SPIRO — Robert Eligah Mackey, 88, of Spiro died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Spiro. He was an evangelist and preached at all kinds of churches, and the widower of Edna Mackey.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Moffet Full Gospel Church with burial at Old Cache Cemetery in Keota, Okla., under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by two daughters, Loretta Munson of Sallisaw and Bernice Avery of Spiro; two sisters, Ruby Peterman of Panama and Irene Patillo of Maryland; two brothers, Lee and Lewis Mackey, both of Spiro; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith and Christopher Avery, Ronnie and Robert Sparks, Scott Sharp, Doug Pearson, Ronnie Mackey and E.J. Keith.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Betty Patton
LEQUIRE, Okla. — Betty Jo Patton, 81, of LeQuire died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in a local nursing home.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at LeQuire Baptist Church with burial at Sans Bois Cemetery in Kinta, Okla., under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler, Okla.
She is survived by four daughters, Clara Zaltosky of Owasso, Okla., Carolyn Martin of Oklahoma City, Evelyn Jordan of LeQuire, and Linda Fisher of Midwest City, Okla.; a son, Richard Patton of Midwest City; a sister, Helen Williams of Midwest City; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Lois Lile
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Lois C. Lile, 74, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Spiro, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in Jacksonville. She was the widow of Ralph Lile.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce Backus of Orange Park, Fla., and David Backus of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Don Coutant of Clearwater, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Frank Ramsey
SALLISAW — Frank E. Ramsey, 76, of Sallisaw died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Sallisaw. He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Knoxville, Tenn. He was a machinist at Excello Corp. in Lima, Ohio, and a Baptist. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Lima, Ohio, and the Elks Club.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ United Methodist Church in Tulsa. Cremation under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; a daughter, Nancy Hatfield of Tulsa; two sons, Gary Ramsey of Tulsa and Ronald Davis of Vasser, Kan.; five stepchildren, Cindy Meade of Michigan, Rebecca Drapeau of Wilburton, Okla., James and Matt Greenfelder, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and John Greenfelder of Virginia; a sister, Evelyn Nicely of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Cadence Saldana
SALLISAW — Cadence Nevaeh Saldana, infant daughter of Edward Saldana and Amber Hanson of Sallisaw, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in Little Rock. She was born July 7, 2004, in Little Rock and was Catholic.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Brushy Cemetery in Sallisaw.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Cathy Avila of Sallisaw; maternal grandparents, Mollie and Joe Pettit of Sallisaw and Jim and Kathleen Hanson of Fort Smith; paternal great-grandparents, Lucille and Calvin Kendall of Sallisaw; maternal great-grandparents, Watie Woodward of Sallisaw and Margaret Tarver of Sallisaw.
Pallbearers will be Robert Sparks, Carl Hindman, Evan Stewart and Chase Humphrey.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Arnold Dix
SPIRO — Arnold Ray Dix, 82, of Spiro died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was an Army infantry veteran of World War II, served in the European Theater and was wounded at the Rhine River in France.
Funeral will be 10 .m. today at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Odell; a daughter, Sue Marion of Pensacola, Fla.; three sons, Bill Dix of Pensacola, Fla., Sherman Dix of Stigler, Okla., and Joe Dix of Arkoma; a sister, Reba Yeats of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers, Roy Dix of Spiro and Edgar Dix of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dub and Ken Mathis, Bill Davis, Joe Rowan, Tom Aary and George Simmons.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Myrtle Ball
SALLISAW — Myrtle Valentine Ball, 88, of Sallisaw died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was born Feb. 14, 1916, in Rocky Point, Okla. She was a homemaker, a former nurse’s aide for home health agencies, a member of Brushy Holiness Church and the widow of Junior Ball.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Brushy Cemetery north of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley McCann of Sallisaw and Mary Beshire of Mississippi; a son, Tim Carter of Claremore, Okla.; two sisters, Violet Rankin of Sallisaw and Thelma Hoppis of Oklahoma City; a brother, Ed Russell of California; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustin and Jeremy Walters, Paul Osburn, Chris Henning, Tim Carter Jr. and Darrell Carter.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Newell Atkinson
SPIRO — Newell David “Snooks” Atkinson, 73, of Spiro died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, in Fort Smith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at Tamaha Cemetery in Stigler, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Pam Lea of Fort Smith; two sons, Don and David Atkinson, both of Spiro; two sisters, Wanda Garcia of Oklahoma City and Joyce Tolfa of Ormand Beach, Fla.; three brothers, William Atkinson of Spiro, James Atkinson of Wichita, Kan., and Amos Atkinson of Sacramento, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wright, Jim West, Jimmy Woods, Dennis Anglen, Bill Dempsey and Jimmy Treat.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Rose Sells
SALLISAW — Rose A. Sells, 93, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was a secretary at Price Chapel Baptist Church, where she was piano player and Sunday school teacher. She was the widow of Hass Sells.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery.
