HOWE — William Nicholas Hopkins, 83, of Howe died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Poteau. He was born March 2, 1921, in Boswell, Okla. He served in the Air Force 21 years.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Grace Manor Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Poteau with burial at Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore, Okla.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; four daughters, Nyala Wristen of Victorville, Calif., Sandra Busonick and Nancy Coffey, both of Poteau and Cynthia Hopkins of Panama; a son, Stanley Hopkins of Howe; two sisters, Joyce McMinn of Lone Grove, Okla., and Sue Stroud of Houston; two brothers, Henry Hopkins of Boswell, Okla., and Tommy Hopkins of Woodward, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lorraine Denton
WALDRON — Lorraine Era Denton, 83, of Waldron died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church and the widow of Hildon Denton.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Waldron First Baptist Church with burial at Sehorn Cemetery in Winfield under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Sundve of Mount Ida; a son, Howard Denton of Houston; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Hansen, Gary Gilliam, J.D. Graham, W.R. and Larry Rice and Berry Birkhead.

Mary Hunt
STOCKTON, Calif. — Mary Dale Hunt, 93, of Stockton, Calif., formerly of Vian, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in Stockton. She was the widow of Ezra Martin, Cecil Merriott and Jess Hunt.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Garden of Memories in Vian under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by three daughters, Lou Mattox and Annice Reynolds, both of Sallisaw, and Billie McBride of Tulsa; a son, Warner Merriott of Stockton, Calif.; a brother, Harold Sells of Longview, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sallisaw Methodist Church Building Fund, 124 S. Wheeler, Sallisaw, OK 74955.

Dora Green
POTEAU — Dora F. Green, 60, of Poteau died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1944 in Lebanon, Mo. She was a homemaker.
The body was cremated under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; two daughters, Donnita Thornburg of Norman, Okla., and Jeanette Sheff of South Central, Okla.; a son, Bill Cossey of Boston; three sisters; and several grandchildren.

Donald Powers
ROLAND — Donald J. Powers, 75, of Roland died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in Fort Smith. He delivered papers for 20 years with Southwest Times Record.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Black Jack Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Carol Billingsley of Sallisaw and Deborah Barter of Fort Smith; three sons, Larry and Calvin Powers, both of Roland, and Michael Powers of Cowlington, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

James Marks Sr.
ARKOMA — James W. Marks Sr., 76, of Arkoma died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Spenser, W.Va. He was retired from engineering and maintenance at Sparks Regional Medical Center, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was nondenominational.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland, with honor guard provided by VFW Post No. 8384 of Muldrow.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three daughters, Bonnie Bowers, Marilyn Buelow and Minnie Gordon, all of Fort Smith; three sons, James Marks Jr. of Fort Smith, Ronnie and Donnie Nunn, both of Arkoma; a sister in West Virginia; two brothers in West Virginia; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

John Campbell
POTEAU — John Russell “Jacky” Campbell, 36, of Poteau died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Poteau. He was born Dec. 28, 1967, in Phoenix.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his parents, John and Jeanette Campbell of Mayer, Ariz.; four sisters, Darlene Bennett of Chicago, Sherry Klocko of Mayer, Ariz., Karen DeFrange of Krebs, Okla., and Nickie Bray of Poteau; three brothers, Tom Locascio of LaMesa, Calif., Chris Locascio of West Bend, Wis., and John Campbell of Mayer Ariz.

Floyd Self
Floyd E. Self, 50, of Sallisaw died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, in Sallisaw. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and was a volunteer for the Mental Health Community Center in Sallisaw.
Graveside service was Friday at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; a sister, Isabelle Belcher of Roland; and three brothers, Frank Fain of Dora, Jerry Self of Sallisaw and Wesley Self of Roland.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Self, Ray Graves, Billy Johnson, Jim Fain, Darrell Miller and Arlis Casey.

Jack Stout
PORUM, Okla. — Jack D. Stout, 81, of Porum, Okla., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, in Muskogee, Okla. He served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific Theater.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Porum First Baptist Church with burial at Coleman Cemetery in Porum under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; a daughter, Jacque Ray of Porum; two sons, Glenn Stout of Beggs, Okla., and Rick Stout of Enfield, Conn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kylan, Wade and Tommy Stout, Joshua Taylor, Harold Parsons and Curtis Rash.

Sylvia Garrison
MULDROW — Sylvia J. Garrison, 48, of Muldrow died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, in Muldrow. She was born June 7, 1956, in Little Rock. She was an insurance clerk at Sparks Regional Medical Center and a Baptist.
The body was cremated under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest; two sons, Ira Hager of Biloxi, Miss., and Ian Hager of Tennessee; and a brother, Eddie Weir of Biloxi, Miss.

Edith Wells
VIAN — Edith Gilbert Wells, 65, of Vian died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in Vian. She was a member of Reminant Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the widow of Jack Wells.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Reminant Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints with burial at Box Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosalie Snyder of Howe; a sister, Norma Wesnidge of Newcastle, Okla.; and one grandchild.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.

J.T. Crotts
LAMAR — J.T. Crotts, 69, of Lamar died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Clarksville. He was born July 7, 1935, in Lamar. He was a retired construction worker.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Lamar Cemetery in Lamar.
He survived by a daughter, Kelia Moore of Lamar; two sons, Tanif Crotts of Clarksville and James Crotts of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Morgan Richards
VIAN — Morgan O. Richards, 95, of Vian died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Vian. He was born Aug. 16, 1909, in Lamar. He was retired from Tenkiller State Park maintenance for the state ofOklahoma, a member of Vian Baptist Church and the widower of Beulah Richards.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Vian Baptist Church with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by four daughters, Virginia Smith of Rockwall, Texas, Bobbie Rasmussen of Missoula, Mont., Betty Graham of Coyle, Okla., and Mary Lawson of Vian; two sons, Allen Richards of Rapid City, S.D., and Donald Richards of Vian; two sisters, Vera Rush of San Jose, Calif., and Carrie Jackson of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, John Richards of Salinas, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Darkasha Gaston
POTEAU — Darkasha “Shea” Smith Gaston, 68, of Poteau died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Poteau. She was born March 16, 1936, in Greenbrier. She was retired beauty shop owner and operator, a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Lory Smith.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy; three daughters, Beverly Tate, Marilyn Currens and Lora Vishkoff, all of Poteau; two sons, John Remy and Greg Smith, both of Poteau; two stepdaughters, Gail Holt of Cathlemet, Wash., and Deborah Ashley of Spiro; three stepsons, L.H. Smith Jr. and Terry Smith, both of Poteau, and Jimmy Gaston Jr. of Ardmore; two sisters, Dark Ritchie of Poteau and Bonnie Kirkland of Calhoun, Okla.; a brother, John Daley of Georgia; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burl Grubbs
STIGLER — Burl F. Grubbs, 87, of Stigler died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005. He was a veteran of the Army and served in World War II; he worked with P.S.O. in McAlester and in Stigler, and retired as manager in 1978.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at King & Shearwood Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler with burial at Stigler Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen; two daughters, Mary Hammock of Pryor, Okla., and Pat Nichols of Allen, Texas; three sons, Roger Grubbs of Fort Smith, Rick Grubbs of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Tim Grubbs of Buford, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Standridge of Tulsa, Nina Williams of McAlester, Okla., and Joy Dillon of Savanna, Okla.; a brother, Dude Lindley of McAlester, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick, Roger and Tim Grubbs, Court Nichols, Archie and Mike Hammock.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
