ELSIE FERN PLUMLEE

Funeral services for Elsie Fern Plumlee, 90, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.

Elsie Fern Plumlee was born July 30, 1916 in Gruver, Texas the daughter of Orville Andrew and Elsie Ruth (Hostetter) Tomlinson and died April 30, 2007 in Chickasha.

Elsie moved from Texas to Grady County when she was 12 years old. She and Jess Plumlee were married January 16, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Snowhill Baptist Church. Elsie was a member of the Grady County Home Extension Club and the Tuttle Senior Citizens.

Elsie was also preceded in death by: Parents; two sisters: Leola Ring and Emily Beth Shay; one brother: Bill Tomlinson.

Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law: Jeanie Bledsoe and husband Dr. Joe Bledsoe of Chickasha, Pat Paxton and husband Dr. Ward Paxton of Allen, Texas, Mary Lou Fry and husband Dr. Stacy Fry of Tuttle; one brother: Leroy Tomlinson of San Diego, California; one sister: Etta Faye Howell of Mitchell, South Dakota; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

CHRISTI SUE STEPHENS

Funeral services for Christi Sue Stephens, age 40, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held 1:30 pm Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the True Oak Fellowship Church of Tuttle.

Christi Sue Stephens was born July 11, 1966 in Metairie, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Muril Wayne Lewis and Marilyn Sue Bentley Freeman. She died Friday June 8, 2007 at her home in Tuttle.

Christi graduated from Marlow High School in 1984. She later moved to Bridgecreek and had lived in the Tuttle area for the last 12 years. She worked for Hoco Drilling Company in Edmond.

She and Scott Andrew Stephens were married June 2, 2005 in the Grand Cayman Island.

Her mother, Marilyn Sue Freeman, and grandmothers Bonnie Mae Haston and Trudy Lewis preceded her in death.

Survivors include: Her husband Scott Andrew Stephens of the home in Tuttle; Three children: Andrew Tyler Skidmore, Ethan Daniel Skidmore and Morgan Alyssa Stephens; Parents: Wayne and Sharon Lewis of Norman, Oklahoma; Step-Father: Arnold Freeman of Chickasha; Sister: Kellie Alifa and her husband Kossi of Tuttle; Three step-sisters and brother-in-laws; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and great friends.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christi Stephens Children Memorial Fund at Crosspointe Church, 2601 24th Ave. S.E., Norman, OK 73071. Please make checks payable to: Christi Stephens Children Memorial Fund.

CARL JACKSON ‘JACK’ WALKER

Funeral services for Carl Jackson ‘Jack’ Walker, 82, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Carl Jackson ‘Jack’ Walker died peacefully, as he went to meet the Lord, surrounded by family on June 6, 2007. Jack was born March 26, 1925 to William and Ella Walker.

Jack attended Tuttle schools, then served in the U.S. Navy, upon the U.S.S. Randall, during World War II with honorable discharge.

Following the war, he returned home to marry his wife, Elwanda. Jack drove for Lee Way Motor Freight and Transcon for eleven years. In 1964 he began Jack Walker Oil Company, a Phillips 66 distributor, in Tuttle, Oklahoma. He loved greeting new customers and making new friends. Just three weeks ago, he was still riding in bobtail trucks delivering fuel. Jack can be described as a hard working man who was willing to share an easy conversation a quick smile or a good joke.

Jack was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson, Brian Stewart.

Jack is survived by: His lovely wife of 61 years, Elwanda, who has always been right by his side; one daughter: Jan Stewart and husband Jim of Tuttle; three sons: Jackie Walker of Tuttle, Greg Walker of Tuttle, Ron Walker and wife Paula of Edmond, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

CURTIS ROSS STRANGFELD

Funeral services for Curtis Ross Strangfeld, 50, were held 10:00 am, Friday June 8, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tuttle, OK.

Curtis Ross Strangfeld passed away May 31, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born February 24, 1957 in Chickasha, OK to Russell and Audine (Rutledge) Strangfeld.

He graduated from Moore High School in 1975. He then married Debbie Leavitt and resided in Moore, OK and later moved to Enterprise, UT. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his quad on the mountains, spending time with his family; especially his granddaughters who loved Papa, and flying the Cessna with his brother.

He was preceded in death by his father Russell, Stepfather Leon Abney, and granddaughter Angel.

