Lisa Carol Sutherland

Lisa Carol Sutherland, 49, Altus, died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Kincannon Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dick Chapman and Guy Parker officiating. Burial will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born on May 6, 1955 to Glenn Robert and Joyce Lucille (Wright) Bostick in Richmond, Indiana. She graduated from high school in Fountain Valley, California. She was currently attending Western Oklahoma State College. She married Paul J. Sutherland on July 20, 1974 in Huntington Beach, California. She was a member of the Altus Christian Fellowship, the Republican Women's Organization, C.A.S.A. and Psi Beta. She enjoyed singing, gardening, bicycling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Paul of the home in Altus; her parents, Bob and Joyce Bostick of Altus; two daughters and sons-in-law, Corrie and Tom Livesay, Johnson City, Tn; Brenda and Tobias Valdez of Altus; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Ginni Sutherland of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a sister, Beth Sealey of Del Ray Beach, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Norma Bostick of Hammond, Indiana; Jeff and Susan Bostick of Dumfries, Virginia; six grandchildren and many friends.

Memorial tributes may be made to the local C.A.S.A. organization. The Sutherland family will receive friends at Kincannon Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening. General visitation is from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Hubert Lynn Edwards

Hubert Lynn "P-dot" Edwards II, 21 of Altus, OK. died Sunday July 23rd, 2006 in Clinton, OK. "P-Dot” Edwards was born August 24th, 1984, in Altus, OK. to Hubert L. Edwards of Altus, OK. and Valerie Hunter also of Altus, OK. He was an avid singer/rapper, songwriter, and performer, and often opened for music artists in Norman and Oklahoma City. A member of the Baptist Faith, he attended Altus Public Schools and proudly participated in ROTC and track during those years. He also was employed as a cook by Whataburger in Altus. He was preceded in death by two grandparents Robert Hunter and Rosemary Mitchell.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Ronnie Dennis of Altus, OK. Fantina Martin of Granite, OK.; three sisters, Marshae Holloway of McLeod, OK., Akeia Edwards of Altus, OK., Shavon Edwards (Gude) of Marlin, TX.; grandparents Reba Jo Shivers and Lindsey Edwards; a host of many loving aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews, and special friend of five years, Lynda Culpepper of Altus, OK.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 29th, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Elder D. Wayne Jones officiating and assisted by Minister Coval Thomas. Burial will follow the services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Bonnie Lee Elliott

Bonnie Lee Elliott, 82, Altus, died Wednesday February 23, 2005 at the English Village Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. February 26, 2005 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Bohannan and Rev. T.O. Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Bonnie was born May 20, 1922 in Seagraves, TX to William T. and Rosa May (James) Busby. She attended Altus High School through the 11th grade when she started working to support family after her father's death. She married Tony Elliott. To this union, a son was born. She worked her way up to office manager of Chickasha Compress, office manager of the COOP Compress and retired as office manager of the Hemphill Cotton Compress. She was faithful member of the Altus Church of the Nazarene. She served as church treasurer, on the church board, as Sunday school teacher and many other positions. She dearly loved her church. She loved to cook, especially baking her bread, cakes and pies and sharing them with countless number of family and friends. After retirement, she took up quilting and enjoyed making and giving away many to her family and friends. She at one time was a member of the Southwest OK Quilt Guild.

He husband preceded her in death; her parents; sister Velma Busby and two brothers, W.T. Busby and Melvin Busby. She is survived by her son, Anthony L 'Butch' Elliott and wife Carol of Altus, OK; grandchildren, Anthony L 'Tony' Elliott III of Ruidoso, NM and Bobbie Jo Fowler of SC; grandchildren of love, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Whitt of Boonville, MO, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bentley of Humboldt of AZ and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Whitt of San Antonio, TX; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Oleta Hatton and Vonneda 'Bill' Douglas, both of Altus; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Donnie Elliott

Donnie L. Elliott, 71, of Blair died Monday, November 13, 2006. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Blair First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell and Rev. Tyler McDowell officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

He was born June 26, 1935, in Blair, to Louis and Velma Ray (Roberts) Elliott. He graduated from Blair High School in 1953 and attended WOSC for two years. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Education degree at Oklahoma State University. His Master’s Degree in Education was obtained mostly from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Donnie Elliott taught and coached baseball and basketball at Verdon, Blair, Granite, and WOSC. He served on the Oklahoma Girl’s Basketball Coaches Association Board of Directors for eight years. He was a member of the OCA for 17 years and was the OCA Girl’s Basketball Coach of the year in 1971 and 1976. He was inducted into the Jackson County Hall of Fame, Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Athletics Hall of Fame. All were in recognition of outstanding ball clubs and wins from his talented young men and women that he had the honor to coach. In addition to his years in education, he was a full time farmer. He was a member of Blair First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He also served on the Cemetery Committee.

