Vashti Cross

Vashti Cross, 73, Altus, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the First Church of God In Christ with Elder Robert Green officiating. Burial will follow services in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born on November 8, 1932 in Altus, Oklahoma to Herman and Celestine (Daggett) Wheeler. She attended Lincoln School in Altus. She married William Copeland and he preceded her in death in 2003. She married Rev. Bert Cross in 1962 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She worked in several restaurants and cafes in Dallas for about 9 years. She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ for many years. She was a very devoted Christian and very well known in the community. Her hobbies included baking, sewing, jigsaw puzzles and fishing. She was the President of the sewing circle at church and was on the Usher Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands William Copeland, Rev. Bert Cross and her sister Eva Mae Gibson. She is survived by six children; four sons and two daughters; Isophene Allen, William Copeland, Jr., Todella Copeland, Vicki Steel, Gayland Copeland, Norris Copeland; a sister Herlene Lewis; an aunt Dorothy Jackson; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The Cross Family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial tributes may be made @ www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.

Hubert Wayne Crowley

Hubert Wayne Crowley, 65, Altus, passed away peacefully at his sisters home surrounded by all his family and friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2007. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at the Tipton Cemetery.

He was born on August 25, 1941 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Randall Hugh “Choc” and Nola Lee (Farrar) Crowley. He attended Tipton Public School and he served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He loved farming, raising cattle, running a salvage business, visiting with friends and neighbors. He also loved his dog, Jake.

Hubert was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Lois Farrar and Iva Grace (Frazier) Farrar, Julius Ellsworth Crowley and Ethyl Zurette Phillips Crowley. Several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his daughter Misty Shea (Crowley) Posas and her husband Gilbert of Hobart, OK; three stepsons, Keith Miller and wife Susan of Cold Springs/ Roosevelt, OK, Dwayne Miller of Cold Springs/ Roosevelt, OK, and Junior Miller and wife Elizabeth of Mustang, OK; his parents R.H. and Nola Lee Crowley of Altus, OK, and a sister, Dianne Coe and husband Eddie of Altus, OK; grandchildren, Tyler Crowley, A.J. and Marco Posas, Shenoah, Savannah, Patrick, and Sooner Miller, Amber and Dusty Miller, Aaron, Ashley, Bobby Joe and Christie Miller; Great-grandchildren, Trinity and Mason . One niece, Kelly Coe and children Kyle and Taryn, one nephew, Bryan Coe and wife Michelle and children Jordan Ramirez.

Randall "Choc" Hugh Crowley

Randall Hugh Crowley (known to many as Choc) went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday morning November 2, 2008 at his home in Altus, OK.

He was born in Nocona, TX, to Julius Elzworth and Ethel Zurerre (Phillps) Crowley on February 20, 1917.

Randall and Nola Lee Farrar were married in Altus, OK on July 5, 1938. Four years later they were blessed with the birth of their first child, a son, Hubert Wayne Crowley. Nine years later they were blessed with their second child, Dianna L. Crowley.

In July of this year they celebrated seventy wonderful years together.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Tipton. He served on several committee’s and as a greeter for many years. He remained an active member of the church until he moved to Altus.

Randall began his married life farming around the Snyder area. In 1948, he moved his family to Tipton. He and Nola made their home there until moving to Altus in 2005 to be closer to their children. When they moved to Tipton he accepted a position with Tillman County District One in Tipton. He operated a road grader for 32 years before retiring in 1980. Although he retired he didn’t stop working. He and his son farmed and raised cattle in and around the Friendship area. After his son’s death, he still enjoyed going to the farm watching the cattle graze and new calves being born.

He loved life and always had a positive attitude. Family was very important to him.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman until his latter years when his eyesight began to fail him. He taught his son, grandson, and great-grandson the pleasures of hunting and fishing.

Randall was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Selma Holley, Ona Haines, and Lela Frysinger and one brother, Avery Crowley. His pride and joy, his son, Hubert W. Crowley.

He leaves behind his wife, Nola Lee, of the home, his daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Eddie Coe of Altus, his youngest brother, Elton Crowley of Mississippi, granddaughter Kelly Coe, Altus, great- grandson Kyle Evan Coe, who was recently deployed to Iraq and wife Shannon of Altus, and great- granddaughter Taryn Kelli Lindsey, Midwest City.

His only grandson, Bryan Coe and wife Michelle, Altus and son Jordan Ramirez, and granddaughter Misty Crowley-Posas and husband Gilbert of Hobart. Great-grandsons Tyler Dillon Crowley, A.j. and Marco Posas.

Randall will miss the birth of his great -great -grandchild that is to be born in December 2008.

Although he is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior, he will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

Services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 6, at Kincannon Funeral Home with Brother Harold Gaches and Brother Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will take place at the Tipton Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. The Crowley Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Kincannon Funeral Home.

