Williams

Paul Dwayne Williams, 37, died at his home in Granite on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004.

Paul was born March 3, 1967, to Bill and Mary Ruth (Lyles) Williams at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, N.M.

Paul moved with his family to Blair at an early age and graduated from Blair High School in 1985.

On Dec. 4, 1998, he married the love of his life, Tammy Kay, in Wellington, Texas.

Paul joined the Granite Police Department in 1994 and served as a reserve officer with that department until 1997.

On Dec. 6, 1991, Paul joined the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a correctional officer and later became a counselor with the DOC, serving until the time of his death.

Paul was preceded in death by his brother, James Williams; his sister, Sherry L. Culp; his mother, Mary; his grandmother, Bertha Hutchison, and grandfather, Earl Hutchison.

Paul is lovingly survived by his wife of the home; his dad and wife, Bill and Laura Williams of Granit; his children, Chris Morgan-Williams and wife Janet of Ft. Campbell, Ky., Lorissa Copeland and husband Chris of Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City; and one grandson, David Morgan-Williams of Fort Campbell, Ky.; two brothers, Donald Williams of Little Rock, Ark., and Chris Locklear of Gilford, N.H.; two sisters, Debra Cole of Moore, and Angie Carpenter and husband Randy of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Patsy Morgan of Clinton; and a host of family members and friends whom he dearly loved.

Funeral services for Paul Williams will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at the Blair First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Lyles officiating.

Interment will follow at the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home in Granite and Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

Paul will lie in state at Greer Funeral Home in Granite.

The family will greet friends Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Greer Funeral Home Chapel in Granite.

Eiler

Veda Jo (Spradlin) Eiler died peacefully on Nov. 14, 2004, at her home in Albany, Ore., following a courageous battle with kidney cancer.

She was born Sept. 16, 1943, in Altus where she lived most of her life.

She enjoyed life by spending most of her time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Woodrow Spradlin; sister Beverly Darcy; and one grandchild, Daniel Eiler Jr.

She is survived by six children, Debbie and husband John Sledge of Conroe Texas, Denise Wheeler and husband Charles of Albany Ore., Dena Winters and husband Barry of Fort Worth, Texas, Danny Eiler of Altus, David and wife Donna of Blythville, Ark., and Darren Eiler of Altus; 16 grandchildren, Megan Davis, David Eiler, Heather Fosdick, Charles, Britni and Rainie Wheeler, Brian Eiler, Amber Eiler, Ryan Eiler, Delilah Eiler, Ariel Eiler, Jeremy Robinson, Darian Eiler, Savannah Winters, Jacob Eiler and Gunner Winters; three great-grandchildren, John, Gabriel and Elaina Fosdick; two sisters, Bonnie Ford and Sandra Shaw and husband Willie of Altus; brothers, Jerry and Jimmie Spradlin of Altus.

At the time of her death she was awaiting the birth of her great-grandson, whom Rainie has chosen to name Joseph after Veda Jo.

In honor of Veda there will be a potluck dinner following the service.

Friends are invited to bring their favorite dishes and any photographs they wish to share.

Service will be held at the Salvation Army Church, 521 W. Broadway in Altus. at 1 p.m. Saturday Dec.11, 2004.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society Texas Division P.O Box 149186 Austin, TX 78714-9186 or to the Salvation Army in Altus.

Barnes

Kathleen “Kathy” Ann Barnes, of Duke, died Friday, March 31, 2006 in her home.

Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Duke with the Rev. Wayne Knight officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rock Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born to Arthur and Patricia Southerland on Jan. 11, 1948, at Whibey Island, Oak Harbor, Wash.

She was a graduate of Moore High School and Oklahoma State University and was a member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants.

She married Lynn Barnes in 1971, and moved to Randlett.

She was employed as an accountant at Fisher Land & Cattle, Co. in Wichita Falls, Texas.

In 1978, she and her family moved to Duke.

Her pride and joy were her children and their participation in livestock shows, sports and other activities.