She is survived by five daughters, Ruth Reynolds of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, Marie Speaker and Sammy Boyd, both of Sallisaw, Ginger Cook of Tulsa, and Linda Griffin of Cleveland, Okla.; three stepchildren, Dan Sells of Marble City, Margie Barnes of Houston, and Jerry Leonard of Muskogee, Okla.; a brother, Ernest Hopper of Miami, Okla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry and Tod Pool, Rodger Reynolds, Brad Griffin, Dan Sells and Charles Garrison.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Arthur Shepard
SALLISAW — Arthur Dee Shepard, 92, of Sallisaw died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, in Sallisaw. He was born June 14, 1912, in Greencastle, Mo. He was a salesman for Public Service Co. in Colorado, a real estate salesman, a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw, a graduate of Greencastle High School, a 1935 graduate of Northeast Missouri State College in Kirksville, a former member of the American Legion and a staff sergeant in the Army serving during World War II.
Graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; two daughters, Mary Elwick of Sallisaw and Elaine Shepard of St. Louis; a sister, Mildred Swickard of Canton, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Billy Joe ‘Snow’ Fields
MARBLE CITY — Billy Joe “Snow” Fields, 70, of Marble City died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, in Marble City. He was born March 3, 1934, in Marble City.
He was a former employee of the Cherokee Nation, a retired laborer and construction worker and an Army veteran, having served in Korea. He had a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Stoke Smith Stomp Grounds northwest of Sallisaw with burial at Bush Cemetery northeast of Marble City under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Betty Jo McCoy of Sallisaw; two sons, L.S. Fields of Marble City and Billy Fields of Sallisaw; three sisters, Bonnie Kirk and Wanda Byrd, both of Marble City, and Betty Horsechief of Dallas; three brothers, Charley Fields of Heavener, Raymond Pigeon of Sallisaw and Levi Pigeon Jr. of DeQueen; and five grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today.

Leo Schildhauer
SALLISAW — Leo Albert Schildhauer, 84, of Sallisaw died Monday, March 8, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was born March 25, 1919, in Hay Springs. He was a building contractor and carpenter and was a member of First Assembly of God in Sallisaw.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God in Sallisaw with burial at 1 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Sunset Memorial Parks in Ponca City, Okla., under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; a son, Ronnie Schildhauer of Van Buren; a sister, Laura Roberts of Burwell, Neb.; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Bryce and Ken Callahan, Frank Weatherford, Herb Pierce, Raymond Lee, Dennis Sprouse and Wayne Land.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edgar Rouell
SALLISAW — Edgar J. Rouell, 79, of Sallisaw died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, in Sallisaw. He was born March 19, 1925, in Checotah, Okla. He was a retired master sergeant for the Air Force, worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of McKey Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a former member of the VFW and the Masonic Lodge, and former chairman and current vice chairman of the Sequoyah County Rural Water District No. 5.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Garden of Memories in Vian with full military honors by the Air Force Honor Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Janet Anderson of Sallisaw; two sons, Edgar Rouell of Tahlequah, Okla., and James Rouell of Sallisaw; four sisters, Faye Wallace, Jane Crapo, Leona Martin and Mary Wood; two brothers, Webb and Ray Rouell; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad and Todd Poor, Ray and Leslie Rouell, Andy Wallace and A.C. Andrews.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
