PLUNKETTVILLE, Okla. — Vera “Margie” McLain, 80, of Plunkettville died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005. She was born June 12, 1924, in Watson, Okla. She was a hairdresser and had her shop, Margie’s, in her home and was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene in Cove.
Funeral was held Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene in Cove with burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; and a brother, Howard Davis of Plunkettville, Okla.
Pallbearers were Leon Fisk, Clyde Rife, Harold Smith, Bob Tipton and Ikie DePriest.

Robert Sisco
MASON CITY, Tenn. — Robert Sisco, 66, of Mason, Tenn., formerly of Ponca City, Okla., died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Mason. He was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Shady Point. He was a farmer, an Army veteran, a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Ponca City, and a lifetime member of the DAV.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Shady Point Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Diana Sisco and Donna Farr, both of Katy, Texas; a son, Bobby Sisco of Ponca City; two stepchildren, Richard Daugherty of Atlanta and Brian Daugherty of Camden, Tenn.; four sisters, Inola Stewart of Wichita, Kan., Elaine Guinn of Ponca City, Diane McVay of Oklahoma, and Lorainne Sanders of Wetumka, Okla.; two brothers, Johnny Sisco of Red Rock, Okla., and Paul Sisco of Tulsa; and three grandchildren.

Don Mowdy
SALLISAW — Don Mowdy, 60, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, in Tulsa. He was born Feb. 7, 1944, in Cloudy, Okla. He was a self-employed construction worker, a Protestant, a graduate of Sallisaw High School, and the widower of Dyhana Mowdy.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Brushy Cemetery north of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by four daughters, Sandra of Arkansas, Shelly Barnes and Dawna Mefford, both of Sallisaw, and Theresa Bush of Fort Gibson, Okla.; a son, Daniel Mowdy of the home; three brothers, Melton and Gene Mowdy, both of Texas, and Ray Mowdy of Italy; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Edith Brown
SALLISAW — Edith R. Brown, 95, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, in Fort Smith. She was the widow of Clarence Brown.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Flavia Elliott of Sallisaw; a brother, Jack Hilderbrand of Riverside, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Oren Harrison
POTEAU — Oren E. Harrison, 79, of Poteau died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Hartford. He was an Army veteran of World War II where he was stationed in England, France and Germany, was retired from the grocery business after 39 years at Poteau Food Market.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
He is survived by his wife, Wilcie; a daughter, Joyce Gallant of Poteau; a son, Kenneth Harrison of Van Buren; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Welton, Rossi and Gene Christenberry, Don Harmon, Clifford Weaver and James Burgess.

Nellie Bonner
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Nellie Nadine Bonner, 83, of Bartlesville, Okla., formerly of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005. She was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Ozark. She worked for the gas company in Fort Smith and was the widow of Fay Bonner.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Bartlesville with burial at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Ozark.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Taylor of Bartlesville, Okla. and Janice Sykes of Royce City, Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

Olen Ritter
KEOTA, Okla. — Olen “George” Ritter, 84, of Keota died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, in Pocola. He served in the CC Camp.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Old Cache Cemetery in Keota under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Elisassaras of Madera, Calif.; a son, Edward Ritter of Choctaw, Okla.; a sister, Letha Smith of Keota; a brother, Nolen Ritter of Keota; and several grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

Melvin Farmer
SALLISAW — Melvin C. Farmer, 83, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, in Sallisaw. He was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Sequoyah County. He was retired from Oklahoma Department of Transportation after 16 years, a Baptist, a 1939 graduate of Sallisaw High School, and the widower of Goldia Farmer.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by a son, Mike Farmer of Sallisaw; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Lesley, James, Cherry and George Farmer, Dr. Bert Corley and Cleon Harrell.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kikue Blevins
SALLISAW — Kikue Ushigima Blevins, 76, of Sallisaw, died Thursday, June 21, 2001 in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and of the Noml Ho Ling Gaykill Neech Lan Sho Shu Buddhist Faith.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Maple Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by one daughter, Akume Mokami of Osaka, Japan; and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 3 to 9 p.m. today.

Nettie Harvey
SALLISAW — Nettie Mae Harvey, 86, of Sallisaw died Thursday, June 21, 2001 in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness Faith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Walters of Sallisaw; two sons, Wallace Harvey of Sallisaw and Ronald Harvey of Sperry, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 15 grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Jimmy Eskew, Michael Eskew, Ronny Harvey, Ricky Harvey, Calvin Harvey and Steve Harvey.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lavelle Capps
COMMERCE, TEXAS — Lavelle Capps, 97, of Commerce, Texas, formerly of Sallisaw, died Monday, June 18, 2001, in Commerce. She was the retired co-owner and operator of Capps Department Store and a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and the widow of Oscar Capps.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by two daughters, Billie Mills of Commerce ad Iva Young of Kerkville, Texas; a son, Dr. Emerson Capps of Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Shaun and Darrell Young, Laura Angel, Mellissa Oertel, and Matthew and Michael Capps. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will visit with friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw.

Michael David Lasiter
Michael David Lasiter, 52, of Spiro died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was a retired clerk.
His is survived by his wife, Deborah of the home; a daughter, Tabitha Nicole Lasiter of the home; a son, David Nicholas Lasiter of the home; his father, Othel Lasiter of Mulberry; and three brothers, Wayne and Dennis Lasiter, both of Mulberry, and Bruce Lasiter of Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by a son, Jody Lasiter; and his mother, Patsy Lasiter.
There will be a family visitation in the Chapel of Edwards Funeral on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be no formal funeral service. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Edith Martin
SALLISAW — Edith M. Martin, 98, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in Sallisaw. She was born June 6, 1906, in Spaulding, Okla. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, a Baptist and the widow of Raymond Martin.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Holdenville City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a son, Bill Denney of Sallisaw; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lois Evans
WALDRON — Lois J. Evans, 98, of Waldron died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and the widow the Rev. W.R. Evans.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Waldron Assembly of God with burial at Lamb Cemetery in Waldron under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
Pallbearers will be Paul Gathright, Wayne Langley, Edwin Hutchens, Leon Dotson, David Byers and Kent Shupert.
The body may be viewed 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
