Dallas Ulman Davis

Graveside services for Dallas Ulman Davis, 84, of Minco were held on Tuesday, June 17 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco.

Davis was born Jan. 19, 1924 in Minco to Ulman Seaborn and Ruby Alice (Stevens) Davis.

He died on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his home in Minco.

Davis was raised in Minco and was a graduate of Minco High School.

He farmed for many years and was also a contractor and carpenter who owned and operated a package liquor store in Minco.

He was a retired volunteer firefighter and a member of the carpenter’s union.

He married Eudena “Charlene” Morrisey on Oct. 3, 1955 in a ceremony in Minco.

Davis was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Vera Irene Brackin, Retha Bates and Alice Jean Drew and a brother, Joe Davis.

He is survived by his wife Charlene of the home in Minco; a son Gary Davis of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; two daughters, Vicki and Charles Glover of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Tana and Gary Wax of Midwest City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, J. B. and Minnie Davis of Minco and Steve and Mary Lee Davis of Conroe, Texas; one sister, Ruby Ann Charlton of Eureka, Kan., four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Charles Otto Fink

Charles Otto Fink was born in Foss, Oklahoma on Dec. 14, 1933.

He died June 14, 2008.

He graduated from N.E. High School where he met his long time companion.

After graduation he received his marching orders from Uncle Sam where he trained at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas and then served for the next 18 months in Germany.

Upon his return from the service he married his bride days later at Ridgecrest Baptist Church on September 9, 1955.

Charles retired from Candid Color Systems/Glamour Shots in 1998 where he enjoyed his hobby of photography and flying the company plane.

He also enjoyed bowling, boating and flying his family in their private plane on many occasions.

Fink was preceded in death by his parents William Otto and Gladys Burden Fink; a brother Darrel Fink and half brother Bryce.

Fink is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Osborne of 52 years and three sons; Steven Lee Fink, Anthony DeWayne Fink, and Gary Lynn Fink, and grandson Brandon Lee Fink; sisters, Mitilda Moudy of Del City, Eva Lois Strealy of Edmond; brothers William Harold Fink of Phelan Calif. and Jerry Fink of Oklahoma City; in-laws George and Sharon Osborne of Edmond; Terry and Ina Su Osborne of Edmond; Danny and Susan Osborne of Edmond and many nieces and nephews.

Charles was a wonderful and loving husband and father.

He will be missed and loved by all.

We are sure our “Heavenly Father” will be there for Charles with open arms.

Funeral services were held at Snow Hill Baptist Church, Tuttle, Oklahoma, Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Charles was laid to rest at Chapel Hill Cemetery, in Oklahoma City.

Ernestine Costas

Ernestine Costas, 89, of Tuttle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2008 in Tuttle.

She was born on October 15, 1918 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was the middle child of seven daughters born to J. L. and Mary Lou McClure.

Ernestine grew up in Shawnee where she graduated from high school in 1936.

She later married George C. Costas and together they raised two children Kathy and Charles.

Ernestine, known as Mama to her family, accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a young age.

She walked through life reflecting her love of God, her country and her family.

She loved her sisters and their families dearly.

She loved and took care of her children and grandchildren every day of her life.

Mama’s legacy is her beautiful homemade quilts and pillows which won her many ribbons for over 20 years at the Oklahoma State Fair.

Her “Hearts and Flowers” quilt was honored by representing the State of Oklahoma on the cover of the best selling book, First Prize Quilts by Dimetra Makris.

Mama’s quilts were also featured in many newspaper articles, quilt magazines and displayed at quilt shows throughout Oklahoma.

Mama and Grandma, we will miss your loving touch every day of our lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband George C. Costas in 1986; a baby sister, Elva Louise; a sister, Margye Anderson; three other sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Charles McColgan, Inalee and Holden Herrin and Jewel and Dude Osborne and brother-in-law, Floyd Paulk.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Ward and husband Dale of Tuttle; her son, Charles Costas of Tuttle; grandchildren, Travice and Shari Ward of Tuttle and Scott and Lori Ward of Tuttle; great grandchildren, Zac, Britni, James, Hope, Paige and Thomas; a sister Betty Paulk of Oklahoma City; and many very special nieces and nephews who called her “Aunt Ernie.”

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.

Officiating was Rev. Alvin Garrison.

Charlie C. Sossamon
12/19/1942 - 7/29/2007

Charlie C. Sossamon, age 64 died Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Yukon, OK.

He was born December 19, 1942 in Arkadelphia, AR to Millard C. and Vera C. (Adcock) Sossamon.

He was a high school graduate from Arkadelphia H.S.

Charlie worked for Coca-Cola and Lay’s Potato as a route driver, before working as a heavy equipment mechanic for over 20 years at Rush Trucking.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and lived in Yukon, OK since 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents, survivors include his daughter Karon Hasbell and husband Ronnie of Yukon, OK, two grandchildren Cody and Ashton, his ex-wife and the mother of his daughter, Jeney Sossamon of Yukon, also by three sisters Shirley Hester of Lone Oke, AR, Betty Harris and husband Raymond of Malvern, AR, and Diane Canada and husband Charles of Benton, AR.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, August 2, 2007 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Maxine Pamplin
08/28/1928 - 7/30/2007

Maxine Pamplin, age 78, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at a Yukon hospital after a period of declining health.

She was born August 28, 1928 at Vamoosa, OK to Edward F. and Rachel N. (Baker) Sharber and grew up in the Vamoosa community.

She attended Vamoosa Schools and was married to Jim Pamplin on May 10, 1945 at Konawa, OK.