Elwanda Cotney-Jennings

Elwanda Cotney-Jennings, 78, long time Altus resident, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ with Tom Bailey officiating. Funeral and cremation services are being provided by Kincannon Funeral Home.

Elwanda was born on June 21, 1929 to Herbert and Willie (Brown) Street in Washita County, Oklahoma. She graduated from Retrop High School in 1947. She married John Cotney in May of 1949 at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus. He preceded her in death in November of 1978. She worked for Southwestern Bell for over 30 years retiring in 1980. She married Sam Jennings in June of 1994 at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus. He preceded her in death in March of 1999. She donated to many charities including Tipton’s Children’s Home and the Westview Boy’s Home. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands John Cotney and Sam Jennings and a brother Jim Street.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Box and husband Mark of Mangum, Ok; Annette Bennight and husband Mark of Altus; two sons, Mark Cotney and wife Carol of Tampa, Fl.; Kent Cotney of Altus; eight grandchildren, Rhett Box and wife Leslie of Anna, Tx; Ryan Box and wife Adreanne of Davis, Ok; Reade Box and wife Sara of Mangum, Ok; Angela and Caylee Cotney of Tampa, Fl.; Lexie Cotney of Altus; Jeremy Bennight and wife Josey of Elk City, Ok; Lindsey Bennight of Altus; eight great grandchildren and many friends.

Hazel Jepsen

Hazel Jepsen, 89, Altus, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at English Village Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15 / 16 2006 at the Victory Cemetery with Les Banks officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born on June 18, 1917 near Victory in Jackson County, Oklahoma to John J. and Annie Mae (Weaver) Bush. She graduated from Victory High School in 1935. She married Hans Jepsen II in 1946 in California. She lived most of her life on the family farm a half mile south of the Olustee Y off of highway 62 West of Altus. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Laneta, Beulah, Maude and Rebecca Trudy; five brothers, John, Jim, Harold, Tam and Ted Bush. She is survived by her son Hans “Skipper” Jepsen, III; a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Sue Bush of Corpus Christi, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Josefina Jimenez

Josefina Jimenez, 83, Altus, died Friday, November 30, 2007 at her home. Private family services will be held at a later date. She was born on June 8, 1924 in Millersview, Texas to Jose Maria and Theodosa (Castellon) Gonzales. She attended school in Millersview, Texas. She married Raul Riojas Jimenez on February 1, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Church in Del Rio, Texas. To this union ten children were born. She spent most of her time taking care of the household and her children. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, being outdoors and traveling. She also enjoyed cooking and was well known for her tamales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rafaela G. Alber; two brothers, Augustine Gonzalez and Theodore Gonzales.

She is survived by seven daughters, Syliva Rebravich and husband Art of California; Mary Ann Linares and husband John of Altus, Ok; Margarita Sequera and husband Ernesto of Abilene, Tx; Patsy Henry of Altus, Ok; Grace Lebron and husband Frank of San Antonio, Tx; Gracie Hardisty and husband Glenn of Abilene, Tx; Isabell Walker of Springfield, Mo; three sons, Raul Jiminez, Jr. and wife Val of Altus, Ok; Joe Jimenez and wife Terri of Oklahoma City, Ok; Edward Jimenez of Altus, Ok; ex-daughter-in-law, Dominga Jimenez of Altus, Ok; twenty one grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many friends. John T. “Jay” Johnston

John T. “Jay” Johnston, 86, Elmer, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Elmer United Methodist Church with Lynn Rudd officiating.

John T. Johnston was born on September 20, 1920 in Portales, New Mexico, to George Edwin and Lillie Myrtle (Martin) Johnston. He graduated from Portales High School. In the 1960’s he designed the front nine holes of the Alto Golf and Country Club in Ruidoso, New Mexico. In the 1970’s he was Mayor of Capitan, New Mexico and was instrumental in getting Smokey The Bear returned to the Lincoln National Forest from Washington. He was a self-employed trucker for many years. He was a member of the Elmer United Methodist Church and the Yeldell Masonic Lodge #196 where he was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rites Mason. John loved working in his pecan orchard, working in his garden, fishing anytime he got the chance and visiting with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy; son, Duane; five brothers; Edwin, Bill, Woody, Jim and Bobby, and one grandson, August Duane.

