Clifford C. “Cliff” Glover, 86, Altus, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Benton Edgar “Ed” Drury, 18, of Olustee, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 16, 2011 when a tragic auto accident near Weatherford ended his earthly life.

Susana Rodriquez Lopez

Susana Rodriquez Lopez, 80, Olustee, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Plantation Village Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.

William E. “Bill” Chronister

William E. “Bill” Chronister, 82, Altus, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Plantation Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial with Navy honors will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Bill Chronister was born to August and Effie (Yates) Chronister on September 15, 1928 in Paris, Arkansas. He married Ivy Geraldine White on November 14, 1950 at Reno, Nevada. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2010. Bill’s life was filled with service to others. He served his country in the US Navy from 1947 until 1968, when he retired. He was a fuel specialist while in the Navy and later became a civil service fireman for the US Government. He received numerous medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Good Conduct Medal with five Bronze Star Service Devices, Navy China Service Medal, United Nations Korean Service Medal, World War II Navy Occupation Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Star Service Devices, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation with Navy Frame, as well as receiving his Naval Air Crew Wings. His career took him many miles from the farm of his youth, but he never forgot his roots. His life was happily completed by his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ivy, two brothers, George and Leroy Chronister, and a sister, Margaret Loftin.

Survivors include two daughters, DeAnna Hawkey and husband, Darrin, of Altus, OK, and Christine Rideout of Florida; two sons, William E. “Bill” Chronister, II and wife, Marsha, of Greenville, CA, and Robert B. “Rob” Chronister of Altus, OK; two sisters, Vera Kinman of Texas and Lahoma Jones; five grandchildren, Cody and Nicolas Hawkey, Samantha Gustin and husband, Chris, Niome Lorah and husband, Josh, and Alexandra Rideout; and five great-grandchildren.

The Chronister family will host a visitation from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, August 29, 2011 at the funeral home.

Gilley

Faye Etta Gilley, 75, of Hobart, was born April 21, 1929 in Clay County, Mo., to Monnie Lee and Louis Huddleston. She died Aug. 3, 2004 at Hobart. She was married to Ezekiel (Bob) Gilley, he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Hobart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; one daughter, Cora and two sons, Jimmy and Raymond Gilley.

Gilley is survived by her sons, Wayne Gilley of Atoka, Marshall Gilley of Hobart, Keith Gilley of Hobart and Timothy Gilley of Lexington; six daughters, Wanda Hamlett of Hobart, Linda Hamlett of Hobart, Alice Pinnell of Hobart, Rita Newberry of Vernon, Texas and Deloris Ensey and Mary Gilley, both of Hobart, 38 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.

Services for Faye Etta Gilley will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Hobart, officiated by Kay Cox. Burial will be at Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home

Fellers

Lina L. Fellers was born Oct. 15, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Ruth Emma (Harper) McVay. She died July 31, 2004 in Altus.

She married Herman Lee Fellers Jan. 9, 1955 in Altus and he preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1977.

Lina Lee worked for Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company more than 40 years before retiring. She was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. She attended Altus Junior College and Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Altus.

She is survived by two nephews, Michael L. McVay of Seven Lakes, N. C., Donald C. McVay of York, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Donald R. McVay.

Graveside services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004 at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Grider

Pauline Wilson Grider died at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2004. Services have been scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 6, 2004 at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Bud Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Pauline was born Dec. 24, 1923, at Hess in Jackson County to Ambrose Easley Wilson and Ada Mae (Muse) Wilson. She attended Porter High School and graduated from Southside High after the consolidation. On Jan. 23, 1945, Pauline and Herbert Kenneth Grider were united in marriage at Guymon. They had 59 wonderful years together, raising three children.

Pauline helped the war effort during World War II by riveting on C-47s and inspecting gas masks in California. She also taught school near Ardmore, Oklahoma on a war emergency certificate. She served as Director of the Altus Senior Citizens' Center for several years where she enjoyed teaching ceramics before retiring.

Grider is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose Easley Wilson and Ada Mae Muse Wilson; and by two brothers, Cecil Rae Wilson and Frankie Bob Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Herbert Kenneth Grider Sr. of the home; three children, Herbert Kenneth Grider, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Black Canyon, Ariz., Steven Lynn Grider of San Diego, and Robbie Von McCarty and husband, Steve of Altus; six grandchildren, Kenna Joy Grider, Kenneth Glenn Grider, and Toni Melissa Grider of Oklahoma City, Becky Lynn Perry of Hobart, Paula New and husband, Tom of Weatherford and Steven Aaron Grider of Black Canyon, Ariz.; two brothers, Paul Wilson and wife Bobbie Sue of Altus and Gary Wilson of Mustang; one sister, Linda Heuckendorf and husband, Richard of Choctaw; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Myrick

Renee Joy Myrick, 49, died Aug. 3, 2004 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 9, 1956 to John and Elizabeth Anderson in Birmingham, Ala. Renee married Tyrone Myrick Dec. 6, 1980 in Nashville, Tenn.

She was a daycare provider at Altus Air Force Base and she loved her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of Altus Air Force Base; two sons, Tyrone Myrick, Jr. of Altus, Reginald Myrick of Altus Air Force Base; two grandsons, Jaylin and Jontea; one sister and three brothers.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and services will be held at a later date in Birmingham, Ala. under the direction of the Smith and Gaston Funeral Home.