He is survived by his wife Deborah of Enterprise, UT; two daughters: Tasha Bushar of San Diego, CA and Tabatha Stephenson (Dave) of St. George, UT; three grandchildren: Talia, Shadow, and Cicily; mother: Audine Guernsey (Cliff) of Tuttle, OK; one brother: Dale Strangfeld (Terry) of Blanchard, OK and many nieces and nephews who loved spending time with their Uncle Ross.

Interment was in the Laflin-Creek Cemetery near Alex, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

PEGGIE JUNE SHULTZ

Memorial service for Peggie June Shultz, 70, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Heritage Family Baptist Church in Tuttle.

Shultz was born June 29, 1936 in Hope, Oklahoma the daughter of Lyle Harold and Roberta (Scott) Reeder and died June 10, 2007 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She and Albert Shultz were married September 18, 1955 in Pumpkin Center, Oklahoma.

He preceded her in death. They had lived south of Tuttle since 1969. Peggie was a member of the 9th Street Church of Christ in Chickasha.

Survivors include: Children, grandchildren and great grandchild Peggy and Mike Mayfield LeeAnn and Grant Kaufmann Matthew Mayfield Sharon and Todd Smith Bradley and Jennie Ransome and son Bryan Brandi Ransome Clint Shultz Nathan Shultz, Lee Shultz Johnny and Sue Ann Shultz Matthew Corley, Amanda Shultz 2 sisters: Wilma Brooks of Oklahoma City Virginia Minson of Marlow 2 brothers: Max Reeder of Chickasha Bill Reeder of Rush Springs, Oklahoma Several nieces, nephews and cousins Services are under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

NELL LONG JONES

Nell was born April 24, 1924 in Centerville Iowa the daughter of George Wesley and Virginia Evans Long.

She passed away in her home on June 4, 2007 at the age of 83.

Nell moved with her family to Tuttle Oklahoma in 1933 and graduated from Tuttle High School in 1941.

During World War II Nell was accepted for Temporary Civil Service and after six weeks of orientation at Tinker Air Force Base was assigned to the Pentagon in Washington D.C. At the end of the war Nell moved to Sacramento, California and was employed at The Bank of America for sixteen and a half years.

In December, 1961 Nell returned to Oklahoma and extended her banking career with The First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City, retiring as an Assistant Vice President in operations after serving that institution for twenty four years.

Nell married Carl Edward Jones in May 1963. Carl preceded her in death June 3, 1995. Nell was preceded in death by her parents George Wesley Long, Virginia Mae Grimes; Three brothers: George Max Long, Richard (Dick) Long, and Robert Lee (Bob) Long.

Nell is survived by two step-children: Patty Jones Harper and Lonnie Strickland. Three step-granddaughters, Gwen Harper, and Kim and Heather Strickland; Nephews Mack Henry Long, Bill Long; Nieces Kathy Faulkner, Mary Wilson, Kelly Baker and several grand nieces and nephews.

A special acknowledgement to her step-father M.E. “Bud” Grimes, who was everything a father should be.

Services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Tuttle. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.

J B BROWN

Funeral services for J B Brown, 73, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Tuttle United Methodist Church under the direction of Reverends Dave Conrad and Bill Long.

J B Brown slipped away from life but not our hearts and memories in his sleep Wednesday afternoon, June 13, 2007 in Baptist Hospital with family and friends by his side.

J B was born September 29, 1934 in Marlow, Oklahoma. After graduating from Bray High School, he married his grade school sweetheart, Nora Thompson, on Christmas day 1952 in Marlow, Oklahoma. Afterwards he served two years in the U.S. Army.

He later worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He worked for 30+ years and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration.

He was an active member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in SW Oklahoma City and for the last 35 years the Tuttle United Methodist Church.

He volunteered for many years as the president of the Tuttle Band Boosters, served on many committees and held offices in both churches and worked with the Boy Scouts of America in Oklahoma City.

Before declining health some of his best days were spent fishing and working in his garden and yard.

His favorite activity was being involved in whatever his children or grandchildren were doing.

J B was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and friend to everyone who met him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Belle Brown, of Marlow, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: His wife of 54 years, Nora Brown, of the home; One son: Kelly Brown and wife Rebecca of Fort Drum, NY; One daughter: Laura Womack and husband Erick of Mustang; Four grandchildren: Landon and Ethan Womack of Mustang, Amy and husband Chris Lunow of Mustang, Lisa Brown of Deer Creek; One great grandson: Gavin Lunow of Mustang; One brother: Walter Brown; One sister: Anna Lee McLearen both of Marlow; Many nieces and nephews and his constant companion, his sock-fetching dog, Bingo.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tuttle United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in JB’s name.

