Katy Parris
COOKSON, Okla. — Katy Ava Parris, 85, of Cookson died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Tahlequah, Okla. She was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Short, Okla. She was a retired winding machine operator from Baldor, attended Uniontown Southern Baptist Church and was the widow of Claud Parris.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow.
She is survived by a daughter, Claudine Laney of Cookson, Okla.; a son, Bob Parris of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Blanche McKim of Tulsa and Melba Denton of Sallisaw; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Watie Lee Fine
Watie Lee Fine passed this life on Dec. 17, 2004. Mr. Fine, formerly of Sallisaw, died at his home in Fort Smith in the presence of his family. He attained the age of 91 years.
Mr. Fine was born in the Akins community one mile north of Sallisaw on July 13, 1913, to David and Eva Mae Fine. He had one sister, Georgia. They have preceded him in death. He spent most of his life in Sequoyah County. His desire for and his ability to obtain an education in spite of his economic hardships was monumental to those who knew him. He graduated from Connors State College in Warner and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah in 1935. He retired after 41 years of service in education.
As an educator, Mr. Fine’s philosophy of teaching was strong. “I have always felt as if I were a part of the life of every individual under my supervision, so I tried to do what was right and set a moral example for my students.” This philosophy carried over into his family life, as his greatest ability was to be a wonderful father and a loving husband to his wife. Mr. Fine will long be remembered for his spirit for hard work, his integrity, his love of people and his most commonly used words, “Thank you!”
He is survived by his wife, Rubye Fine of Fort Smith; two sons, Dr. Gary Fine and his wife Nancy of Fort Smith and Michael Fine and his wife Kathy of Edmond, Okla.; and three daughters, Geraldine Dixon and her husband Richard of Tulsa, and Vickie Cantrell and her husband Gary, and Jean Whitaker, all of Sallisaw. His grandchildren are William Dixon and his wife Jackie of Tulsa, Shelly Kantola and her husband Dr. Ron Kantola of Chicago, Lts. Jamie Horning and her husband Brad of Bahrain, Jeff, Chris and Kimberly Fine, all of Edmond, Keli Ward of Dallas, Nick Carter and his wife Betty of Greenbriar, Tenn., Melody Smith and her husband Brent of Sallisaw; one great-grandson, Austin Stanhope of Sallisaw; and one great-granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Kantola of Chicago.
Funeral service will be held at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw at 2 p.m. Tuesday with interment at Sallisaw City Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cecil Wallace
Cecil Wallace, 93, of Stigler, formerly of Quinton, Okla., died Saturday, December 18, 2004 in Stigler. He retired from Choctaw Gas Co. in Quinton and was a farmer, rancher and school bus driver. He also worked for Gas Service Corp. in McAlester. He attended the Featherston Baptist Church and was a Methodist. He loved gardening, fishing and horses. He was the widower of Jessie M. Wallace.
Born Oct. 29, 1911, in Carney, Okla., to William Curtis and Clara Bassett Wallace, he married Jessie Muriel Davenport on Oct. 17, 1931, in McAlester, Okla.
He and Jessie raised two daughters, Patricia Ann Wallace Cloud and Sue Ellen Wallace Russell. A baby boy died in infancy.
Wallace spent most of his life in the gas fields of eastern Oklahoma, even checking gas wells on horseback. He raised cattle and farmed crops of corn and cotton.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Featherston Baptist Church in Featherston, Okla., with the Rev. Jim White and the Rev. John Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Featherston Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Cloud and Ray of Stigler; two sisters, Tressa Noble of Blocker and Ellen Ogden and her husband Rudolph of Quinton; a brother, W.C. Wallace and his wife Montice of Haywood, Okla.; two grandchildren, Pam Cloud of Arkoma and Mike Cloud and his wife Scarlett of Muldrow; and two great-grandchildren, Garrett Michael and Emmy LaRay Cloud, both of Muldrow.
In addition to his wife, son and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Ellen; six sisters, Flossa Park, Esther Wallace, Eunice Ann Wallace and three infants; and an infant brother.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Glenn Ogden, Wayne Ogden, Johnny Gibson, Roger Gibson, Curt Wallace and James Glen Brunson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Fowler, Fred Russell, Mike Frame, Keith Pryor, Marvin Burke and Kenneth "Chick" Kelley.
The body will be viewed at the Mallory Chapel in Quinton, today from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 320 N. Greenwood Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72901; or to the Featherston Cemetery Association in care of Farmers State Bank, P.O. Box 610, Quinton, OK 74561.

Annie Sockey
ARKOMA — Annie Mae Culverson Sockey, 85, of Arkoma died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, a member of Arkoma Assembly of God and the widow of Ray Culverson.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Harrison of Arkoma, JoAnn Unruh of Arkoma and Reba Culverson of Lawton, Okla.; a brother, Bruce Freeman of Van Buren; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. today at the Arkoma Assembly of God with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Unruh, Harold Blanscet, Roy and Mike Culverson, Paul Jacob, Paul Richard Jacob and Gerald Snow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkoma Assembly of God, 205 Summer Ave., Arkoma, OK 74901.

Juanita Moore
SALLISAW — Juanita Moore, 82, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two sons, Guy Moore Jr. and Rickard Moore, both of Sallisaw.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society; People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals; or the Doris Day Animal League.

