Loreta Ann Waller
Loreta Ann Waller, 86, of Norman,
Oklahoma died Friday, February 21, 2003
in Norman. Funeral Services will be held
at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2003
at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist
Church in Norman, Oklahoma with
Reverend Phil Fenn officiating. Burial will
follow at the Nowata Memorial Cemetery
in Nowata, Oklahoma. The family will be
available to welcome family and friends
from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, February 24, 2003
at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be John Davis and
James Moore and grandsons, Jonathan Stapp, Josh Moore, Jeremy
Davis and William Waller. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
Mrs. Waller was born July 18, 1916 to H. J. and LuCreta Hill
Deardorff in Jasper, Missouri. In 1926, the family moved to the
Nowata area of Oklahoma, where Loreta attended school. She
graduated from high school in 1936 and completed her college
education at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Loreta married William A. Waller on December 29, 1939 in
Claremore, Oklahoma. She started her teaching career in Nowata and
along with her husband, Bill, taught at a number of schools
throughout the state. She moved to Norman in 1960 from Buffalo
Valley, Oklahoma. In 1960, Loreta began teaching first grade at John
Adams Elementary School in Norman. She continued to start first
graders on the road to knowledge in the same classroom for 24 years,
retiring in 1984, with a total of 42 years in teaching. She was a
lifelong Methodist, a proud fifty year member of Eastern Star and was
active in the teaching sorority, Kappa Kappa Iota.
Mrs. Waller was preceded in death by her husband, William
A. Waller and by her brother, Jerome Deardorff. She is survived by
a sister, Alma Lee Shell, of Topeka, Kansas; daughter, Sherrye Moore
and her husband, James, of Norman; sons, Billy K. Waller, of Davis
and Roger D. Waller, of Norman; daughter, Sandy Davis and her
husband, John, of Norman; step-daughter, Madella White and her
husband, David, of Sullivan, Missouri; grandchildren: Shelley Ivey,
Rebecca and Josh Moore; Jonathan Stapp, Sarah and Jeremy Davis;
Courtney, Lindsey, William, Ashley, Hayley and Kelsey Waller;
great-grandchildren: Shawney and Brandon Ivey; Paige Moore and
Braedon Edwards.

Connie Ruth Wood
Connie Ruth Wood, 62, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Friday, February 7, 2003, in
Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be
held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2003
at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis, Oklahoma,
with Rev. Richard Stephens officiating.
Pallbearers will be Danny Wood, Toby Thomas,
Jared Jansing, Danny Wood II, Taylor Everett,
Brandy Johnson and Boone Johnson. Honorary
Bearer will be Greg Jansing. Services are under
the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Wood was born July 12, 1940 in Woodland, Oklahoma,
to Alton and Vera Vivian Stephens Johnson. She graduated from
high school in Woodland, OK. Connie married Douglas “Woody”
Wood in 1957. They moved to Ratliff City, Oklahoma and came to
Norman in 1969 from Edmond. She was a member of Immanuel
Baptist Church in Norman.
Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents and
husband, Douglas “Woody” Wood. Survivors include a son, Danny
Wood and wife, Rhonda, of Norman; two daughters, Teresa Thomas
of Norman and Kellye West of Norman; two brothers, Terry Johnson
and wife, Carolyn, of Sulphur, OK and Steve Johnson and wife,
Becky, of Sulphur, OK; an aunt, Lula Schilling, of Davis, OK; and six
grandchildren, Andrea Wood, Bobbie Everett, Danny Wood II, Toby
Thomas, Jared Jansing and Jenny Jansing.

Harvey S. Bohn
Harvey S. Bohn, 84, of Norman, Oklahoma
died Saturday, January 10, 2003 in
Norman. Funeral Services will be held at
10:00 a.m., Monday, January 13, 2003 at
the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman, with Chaplin Harry Smith
officiating. Interment will follow at the
Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in
Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman.
Mr. Bohn was born April 15, 1918 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to James
W. and Anna Mazich Bohn. He was a World War II Veteran, serving
with the 104th U. S. Naval Construction Battalion in the S. W. Pacific
Islands. He was a civilian employee of Olmstead Air Force Base in
Middletown, Pennsylvania until it closed in 1967 and he transferred
to Tinker Air Force Base. Harvey retired in 1974 as Chief of
Production Control Branch, Electronics and Armament Division after
thirty three years of service. He was a Lutheran. He enjoyed
woodworking, travel and his family.
Mr. Bohn was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his
wife of 59 years, Anna; daughters, Catherine Witten and husband,
Ted of Norman, Oklahoma and Patricia Choate and husband, Rick of
Mission, Texas; grandchildren, Anne Shaffer and husband, Jim, of
Broken Arrow, Beth Witten of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Andy, Danny and
Jennifer Choate of Mission, Texas and one great-grandson, Brandon
Shaffer of Broken Arrow; sisters, Madaline Manfred, Sophia
Shughart, Joyce Williams and husband, Lew, Joanne Kimmel and
husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Paul Mazich and wife, Gloria;
sister-in-law, Alice Mazich, all of Norman.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Norman or the
American Diabetes Association.

Michael David Fitzgerald
Michael David Fitzgerald, 51, of Norman, died Saturday,
January 4, 2002 in Norman, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will be
held at 3:00p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at the Havenbrook
Funeral Home Chapel in Norman, with Mr. John Gifford officiating.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born May 17, 1951 in Edmond, Oklahoma
to Tom and Vella Mae Moore Fitzgerald. He grew up in Ardmore,
Oklahoma where he was raised by his grandmother, the late, Minnie
Dillard Franklin. He attended Ardmore Public Schools and also
attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Afterward,
he attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where he studied
Special Education and received Summa Cum Laude and was a
member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Michael married Carolyn
Pruitt on March 27, 1970 in Gainsville, Texas. He moved to Norman
form Ardmore in 1975. He played in the band “Xcentrix”, as lead
guitarist, was a computer consultant and an oil and gas broker.
Mr. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by his father-in-law,
Daniel Byrd Pruitt. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the home;
one son Michael Cord Fitzgerald and fiancee, Joanne Reed, of
Norman, Oklahoma; one daughter, Carrie Mechelle Leonard and
husband, Jason of Norman, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Corbin
James Leonard and Colin Jake Leonard of Norman, Oklahoma and
mother-in-law, Mary Pruitt of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Naomi “Nonny” Hyde
Naomi “Nonny” Hyde, 84, of
Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday, January
26, 2004, in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M.,
Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at
Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman with Reverend Catherine Bennett
and Chaplain Harry Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F
Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Hyde was born June 28, 1919 in Mound City,
Kansas, to Samuel and Olive Gertrude (Walters) Burkhead. She
married Hugh Hyde on November 1, 1951 in Kansas City,
Missouri. They moved to Norman in 1992 from Warwick,
Rhode Island.
Mrs. Hyde was preceded in death by her parents, four
brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her husband, Hugh,
of the home; son, Randy Hyde and wife, Kay of Fairless Hills,
PA; two daughters, Candace Clements of New York City, NY
and Jennifer Starr and husband, Greg, of Sugarland, TX; niece,
Barbara Young and husband, L.C., of Norman, OK; nephew,
L.A. “Butch” Dougherty of Maui, Hawaii; sister-in-law, Polly
Burkhead and her son, Sam Burkhead of Norman, OK; and six
grandchildren, Caitlin, Meghan and Kelly Hyde, Katherine,
Blake and Josh Starr.