MARGARET “MARGE” TAYLOR

MARGARET "MARGE" TAYLOR, Born on July 25, 1934 in Bessie, OK and passed away on August 8, 2007 in Mesquite, TX. She is retired from Hotel Intercontinental as Catering Director and loved gardening. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Taylor, mother, Lena Stermer and father, Ernest Stermer. She is survived by four sons, Ronald DeShazo and wife, Phyllis, Darrel DeShazo and wife, Ginger, Mark Deshazo and wife, Theresa, and Tim DeShazo and wife, Benna; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Lola Ashley; also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives, and special niece, Pam Sparks and husband, Jerry. She was loved by everyone who met her and will be greatly missed. Service was at 10AM, Saturday, August 11, 2007 in Restland Wildwood Chapel.

SHERI LYNN BAUMANN

Funeral services for Sheri Lynn Baumann, 49, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Heritage Family Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Sheri Lynn Baumann was born July 9, 1958 in Shannondoah, Iowa the daughter of Ira Motley, Jr. and Betty (Hungerford) Motley and died August 15, 2007 in Tuttle.

Sheri lived in Tuttle most of her life. She formerly worked at Tri-City Walmart for 18 years.

Sheri loved life and making everybody smile and laugh. She was a special and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sheri loved her family, especially her two grandchildren Annalyn and Colby.

She was preceded in death by father: Ira Motley, Jr.

Survivors include: Husband: Melvin Baumann of the home; One son and daughter-in-law: Brent and Stacie Baumann of Tuttle; Mother: Betty Motley of Tuttle; Two sisters: Twin sister, Tammy Smith of Tuttle, Sonja Ferguson of Oklahoma City; Four brothers: Robert Motley of Shawnee, Mitchel Motley of Meeker, Randy Joslin of Norman, Jerry Joslin of Oklahoma City; Two grandchildren: Annalyn Baumann, Colby Baumann; Nieces: Laci and Tia McBride; Nephew: Tim Gulick. She loved to take care of MAMA and PUDDIN her special cats.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

ALBERT ‘GENE’ EUGENE KELLEY

Albert ‘Gene’ Eugene Kelley was born September 15, 1926, the child of Albert Worth Kelley, Sr. and Maud Mae (Sanger) Kelley, and passed from this life on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the age of 81 after a lengthy illness.

Albert was born in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, and lived most of his life in the Bridge Creek area, settling in Tuttle in 1968. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Germany and France until being honorably discharged in 1952. He worked on his family’s farm in Bridge Creek before starting a career with Nabisco where he retired in 1987 after 41 years.

He married Wanda M. Smalley on March 20, 1983, and together, they loved going to church, reading the Bible and working in the garden. He loved the OU Sooners, eating Nabisco cookies, but especially his children and grandchildren. He attended Snowhill Baptist Church for 35 years until 2006 when he became a member of the Tuttle Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by: His parents, his daughter, Paula McKenzie; his brothers: Calvin Kelley, Vernon Kelley, Harold Kelley, Clarence Kelley and Jackson Kelley; his sisters: Gertrude Welchel, Clara McCormick and Alice Claytor; grandson, Jarrod Smalley; and special aunt and uncle, Will and Hattie King of Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: wife, Wanda, of the home in Tuttle; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Mary Kelley of Newcastle, OK; daughter, Heather Smalley of Omaha, NE: daughter, Kathy Milligan of Wayne, NE; son, Kim Smalley of Coyle, OK; daughter, Karri DuBois of Argyle, TX; son and daughter-in-law Kirk and Laura Smalley of Coyle, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Byron Hughes of Tuttle, OK; sister, Vera Warnasche of Belton, TX; daughter-in-law, Cindy Smalley of Blanchard, OK; son-in-law, Jim McKenzie of Mustang, OK; Smalley-Sparks of Purcell, OK; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at the Tuttle Church of Christ at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2008, under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home with burial following in Blanchard Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Gene Kelley, Keenan Kelley, Krieg Kelley, Kim Smalley, Kirk Smalley, Byron Hughes and Austin Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers are Brad McKenzie, Dustin Milligan, Josh Milligan, Tom Pollock, Jay Watson, Jack Collins, David Wynn, Gerald Sipe and Bob Scott.