He married Maudine (McBroom) of Sentinel on July 18, 1958. Both his parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Maudine; two sons, Ray Dean and Wesley; one daughter, Donna; two granddaughters, Shelby and Shauna; two sisters, Rayma Dennis and husband C.H. of Altus, and Sylinda Rissot and husband Bob of Clayton, Indiana; as well as a host of family and friends.

Kalan and Chloe Elmore

Kalan and Chloe Elmore, two-month-old infant children of Janelle Perez and Brandon Elmore, of Olustee, OK, died Monday November 27, 2006 as a result of an automobile accident north of Olustee. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, December 1, 2006 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Olustee Cemetery in Olustee, OK.

Kalan and Chloe Elmore were born minutes apart on September 20, 2006 in Altus, OK to Janelle Perez and Brandon Elmore.

They were preceded in death by their great-great grandfather Orville Elmore; and one cousin, Brandon Lee Perez. Chloe and Kalan are survived by their parents; one sister, Trinity Lopez; one brother, Marcus Lopez; Grandparents Kristy and Kenneth Kastrow of Frederick, OK; Lorenzo and Mary Anne Perez of Olustee, OK; Great-Grandparents Frank and Norma Elmore of Frederick, OK; Lambert and Alice Kastrow, of Hebron, ND: Aunts and Uncles; Daniel and Cara Perez of Altus, Tiffany Kastrow of Frederick, Criscinda Perez of Olustee, Ross Corker of Olustee, Cassidy Perez of Olustee; cousins; Felicity Perez of Olustee, Evan Perez of Altus, Tristan Corker of Olustee, and Anbrya Corker of Olustee.

The Family of Kalan and Chloe will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home’s Gathering Room.

Olis D. "Catfish" "Tater" English

Olis D. "Catfish" "Tater" English, 72, Altus, died Friday April 1, 2005 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Mark Morey officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Mr. English was born May 13, 1932 to Frank and Ommer (Peterson) English in Leonia Florida. He graduated from Ponce De Leon High School in Florida. He married Fern E. Smith October 17, 1967 in Altus, Oklahoma .He later attended WOSC in Altus, Oklahoma. He served in the Army/Air Force from 1949 to 1973, retiring after 22 years as a SSgt. He also worked at the City of Altus Water Treatment Plant for 22 years and retired in February 2003. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of several organizations including the Altus Masonic Lodge #62 where he was a 23 year member as of 2004, the KCCH Scottish Rite Masons, the Shiners, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities, and teaching Masonic work.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ommer English; his wife Fern E. English; 4 brothers, Wilburn English, Willie Joe English, Paul Franklin, and John Terry English; 2 sisters, Cordelia English and Maeommie Borguland, and one step-son Gerald R Conaway.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Corey A English of Albuquerque, New Mexico and one step-daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Don Hake of Imperial, Missouri; 3 sisters, Winnie Ruth Brookshire of Defuniak Springs Florida, Helen Mathews of Westville, Florida, and Emma Hudson of Defuniak Springs, Florida; one brother and sister-in-law Steve and Rachel English of Westville, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Tony Esquivel

Tony Esquivel, 23, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Altus, died Thursday evening in Edmond, OK. Funeral Services are currently pending with Kincannon Funeral Home.

James Eugene Evans

James Eugene Evans, 64, Altus, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at the home of friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 17, at the Altus City Cemetery, with Bobby Laws officiating. Services and burial are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

He was born on September 15, 1942 to James W. Evans and Shirley Clark. He graduated from High School in Everett, PA.

He was a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He entered the United States Air Force on January 30, 1962 and retired on February 29, 1988 with 26 years of service to his country. His Military decorations were: Air Force Commendation Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters, numerous service award ribbons, and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. He belonged to several organizations: Altus Masonic Lodge No. 62 – Perpetual Member; 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Guthrie Bodies; VFW – Life Member; American Legion – Life Member; NRA and American Motorcycle Association. He was an avid collector of Zippo Lighters, Military Books, loved everything concerning his “Harley”. He made numerous long trips with his Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents James W. Evans and Shirley Clark. He is survived by a special friend, Bobby Laws; several aunts and cousins in the Pennsylvania and Delaware area; extended family of Mr. and Mrs. John Howard and their two daughters of Mildenhall, England; the entire Masonic family of the Altus Masonic Lodge No. 62; and Ruth, a God sent caregiver in his final days on this earth.

