POTEAU — Jewel Ann Leach, 85, of Poteau died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Poteau. She was the retired owner/operator of a bakery. She was the widow of Leon Thomas Leach.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by a son, Jim of Poteau; two granddaughters, Kellie Lynn Hardy and Kim Moriarty; one stepgranddaughter, Kimberly Ann Kaul; and two stepgreat-granddaughters, Courtney Kaul and Morgan Harmon.

Evelyn Bell
POTEAU — Evelyn Virginia Bell, 83, of Poteau died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Fort Smith. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Poteau.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at the Pavilion at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Everett; one daughter, Nancy Wrigley of Poteau; three sisters, Elsie Mason, Pearl Stepp and Maildred McDaniel, all of Colorado; one brother, Earl Belding of Colorado; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Roxie Woodral
HEAVENER — Roxie Jane Woodral, 82, of Heavener died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at her home. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Bates.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at the First Assembly of God Church in Heavener with burial at Hontubby Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by her husband, Oda; six daughters, Pauline, Shirley and Henryetta Smallwood, Dorothy Underwood and Della LeFlore, all of Heavener and Rosie Miller of Wister; one son Jimmy “Buddy” Woodral of Heavener; 34 grandchldren; 50 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Marguerite McDonald
POTEAU — Marguerite Louise McDonald, 80, of Poteau died Friday, July 16, 1999, in Poteau. She was a homemaker, member of the First Christian Church of Poteau, and the widow of Jake McDonald.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday in the First Christian Church of Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Poe of Poteau; one son, Jim of Tulsa; one sister, Oba Lee Gilbert of Bokoshe; and three grandsons, Brett, Brian and Brock McDonald, all of Tulsa.

Velta Gambill
ARKOMA — Velta D. Gambill, 60, of Arkoma died Friday, July 16, 1999, in a local hospital. She was a Baptist and a production worker for Gould Battery.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park of Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby; one daughter, Elaine Moore of Alma; two sons, Darrel Dailey of Greenwood and Dwaine Dailey of Alma; one sister, Claudell Stallings of Greenwood; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Underwood, Jerry Looper, Delbert Stallings, Bryan Moore, W.C. Helms and Mike Winters.
The family will visit with friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 5438, Fort Smith, AR 72901.

George Ellis
VIAN — George W. Ellis, 89, of Vian died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in Sallisaw. He was a retired treatment engineer with Southwestern Wood Preserving and a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sallisaw, with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora; one daughter, Pat Dotson of Warner, Okla.; four sons, George of Siloam Springs, Gerald and Johnny, both of Vian, and Ken of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Rachel Perry of Sallisaw, and Eva Cantrell of Portland, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kyle, Chad, John Michael, Tim, Bruce and Steve Ellis, Eric and Paul Dotson and Steve Davis.

Ella Ford
WISTER, Okla. — Ella Ethel Ford, 88, of Wister died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in Poteau. She was a homemaker and the widow of Burl Ford.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ellis Chapel Community Church in Wister, Okla., with burial at Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister under the directionof Evans & Miller Fuenral Home of Poteau.
She is survivied by three daughters, Blanche Ford of Wister, Rosie Poor of Summerfield, Okla., and Linda Thompson of Cameron; three sons, Bob of Wister, Joe of Tulsa, and Gene of Pocola; three sisters, Frances Midgley and Margie Bell Harris, both of of Wister, and Lula Cummings of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Walter Qualls of Sallisaw; 20 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Hamilton
SALLISAW — Myrtle Juanita Hamilton, 80, of Hercules, Calif., died Sept. 5, 1999 in Oakland, Calif. She was a homemaker, beautician and a Baptist.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 1999 at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin; one sister, Mary Virginia Baugus of Midwest City, Okla.; and one brother, Clayton Holmes of Robinson, Ill.

