DAVID C. HAMILTON

David Cecil Hamilton 78, died in Beggs on Thursday, November 6, 2001. He was born in Beggs on January 22, 1923 to Grover Cleveland and Pansy Peach (Pharis) Hamilton.

He had been employed by Ingersol-Rand and after retirement was a farmer and rancher. His parents, three brothers Robert Hamilton, Buddy Hamilton and Ted Hamilton, and a sister Winifred Evans preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sons Tom and wife Michelle Hamilton of Beggs, James Hamilton of Tulsa and Tim and wife Ann Hamilton of London, England; two daughters Kathleen Viersen of Okmulgee and Cynthia and Husband Mike Hubbell of Beggs; one brother Donald Hamilton of Muskogee; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Monday, December 10, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Beggs. Burial will be in the Beggs Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Beggs.

Amanda Steward, 28, Catherine Steward, 7, Christopher Steward, 5, and Nora Steward, 4, died Dec. 1, 2001 at Pengal Mountain, Okla.

Amanda was born Oct. 30, 1973 at Sapulpa to Tommy Reed and Charlene Tatum Reed. She married Leland Steward on July 12, 1997 at Lebanon, Mo. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Leland Steward of Bengal Mountain; her parents, Tommy & Charlene Reed of Nashoba, Okla., two sisters; Tammy Aaron of Antlers, Okla., and Christy Reed of Missouri; her grandmother, Bonnie Reed of Schulter; four nieces & one nephew.

Catherine, Christopher & Nora are survived by their father, Leland Steward of Bengal Mountain; maternal grandparents, Tommy & Charlene Reed of Nashoba, Okla.; paternal grandfather, Gary Steward of Missouri; paternal grandmother, Sharon Steward of Missouri; maternal great-grandmother, Bonnie Reed of Schulter. Catherine was born Aug. 8, 1994 at Poteau, Christopher was born Oct. 4, 1996 in Poteau and Nora Fay was born Aug. 29, 1997 at Lebanon, Mo.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7 at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta with Charles Talbert officiating. Services were under direction of Shurden Funeral Home.

MARGARET MOORE

Margaret Moore, 70, of Henryetta died Dec. 6, 2001 at Henryetta.

Arrangements are pending with the Rogers Funeral Home.

KATIE MAE DOHRER

Katie Mae Dohrer, 79, of Damon, Texas died Nov. 20, 2001at her home. She was born to James Mac and Ina Mae Huffman on Sept, 4, 1922 in Washtucna, Wash.

She had been a resident of Damon for the past year after moving from Eufaula. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Dohrer, daughter Sherry Brady, five brothers and her parents.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Dohrer of Henryetta; three daughters, JoAnn Terrill of Eufaula, Tammy Dohrer of Damon, and Terry Dohrer of Damon; three brothers, Wayne Cox of Lewiston, Idaho, Lester Cox of Oakhaven, Wash., and Andrew Cox of Wenatchee, Wash., a sister, Mary Stafford of Arizona; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

OPAL REA IRWIN

Opal Rea Irwin, 90, a resident of Okmulgee for over fifty years died on Thursday December 6, 2001. She was born on February 10, 1911 near Hardinsville , Illinois to Charles 0. and Birdella (Stagner) Irwin.

She spent many years in Okmulgee as a secretary for East Central Electric Co-op, Inc., Southwest Glass and the Ball Glass Company. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Okmulgee.

Survivors include nephews, nieces and cousins. From Okmulgee her nephew is W.M. "Bill" Milroy and his wife Carolyn and great nephew, Joseph R. "Rusty' Milroy.

Services are pending with the Kelley Funeral Home.

DANNY MCCULLAR

Danny McCullar, 52, of Tulsa died Dec. 4, 2001 in Tulsa. He was born Aug. 19, 1949 in Hitchita to Henry McCullar and Helen Hale McCullar.

He was a member of Ranch Acres Baptist Church of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer McCullar Gray and husband Randy of Henryetta; his son, Dusty McCullar of Okmulgee; two grandchildren; his mother, Helen McCullar of Henryetta; three brothers, Tom McCullar of Dallas, Bob McCullar of Muskogee and Don McCullar of Tulsa and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, at the Ranch Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Lackey Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.