Cecil Wallace
QUINTON, Okla. — Cecil Wallace, 93, of Quinton died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Stigler, Okla. He was the widower of Jessie Wallace.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Featherston Baptist Church in Featherston, Okla., with burial at Featherston Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cloud of Stigler; two sisters, Tressa Noble of Blocker and Ellen Ogden of Quinton; a brother, W.C. Wallace of Haywood, Okla.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews Glenn and Wayne Ogden, Johnny and Roger Gibson, Curt Wallace and James Brunson.
The body may be viewed at the Mallory Chapel in Quinton.

Daniel Childress
POTEAU — Daniel Lee Childress, 22, of Poteau died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, near Cameron. He was born July 21, 1982, in Blythe, Calif. He was a sound technician.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God in Hartford with burial at Monroe Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his parents, David and Sue Childress of Monroe; birth parents, Danny Dye of Willcox, Ariz., and Susan Placke of Panama; maternal birth grandparents, John and Virginia Sanders of Monroe; paternal birth grandparents, Harry and Lou Dye of Yuma, Ariz.; maternal birth great-grandmother, Bessie Green; three sisters, Lynette Williams of Monroe, Christine Dye of Marianna and Susie Frizzell of Howe; and a brother, Dustin Smith of Roland.
Pallbearers will be Matt Howell, Keith Childress, Barry Combs, Mike Masini and Brandon and Greg Myers.

Christopher Caldwell
HOWE — Christopher Caldwell, 29, of Howe died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, in Poteau. He was born Dec. 16, 1975, in Huntington, W.Va. He was a painter.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Christian Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Pocola under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Penrod of Howe; a son, Dakota Caldwell of the home; three stepchildren, Erich, Damian and Steven Penrod, all of the home; his mother, Cecilia Kahala of Pocola; his father, Travis Caldwell of Muldrow; maternal grandparents, Hilton and Paula Kannady of Pocola; paternal grandmother, Ethalene Caldwell of Chesapeake, Ohio; a sister, Jessica Bennett of Pocola; and five brothers, Scott Caldwell, Maxwell Kannady, Jacob Bennett and Brandon Stanley, all of Pocola, and Jason Bennett of Richland, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Billy Waddle Jr., Dillon and Casey Waddle, Jordan Stanley, Zachary Caldwell and Shannon Kannady.

Jack Cody
MULDROW — Jack Charles Cody, 79, of Muldrow died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Sallisaw. He was born May 4, 1925, in Grandfield, Okla. He was retired from Sequoyah County District 1 and Covy Fort Smith Couch & Bedding as a driver. He was a Protestant, a World War II veteran and the widower of Lodena Cody.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Muldrow.
He is survived by his wife, Ola; two stepsons, Calvin Vaughn of Muldrow and Cecil Wise of Claudeville, Va.; eight step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Turner, Omer Montgomery, Don Jones, Bruce Tabor, Frank McGee, Alan Woodward and R.C. Rogers.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clarence Morton
ARKOMA — Clarence Ray Morton, 66, of Arkoma died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, in Arkoma. He was a Mason and a Marine during the Vietnam War.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mallory Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Kathy Jones of Wagoner, Okla.; a son, Lewis Jones of Claremore, Okla.; a sister, Carolyn Fallauer of Arkoma; three brothers, Bill Morton of Arkoma, Clifford Morton of Elk Hart, Kan., and Austin Morton of Spiro; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Josh and Mike Toone, Tommy Smith, Les Morton, Donnie Johnson and Daryl Greer.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Raymond Loyd Munn
Raymond Loyd Munn, 94, of Stigler died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, in a Stigler Nursing Home. Loyd was born in Stigler on May 20, 1910. He graduated from Stigler High School, Northeastern State University and the Williams Institute of Mortuary Science in Kansas City. Munn became the owner of Mallory Funeral Home in 1937 when G.E. Mallory died. Loyd was committed to the funeral industry for almost 80 years. He also operated the ambulance service in Haskell County for 30 years.
Loyd served on the city council, which was the first council under the city manager form of government. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Lion’s Club, Chamber of Commerce, Stigler Masonic Lodge No. 121, the McAlester Consistory, the Bedouin Temple in Muskogee and the Golden Redman Society. In 1970 he was awarded the “Outstanding Citizen of the Month” by the Stigler Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his two daughters, Susan of Houston and Kathy Martin and her husband Doug of Stigler; five grandchildren, Greg Peiffer and his wife Rina of Georgetown, Texas, Rochelle Larson and her husband Emile of Kenner, La., Todd Martin and his wife Tami of Sallisaw, Chad Martin and his wife Christy of Little Elm, Texas, and Blake Martin from Stigler. Loyd has five great-grandchildren.
Loyd is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Edith (Pringle) Munn; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Stigler with the Rev. Rex Wilkes officiating. Burial will be at Stigler City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Stigler. Memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 249, Stigler, OK 74462.

Ethel Wise
POTEAU — Ethel M. Wise, 93, of Poteau died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in Poteau. She was born May 6, 1911, in Cove. She was a retired motel manager, a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Poteau and the widow of Malvin Walker and Woodson Wise.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Poteau with burial at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Elsie Hargrove of Poteau and Malva Collins of Heavener; a sister, Claudene Davidson of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nick Fox, Bob Graham, Jim Marsh, John Boevers, Louis Gill and James Durham.
