FORT COFFEE, Okla. — Christean Campbell Swait, 94, Fort Coffee, Okla., died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Detroit. She was a member of Macedonia Church of God in Fort Coffee and was the widow of LeJames Swait.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Macadonia Church of God in Fort Coffee with burial at Fort Coffee Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by four daughters, Lorene Lee and Gladys Jones-Qunice, both of Detroit, and Sally Lee and Alverna Swait, both of Fort Coffee, Okla.; two sons, Curtis Swait of Fort Cofffee, Okla., and James Swait, Canton, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Ruth Roark
SALLISAW — Ruth Ann Roark, 66, Sallisaw, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell and administrator for Sequoyah Memorial Hospital. She was a 1952 graduate of Sallisaw High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1984. She began working at Sequoyah Memorial Hospita, was assistant administrator and was present administrator. She was a member of First Christian Church in Sallisaw, member of Financial Management Association, the executive board of Oklahoma Community HealthCare Alliance, Eastern Oklahoma Workforce Committee, Tobacco Free Oklahoma Coalition/American Cancer Society, Indian Capital Area Vo Tec School Healthcare careers committee, active in Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce and National Region receiving a certificate of “Special Congressional Recognition” for service on the HealthCare Task Force Committee and past member of Oklahoma Association Legislative Committee.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; a daughter, Linda McClanahan, Sallisaw; two sons, Mike Roark, Jackson, Mo., and Steve Roark, Maricopa, Ariz.; a brother, Wayne T. Ford, Lubbock, Texas; a half-brother, David Ford, Tennessee; and four grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sequoyah Memorial Hospital board of trustees.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sequoyah Memorial Hospital or Hospice, P.O. Box 505, Sallisaw, OK 74955.

James Spangler
HEAVENER — James Oliver Spangler, 79, of Heavener died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Talihina. He was born May 5, 1922, in Hamilton, Okla. He was a World War II veteran and worked in law enforcement most of his life and retired from the Jim Hamilton Correctional Center. He was the widower of Maxine Hope Spangler.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Heavener Memorial Gardens under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by a daughter, Lana Laird of California; two sisters, Mae Lamb and Kathy Spangler, both of Henryetta, Okla; and two grandchildren.

Martha Ritter
POTEAU — Martha Pearl Ritter, 71, of Poteau died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, in Poteau. She was born July 23, 1930, in Pittsburg, Okla.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Springhill Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, W.Z.; three sons, Gary Ritter of Hayward, Calif., Jack and Jerry Ritter, both of Modesto, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Bruxie Bell Smith of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Doris Moore of Poteau and Goldie Cox of Waldron; a brother, Richard Harmon of Hackett; nine stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

Bess Stanley
SPIRO — Bess Stanley, 82, of Spiro died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was the widow of Mack Stanley.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

John Anderson Sr.
KEOTA — John D. Anderson Sr., 71, of Keota died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Keota. He was a member of Keota Masonic Lodge, McAlester Scottish Rite, Muskogee Bedioun Temple, and McAlester Shrine Fire Brigade,
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in McCurtain Assembly of God with burial at Miners Cemetery in McCurtain under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Cindy Jones of Lawton, Okla., and Debbie Moro of Spiro; two sons, John Darmon Anderson Jr. of McCurtain, and Nelson Pollard of Stigler; two sisters, Wanda Sampson of Bixby, Okla., and Nina Bean of Pryor, Okla.; six brothers, Calvin Anderson of Turley, Okla., Larry Anderson of McCurtain, David Anderson of Panama, Tommy, Jimmy and Bobby Anderson, all of Stigler; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Dill, Jim Bob Cross, Rory Robertson, Chuck Huggins, Mike Kelley and Joe Button.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Myron Lovell
McALESTER, Okla. — Myron Ray Lovell, 74, of McAlester, Okla., died Sunday, April 21, 2002, in his home. He was born April 24, 1927, in Hackett. He graduated from Hackett High School and worked for Hoover Equipment Co. and Consolidated Equipment as a heavy equipment salesman. He was a member of Harrison-Powers American Legion Post No. 79 of McAlester, Okla., the Elks Lodge Post No. 533 of McAlester, a 32nd degree Mason, the McAlester Scottish Rite and the South McAlester No. 96 Lodge Shriners and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester, Okla., with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; a daughter, Priscilla Winchester of McAlester, Okla.; two sons, Dennis Lovell of McAlester, Okla., and Allen Lovell of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Armstrong, Ronnie, Kenneth and Randy Dunn, Michael Lovell and Jackie Sides.

