VIAN — Sonny Rape, 60, of Vian died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in Fort Smith. He was born Feb. 5, 1942, in Marble City. He was a 1960 graduate of Sallisaw High School, a heavy equipment operator for Sequoyah County District No. 2 and a Baptist.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Marble City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by a daughter, Leslie Alon Floyd of Sallisaw; two sons, Harlan Lance Rape of Nashville, Tenn., and Clinton Lane Rape of Marble City; two sisters, Sylvia Marie Lasiter of Tahlequah, Okla., and Mary Ann Choate of Bunch, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elzie Philpot
SALLISAW — Elzie Drannon Philpot, 87, Sallisaw died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in Sallisaw. He was born Jan. 16, 1915, in Hayworth. He was a retired farmer and a labor worker and of the Holiness faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Apostolic Faith Church in Sallisaw with burial at Brushy Cemetery north of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline; a son, Bobby Lee Philpot of Sallisaw; four sisters, Cleo Jamison, Grace Perryman and Louise Chandler, all of Sallisaw, and Opal Philpot of Vian; four brothers, Norman, Bill and Jack Philpot, all of Sallisaw, and Wesley Philpot of Tulsa; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary, Johnny, Stan, Hoyet and Steve Philpot and Doug Hodge.

Lena Shelton
HEAVENER, Okla. — Lena Shelton, 80, of Heavener, Okla. died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in Heavener. She was a Pentecostal and a retired nurse’s aide.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel of Heavener with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Panama, Okla.
She is survived by seven daughters, Shirley Webb and Pricilla Harrison, both of Huntington, Rebecca Holt of Marlow, Okla., Ruth Carnell of Fremont, Calif., Dona Holland of Tulsa, Bea Heydenreich of Fort Smith and Martha Scott of Heavener; two sons, Carl of Heavener and Randy of Monroe, Okla.; two sisters, Hazel and Betty King, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jerome Poe
POCOLA, Okla. — Jerome H. Poe, 83, of Pocola, Okla. died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in a local hospital. He was a retired salesman, a Baptist and a member of Good Sam Travel Club.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith with graveside service 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee Lewis Poe; two daughters, Ramona Kouri of Fort Smith and Sandra Madewell of Tulsa; two sisters, Marcelle Rogers of Memphis, Tenn. and Joyce Schumer of Cuba, Mo.; two brothers, Ralph of Winchester, Va. and Jimmy of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren, Rebecca Hobbs, Cynthia Matlock, Melissa Richardson and Neil McBee; and eight great-grandchildren.

Rev. Morris Pipkin Sr.
POCOLA, Okla. — Rev. Morris Bruce Pipkin Sr., 80, of Pocola, Okla. died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a United Methodist minister, member of V.F.W. in Spiro and an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Pocola United Methodist Church of Pocola with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Pipkin; four daughters, Betty Ann Walker of Monahans, Texas, Jean Elaine Henderson of Bokoshe, Okla., Nancy Clark of Heavener and Karen Schmid of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Morris Bruce Pipkin Jr. of Poteau and Jonathan Pipkin of Duncan, Okla.; one sister, Gladys Karl of Pocola; two brothers, Ralph Pipkins of Spiro and George Pipkins of Pocola; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Pipkins, Matthew, Cole and Wesley Pipkin, and Royce and Brian Walker.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.. Friday at the funeral home.

Billy McClish
POCOLA, Okla. — Billy Edward McClish, 54, of Pocola, Okla. died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in his home. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church of Pocola with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by one daughter, Nicole Lynn McClish of Pocola; one son, Lamont Johnson of Wichita, Kan.; six sisters, Cynthia Tillman, Jo Guillory and Ruby Poole, all of Pocola, Norman Fulbright of Fort Smith, Jackie Woodard of Chicago and Nathalee McClish of Tulsa; and 10 brothers, Rev. Jimmy McClish of Oklahoma City, Frederick, Jr., Earl, William, James and Maurice, all of Wichita, Kan., Maurice Ricks of Fort Smith, Willie Ricks of Clinton, Md. and Lee Alfred Wright of Fort Benning, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Poole, Mark Gordon, Earl Shepard, Bobby Jones, Norman Lionel Fulbright, Nathan Walker, Stanley Rawlings and Larry Roberts.

