Irving James "Jim" Diamond
04/09/1920 - 8/21/2007

Irving James “Jim” Diamond, age 87, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007. He was born April 9, 1920 in Syracuse, NY to Jake and May (Commings) Diamond. He entered the Army Air Corps at age 17 and made a lifetime career of the military, retiring from the Air Force after twenty years. During WWII, he survived the Bataan Death March and nearly four years as a POW in Mainland Japan. He married his wife Ethel in 1946 and raised six children. He was also a civil servant at Tinker and Altus Air Force Bases until retirement. He moved to Mustang in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ethel, and one brother Melvin. He is survived by three sons Robert Diamond and wife Janice of Prosper, TX, Kenneth Diamond and wife Sue of McLoud, OK and John Diamond and wife Linda of McKinney, TX. Also by three daughters Julia Dee and husband Alex of Mustang, OK, Patricia Tracy of Eufaula, OK and Karen Thomas of Seminole, OK. Survivors also include fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10am on Friday, August 24, 2007 in The Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with 2pm interment with Military Honors at Little Cemetery, Little, OK. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of Oklahoma, 3701 SE 15th, Okla. City, OK 73115

Robert L. "Bob" Crout
10/12/1928 - 8/21/2007

Robert L. “Bob” Crout, age 78, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Bob died at his home in Watonga, with his loving family at his side, after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 12, 1928 in Denison,TX to Robert L. and Myrtie (Hestand) Crout and grew up in Denison and was a graduate of Denison High School. Bob and Wanda, his loving wife of 60 years, moved to Watonga in 1952 where they started and operated Watonga Sheet Metal until their retirement in 1985. Bob could fabricate almost anything out of sheet metal and was an early pioneer in bringing central air conditioning to the Watonga area. An avid golfer, Bob was actively involved in establishing Roman Nose Golf Course and the Watonga Municipal Golf Course, where he taught and encouraged many new golfers. He never missed watching Oklahoma Sooner football games and loved to follow the Watonga Eagles. He so enjoyed the many adventures shared with his family as they traveled about the world. Bob was a member of the Watonga City Council when the new Watonga Municipal Hospital was built. He worked to create the public trust that financed Sequoyah Mills (Hollytex) manufacturing plant. He also served as board member and chairman of the hospital board, as well as a member of the planning and zoning commission. As a member of Watonga First Baptist Church, in his younger years Bob enjoyed teaching RA’s and was an adult Sunday School teacher. Survivors include his wife Wanda of the home, one son Robert L. Crout, III and wife Kathy of Mustang, one daughter Deborah Costigan and husband Ron of Moore, four grandchildren Michael Costigan, Jennifer Coover, Lawson and Connor Crout. Three great grandchildren Ryan and Haley Coover and Natalie Costigan and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Lee, Albert, Charlie, James Ray and one sister Allie B. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Watonga or the The Foundation Board at Watonga Municipal Hospital. Donations may be made through McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, PO Box 1616, Mustang, OK 73064. Public viewing will be held from 10am to 12 noon on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Watonga, with funeral services to follow at 2pm at the church. Interment will follow in Watonga IOOF Cemetery, under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Bobby Joe Gordon
1/5/1929 - 8/24/2007

Bobby Joe Gordon, age 78, died Friday, August 24, 2007 at his home in Mustang. He was born January 5, 1929 at Blanchard, OK to Clarence C. and Nora M. (Harmon) Gordon. He grew up in Oklahoma City and was a graduate of Central High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and worked thirty eight years at McKesson-Robbins Wholesale Drug Co., retiring in 1984 as warehouse superintendent. Bob and Doris moved to Mustang forty years ago this month. He was active in music at Mustang Senior Center and was a member of The Bridge Assembly of God. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and an infant daughter. Survivors include his wife of forty years, Doris of the home, two daughters Brenda Sue Klusmeyer and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, Renee’ Teasley and husband Paul of Mustang, three grandchildren Nikki, Carissa, Caleb and two great grandchildren Nancy and Chris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mustang Senior Center in care of the funeral home. Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, August 27, 2007 at The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang with interment with Military Honors following in Mustang Cemetery, under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Johnnie Alexander Higgins
9/8/1976 - 8/26/2007

Johnnie Alexander Higgins, II, age 30, died Sunday August 26, 2007 as results of an auto accident East of Mustang. He was born September 8, 1976 in Oklahoma City to Johnnie and Linda (Arnold) Higgins and grew up in Mustang. He was a 1995 graduate of Mustang High School. After graduation Johnnie attended OSU. He worked for some time as a dental assistant for the Cavity Cottage and later worked as a welder. He attended The Bridge Assembly of God Church in Mustang. Preceded in death by grandparents, he is survived by his wife Anjanette, one son Lance, two daughters Paige and Ashlynn all of the home and parents Johnnie and Linda Higgins of Mustang. Also by one brother Rev. Gary Higgins and wife Chele of OKC, six sisters Betsy Ray and husband Curtiss of Yukon, Rhonda Rodericks and husband Mike of Wellston, Cathy Couts of Newalla, Koni Spears and husband Travis of OKC, Keri May and husband Larry of Norman, Carrie Wright and husband Larry of Mustang, in laws Dennis and Jennifer Jamison of Mustang, sister and brother in law Suzanne and Kevin Moore of Stillwater and grandparents Billy and Joan Jones of Crescent. Services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang, with interment following in Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma. A fund has been established at FAA Credit Union for the children of Johnnie A. Higgins, Jr. P.O. Box 26406 Okla. City, OK 73126.

