DOLORES ADAMS

Dolores Adams, 68, of Okmulgee died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001.

Arrangements are pending with the Kelley Funeral Home.

DEMARCO BAGBY

Demarco Bagby, 25, of Okmulgee died Nov. 20, 2001 in a Tulsa hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1976.

He attended Okmulgee High School, graduating in 1997. He attended Conversion Ministries Church of Okmulgee and was an employee of Pizza Hut.

Survivors include his brother, Craig Denton of the home; extended family, Sharronez Cross, Crystal Hammon and Linda Brooks, all of Okmulgee and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov 28, at the Okmulgee Conversion Ministries Church with Rev. Gregory Richardson officiating. Arrangements are under direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, Inc., Eastlawn Chapel in Tulsa.

RUBY S. JONES

Ruby Sanford Jones, 83, a long time resident of Okmulgee died away, Wednesday. Nov. 21st, 2001 in the local hospital, He was born Aug. 19, 1918 in the Dripping Springs Community to Clyde and Liza (Cephas) Sanford.

She was a retired silk finisher at the dry cleaners. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Jones, Okmulgee and Quincy Jones of Camp Springs, Md.; a daughter, Lena Jones Thompson of Okmulgee; one sister, Minnie McElroy, Spencer, Okla., 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 28th in the Precious Memories Chapel at 1l:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Sharps Memorial Garden under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 noon until 6 p.m.

DOLORES CONNORS

Dolores Connors, 73, of Dewar died Nov. 25, 2001 in Tulsa. She was born Oct. 27, 1928 at Henryetta to Alfred DePasse and Gertrude Green DePasse.

She was married to James L. Connors on June 16, 1947 at Henryetta. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, an infant son and a grandson, Devin Summers in 1985.

Survivors include three sons, Darrell Connors of the home, James A. Connors and wife Vickie of Dewar and Michael Connors and wife Pam of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Summers and Hillis of Dewar; four grandchildren one great-grandson; a sister, Pat New and husband Bill of Tulsa; a brother, George DePasse and wife Elvina of Henryetta and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m, at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.

EDWIN COOK

Edwin Cook, 86, of Hitchita died Nov. 26, 2001 at Hitchita. He was born Sept. 6, 1915 near Allen, Okla., to Robert "Jakc" Cook and Minnie Allen Cook. He was married to Helen Berryhill on April 19, 1935. He was a retired postmaster with United States Postal Service, retiring from the Hitchita Post Office after serving for 32 years. He was also a merchant for 34 years. He was veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Tulledge Masonic Lodge and was a trustee of the Hitchita Lackey Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Albert and a sister, Laverne.

Survivors include his wife Helen of the home; two daughters, Charlene Reynolds and husband John of Bixby; three grandchildren three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 29 at 2:30 p.m., at the Hitchita Holiness Church with J. C. Morgan and Lamar Kindell officiating. Burial will be in the Hitchita Lackey Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be David Reynolds, Kent Reynolds, Mark Thomas, Lawrence McCullah, Don Scott and Phil Davis.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

BILLY S. WEST

Billy Stanton West, 72, of Okmulgee died Nov. 23, 2001 at his home. He was born Nov. 17, 1928 in Terrell, Texas to William Shirley and Flossie Helen West.

He served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1962. He was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls, Texas where he graduated high school and Southwestern University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He continued his education in Evansville, Ind., receiving registration in the American Society of Clinical Pathology. He was employed by the Henryetta Medical Center for the last 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 35 years, Virginia Adair (Gilbert).

Survivors include his wife, Flora Freida (Walter)of the home; one son, Billy West Jr., of Rowlett, Texas; four stepchildren, Claudia Bradley of Bartlesville, Marrian Bell of Utica, New York, James West of Tulsa and Michael Riddlespurger of Henryetta; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Joe Williams of Austin, Texas and Joyce Lee Baird of Belton, Texas; one brother, Henry Gwyne West of Wichita Falls and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 26 in Okmulgee under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home of Henryetta.

GARLAND L. NEWMAN

Garland Leo Newman, 55, died Nov. 4, 2001. The youngest of five children, he was born in Purcell on October 30,1946, to William Henry and Lizzie Belle Newman.

His family moved to Long Beach, Calif., while he was a young child, but returned to Purcell upon the death of his father. He attended Purcell Public Schools, graduating in 1964. He served briefly in the Okiahoma National Guard while attending the University of Oklahoma where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in 1968. He taught junior high history for one year, before turning to the insurance industry, where he spent the next 30 years working mainly as a field representative and branch manager. On January 2, 2001, he married Mary Ruth Summerlin in Jenks, Oklahoma. He was baptized June 17,200l into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Henryetta and received his Melchizidek priesthood at the hands of Wayne Decker on Sept. 9, 2001 in Muskogee.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Newman; four sons, Zachariah Eric Grandpre, Patrick Bryan Newman, Earl Eugene Wilson and Jeremy Edward Parent; four daughters, Patricia Lynn Newman, Zaneta Amanda Potter, Yvonne Darlene Wilson, and Heili Michelle Parent; one brother, Orville Ray "Doodle" Newman and one grandchild.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2001 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Henryetta. A private family burial will be the Purcell Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.

