Taylor Roy Finley went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, April 3, 2008, after an extended illness at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, at Westside Church of Christ, 726 McGee, Norman, OK with interment to follow at I00F Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, April 4, from 6:00-8:00 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook, Norman, OK.

PHYLLIS MARY (PATTERSON) STORMS

Phyllis Mary (Patterson) Storms, 86, of Chickasha, formerly of Norman, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Bridge View Methodist Church of Norman with Reverend David Poteet officiating. Entombment will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.

Phyllis was born January 21, 1922, in Edmond, Oklahoma, to Tolford and Emma Jane Patterson. She graduated from Edmond High School and then from Central State Teacher College (University of Central Oklahoma) in 1944. Phyllis married Luther Leon Storms on November 11, 1945, in Edmond. They moved to Norman in 1964 from Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, M.L. (Pat) Patterson and Vercil Patterson; son, Brian Payne Storms and great-grandson, Micah Thomas Fleming. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Leon Storms, of Chickasha, sons Bruce and his wife, Jan, of Chickasha; Clark and wife Debbie, of Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Bryan Storms and wife, Carrie of Aledo, TX; Deborah Storms Fleming and husband, Brandon, of Bedford, TX; Blake and Kelsey Storms, both of Ft. Worth, TX; Jonathan Storms, of Providence, RI; and Jeffrey Storms, of Austin, TX; sister, Gerry Crews, of Norman; great-grandchildren, Laura and Bryce Storms, of Ft. Worth, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Katherine Hayden

Katherine Hayden was born Feb. 16, 1927 in Austin, Texas, to Charlie H. Jones and Mary Burns. The Jones’ relocated to Chickasha from Austin, along with their children Eddie, Charlie, Lula Mae, and Katherine. Katherine was the last of the siblings, who all preceded her in death.

On April 1, 2008 at 4 a.m. in Grady Memorial Hospital, Katherine slipped quietly into a peaceful rest with her family around her. She left behind many friends and loved ones.

Katherine was known to be a warm, caring person who was kind and giving. People loved to be in her presence because she brought joy to those around her. She had a smile to brighten your day, and was known for her listening skills more so than for giving advice. If you had a problem, she had time to listen and you always left feeling better. Katherine was a loving person and Chickasha loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory loving and devoted children, Charlie Mae Fisher (Bernard), Billie Jean Rayes (Toney), Willie Lee Proctor (Rae Etta), Thurman Lawrence Hayden, Linda Marie Peeples and Deborah Louise Burdex. Katherine was blessed with 23 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, two favorite nieces, Olivia Richardson and Mary Louise Williams and a host of great nieces, nephews, family and friends.

JEANA PARKER LYNN

Memorial Services for Jeana Parker Lynn, 67, formerly of Chickasha, were at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha.

Jeana Lynn was born on December 1, 1940 in Hobert, Oklahoma, the daughter of Weldon and Fannie Parker. She passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, in Texas.

Jeana was raised in Bethany, Oklahoma. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1958.

She led a very full and active life. One of her favorite passions was quilting, which she shared with family and friends. Her true love was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Jeana was preceded in death by her father, Weldon Parker; adoptive father, Neal Mitchell; brother, Carl Mitchell; sister, Barbara Matheson; and a nephew, Tony Matheson.

Survivors include daughter, Kerrie Kelley, of Plano, TX; daughter and son-in-law: Kris and Paul Miller, of Flower Mound, TX; son and daughter-in-law: Korey and Marianne Lynn, of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Shaun, McKaley, Griffin and a future granddaughter; mother, Fannie Mitchell, of Waldron, AR; sister, Nita and Kenneth Bynum, of Waldron, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Jeana's memory to the Livestrong Foundation at www.livestrong.org.

Services were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Edward Wegener

Services were held at the Minco First Baptist Church on Thursday, April 3, 2008 for Edward “Clenard” Wegener, 89, formerly of Minco, with James Ross officiating. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Wegener was born July 17, 1918 in Greenfield, Okla. to Edward Christian and Rose (Barney) Wegener. He died on Monday, March 31, 2008 in Oklahoma City.

He lived in the Minco community since 1924 and graduated from Minco High School. He was a member of the Tuttle Christian Church and was a past Deacon. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea and was a retired Major. He was in the 45th infantry.