J.C. Wright
VIAN — J.C. Wright, 73, of Vian died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999 in Fort Smith. He was a retired electrician, a member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Union No. 540 in Muskogee, Okla., and a member of Vian Baptist Church.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Vian Baptist Church with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Lou; one daughter, Sherry Young of Arkansas; one stepdaughter, Cindy Gallagher of Liberty, Okla,; three sons, Randy, Jackie and Ricky Reed, all of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy and Neal Rogers, Doug Bane, David Johnson, Paul Glover and Jim Weese.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class at Vian Baptist Church.

Robert May
POTEAU — Robert Truman (Bob) May, 71, of Poteau died Saturday, Sept. 11. 1999, at his home. He was a retired airlines executive with TWA Airlines, a member of the Rock Ford Freewill Baptist Church in Keota, a member of the Gideons International, the TWA Seniors Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
There will be visitation at the Grace Manor Funeral Home in Poteau from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow at a later day in Smithton, Mo., under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by two brothers, Ernest May of Sedalia, Mo., and John Benjamin May of Otterville, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Virgina Smith and Irene E. Homan, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and a longtime friend, Elmer R. Lewis of Poteau.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Program or the Greenville Baptist Church of Greenville, Calif. in care of Grace Manor Funeral Home.

Robert Patterson
POTEAU — Robert Patterson, 92, of Poteau died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Poteau. A retired school teacher, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Poteau, Heavener Masonic Lodge, The American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a disabled veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Heavener with burial at Heavener Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie Koenigseder
SUBIACO — Marie (Koch) Koenigseder, 88, of Subiaco, formerly of Scranton, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, in Paris. She was born in Shoal Creek, a homemaker, member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco, a former member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton and the widow of George Joseph Koenigseder.
Rosary was recited 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. today at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco with burial at St. Scholastica Catholic Cemetery in Shoal Creek under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Frederick of Subiaco, Doris Davis of Scranton and Betty Jansen and Joan Day both of Fort Smith; three sons, William and James Koenigseder both of Fort Smith and Bob Koenigseder of Scranton; 26 grandchildren, Diane Tencleve, Debbie Hardwicke, Rhonda Forst, Alan, Greg, Roger, Tim and Mark Koenigseder, Kenny, Joe, Phillip, Kim and Patricia Frederick, Karen Pallone, Carol Cooper, Laura Melton, Melanie Woody, Julie, Abby and Alex Jansen, Ryan and Michael Day, John, Lynn and Kelly Davis and Sharon Loyd; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and granddaughters.
The family visited with friends Sunday after the Rosary at St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Bobby Frost
SALLISAW — Bobby Frost, 53, of Sallisaw died Friday Aug. 25, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a member of AQHA, Oklahoma Throughbread Association, the Elks Lodge and the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at Blue Ribbon Downs Chapel with burial at Akins Cemtery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Jackie Frost of Roff, Okla. and Stephanie Kristene Hughes of Atoka, Okla.; one son, Kendall Hughes of Sulphur, Okla.; and two grandchildren; Joseph Berl Harrison of Roff, Okla. and Jayse Ryan Hughes of Sulphur, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Callaway, Dale Foster, Butch Bagley, Rex Brooks, Jeff Blackburn and Brent Bradley.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
The family visited with friends Sunday at the funeral home.

Lawton Cooper
POTEAU — Lawton Robert Cooper, 86, of Poteau died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a machinist, a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from the McAlester Naval Depot.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Cooper of Hodgen, Okla. and Susie McConnell of Hot Springs; two sons, Robert Thomas “B.T.” Cooper of Spiro and Jack Lawton of Shady Point; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Paragould Children’s Home.

John Campbell
ARKOMA — John W.S. Campbell, 81, of Arkoma died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a World War II veteran and a retired truck driver working for numerous trucking companies, including Jones Truck Lines. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pocola.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; one daughter, Donna Green of Arkoma; and one grandson, Jeremy Craig of Arkoma.
