HEAVENER — Mayme E. Carter, 87, of Heavener died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Heavener. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was the widow of Robert “Bob” Carter.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by a son, Harvey Lee Carter of Heavener; two sisters, Joyce Henry of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jessie Mae Henry of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Nancy Morris, Susan Hombree, Bobby Carter and Dennis Carter; and seven great-grandchildren.

Gladyce Davis
GILBERT, Ariz. — Gladyce O. Hunter Davis, 97, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Gilbert, Ariz. She was born Jan. 1, 1904, in Haileyville, Okla. She taught school in Crowder, Okla., Howe and Poteau and was a sponsor of a chapter of Future Homemakers of America and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional organization for teachers. She was a member of the Poteau Baptist Church for many years. She was the widow of William O. Davis.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne, Okla., under the direction of Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Poteau First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lancaster and Sue Lombardi; three grandchildren, Robert William Lombardi, Genanne Lombardi and David Lancaster; a niece, Jay Hunter Petty; and a nephew, George Hunter McBee.

James Reading
LEQUIRE — James Delbert Reading, 78, of Lequire died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Stigler. He was a member of Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Sans Bois Cemetery in Kinta.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Glenda Kay Miller of Lequire and Linda Gale Hughes of Georgia; two sons, Gary James Reading of Lequire and Derial Delbert Reading of Enterprise; a sister, Naomi Percifield of Kinta; three brothers, Herbert Reading of Poteau, Doyle Reading of Oklahoma City and Donald Reading of California; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Snow, Willis Daniel, Kendel Reading, David and Scott Percifield and Guy Peebles.

Maxine Pixler
KINTA — Maxine Pixler, 76, of Kinta died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Stigler.
Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mallory Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler.
She is survived by her husband, Newell; a daughter, Pam Spears of Whitefield; two sons, Steven and Stuart Pixler, both of Kinta; a sister, Sharon Fisher of Idabel, Okla.; a brother, Jack Moore of Bowie, Texas; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bea Lassiter and Jo Holdridge, both of Stigler, and Shirley Cummings of Kinta.
Honorary pallbearers will be Women’s Hospital Auxiliary and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

Kikue Blevins
SALLISAW — Kikue Ushigima Blevins, 76, of Sallisaw died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and was of the Nam Myoho Renege Kyo Buddhist faith. She was the widow of Clarion E. “Butter” Blevins.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Maple Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Akume Mokami of Osaka, Japan; and two grandchildren.

Irene Blair
POCOLA — Irene Blair, 81, of Pocola died Friday, June 22, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Charley L. Blair.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today in Pocola Heights Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Norrid of Pocola; two grandchildren, Amanda and Leslie Norrid, both of Pocola.
Pallbearers will be Henry and Clarence Blair, Floyd Howard, Steve Wilhelm, James Ward and Ray Moore.

Bobby Clinton “Bob” Jordan
Bobby Clinton “Bob” Jordan, 68, of Redland, Okla., died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in his home. He was a farmer and a rancher and worked for 38 years at Stephens Production Co. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a 1951 graduate of Gans High School.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in First Assembly of God in Muldrow with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna and Bobby Beutelschies of Muldrow and Elizabeth and J.R. Hardwick of Redland; two brothers, Tommy Jordan of Redland and Jerry Jordan of Muldrow; and three grandchildren, Cody Clinton Beutelschies, Jordan Matthew Hardwick and Trey Dillon Hardwick.
Pallbearers will be Sonny and Andy Linker, Bert Richards, Steve Woodruff, Larry Brunk, Geary Rhodes, Jack Limore and Mike Rogers.

Mr. Moody Ray Blaylock
Mr. Moody Ray Blaylock, 69, of Muldrow passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was born March 14, 1935, in Muldrow to Ray and Lucille (Shackelford) Blaylock. He was the owner and operator of Blaylock Auto Supply in Muldrow, a member of the Muldrow First Baptist Church and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Dalana Marchant of Muldrow; one son, Marshall Blaylock of Springdale; one sister, Kay Rhodes of Muldrow; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today from 1 to 9 p.m. at Agents Funeral Home Chapel in Muldrow, with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the Muldrow First Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Ohls, Don George and Kevin Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerald Blaylock, Carl Grizzle, Dewayne Shackelford, Tommy Treat, Barron Thompson, Randy Winstead, Bob Rogers, Jimmy Brunk, Stanley Blaylock and Ethard Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Justin Blaylock, Tyler Blaylock, Barrett Blaylock, Zach Marchant, MacKenzie Marchant and Jami Morgan.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hembree Mercy Cancer Center, 7301 Rogers Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72903.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Crematory of Fayetteville.

Katherine Johnson
HEAVENER — Katherine Bulgin Johnson, 93, of Heavener died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Heavener. She was born Dec. 25, 1911, in Poteau. She was a retired hospital administrator and the widow of Jack Johnson.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home at Poteau.
She is survived by two stepsons, Jim Johnson and Joe Johnson, both of Heavener.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the Presbyterian Church in Church.

Dale Powell
STIGLER — Dale A. Powell, 84, of Stigler died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in Stigler. He was the widower of his first and second wives, Helen and Maria.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Keota City Cemetery.
He is survived by six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be great-nephews.

Margaret Coleman
HEAVENER — Margaret Ada Coleman, 72, of Heavener died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Heavener. She was born march 1, 1932, in San Francisco. She worked for San Diego County as a transcriber.
There are no services planned at this time. Cremation under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Manlove of Heavener and Bonita Coleman of San Diego; three sisters, Marie Baril of Santa Clara, Calif., Patricia Coleman and Colleen Reisner, both of San Francisco; and five grandchildren.

Fay Passmore
MULDROW — Fay Passmore, 82, of Muldrow died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and the widow of Thomas Passmore.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow.
She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Mayner and Irene Manry, both of Muldrow; two sons, James Passmore of Roland and Jabe Passmore of Muldrow; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Lynn and Ethard Smith, Barron Thompson, Glen Czarnikow, Pat O’Bryan and Roger Cates.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Thelma Shaw
HEAVENER — Thelma Vincent Shaw, 84, of Heavener died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Poteau. She was a longtime resident of the area and a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Bokoshe under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by a daughter, Lois Burton of Enid, Okla.; a son, Clarence Vincent of Heavener; two sisters, Lorene Clay and Loucell Murdym both of Enid; two brothers, Arley Horne of Dustin, Okla., and Harley Horne of Altus, Okla.; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Daniel Yandell
HEAVENER — Daniel B. Yandell, 72, of Heavener died Sunday, June 18, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Heavener and a member of the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Heavener with burial at Hontubby Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; two daughters, Dianah Breeding and Reba Rowland, both of Heavener; two sons, Larry and Joey, both of Heavener; two sisters, Lorene Hudson of Live Oak, Calif. and Ann Mannies of Waldron; one brother, Charles of Heavener; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Howard Lovett
ARKOMA — Howard Lovett, 92, of Arkoma died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a carpenter, an Army veteran of World War II and attended First Baptist Church in Arkoma.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Stiles of Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Retha Sparrow of Lewisville and Faye Carter of Arkoma; and one grandchild.