Wegener was a turkey and hog farmer and was President of Wegener Turkey, Inc. He served on the board of Norbest Turkey Co-op and was active in the National Turkey Federation. He served on the board of the Wegener Foundation and he served on the Minco City Council in years past. He was also a member of Kiwanis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, former wife Virginia on Jan. 21, 2003; and twin brothers, Kenneth and Willis Wegener.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, E. C. and Ann Wegener of Minco; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Vernon Dickerson of Yukon and Shelley and Michael Quiring of Edmond; brother Raymond Lee and Peggy Wegener of Minco; two sisters, Edna Jean and Laneer Ham of Tulsa and Rosemary Fields of Tulsa; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Wegener of Tulsa and Loretta and Joe Bush of Oklahoma City, formerly Mrs. Willis Wegener; brother-in-law Bill Justice of Dallas; four grandchildren, Laura and Greg Tontz of Norman, and Chris and April Wegener of Broken Arrow; Blair Quiring of Stillwater; Tanner Quiring of Norman; five great grandchildren, Ellis, Jeremiah and Scarlett Tontz of Norman, and Cade and Raigen Wegener of Broken Arrow; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen Beckmann

Karen Ann (Earlywine) Beckmann was born January 25, 1949 in Hiwatha, Kansas and died April 2, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Karen grew up and was educated in Kansas. She moved to Tuttle, Oklahoma in February of 1976. She and Royce Beckmann were married January 1, 1972 in Horton, Kansas.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lewis Earleywine.

Survivors include her husband Royce Beckmann of the home; two daughters, Tamela Cotton of Edmond and April Elliott of Mustang; a son, Gary Beckmann of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Lofton Cotton, Quinton Cotton and Shelby Elliott; and her mother-in-law Clara Beckmann of Kensington, Kansas.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.

John Campbell

Services for John W. Campbell, 65, of Minco, were held Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Assembly of God in Minco with Rev. Larry Harris of the Tuttle Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Campbell was born Sept. 23, 1942 in Oden, Ark. to Kermit and Gladys (Fountain) Campbell. He died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in Chickasha.

Campbell moved to Minco from Union City, and lived in the community for five years. He worked as a flight inspection specialist for FAA and Tinker AFB and retired after 35 years of service. He married Brenda Barham on April 18, 2000 in Gainsville, Texas. He was a member of the Shriners and was a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Gladys Campbell.

Campbell is survived by his wife Brenda of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Kathy Campbell of Mustang and Scott and Krista Campbell of Oklahoma City; one stepson, Robert Criss of Korea; one stepdaughter, Lacey and Kristopher Bracken of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, R. L. Campbell of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two sisters, Shirley and Bill Spencer of Hot Springs, Ark., and Alta Mullinax also of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Christina, Brittany and Breanna; four stepgrandchildren, Logan, Brendan, Layla and Gavyn; and four great grandchildren, Tyler, Jaden, Sydney and Kelsey.Funeral services for Karen Ann (Earleywine) Beckmann, 59, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Tuttle Christian Church.

MILDRED LUCILLE STOWE

Mildred Lucille Stowe was born April 26, 1912 in Faxon, Oklahoma, to Thomas and Catherine (Gordon) Long. Mildred went to be to be with the Lord on April 21, 2008, just days prior to her 96th birthday.

In 1943, Mildred enlisted in the U.S. Army Women’s Auxiliary. After this she worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Winslow, Arizona and Tuttle. She was a clerk and ace soda fountain operator at the Tuttle Star Pharmacy during the ownership of the Gannaway family and then the Arganbright family.

Mildred was a long time member of the Tuttle Church of Christ. She loved going to church and was a faithful, involved member. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, attended Ladies’ Bible Class, and was very active in all church activities as well as assisting her husband, J.C., with custodial work at the church building.

She was a member of the Rooker-Wallace Chapter of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society and Margenell’s Eat Dessert First Dine-Out Club.

