie Nixon, Patricia Clark, Bonnie Terrell, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless other loved ones.

Predeceased by sister Betty Thurman and brother R.L. Sullivan.

Memorial gifts may be made in “Bo’s” honor to either the First Baptist Church Blanchard or the American Heart Association.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Blanchard. Reverend Ray Sims officiated with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.

OLETA EVANS

Oleta Evans was born April 6, 1930 to William (Bill) and Maudie (Ingram) Friesen in Hinton, OK. She passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at her home in Hinton, OK at the age of 75. Oleta was united in marriage to Elward Evans December 8, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of the Gracemont Assembly of God Church. Oleta lived all her life in the Hinton area. She enjoyed taking care of her grandkids.

Oleta was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Maudie Friesen, step-mother, Alma Friesen, one daughter, Rena Fern Evans and one brother, Wayne Friesen.

Survivors include: her husband of 57 years, Elward Evans of the home, Hinton, OK; two sons, Ray Evans and his wife Darlene, and Roy Evans and his wife Jeanne all of Minco, OK; eight grandchildren, Shawna Haase, Jeannie Frazier, Melissa Williams, Crystal Williams, Jason Evans, Rena Evans, Justin Evans, and Michelle Pastel; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Mary Ann Jett of Binger, OK; five brothers, Dan Friesen of Bakersfield, CA, Paul Friesen of Hinton, OK, Lloyd Friesen of El Reno, OK, Vernon Friesen of El Reno, OK and Billy Friesen of Texas.

Services were at Assembly of God Church, Friday, 10:00 am, August 26, 2005, Gracemont, OK with Rev. James McCaleb officiating. Burial in Murray Cemetery, Binger, OK under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, OK.

JIMMY F. FLEMING

Funeral services for Jimmy F. Fleming, 69, of Moore, Oklahoma were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2005 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Jimmy F. Fleming was born August 25, 1935 in Amber, Oklahoma the son of Orville Edward and Daisy May (Scott) Fleming and died August 23, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Jimmy was raised in Amber, Oklahoma and graduated from Amber High School. He and Reba G. Hodges were married September 25, 1953 in Amber. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and served until 1960. Jimmy attended college at Central State (U.C.O.) and received his master’s degree from O.U. After receiving a teaching degree in biology, chemistry and physics, he taught in Vinita, Oklahoma for 6 years. He trained for a year at IBM and became a computer systems analyst. He worked for several banks and retired from Bally’s Inc.

He was preceded in death by: parents; two brothers: Jerry Don ‘Pete’ Fleming and W.K. Fleming.

Survivors include: Wife, Reba Fleming of the home; two daughters and their husbands: Reva Dawn Fleming and Dave Wallace of Moore, Oklahoma, Dana Elizabeth Fleming Smith and Jack D. Smith of Meridian, Mississippi; one son: James Douglas Fleming of Reading, Massachusetts; two grandchildren: Haylie Dawn Smith and husband Robert B. of Meridian, Mississippi, Benjamin Parker Smith of Meridian, Mississippi; great granddaughter: Kinsey Bardin Smith of Meridian, Mississippi; sister: Nettie Fleming Hodges of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two brothers: Edward Fleming of Ada, Oklahoma, Paul Fleming of Mesquite, Texas.

Interment was in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle, Oklahoma.

CHAROLETTE ANN HACKER

Funeral services for Charolette Ann Hacker, 56, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2005 at the Tuttle High School Gymnasium.

Charolette Ann Hacker was born November 5, 1948 in Frederick, Oklahoma the daughter of Merle and Bernice (Hill) Barnes and died September 9, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She attended school in Cyril, received her Bachelor’s Degree from USAO and her Master’s Degree from UCO. Charolette had lived in Tuttle for 27 years. She began teaching for Tuttle Public Schools January, 1980 and was currently serving as Tuttle Middle School Counselor.

She and Fred Hacker were married June 8, 1968.

Survivors include: Husband: Fred Hacker of the home; two daughters: Tiffany Rackley of Tuttle, Tari Chaddrick of Tuttle; one son: Shane Hacker of Edmond; Parents: Merle and Bernice Barnes of Cyril; three sisters: Merlene Orme of Duncan, Nita Warren of Norman, Kayla Davis of Oklahoma City; one brother: Tom Barnes of Ft. Worth, TX; five grandchildren: Baylee Chaddrick, Ty Chaddrick, Kamryn Rackley, Kason Rackley and Gavin Morris.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Tuttle.

KASEY HUNTER SHORTER

Graveside services for Kasey Hunter Shorter, infant son of Rick and Kara Shorter, were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle.

Kasey Hunter Shorter was born September 5, 2005 and died September 5, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by, Grandfather: Roy Shorter; Grandfather: Bob Clayter; Twin brothers: Roy and Lee Shorter.

Survivors include his parents: Rick and Kara Shorter of the home in Tuttle; three brothers: Skyler Parker Shorter of the home, Bret Shorter of the home, and Curtis Shorter of the home; Grandmother: Sue Clayter of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Grandmother: Donna Shorter of Oklahoma City; Grandparents: C.R. and Levera Somers of Maysville; Aunts and Uncles: Kerri Richardson of Oklahoma City, Doyle and Connie Somers of Norman, Pam and David Somers of Wynnewood, Belinda and Ricky Wilkerson of Pauls Valley; Great Grandparents: Troy and Lora Howard of Marlow.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

ELBERT "ED" YOUELL

Elbert “Ed” Youell age 78 of Tuttle passed away Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Integris Southwest Medical Center in OKC.

He was born on March 27, 1927 in Wilson, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of 4 children born to Elbert Youell and Alton Beatrice Goode. Ed grew up on the farm in Carter, Co., Oklahoma. In his earlier years he attended country schools Prairie Valley and later Zanies. Two days after he turned 17 years old, he joined the U. S. Navy. He served 2 years over seas during WWII before being honorably discharged in 1946. After being discharged he returned home to Oklahoma and met a young lady by the name of Joyce Stubbs. They were married on August 23, 1947 in Wilson, OK. This past year they celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Ed knew he wanted to pursue his education so he began attending Murray Jr. College in Tishomingo. He later attended East Central in Ada where he received his B.S. degree in mathematics. He continued on and in 1954 received his Masters degree from Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater. For nearly 12 years Ed taught math, was a principal or was a superintendent with the Oklahoma Public Schools system. He had lived in various towns including, Foraker, Davenport, Bokchito, Yale and Indiahoma.

In the late 1960’s he began working for General Electric and later the Bendix Corp. where he was involved in aerospace projects. Ed has lived in the Tuttle area since 1986 and was a member of the Snow Hill Baptist Church. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. For the past 20 years he has enjoyed buying and selling used cars, salvaging and selling car parts.

He will be remembered as a dear husband, a wonderful father, a special grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister; and his only child and daughter, Doris Martinez.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; two granddaughters, Robin Cawthra and husband Andrew of Edmond and Kelly Dick and husband Brian of Edmond; one great grandson Gavin; one great granddaughter on the way, three sisters-in-law; Lois Youell of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jenetta Brown of Elmer, Okla, and Scyglenda Sue Lander and husband Pete of Arkansas City, Kan.; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at Snow Hill Baptist Church East of Tuttle. Officiating will be Dr. Todd Littleton. Pallbearers will be; Andrew Cawthra, Brian Dick, Alifonso Martinez, Keith Lee, Mark and Richard Johnson. Funeral arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