She loved serving as the Rodeo Secretary for the Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association and was honored with the National Secretary of the Year award in 1997.

She loved her family, her friends, and her community.

She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church where she was the church treasurer for many years.

She was the City Clerk for Duke and the school treasurer for Duke Public Schools for many years up until her illness.

She was a long time member of the 20th Century Club.

In 2005, the Duke Chamber of Commerce named her the Outstanding Citizen of the Year.

She is survived by her husband Lynn Barnes; daughter, Becky and her husband Todd Warren; son, Billy Joe Barnes and his wife Wendy; son Benny Barnes; granddaughter Payton Barnes, all of Duke; her parents, Arthur and Patricia Southerland; sisters, Arlene Southerland, Clara and her husband Tom Skaggs, Sara and her husband Steve Watkins; brother, Arthur Southerland and his wife Cindy; brother-in-law, Bennie Barnes; 10 nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

She was proceeded in death by grandson, Brody Guy Barnes.

Tointigh

Carlous Henry Jay Tointigh Jr., 13-day-old infant son of April Marie Weatherly Tointigh and Carlous H. Tointigh, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

He was born Jan. 2, 2006 in Hobart.

He is survived by his parents, Carlous and April Tointigh; and one brother, Brent Allen (Weatherly) Tointigh, all of the home; grandparents, Pat and Charlie Tointigh of Hobart, Gene and Donna Weatherly of Hobart and Dwight Waffle of Lone Wolf; great-grandparents, Cleo Waffle of Lone Wolf, H.G. Weatherly of Oklahoma City, Clifford Jones of Checotah, Juanita and Olin Betts of Camden, Ark., and Betty and Bud Taylor of Georgetown, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lone Wolf Cemetery.

James Lankford will officiate. Arrangements are with People’s Co-operative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf.

Swann

Billy N. Swann was born Dec.4, 1927, in Tipton, Okla. He died Jan. 1, 2005, in Altus.

He was the son of the late William and Effie (Cody) Swann.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

He was a construction superintendent at Fort Sill until he retired in 1990.

He married his wife Betty on Oct. 23, 1998, in Vernon, Texas.

He had resided in Altus for the past six years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Scottish Rites and a 32nd degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife Betty Jo Swann of Altus; three children, Betty Lou and Kenneth Smith of Irving, Texas, Calvin and Mary Preston of Richardson, Texas, Don and Dena Swann of Bentonville, Ark.; three sisters, Bobbie and Ross Morgan of Ardmore, Wanda and Billy Walker of Alberquerque, N.M., Barbara and Charles McNatt of Altus; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews

Billy Swann was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, Neal, and a younger brother, Jackie.

Services for Billy Swann are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.

Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery with military honors.

The family of Billy Swann will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Havron

Jo Ann Havron, 76, of Hobart, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Jo Ann was born July 25, 1928, in Lone Wolf to Grace L. Stephenson Rice and Howard Rice.

She was married to Allen Havron at The First Baptist Church in Lone Wolf on April 30, 1947.

Jo Ann had worked as a bank teller and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hobart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Havron is survived by her husband, Allen Havron of the home; a son, Rex Havron of Katy, Texas; three daughters, Lana Bass of Desoto, Texas, Peggy Miller of Lone Wolf, and Crystal March of Jones; a brother, Jerry Rice of Mustang; two sisters, Bonnie Hellrigel of Delevan, Ill.; and Mrs. Havron's twin sister, Betty Jo Lamb of Canyon, Texas; six grandchildren, Douglas Havron of Houston, and Jennifer Godfrey Gregg and Kristen Gregg of Carlyle, Ill., Dana and Timmothy March of Jones, Baylee Miller and Alan Miller of Lone Wolf.

The funeral service for Jo Ann Havron will be held at 10 a.m Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Hobart, officiated by Tommy Clark and Michael Larson.

Burial will be at Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiowa County Museum in Hobart.