In 1998, she moved to Tulsa…reluctantly. Fortunately, Margenell’s Eat Dessert First Dine-Out Club was established shortly after this move.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Stowe; her parents; brothers Owen and Gordon; sisters Alna, Jessie, Ina and Callie; in-laws Claude Haywood, Bill Dodge, Don Jones, Raymond and Lois Stowe, Ernest and Thelma Watson, Gladys Stowe, David and Helen Stowe, Lester and Dorothy Stowe.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Stowe; sisters Ruth Haywood and Polly Dodge; brother in law Bob Christie; nephews Tom Haywood, Randy Stowe, Don Stowe and Bobbie Christie; nieces Claudette Reed, Davalene Stubbs, Cindy Pekrul, Alice Loaiza, Cynthia Canfield, Catherine Dodge, Colleen Jones, Donna Jones and Susan Christie as well as many wonderful great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

ROBERT DANIEL HOWARD

A Memorial service for Dan Howard, age 90, of Chickasha, will be held at 4:30 pm. May 1, 2008 at Bible Baptist Church. The service is to celebrate the past 21 years of Dan's life.

Dan Howard was born March 14,1918 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 26, 2008 in Chickasha. He was reared in the Cofelt, Ninnekah, Hawkins, and Alex communities; graduating from Alex High School in 1937. He traveled to several states seeking employment after graduation finally landing in California working as a welder on the All-American Canal. He was drafted into the Army in 1940 and was medically discharged in early 1941. Dan went to work for KELCO Corporation in San Diego, Ca. in 1941 and remained there until his retirement in 1983. He was very proud of his 42 years of service at KELCO.

Dan married Virginia Smith on December 5,1986 in Chickasha. Dan and Virginia met in High School and had been friends for over fifty years when they were united in marriage. During their twenty years together they gardened and traveled extensively. They were wonderful life companions. Virginia preceded him in death on December 30, 2006. He was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Tyier Lane Johnson on April 12, 2006.

Survivors include three step-sons: Dan and Valetta Smith of Lebanon, OR.; Jimmy Wayne and Kathy Smith of Las Vegas, NV.; John and Gina Smith of Chickasha, OK.; Grandchildren: Billy Smith of Olympia. WA.; Kristy Smith of Oklahoma City, OK.; Tonya Smith and Jimmy Smith Jr. of Las Vegas, NV.; Holly Parrish and husband Clay, Abbey Smith and husband Daniel, Braden Cochran, all of Chickasha; four great-grandchildren and special friends and neighbors. Jack and Jane Jones of Chickasha.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

SHAYNE EDWARD YOUNG

Shayne Edward Young was born on March 31, 1962 to Bob Edward and Melrose (Anderson) Young in Chickasha, OK. He passed away on April 25, 2008 in Geary, OK at the age of 46. Shayne graduated from Chickasha High School in 1980. He was united in marriage to Lisa Wheeler in February of 1986. They lived in many states and established their home in Wyoming. Shayne was nearest to God and most at peace in the mountains of Wyoming. Shayne carried on the Young family trade of the tile setting industry. He and his family moved to Oklahoma where he enjoyed his daily activities of cattle ranching. He endured many challenges in his life, including leukemia and neuropathy. We would like Shayne to be remembered as a loving father, husband, son, brother, and friend to many.

Survivors Include: his wife Lisa and, two children, Shayla and Hayden of Hinton, OK; his mother Melrose Young and step-father Nate Young of Geary, OK; brother, Zane Edward Young and step-brother Dewayne Edward Young, step-sister, Cheryl Kidd, uncle, David Young and wife Dorothy, aunt, Inell Gander and husband Gene, a dear cousin Barry Young, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward (Bob) Young, brother, Wayne Edward Young, grandparents Emmett and Ruth Young, grandmother Zita Wilson, Uncle Lucky Young, and Uncle Don Young

Memorial services were held at the United Methodist Church, Tuesday, 10:00 am, April 29, 2008, Geary, OK. Kevin Akins and Rev. Karen Slater officiated.

Services were under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Geary, OK.

Carrie Naomi Book

Funeral services for Carrie Naomi Book, 90-year-old Thomas resident, were held Saturday, April 26 in the First Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Harlan officiating. Burial followed in the Mound Valley Cemetery of Thomas under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas.

Naomi was born to Oliver and Della (Herron) Lancet on Feb. 23, 1918 in Thomas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she went to be with her Lord on April 21, 2008 in Tuttle.

Naomi lived the majority of her life in the Thomas area, attending Thomas Public Schools for 12 years, graduating as salutatorian of her class on May 15, 1936. She was a member of the EUB Church, later merging into the United Methodist Church. She was a loyal and faithful worker, and was so happy when new individuals or families joined the church. On Nov. 10, 1936. Naomi was united in marriage to Glen L. Book. To this union, two sons were born, Maynard E. and Darryl E. Book.