Paul Angel Ledesma

Paul Angel Ledesma, 32, Denver, CO, formerly of Altus, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 in Denver, CO. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Ventonis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Paul Ledesma was born November 18, 1975 to Paul Johnson and Rosa Martinez in Altus, Oklahoma. Paul attended Altus Public Schools. He married Veronica Garcia in 1994. Paul worked in the retail clothing industry. He enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding, drawing, fishing, poetry, and music. He was of the Christian faith.

Paul is survived by his mother, Rosa Martinez of Altus; father, Paul Johnson; grandmother, Geraldine Irvin; one son, Paul Anthony Ledesma; and one daughter, Haley Ranae Ledesma, the children’s mother, Veronica, all of Altus; five brothers, Ringo Ledesma and wife Sofia of Edcouch, TX, Raul Ledesma and wife Jennifer, Joe Ledesma, and Quentin Richie all of Altus. Ana Marie Leistner

Ana Marie Leistner, 26, Altus, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Morey officiating.

She was born on June 25, 1981 in Altus to Michael and Pamela (Hamby) Leistner. Ana Marie was raised by her grandparents, Charles and Patricia Leistner, of Altus. She attended Altus Schools and was an Honor Student, graduating in 1999 from Altus High School. She received State Honors playing the trombone in the Altus Jr. High Band. She attained an Associate of Arts Degree from W.O.S.C. and a Medical Transcription Certification from Southwest VoTech Center in Altus. She enjoyed music, drawing and writing.

She is survived by her father and stepmother Michael and Gwen Leistner of Strongsville, Ohio; several aunts and uncles, Tom and Stephanie Leistner of Elk City, Ok; Mark and Debra Leistner of Hobart, Ok; Charles and Hitomi Leistner of Fairfield, Ca; Stephen and Christine Leistner of Lone Wolf, Ok; Mary Leistner of Granite, Ok; cousins, Kyle and Brooke Leistner of Elk City, Ok; Keith Patrick Leistner of Hobart, Ok; Charles and Patricia Leistner of Lawrence, Ks; Stephanie Newton and Travis Leistner both of Granite, Ok. Delhia "Miss Dee" Mae Lester

Delhia "Miss Dee" Mae Lester, 66, Altus, died Tuesday February 15, 2005 at the English Village Nursing Home. Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00P.M. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Services are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Delhia 'Dee' Mae Lester was born July 17, 1938 in New Haven, CT. She lost her parents at a very early age. She spent many years living with different families and finally at the age of 12 went out on her own. Delhia has not had an easy life but faced all the adversity head on. She was not a quitter and spent her life trying to help others. She married Alton T. Lester, a former Army private, firefighter for the Norfolk Virginia Fire Department and artist. From this marriage came her only child, Jennifer. She lost her husband in 1980. She moved to Altus with Jennifer in 1985 and obtained employment at Altus Air Force Base. She had worked there until retirement in 2004. She had a very rewarding career. She obtained many awards and even a medal on her retirement. She was very respected, loved and generous woman. She left her mark on many lives.

Delhia initiated the 'Angel Tree' that provide Christmas to many less fortunate children at Christmas time. She spent hours upon hours of her free time making quilts and and lap blankets which she donated to the Indian Hospital, Veterans Hospital and nursing homes. If she heard of a need, she took it upon herself with a network of friends to help. She cleaned, repaired and shipped thousands of pieces of clothing to the Appalachian children to help them. She also donated to them school supplies.

Dee had various hobbies and her love of sewing and cooking usually played a part in them. She also had various trades in her life besides the Air Force Base. Among those are general construction contractor, appointment clerk, a licensed firearms dealer, logging, experienced seamstress, teacher in various schools including Prospect Christian Academy in Virginia. She also taught at churches and home extension offices in Virginia. She ran and managed a 30 acre farm a firewood business. She was a Food Service Super and Assistant Instructor. Her most important and most rewarding job was one as a homemaker and mother.