They moved to Ada in 1947 and lived there until March of 2000 when they moved to Mustang.

While in Ada she was a very active member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was currently a member of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Billy Don, Jack and Joe Edd, two sisters Mildred and Moseline.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jim of the home, two sons Vaughn Pamplin and wife Nancy of Tuttle and Jim D. Pamplin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Also by three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters Linda Gregg of St. Louis, OK and Donna Stanley and husband Pete of Pharr, TX.

Services will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 2, 2007 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment to follow at 3pm in the Vamoosa Cemetery, Vamoosa, Oklahoma.

Bert Melvin Wiesser
05/07/1912 - 7/30/2007

Bert Melvin Weisser, age 95, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at an Oklahoma City health care facility, after a short period of declining health.

He was born May 7, 1912 on the family farm, four miles North and four miles East of Mt. View, OK.

He grew up on the family farm and attended Silver Moon School, was a graduate of Carnegie High School and attended the University of Oklahoma.

After college he farmed and also taught aircraft sheet metal and worked in the aircraft industry before returing to farming full time in 1957.

He moved to Mustang in December 2004 and was a member of Mt. View Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grand daughter Lindsey Brea. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Doris of the home, four sons Steven Lock of Australia, David Weisser of Mission, SD, Gary Weisser and wife Sandra of Mustang, Paul Weisser and wife Rhonda of OKC, four daughters Jeanette Coker of Norman, Kathy Wynn and husband B.J. of Fountain Valley, CA, Janice Benton of Santa Anna, CA and Linda Hilburn and husband Kelly of OKC.

Also by sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and, one great, great grandchild and one brother George A. Weisser of Mt. View, OK.

Services will be held at 10am on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Mt. View Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mt. View, OK with interment following in Mt. View Cemetery, Mt. View, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Frank Ernest Brewer, Jr.
5/3/1919 - 8/3/2007

Brewer, Rev. Frank E. Jr, age 88, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, August 3, 2007 after a period of declining health.

He was born May 3, 1919 in Protection, KA to Frank E. & Bessie (Fleeman) Brewer, Sr. and grew up in Western Kansas and Colorado.

He was a 1938 graduate of Hotchkiss High School in Hotchkiss, CO where he was active in football, glee club & FFA.

He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII.

After military service he attended Bible Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX & became an ordained minister.

He pastored in Vicksburg, MS for one year.

He then worked for Convair Aircraft in Ft. Worth, TX, after which he moved his family to OKC where he retired from Bendix Westinghouse in 1981 to care for his aging parents.

He had an active nursing home ministry from Shields Blvd. Baptist Church & moved in with his daughter & son-in-law in Mustang in 2004.

His church membership was at Rancho Village Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Myrl, one brother Richard & two sons-in-law, Gary Kinder & Alan Miller.

Survivors include three daughters Elizabeth Shade & husband Paul of Mustang, Elaine Grant & husband Robert of OKC & Linda Miller of Moore.

Also by five grand children & eleven great grand children.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mustang Senior Center in care of the funeral home.

Services will be held on 10 am Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Rancho Village Baptist Church in OKC with interment following in the Hydro Cemetery, Hydro, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.

Travis Edward Dillard
03/24/1982 - 8/8/2007

Travis Edward Dillard, age 25, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from injuries sustained on July 7 in a fireworks accident at Piedmont, OK.

He was born March 24, 1982 in Oklahoma City to Jay and Louann (Brann) Dillard and grew up in Mustang and Piedmont.

He was a 2000 graduate of Piedmont High School and was very active in the drum line for the Pride of Piedmont Marching Band.

He attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band.

He played keyboard, rhythm guitar and served as backup vocalist for “Inner Core”, a Christian rock band.

At the time of the accident he was working for Jett Construction as a carpenter.

Travis was a member of The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang, where he had been musically active in Crossfire and Powerhouse ministries.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Merissa, as an infant and Shannon Wilson, just two weeks ago.

Also by his grandfather Archie Brann.

Survivors include his parents Jay and Louann Dillard, one brother Colin all of Piedmont, brother in law and niece David and Destiny Wilson of Yukon, grandparents Jenneva Dillard of Mustang, Bill Dillard, Sr. and wife Maj. Della Dillard of Midwest City and Dorotha Brann of Yantis, TX by many aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of supportive and loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may made to the “Benefit for Destiny Wilson” fund at any First Fidelity bank or in care of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at The Bridge Assembly of God Church in Mustang, OK with interment following in the Mustang Cemetery, under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Stewart Keith Snow
8/25/1940 - 8/15/2007

Stewart Keith Snow 66 died August 15, 2007.

He was born August 25, 1940 in Oklahoma City to Ines (Higdon) and Burl Levi Snow.

Keith grew up in Wheatland, Oklahoma and attended the Wheatland and Mustang Schools.

He worked in commercial construction most of his life, supervising many major projects in Oklahoma and other states.

Keith was a Methodist, 32nd Degree Mason and an active Shriner for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Andy Snow and sister Carolyn Martin.

Keith is survived by his son Randy Snow and wife Sharon of Bethany, son Chris Snow and wife Jeannie of Minco, grandsons Sage Snow and Zak Chilton, granddaughters McKenzie and Riley Chilton, brother Gerald Snow of Edmond, sisters Elnora Welch of Bethany and Nancy James of Tulsa and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice and the staff at the Grace Living Center in Bethany for the wonderful care Keith received.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Dr. Alan Greer.

Memorial services will be held at 10am Monday, August 20, 2007 in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