Geneva Oglesby
POTEAU — Geneva G. Oglesby, 89, of Poteau, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and helped to pastor a church in LeFlore, Okla., for three years. She was the widow of the Rev. W.R. Oglesby.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Poteau, with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Doris Oglesby of the home; three sons, Roy E. Clayton of Pittsboro, N.C., Cecil Clayton of Fayetteville and Raymond Oglesby of Tulsa; one sister, Barbara Mount of Tulsa; three stepdaughters, May Riley of Atlanta, Loma Hodges of Dothan, Ala., and Vertie Hurches of Rock Falls, Ill.; three stepsons, Homer Oglesby of Poteau, Thomas Oglesby of Lincoln, Neb., Dallas Oglesby of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Wilson, Homer Oglesby, Homer Oglesby Jr., Jeff Callaway, Gary Newby and Jimmy Hebert.

Karen Smith
MULDROW — Karen R. Smith, 46, of Muldrow died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Tulsa. She was co-owner and operator of Smith Furniture, a member of First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow and a 1971 graduate of Muldrow High School.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m today at First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, with burial at Cottonwood Cemetery, south of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
She is survived by her husband, Gailen; two daughters, Shawntel and Carisa Smith, both of Tulsa; one son, Michael Smith of Muldrow; her mother, Helen Fouts of Spiro; maternal grandmother, Stella Bagley of Muldrow; two brothers, Gerald and Bryan Fouts of Spiro; and one grandchild, Katherine Nicole Smith of Muldrow.
Pallbearers will be David Weaver, Ted Stamps, Larry Efurd, Leo Aich, Danny Morgan and Kenny Sparkman.
Memorial contributions may be made to Armstrong Bank in Muldrow c/o Karen Smith.

Pearl Davis
VIAN — Pearl Davis, 93, of Vian died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in a Vian nursing home.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Vian Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two nieces, Edna Bigfeather of Marble City, Okla., and Sadie Parnell of Tahlequah, Okla.; and four nephews, Sam Ed Bush and Billy Joe Fields, both of Marble City; Norman Bush of Sallisaw and Charley Floyd Fields of Heavener.

John Rose Sr.
WALDRON — John Stephen Rose Sr., 76, of Waldron died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in Waldron. He was an Army veteran, pastor of Bush Non-Denominational Church and retired from the Waldron Furniture Company.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, with burial at Duncan Cemetery in Waldron.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Verna Smith of Heavener and Lavonne Page of Bates; two sons, John Rose Jr. of Milledgeville, Tenn., and Thomas Clayton Rose of Springdale; three sisters, Bonnie Forrest of Waldron, Imogene McCurry of Blancett and Betty Boggs of Ione; 10 grandchildren, April Rhoads, John Thomas Rose, Misty and Thomas Rose, Bobby and Jamie Page, Becky Green, Wayne Smith II, Erik Smith and Jorena Stapp; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Curtin Billings, H. Wayne Smith, Wayne Smith II, Erik Smith, Thomas Clayton Rose II and Andy Forrest.
The body may be viewed from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Beulah Tootle
SALLISAW — Beulah C. Brogdon Tootle, 97, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Sallisaw.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw, with burial at Akins Cemetery in the Akins community.
She is survived by three daughters, Maggie L. Peele of Muldrow, Millie Joplin of Sallisaw and Glenda Tucker of Rogers; one son, Edward Brogdon of Muldrow; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Dorothy Smith
SPIRO — Dorothy Mae Smith, 80, of Spiro died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Spiro. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church of Spiro.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday Oct. 11, 1999, in Mallory Chapel in Spiro with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
She is survived by two sons, Charles of Spiro and Aaron of Edwardville, Kan.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank Davies, Harold Morris, James Mize, Allen Tippitt, H.B. Hayes, Will Hastings, Don Fisk and Jerry Man.
Viewing will be at Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

Albert Kennedy
POCOLA — Albert J. Kennedy, 79, of Pocola died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Pocola. He was a factory worker for Okla Homer Smith, a veteran and of the Assembly of God faith.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 11, 1999 at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Carol Waterbury and Connie Fann of Pocola and Mary Robinson of Claremore, Okla.; two sons, Richard and Larry Jo of Pocola; one sister, Betty Robinson of Fort Smith; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Karen Smith

Kathlyeen Burnett
HEAVENER — Kathlyeen (Katz) Burnett, 84, of Heavener died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Fort Smith. She was a longtime resident of Heavener, a retired teacher, having taught and coached in Hartshorne, Drumwright and Spiro. She was a supporter and contributor for scholarships at Northeastern State University, Oklahoma Baptist University and Carl Albert State College. She was recognized as an outstanding coach during her teaching career and coached state championship teams. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Oklahoma Education Association and the LeFlore County Retired Teachers Association.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999 at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
She is survived by three cousins, Teddy R. Livesay and Nancy J. Hamilton both of Heavener and Tim Livesay of Tahlequah; other cousins include Jack Smith of Shawnee and Wanda Burns of Victoria, Texas.