She took so much pride in her family, she assisted her husband Alton in purchasing, renovating and selling investment properties. She also sacrificed and saved to make her daughter's dream and skills as an artist come true. She took great pride and pleasure in all of Jennifer's art but none more so than the painting she did on the fence of her home and her front walkway. Dee is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Menkouchi and husband Abdullah, Morroco.

She also leaves behind her extended family Sherri and Tommy Fagan of Altus, Sharon and David Bradford of Altus, Zac Finley of Hollis, Mindy Tucker of Altus, Joanne Roberts of Altus, Jamie Schumacher of Altus and David and Dawn Philpott, FL.

She has left behind so many friends and especially all the little kids whom all knew her as Miss Dee and her special friend, Kim Bailey, Bob Harris and Gina Tolbert all of Altus. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of the American Kidney Association.

Peggy Pryor Leonard

Peggy Pryor Leonard, 76, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at her home in Olustee, Oklahoma. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. The Leonard family will greet friends on Friday, August 4, 2006 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.

Peggy was born on April 8, 1930 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Joseph L. Pryor and Bessie Faye (Parman) Pryor. Peggy was married to Dennis G. Leonard in 1941. Peggy worked as an accountant for most of her life.

Peggy is survived by one daughter, DeAnne Leonard Warren of Olustee, Oklahoma and one son, Dennis Joe Leonard of Jasper, Tennessee, four grandchildren; Dennis A. Leonard, Thomasville, Georgia, Elizabeth J. Williams, Watertown, Tennessee, Jessica L. Warren, Altus, Oklahoma, and Whitney J. Warren, Olustee, Oklahoma. Two brothers, William N. Pryor of Yukon, Oklahoma, and John C. Pryor of Olustee, Oklahoma also survive her as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Dennis; her mother and father, Bessie and Joseph Pryor; four brothers, Joseph L. Pryor, Ralph P. Pryor, James R. Pryor and Patrick L. Pryor. Mary Jane Levick

Mary Jane Levick, 77, of Headrick, Oklahoma, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Altus, Oklahoma after a brief illness. Graveside services will be Monday, October 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born on May 5, 1928 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Maida Edwards Ward and the late Earl Edwards. She married Jack Levick on July 19, 1956 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. She was a beautician and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of the home. A daughter, Pamela Imel, and her husband, Larry, of Vernon, Texas; two grandsons, Robert Imel and Timothy Imel of Vernon Texas; a granddaughter, April Sneed of Vernon, Texas; four great-grandchildren; one step-sister, Bernice Boyd of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a sister-in-law, Helen Levick of Altus, Oklahoma.

Ivan Charles Lewis

Ivan Charles Lewis, 87, of Blair, Oklahoma, went to be with Jesus Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Plantation Village Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2008 at the Blair First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

He was born on February 6, 1921 in Lane County Kansas to Charlie and Stella (Williams) Lewis. He graduated high school at Dighton, Kansas. He married Jacqueline Wheeler on December 22, 1967 at Blair.

Ivan farmed the family farm for his mom during the war years. His love for combines began a life long career of harvesting that lasted 55 years. His venture was to load his combines on trucks and come south from Kansas to follow the wheat harvest back north all the way from Oklahoma to North Dakota. In the fall, he harvested milo in Texas. He loved to play dominos, cards and chess. He especially enjoyed playing games with the grandchildren. No matter who he played, he usually won, but he always let the grandkids win. Ivan was a member of Blair First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Ronnie Wheeler; a grandson, Michael Engle; a great-granddaughter, Mary Katherine McNutt; one daughter-in-law, Billie Lewis; three sons-in-law, Ben Sirmons, Alan Wilcox and Dale Carrico; six brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline of Blair, OK; three daughters, Carla Carrico of Katy, TX, Cathy Bevers, and husband Donnie of Altus, Maxine Adams and husband, Ronnie, of Weatherford, OK; three sons, Curtis Lewis and wife, Kathy, of Scott City, KS, Quinton Lewis of Blair, and Craig Lewis of Hays, KS; four step-daughters, Roberta Graves and husband, Perry of Blair, Joy Hokett and husband, Darrell, of Blair, Bonita Engle and husband, Mike of Altus, and Belinda Wilcox of Altus; one sister, Wanda Brence and husband, Fhilo of Hollister, MO; two brothers, Dales Lewis and wife, Mildred, of Hutchinson, KS; and Lyle Lewis and wife, Harriet of Dighton, KS; two sisters-in-law, Doris Lewis of Dighton, KS, and Dorothy Lewis of Dighton, KS; twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