BLANCHE BELTON

Blanche Belton, 74, of Boynton died Nov. 5, 2001 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital Medical Center. She was born Jan. 9, 1925 in Boynton to David and Mary (Perry) Howell.

She was a homemaker. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include seven sons, Bobby Belton of Tulsa, Freddie Belton Jr., of Oklahoma City, Jerry Belton, Dwight Belton, David Belton and Earl Tucker, all of Boynton and Jeffrey Tucker of Okmulgee; four daughters, Joan Pouncil, Lucille Carter, Carolyn Lee, all of Boynton and Debra Belton of Shawnee; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boynton with Rev. Leslie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Lee Cemetery under direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon until 6 p.m.

DOLORES ADAMS

Dolores Adams, 68, of Okmulgee died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001. She was born Aug. 21, 1933 in Anderson, Mo., to Harry and Thelma (Eisenhower) Easom.

She came to Okmulgee 10 years ago and had attended Crosstown Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Franklin and Delmer Easom.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Adams and husband Don Godfrey of Okmulgee and Kathryn Bond and husband Charles of Houston, Texas and one grandchild.

No service is planned. Arrangements are under direction of the Kelley Funeral Home.

DARLENE H. ARNOLD

Darlene H. Arnold, 76, of Henryetta died Nov.7, 2001. She was born June 11, 1925 in Tulsa to Clyde Chaney and Myrtle Arnold Chaney.

She was married to James M. "Jim" Arnold on Jan. 25, 1941 at Henryetta. She worked for several years as an administrative assistant at Fountain View Manor Nursing Home at Henryetta with her sisters in law Bessie Gavras and Opal Molet. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of the home in Henryetta; three children, James L. Arnold and wife Jill of Eugene, Oregon, Helen "June" McKinney of Henryetta and Allen Arnold and wife Louise of Collierville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Burgess of Henryetta and other relatives and friends.

Services will be Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m., at the Shurden Chapel. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.

NOLA SNYDER

Nola Snyder, 80, died Nov. 7, 2001in Okmulgee. She was born May 20, 1920 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was a longtime beautician at Sand Springs and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #32 in Sand Springs. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Baker and Ivan Snyder; a great-grandchild, Angela Gerace and seven brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Goodnight of Ventura, Calif., a son in law, Everett Horn of Okmulgee; five grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m., at Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs with Rev. Shawn Bassham officiating. Burial will be under direction of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home - Riverside Chapel in Sand Springs.

CURTIS BARRETT

Curtis Barrett, 58, died Tuesday, November 6, 2001 in Okmulgee. He was born Wednesday, May 5, 1943 in West Plains, Missouri to Hama and Hazel (Wilsey) Barrett. Mr. Barrett married, Donna Howard on July 14, 1962 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Owasso for 26 years and moved to Okmulgee in October. Mr. Barrett was the owner of Barrett Electric Inc. and Tulsa Midwest Construction Co. He was a graduate of the Medicine Lodge, Kansas High School in 1961 and was a member the Church of Christ Faith.

He is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; two sons: Randy Curtis Barrett and wife Deborah of Inola, OK; Rick E. Barrett and wife Tessa of Stillwater, OK; two brothers: Claud Barrett of Springfield, MO; Mark Barrett of Midwest City, OK, four sisters: Mary Alice Krause of Ponca City, OK, Emily J. Young of Pratt, KS; Jo Miller of Wagoner, OK; and Georgeann Eikenbary of Liberal, KS; five grandchildren: Jake, Josh Jackie, Grace, and Claire Barrett.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Baptist Church in Morris. Burial will follow the service in the Morris Cemetery in Morris, Oklahoma under the direction of The Kelley Funeral Home in Okmulgee, Ok. Officiating at the Friday service will be Dr. Mike Butler and pallbearers will include David Dixon, Bud Adkins, Harold Dean Bardin, Donnie Conley Sr., Clem Witt, and Bob Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Adams and Levi Simpkins.

Visitation will be in the chapel of The Kelley Funeral Home on Thursday, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Blanche Belton, 74, of Boynton died Nov. 5, 2001 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital Medical Center.

Arrangements are pending with the House of Winn Funeral Home.

LISA L. SAYERS

Lisa Lynn Sayers, 34, of Okmulgee died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001 at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa. She was born March 5, 1967 in Salem, Oregon.

Survivors include her father, Charles Sayers of Battle Mountain, Nevada; her mother, Margarita "Morillo" Matson of Okmulgee; three sisters, Ilene Dixon and Mary Sayers , both of Okmulgee, and Linda Penna of Hickory Flat, Miss.; two daughters, Angelina Croft of Yuma, Ariz., and Jessica Wilkinson of Salem, Oregon; a son Jeremy Wilkinson of Salem; and a friend, Tom Pierce of Okmulgee.

Funeral arrangements were under direction of the Reynolds Funeral Home of Tulsa.

Flowers or contributions may be sent to the family at 320 North Oklahoma St., in Okmulgee.