CLEO MAE STONE

Cleo Mae Stone (Boardwine), 67, died Nov. 27, 2001 in Okmulgee. She was born March 19, 1934 in Checotah to Loyd and Jessie (Humphrey) Stone.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Northern Light Tabernacle in Okmulgee with Mike Taylor officiating. Services were under direction of the Kelley Funeral Home.

DANNY MCCULLAR

Danny McCullar, 52, of Henryetta died Dec. 4, 2001 in Tulsa.

Arrangements are pending with Shurden Funeral Home.

THOMAS COKER

Thomas Edward Coker, 78, of Tulsa and formerly of the county, died Dec. 2, 2001 at his home. He was born Oct. 15. 1923 in Bearden, Okla., to Gibson and Emma Coker.

Following the death of his parents, he attended the Sequoia Indian School in Tahlequah. After his schooling he enlisted in the United States Army where he served with the17th Calvary during World War II, receiving the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He graduated from Oklahoma State Tech and worked for the City of Tulsa Water Department as a maintenance mechanic for 35 years before retirement.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Olivene of the home; his children, David Gibbins, Thomas Edward Coker Jr., and Emily Coker Petherick; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Wake services are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7p.m., at the Tulsa Indian Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.

CLYDE D. BRANSON

Clyde Duran Branson 90, a resident of Dewar, Oklahoma died on Sunday, December 2, 2001 in Dewar. He was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on November 29, 1911 to John Duran and Schaia (Payne) Branson.

He married Nadine Berry in Amarillo, Texas on November 10, l935. He owned and operated Branson Auto Incorporated and owned Branson Datsun Dealership in Los Angeles County California. He was one of the first Datsun Dealerships In the United States. He was in the car business from 1947 until his retirement in 1973. He and his wife then moved to Dewar. He was a member of the Rotary. His parents and two sisters Alice Maly and Letha Brown preceded him in death

Survivors include his wife Nadine Branson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Marie B. and Bill Skouras, Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother John Duran Branson, New Orleans, Louisiana; a sister Naomi Dean of Henryetta; six grandchildren, twelve great- grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the McClenden-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chester Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m., until 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jim Buring, Richard Gustafson, Clyde Valore, Ed Smallwood, Joe Smallwood and Jodie Watson.

LILLIAN M. TEAGUE

Lillian M. Teague, 74, longtime Muskogee resident, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born May 8, 1927 at Hulbert, Okla., to Lacy Lee Rogers and Eva Brummett Rogers.

She made her home in Hulbert for eighteen years and lived in Muskogee the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Ash Street Missionary Baptist Church. She began working for the phone company in 1956 and was employed there for thirty four and one half years before retiring in 1981. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneer Belles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel J. Teague on Nov. 16, 1997 and by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Edmonds and her husband John of Morris; two grandchildren, a brother, Lacy Wayne Rogers and his wife, Mary of Hulbert; a sister, Barbara Young and her husband, Jack of Hulbert; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the Ash Street Missionary Baptist Church in Muskogee with the Rev. Jack Hobbs officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hulbert under direction of the Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.

Pallbearers were Dwayne Rogers, Larry Rogers, Bryan Young, Georgel Franzier, George Rankin and Tony Kockernick.

JOHN D. RICE

John D. Rice, 87, of Henryetta died Dec. 3, 2001 at Henryetta. He was born July 11, 1910 at Pawhuska to James Madison Rice and Delissa Rice.

He was married to Margaret Marie Nall on Oct. 31, 1935 at Crayton, Mo. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Henryetta. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 19, 2000; a son, Joe Bob Rice on July 21, 1991; his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Westlawn Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.

VERNON SIMS

Vernon Sims, 68, and a resident of Okmulgee died on Tuesday, November 27, 2001 in the Veterans Administration Center at Talihina, Okla. He was born on January 11, 1933 in Okmulgee, the son of Jasper and Lucy (Peters) Sims.

He was a lifelong resident of Okmulgee and a graduate of Dunbar High School with the class of 1952. He served his Country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and worked for Kelco/Monsanto Company.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Sims of the home in Okmulgee; his son, Jimmie Binford of Okmulgee; his daughters, Detra Ellis, Verna Smith and Shamone Sims, all of Okmulgee; his brother, Wilford Sims, Tulsa, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Service of Memory will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. Pastor Ernest Jordan and Rev. McKinley Rice will officiate. Burial will be Monday, Dec. 3 at 11:00 a.m., in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson under direction of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m., until 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m., until 2p.m.
