Tom Bronson
ROLAND — Tom Bronson, 64, of Roland died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Roland. He was born April 11, 1940, in Lucein, Okla. He was retired after 20 years in the Navy and 15 years with the U.S. Post Office in Fort Smith. He was a Protestant, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a lifetime member of the Muldrow VFW Post No. 8384, and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 208 and other Fraternal Order of the Eagles Clubs in Arkansas and Oklahoma; he currently served as state vice president in Arkansas.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland.
He is survived by his wife, Jannie; two daughters, Teri Bronson of Virginia Beach, Va., and Margaret Shoemaker of Corpus Christi, Texas; six sons, Leslie, Jeff and Tony Bronson, all of Meeker, Okla., Thomas Bronson of Virginia Beach, Va., James Shoemaker and Grant Lyles, both of Orange Grove, Texas; three sisters, Wanda Canel of Park Hill, Ala., Juanita Fugatt of Prague, Okla., and Bonnie Horton of Midwest City, Okla.; two brothers, James Bronson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robert Bronson of Texas; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Navy Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
The body may be viewed 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas FOE State Project for Cancer, c/o Don Clark, 100 Edgewood No. 2512, Maumelle, AR 72113.

Curtis Eugene Weddle Jr.
The family would like to invite all friends, family, co-workers and those lives he touched to the services of Curtis Eugene Weddle Jr. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Mr. Weddle was born July 28, 1928, in Rock Creek, Mo., the son of Curtis Eugene Weddle Sr. and Ludema Palmer Weddle. He was married to Patsy Ruth McLemore on April 8, 1955, in McAlester, Okla. He passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in Fort Smith after attaining the age of 76 years, 6 months and 1 day.
Mr. Weddle was a 1955 graduate of Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, where he received his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and was commander of the Corps of Cadets. He received his master of science in civil engineering from Missouri School of Mines in 1957, and was a member of Tau Beta Phi and Chi Epsilon honorary engineering fraternities.
A naval aviator in the Navy during World War II, he was a member of the Army ROTC, a Boy Scout leader from 1966 to 1984 and recipient of a Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of the Church of Christ and chairman of the Eastern Oklahoma library board.
Mr. Weddle was project engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1957 to 1994. He was also a professor of civil engineering and a registered professional engineer.
Survivors are: wife, Pat of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Weddle III and Glenda Kay of Magnolia, Texas, and Dr. John Palmer Weddle and Bobbie Jean of Muldrow; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Christine Weddle Powell and Dr. Kenneth Craig Powell of Siloam Springs; three grandchildren, Curtis Eugene Weddle IV, Abigail Lynn Weddle, and Grace Anne Weddle; one sister, Virginia Weddle of Missouri; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Vernon Arthur, Carol “Cook,” and Keith Weddle.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Wilson, Bill Mills, Bill Kilpatrick, Frank Weatherford, Bob Cox and Clifford Meece.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library, 101 E. Cherokee, Sallisaw, OK 74955.

LZ Harber
STIGLER — LZ Harber, 75, of Stigler died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, in Stigler. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and worked as a mechanic.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Trainer of Oklahoma City; a son, Larry McCloud of Houston; two brothers, Thurman Harber of Monroe, Okla., and Allen Harber of Eufaula, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lavisa Hicks
POTEAU — Lavisa Howery Hicks, 84, of Poteau died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in Poteau. She was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Poteau. She was a retired teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Poteau and the LeFlore County/Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, a past member of the Oklahoma Education Association and the National Education Association and a longtime member of Alpha Delta Kappa. She was the widow of J.C. Hicks.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Blair of Poteau and Betty Perry of Fort Smith; three sons, Jay and Jerry Hicks, both of Cameron, and John Hicks of Collierville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Warren and Jim Glenn, Frank Howery, Jim Hurst, Neil Brannon and B.J. Haneline.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruby Mathews
NICUT, Okla. — Ruby B. Mathews, 82, of Nicut died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Nicut. She was the widow of Paul Mathews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lee’s Creek Assembly of God with burial at Seabolt Cemetery in Nicut under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Feldblum of Naples, Fla., and Sharon Hanna and Janice Williams, both of Muldrow; three sons, Tommy, Donald and Phillip Mathews, all of Muldrow; 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday.

Edgar Carry
STIGLER, Okla. — Edgar C. Carry, 94, of Stigler died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in his home. He was raised and educated in Stigler and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church with burial at Garland Cemetery in Stigler under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Carry of Stigler; a daughter, Sue Crase of Stigler; two sons, Ramsey Carry of Stigler and Charles Carry of Keota, Okla.; a sister, Mamie Allen of Keota; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Carry, Dean and Shane Crase, Jonathan Montgomery, Jerrid Stephenson and Brian Carry.
The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Katherine Godfrey
LAMAR — Katherine Godfrey, 80, of Lamar, formerly of Auburndale, Fla., died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, in a Little Rock hospital. She was a sales clerk, a member of the First Baptist Church of Russellville and the widow of Wyatt Godfrey.
Funeral will be 7 p.m. today at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville. Another service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Auburndale. Burial will be at Auburndale Memorial Park in Auburndale.
She is survived by four sisters, Anna Ehlers of Florida and Florence and Sophie Kobe and Lee Harlow, all of California; and a brother, Peter Groza of California.
The body may be viewed from 6 to 7 p.m. today.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today.