Robert Lee Jung

Robert Lee “Bob” Jung, age 78, died Monday, August 27, 2007 at his home in Mustang. He was born April 9, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to Edward T. and Katie Belle (Leopard) Jung. He grew up in Oklahoma City and moved to Rocky Ford, CO as a teenager and graduated from Rocky Ford High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Bob worked over 34 years for the US Government, both at Tinker AFB and later at FAA, retiring in 1984 as an electronic technician. He had been a resident of Mustang since 1962 and was a member of First Church of The Nazarene in Yukon. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn of the home, one daughter Beverly Jung of Mustang, two sons Ronald Jung and wife Tina of Mustang, Donald Jung and wife Nancy of Allen, TX, six grandchildren Sgt. Timothy Kline and wife Dana, Alyssa Jung, Robert Jung, Aaron Blake Jung, Anna Kathryn Jung and Lawton Jung. Also by step mother Marge Jung of Rocky Ford, CO, four brothers Ted Jung and wife Sue of Denver, CO, Jerre Jung of Denver, CO, Jimmy Jung and wife Claire of Hawaii and Sam Jung of Hawaii. Donations in Bob’s name may be made to the First Church of The Nazarene of Yukon. Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the First Church of The Nazarene of Yukon with interment with Military Honors following at Resthaven Memory Gardens, OKC under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Betty Jo Robinson

Betty Jo Robinson, age 81, of Piedmont, died Friday, August 31, 2007 after a sudden illness. She was born April 26, 1926 in Freonia, TX to David M. and Lela A. (Brown) Denham and grew up in Mt. Park, OK. She attended Consolidated #8 School at Roosevelt, OK. She moved to Mustang in 1954 and worked over 26 years at Altec-Lansing, retiring in 1995. She moved to Piedmont in 1993 to be near some of her children who lived there. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Piedmont. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, one brother J.W. and two sisters LaVerne and Weona. Survivors include two sons Jack Robinson and wife Diane of Piedmont, Donnie Robinson and wife Janis of Piedmont, three daughters Alma Dorrell and husband Terry of Apache, OK, Linda Winn and husband Blake of Piedmont and Shirley Swinford and husband Bill of Piedmont. Also by 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, one brother David Denham and wife Fern of Bull Shoals, AR, two sisters Lorena Dempsey of Mt. Park, OK, Clara Mitchell of Mustang and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Piedmont, with interment following in the Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service.

Bernard Harold Boyd
12/22/1940 - 9/1/2007

Bernard Harold Boyd age 66, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 in Yukon, OK. He was born December 22, 1940, in Texarkana, TX, to Ivan and Don Jo (Jackson) Boyd. He grew up in Lawton, OK and was a 1959 graduate of Lawton High School. Bernard enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961, worked as a Computer Systems Analysis and retired from active duty in 1982 as a Master Sergeant from Tinker AFB. Military awards and decorations included the Bronze Star. After retirement he moved to Florida, then New Mexico, before settling in Mustang, OK in November of 2002. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary. He is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home, his parents Ivan and Don Jo of Peralto, NM, two sons Mike of Yukon, OK and Larry of Norman, OK, two daughters Tami of OKC and Glynis of Norman, two brothers Larry of CA, and Ivan Jr. and wife, Rene of NM, and sister in law Millie of NM. Also by eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00am in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang Oklahoma, with interment to follow at 2:00pm at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK.

Brunehilde Alford
10/9/1937 - 9/3/2007

Brunehilde Alford, age 69, died Monday, September 03, 2007 in Mustang, OK after a sudden illness. She was born October 9, 1937 in Eisenaback, East Germany to Peter and Eda Moser and grew up in Germany. She came to the US in 1962 settling first in Boise, ID and coming to Mustang, OK in 1965. She was a housewife and of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband David. Survivors include three sons Mark Alford of OKC, David Alford of Yukon, Tommy Alford and wife Regina of OKC, four daughters Darlene Roles and husband Ron of Mustang, Penny Darch and husband Doug of Ft. Worth, TX, Delores Howard and husband Jack of Wilson, OK and Tonya Daniels and husband Steve of Orangevale, CA. Also by two brothers Hansa Moser and Ernst Moser both of Germany and sister Karolla Montgomery of Pennsylvania, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Private family memorial services will be held at 9am Thursday, September 6, 2007 in The Memorial Pavilion at Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Leval N. Knowles
6/6/1933 - 9/14/2007