John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Glenda Johnston of Elmer, Oklahoma; one grandson, Bobby Johnston of Midwest City, Ok; granddaughter, Desiree and husband Daryl Deike of Alvarado, Texas; granddaughter Dorothy and husband Stanley Young of Arlington, Texas; four step-grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Ralph D. Jones

Ralph D. Jones, 84, Eldorado, died Monday, May 1, 2006. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Eldorado Cemetery with Rev. Pete Wylie officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

He was born on September 16, 1921 to Arthur L. and Sue (Daniel) Jones in Eldorado, Oklahoma. He graduated from Eldorado High School. He married Sybil Cude on August 16, 1940. He married Hazel L. Farmer on August 5, 1982 in Altus, Oklahoma. He farmed all his life on the family farm Southwest of Eldorado. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldorado. He enjoyed reading, farming and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Raymond and Weldon Jones; one sister Wilda and two brothers-in-law Bill Boyd and Terrell “Son” Hunter. He is survived by one daughter Karen Janelle Stroud of Amarillo, Texas; one son Darrell Wayne Jones and wife Linda of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sisters Gwen Boyd of Houston, Texas; Annetta Hunter of Quanah, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin and Melissa Stroud of Amarillo, TX; Daryl Jones of Mustang, Ok; Steve Jones and wife Rene of Mustang, Ok; Jamie Jones of Oklahoma City, Ok; six great grandchildren, Tanner and Zachary Jones; Dylan Jones; Megan Smith; Toby and Bailey Stroud and many friends. Ruby C. Jones

Ruby C. Jones, 95, of Blair, Oklahoma, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Tamarack Retirement Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born on August 15, 1912 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Andrew B. and Millie (Crowley) Howard. She attended school in Bryan County, Oklahoma. She married Hollie Jones on October 8, 1927 in Caddo, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1978. She was a homemaker who tended to her children’s needs and enjoyed working with her husband in their custom harvesting business. She was a member of the Blair First Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, especially chocolate and cocoanut pies, and was particularly noted for her extra good tasting fried chicken. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, growing flowers, working in the yard and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hollie and a brother.

She is survived by two daughters, Cleta Biddy and husband Glen of Altus, OK; Brenda Schultz and husband Al of Magnolia, TX; two sons, R.D. “Casey” Jones and wife Darlene of Blair, OK; Kenneth LaRoy Jones and wife Barbara of Moore, OK; two sisters, Hazel Naylor of Purcell, OK; Lucille Wenzel and husband Harvey of Chickasha, OK; ten grandchildren, Donita Beers and husband Mark of Blair, OK; Jenee Armstrong and husband Fred of Blair, OK; Renee Ashley of Norman, OK; Cheryl Woosley and husband Bill of Moore, OK; David Jones of Abilene, TX; Connie Barnes of Lander, WY; Tammy Beaty of Wichita Falls, TX; Steve Biddy and wife Jodie of Thomas, OK; Tonya Watkins and husband Erick of Shepherd, TX; Sheri Vargas and husband Chester of Magnolia, TX; twenty four great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren and many friends.

Marvlynn Jordan

Marvlynn Jordan, 65, Lone Wolf, OK, died Saturday April 1, 2006 at the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Memorial Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Marvlynn Winters was born August 21, 1940 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Marvin and Elizabeth Lucille (Door) Winters. She married Gary Jordan of April 16, 1989 in Denton, TX. Marvlynn loved animals, especially raising mini horses. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and growing roses.

Her parents, Marvin and Elizabeth Lucille, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Gary Jordan of Lone Wolf, OK; her daughter, Dawn Langham and husband Ron of Lone Wolf, OK; her son, Cliff Fennell of Hobart, OK; her brother, Jim Winters and wife Betty of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, April, Jason, Jesse, Elizabeth, Amanda and Daniel and three great grandchildren, Aerial, Gracie and Conner.

Nicolasa Macedo

Nicolasa Jimenez Macedo, 59, passed away, April 29, 2007 as the results of a vehicle accident, in Altus, Oklahoma. She was born, December 6, 1947, to Francisco and Maria De Jesus Macedo in Arroyo Grande, Mexico. She met and married Francisco Jimenez, to this union nine children were born. She belonged to the Iglesia Baptista Church in Altus. She was a housewife and loved to garden, ride bikes and participate any and all church activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers–in–law, Becita Vellegas, and Lidio Tavira.

Nicolasa is survived by her husband, Francisco Jimenez, of the home, five daughters, Reyna Reyes and her husband Teodoro, Flavia Lopez and her husband Oscar, Sandra Jimenez, and Oralia Jimenez all of Altus, and Isabel Jimenez of Mexico, four sons, Reverino Jimenez, and his wife Paula, Francisco Jimenez Jr., and his wife Rosario, all of Altus, OK, Eliazar Jimenez and his wife Bertha, of Tyler, TX, and Jesus Jimenez of Altus, OK, four sisters, Berna Macedo and her husband Caliche, Juana Macedo, Galo Macedo and a twin sister, Emilia Macedo all of Mexico. Twenty seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren,

Services will be held, 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 2, at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robert Fork officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus Restlawn Cemetery.