Larry Dean Ringgold
Larry Dean Ringgold, 42, of Gans died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was born Nov. 17, 1962, in Fort Smith. He worked in the management department at Mid-Continent Concrete, was of the Assembly of God faith, and graduated from Gans High School.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Gans Assembly of God with burial at Gans Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.
He is survived by special friend Denette Rose of Smithville; a daughter, Tiffany Ringgold of Fort Smith; a son, Kolton Dean Ringgold of Gans; his parents, Larry and Bonnie Ringgold of Gans and Louise and Butch Mitchell of Roland; two sisters, Carolyn Sport and her husband, Joey, of Roland and Michelle Herndon of Sorento, Ill.; three brothers, Jimmy Del Ringgold of Tulsa, Justin Todd Ringgold and Ernie Brad Ringgold, both of Gans; maternal grandmother, Geneva Hurst of Muldrow; paternal grandmother, Bernice Rau of Gans; one granddaughter, Falon Eagle of Fort Smith; three nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Dale Toon and Ladale Toon, Larry Lowe, Mark Owens, Doug Rose and Kelvin Keiss. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley White, Darron Harrison, Dale Henry, Shawn Ellis, Brian Shamblin, Jeremy Victory, Roger Fargo, Philip and Danny Sebo, Joey Sport and Jennifer Hendricks.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to noon today at Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow.

Ida Ree LaBoth
Ida Ree LaBoth, of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, in Tulsa at the age of 70. She was a woman of incredible faith, love and strength, and she will be greatly missed. She was a a member of Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church, the Queen Esther Chapter No. 265 of the Order of the Eastern Star for which she served as the chaplain, and the CJ Jamison Golden Circle No. 251.
Services will be held privately at the U.S. National Cemetery on Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Marcell LaBooth Jr.; her daughters, Linda Williams of Tulsa, Rosa Gipson (Dewayne) of Fort Smith, Toietta Dixon (Michael) of Charlotte, N.C., and Marcia Keesee (Dewan) of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two brothers, R.B. Williams of Fort Smith and Willis Williams (Gladys) of Meridian, Miss.; grandsons, Dwayne Gipson Jr., Jamar Gipson, Noah Dixon and Jayden Keesee; two great-granddaughters; and two nieces and a nephew; numerous godchildren, cousins and friends.
Condolences may be sent to the LaBooth family at 4113 N. Oak Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

I.J. “Jay” Wright
I.J. “Jay” Wright, 81, of Spiro died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Pocola. He was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Dyer to Tom and Rosie (Strange) Wright. He was a retired carpenter, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Poteau Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Rosie (Strange) Wright; three sisters, Rena Ledbetter, Hazel Egeleston and Mabel Hobbs; and three brothers, Albert, Paul and Wallace Wright.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Poteau Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Hurlocker officiating. Burial will follow at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pearl of the home; a daughter, Zeno Parker and husband Gary of Spiro; a son, Phillip Wright and wife Kala of Pocola; six grandchildren, Allen and Glenn Wright, both of Pocola, Carry Whittaker of Hackett, Gerald Underwood II of Fort Smith, Mackenzee Rogers of Spiro, and Angie Osborn of Poteau; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and friend Shawn Richardson. Honorary pallbearer will be Roy Dix.
Military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4446 of Stigler.

Carl Barnett
SPIRO — Carl David Barnett, 71, of Spiro died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired first sergeant in the Army, a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars and a special weapons instructor. He also was retired from Fort Chaffee.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Wanda Coker of Fort Smith and Linda Pelton and Christina Harper, both of Spiro; two sons, Charles and Roger Barnett, both of Spiro; his mother, Laora Barnett of Greenwood; three sisters, Leta Stanley and Margaret Mack, both of Mansfield, and Deanie Pogue of Evansville; three brothers, Elzie Barnett of Mansfield, Johnny Barnett of Waldron and Tommy Barnett of El Paso, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Heights Baptist Church, Teen Building Fund, 7701 U.S. 271, Fort Smith, AR 72903.

John Crawler
MARBLE CITY — John Kenneth Crawler, 60, of Marble City died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Stilwell, Okla. He was born July 14, 1944, in Claremore, Okla. He was retired from Global Stone in Marble City and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at House of Praise in Marble City with burial at Barber Cemetery in Barber under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; two daughters, Karen Crawler of Sallisaw and Marilyn Crawler of Marble City; two sons, David and Kenny Crawler, both of Marble City; two sisters, Helen LePhew and Liza Kinzer, both of Tulsa; a brother, Joe Crawler of Marble City; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rederico and Juan Ramos, Shawn, John, Alan and Rodney Pettit.
The body may be viewed 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