Leval N. Knowles, age 74, went home to be with Jesus Friday, September 14, 2007 at his home in Mustang after a short period of declining health. He was born June 6, 1933 in Marshall, AR to Joseph and Flora (Cotton) Knowles and grew up in Harrison, AR. He lived a short while in Wichita, KS before moving to Bethany in 1953 and to Mustang in 1976. He owned and operated his own dental lab, Mustang Precision Dental Lab for many years until the time of his death. He was longtime member of the 1st Church of The Nazarene in Mustang. Leval was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Lynn and Charles. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Frankie of the home, one son John of Taos, NM, two daughters Karen Limke and husband Larry, Kim Rhodes and husband Dan all of Mustang. Also by seven grandchildren, Amy & husband Bobby, Andy & wife Alicia, Jason & wife Lara, Michael & husband, Jamie, Destiny, Chandler & Gabrielle, eight great grandchildren Marina, Miles, Marlee, Maci, Wyatt, Colby, Rachel and Kristen & “one on the way”, one brother Bill Knowles and wife Bonnie of Purcell, one sister Esther Holland and husband Wilbur of Highfill, AR, and sisters in law Mabel Dameron and Louise Knowles. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 1st Church of The Nazarene in Mustang. Services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 1st Church of The Nazarene in Mustang with interment following in Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Alta P. Deaville, age 91, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 in Nacogdoches, TX. She was born October 24, 1915 in Noble, OK to William D. and Laura E. Melugin. She was a longtime OKC resident and a 60 year plus member of Crown Heights Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, four brothers Tom, Herbert, Everett, Melvin, four sisters Mattie, Donnie, Etta and Elva. Survivors include one daughter Carol Wagoner and husband Tom of Nacogdoches, TX, one son William D. Deaville and wife Rhonda of Mesa, AZ, three grandchildren Scott Wagoner and wife Stephanie of Nacogdoches, TX, Cindi Darbe and husband Bill of Texarkana, TX, Laura Deaville of Mesa, AZ and two great grandchildren Matthew Thomas Wagoner and Katie Elizabeth Wagoner both of Nacogdoches, TX. Graveside services will be held at 10am on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

Sue Andrews
6/4/1932 - 9/19/2007

Sue Andrews, age 75, of Mustang, died Wednesday September 19, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born June 4, 1932 in Douthit, OK to Frank and Florence (Clanin) Bagby and grew up in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Mustang in 1984 where she and her husband Andy (Warren) owned and operated Accent On Video for twenty years. She loved to bowl, play bridge and was a fantastic cook. She loved children and animals. Her grandchildren were the “light of her life”. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Pat and Billy and two sisters Margie and Betty. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Andy (Warren), of the home, one son Paul and wife Debra of Barnhart, MO, three daughters Linda Warner and husband Phil, Debbie Behrens and husband Tom and Dayle Andrews all of Mustang. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday September 22, 2007 in The Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment following at Mustang Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Army Emergency Relief Fund in care of the funeral home.

Evelyn L. Jack
8/12/1935 - 9/23/2007

Evelyn L. Jack, age 72, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at her home in Mustang after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 12, 1935 to Mason Earl and Jesse Belle (Snodgrass) Webb. She was a private duty nurse for over twenty years, loved gardening, garage sales and was a member of Mustang Christian Church. She also loved her little dog and companion “Fancy” very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Jack, two sons Michael and Mitchell Moore, one grandson Jeremy Reynolds and one sister Pat Avers-Roundy. Survivors include two sons Jeff Reynolds and wife Belinda of Mustang, Scott Reynolds of Guthrie, two daughter in laws, Kandi Moore of Oklahoma City and Kathy Moore of Edmond, ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also by one sister Earlene Foosaner, two brothers Glen Webb and Jerry Gwaltney and families all of California, sister in law Jenneane Jack of Oklahoma City and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either Crossroads Hospice @ PO Box 95245, OKC, 73143 or Baptist Childrens Home @ of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in the Pavilion at Moore City Cemetery, Moore, OK under the direction of McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.

John G. Sharp
2/3/1924 - 9/26/2007

John G. Sharp went to be with the Lord after a long illness on September 26, 2007, at the age of 83. He was born on February 3, 1924, in Mt. Holly, NJ to Clayton Stokes and Halycon (Mann) Sharp. He came to Oklahoma as a teenager and attended radio school in Tonkawa and later had a small radio business. At 18 he joined the US Army and served three years during WWII. He then went to work at FAA as an Electronic Technician and worked there 32 years before retiring in 1979. He was one of the first to join the Mustang Auxilary Police Department in the early 1960’s. He later went to work at the Canadian County Sheriffs Office where he worked as a deputy. He was proud of his service to his county and his work in law enforcement. He attended many police training schools and loved blue grass music. He attended classes to learn music, played the dobro and built several dulcimers and a banjo. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Walter, Clayton, Bill and Reeves. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann of the home, one son Mike of Mustang, three grandchildren, Lindsey Dawne Sharp, Mikayla Monet Sharp and Mason Michael Sharp. Memorials may be made to the Mustang American Legion. Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, October 1, 2007 in the Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK with interment following in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Wheatland, Oklahoma.