Naomi was employed in her early years in the school cafeteria. Later, she worked at the Thomas Drug where she became acquainted with many people locally and in the surrounding communities. Naomi always enjoyed talking and joking with the school kids, trying to keep them on the right path. She also attended Southwestern University, taking courses to increase her knowledge of the Bible.

She is survived by two sons, Maynard Book and his wife Janie of Tuttle and Darryl Book of Towanda, Kan.; six grandchildren, Scott Book and his wife Kim of Tuttle; Terry Book of Newalla; Dustin Book and his wife Jennifer of Tuttle; Shawn Book and his wife Trudy of Okmulgee; Darren Book and his wife Kristen of El Dorado, Kan.; Renee Tingley and her husband Dave of Andover, Kan.; 14 great grandchildren; one brother Harold Lancet; two sisters-in-law, Alma Crider of Hershey, Pa., and LaNelle Lancet of Seagraves, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Naomi was loved and admired by countless friends and relatives. She enjoyed china painting, oil and acrylic painting, quilting, gardening, her morning coffee by her goldfish pond and she loved church activities. She was a “Special Lady” and will be truly missed. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Della Lancet; her husband Glen Book; three brothers, Jesse, Glen and O.V. Lancet; and one sister, Alma Hindman.

Betty Lois Morrissey

Funeral service for Betty Lois Morrissey, 63, of Anna, Texas, were held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Sowers Memorial Chapel.

Betty Lois Morrissey was born April 7, 1945 in Tuttle, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ulis Ray and Lois Lonita (Davison) Singletary and died April 23, 2008 in McKinney, Texas.

Betty was raised in Tuttle. She was baptized at the First Baptized Church in Tuttle June 5, 1960. She graduated from Tuttle High School in 1963.

She and John Morrissey were married December 31, 1962 in Oklahoma City. She had lived in Texas for the past two years. She was a past member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, M.G. and Rosie Singletary.

Survivors include her husband John Morrissey of the home in Anna, Texas; two sons: Jeffrey ‘Scott’ Morrissey and wife, Ricki, of Weston, Texas and their children, Jeffrey and Micki; Steven Lee Morrissey and wife, Lisa, of Cypress Springs, Texas and their children, Hanna and Jonathan; parents Ray and Lois Singletary of Tuttle; two brothers. Bill Singletary and wife, Carol, of Cole, and their children, Chris and Kyle Gary Singletary of Tuttle; and his child, Brooke; and an uncle, Leon Davison of Tuttle.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Neoma Josephine Wilson

Funeral services for Neoma Josephine Wilson, 83, of Hinton, Oklahoma were held on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Scott Baptist Church in Hinton.

Neoma Josephine Wilson was born February 21, 1925 in Nelson, Oklahoma the daughter of Lonnie Albert and Carrie Flora (Ketchum) Tucker and died April 23, 2008 in El Reno.

Neoma graduated from Old Classen High School in Oklahoma City. She and Buddy Wilson were married May 9, 1942 in Kinta, Oklahoma. She worked for the U.S. Post Office in Oklahoma City, retiring after about 20 years of service. Neoma moved to Tuttle from Oklahoma City in 1974. She attended South Oklahoma City Junior College, receiving a degree in accounting in 1979 and an Associate’s Degree in Business Real Estate Technology in 1980. She owned and operated Wilson Tax Service in Tuttle for over 30 years. Neoma was an adventurous woman who loved the outdoors, enjoyed music and loved to travel.

Neoma was a member of the Scott Baptist Church of Hinton. Every day she celebrated her life in Christ. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

She was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Wilson February, 1994; a sister, Freda Tucker; two grandchildren Christina Pinkston and Tracey Cox; two sons-in-law, Phil Pinkston and Coy Schones; and sisters-in-law: Arlene Tucker and Juanita Tucker.

Survivors include three sons, Don Wilson and wife, Kandi, of Hinton; Tom Wilson and wife, Andrea, of Tuttle, and Keith Wilson of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Teresa Pinkston of Vici, Linda Schones of Yukon; two brothers, Earl Tucker of Blanchard and Albert ‘Sonny’ Tucker of Tuttle; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