Matthew Lamproe
TULSA — Matthew Theodore Lamproe, 81, of Tulsa died April 2, 2002, in Tulsa. He was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Chester. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received two Bronze Service Stars, the Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the EAME Theater Ribbon. He was a plumber and a member of the Sand Springs Masonic Lodge No. 475.
Funeral was April 5 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Sand Springs, Okla., with burial at Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home-Riverside Chapel in Sand Springs, Okla.
He is survived by five daughters, Wilma Carlisle, Velma Davis and Linda Lamproe, all of Sand Springs, Okla., Bonnie Holt of Blackburn, Okla., and Donna Kelley of Vinita, Okla.; four sons, Jimmy, Joseph and Matthew Lamproe Jr., all of Tulsa, and Carl Lamproe of Sand Springs, Okla.; mother of his children, Virginia Lamproe of Sand Springs, Okla; three sisters; seven brothers; 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

James Ralls
VIAN — James Allen Ralls, 83, of Vian died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born July 23, 1918, in Bokoshe. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a plumber in Tulsa for many years. He was a master plumber in the UA Local Union No. 205 in Tulsa for more than 50 years; he opened and ran Broken Arrow Plumbing & Heating for eight years before retiring to Vian. He was a member of Church of Christ for more than 50 years.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lake Road Church of Christ in Gore under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a daughter, Phyllis Mitchell of Piedmont, Okla.; a son, Jerry Ralls of Columbia, Md.; four grandchildren, Carmen Reed of Richland Hills, Texas, Jeffrey Ralls of Baltimore, Lesley Howe of Columbia, Md., and Karel Mitchell of Piedmont, Okla.; and two great-grandchildren.

Olen Flanagan
SALLISAW — Olen C. Flanagan, 83, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in Sallisaw. He was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Stilwell, Okla. He was retired from the Oklahoma Forestry Division and was a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Copic Missionary Baptist Church northeast of Muldrow with burial at Seabolt Cemetery northeast of Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by three daughters, Deanna Sue Deck of Hayesville, Kan., Patricia Lou Martin and Glenda Ellen Newman, both of Muldrow; a son, O.C. Flanagan Jr. of Muldrow; six grandchildren, Ronal and Denita Flanagan, Jana Armer, Patrice Roberts, Mike Deck and Shea McCrary; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronal and Kyl Flanagan, Mike Deck, Lucky McCrary, Kevin Roberts and Jamie Armer.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sam Trotter
SALLISAW — Sam Trotter, 88, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, in West Siloam Springs. He was a D.A.V. and served in the 42 Infantry Rainbow Division in World War II, attended the Church of Christ in Sallisaw.
Graveside memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Fleetwood Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survive by his wife, Myrtle; two daughters, Doris Childers of Siloam Springs and Billie Sue Nardecchia of Dallas; two sons, Charles and Thomas Trotter; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Earl L. Steinmetz
Earl L. Steinmetz, 73, of Muldrow died Saturday, April 20, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was a maintenance controller supervisor for the Arkansas Air National Guard, a veteran of the Air Force, a member of the Noon Exchange Club, the Air Force Sergeants Association and the American Legion and attended First United Methodist Church of Muldrow.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Patrice Steinmetz of Muldrow; three daughters, Melonie Paes of Magee, Miss., Caren Kelley and Cherry Newbold, both of Fort Smith; a son, Earl Steinmetz Jr. of Fort Smith; a sister, Sandra Grubbs of Hot Springs; two brothers, R.C. Steinmetz of Alma and Jack Mizell of Fort Smith; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dale Newbold, Jacob Paes, Keith Bagget, Delton Kelly, Gary Steinmetz, Darwin Wade, Kolby Latta and Tim Christmas.
Honorary pallbearers will be T.P. Davis, Carvel Stanfill, Charles Mattox and Tyler Christmas.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2605, Fort Smith, AR 72902.

James Cumpton
STIGLER — James Perry Cumpton, 67, of Stigler died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in Stigler. He was born May 27, 1935, in Muskogee, Okla. He was a contract attorney for Petro Industry, graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1958 with a geography, geology and chemistry degree, entered the service as a commissioned officer for the Army Intelligence in Washington, C.C., enrolled at Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, received a history and political science degree and received a jurist doctorate in law from Tulsa University in 1966. He worked for an oil company in Dallas and Denver and for Bass Brothers in Fort Worth writing natural gas contracts. He was a member of the Stigler First United Methodist Church in Stigler for 57 years.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Stigler First United Methodist Church with burial at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Cumpton of Stigler; two sisters, Gayle Cariker and Prissy Buttram, both of Stigler; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Conklin Jr., Larry Godfrey, Larry Maxwell, Ed Bell, Carl Rose Jr. and Sam Rose.

James Woolverton Jr.
POTEAU — James H. Woolverton Jr., 78, of Poteau died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Fort Smith. He was an Army veteran of World War II receiving the Qualification Expert Infantryman with rifle, carbine and submachine gun, was in the Asiatic Campaign, American Campaign, received the Good Conduct and Victory medals, the Distinguished Bronze Star and the Distinguished Purple Heart and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Poteau. He was the widower of Norma Trammel Woolverton.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at New Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Jeanie Jackson of Talihina; a son, Jimmy Ray Woolverton of Nobel, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Wanda Faye Cothren of Claremore, Okla.; a stepson, Robert D. Morgan; a sister, Ruby Nell Crawford of Van Buren; a brother, Michael Woolverton of Choctow, Okla.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
