ANN E. MALINOUSKE

Ann Elizabeth Malinouske, 93, of Henryetta, died Friday, May 4, 2001. She was born Thursday, September 19, 1907 in Hartford, AR to John and Annie Gazalski. She married Eddie Malinouske on November 7, 1945. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Malinouske, her parents, John and Annie Gazalski; a brother, John Gazalski and a niece.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Juanita Malinouske and Mary Gazalski of Henryetta; and several nephews.

Services will be held Monday, May 7, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the St. Michaels Catholic Church officiated by Father Joseph Vadake Chirayath. Burial will be at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.

CARL C. CRABB

Carl C. Crabb, 82, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Henryetta, died May 4, 2001 in Oklahoma City. He was born Feb. 27, 1919 in Boyd, Texas to John T. Crabb and Ludy Viola Splawn Crabb.

He was married to Wilitta Hasty on Oct.1, 1948 in Fort Smith, Ark. He retired from the army with 22 years service after serving during World War II and Korea. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Dewar and a member of the VFW Post 539.

Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Sue Meister and husband Ralph of Oklahoma City and Mary Lou Marcy of Edmond; one son, Ralph E. Osborn and wife Peggy of Waco, Texas; one sister, Blanch Rice of Oregon; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wilitta.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m, Monday in the Robert Simons Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery at Henryetta under direction of the Robert Simons Funeral Home.

Gwen Hendrickson

December 25, 1937-April 10, 2001

Gwen Hendrickson, resident of Haskell, Oklahoma for the past 10 years, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 after a heart-saddening struggle with cancer. Born, Iris Gwendolyn Pickard, near Proctor, Oklahoma on December 25, 1937 Gwen was a true Christmas "gift" for those who knew and loved her. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents Faye C. (Mathis) and Ona J. Pickard and one brother, Larry Donell Pickard. Gwen is survived by her husband, Don Hendrickson of Haskell, two daughters, Elaine Denise Parry of Keller, TX, and Lisa Dawn Hendrickson-Ross of Beaver, Utah. Two sons-in-law, David Parry of Keller and Charles 'Casey' Ross of Beaver. Four, much doted-upon, grandchildren, Joshua Alan, Katie Elisabeth, Will Christopher and Samuel Laine Parry all of Keller. Gwen is also survived by three brothers, Lawrence and Terry Lynn of the Garland, TX area, Denton 'Doug' Pickard of Mission Viejo, Ca. Three sisters, Patricia Riddle of Houston, TX, Dianthia Garner, Dallas, TX, and Joan Clark of Oklahoma City, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Gwen was laid to rest near her grandparents, Sarah and William Pickard, in the Tahlequah City Cemetery on Good Friday, April 13, 2001. Funeral arrangements were handled by Dowdy Funeral Home, Haskell. Graveside services were conducted by her brother-in-law, Andy Hendrickson.

Gwen's husband, Don, was born and raised in Okmulgee, where he met, fell in love with, and married Gwen on July 7, 1956. Gwen attended Okmulgee High School during her junior year and she and Don resided in Okmulgee for a short time after their marriage. They also lived in Tulsa, Laredo, TX, Twin Falls, ID, and Miami, OK. They were married and shared their lives for 45 years.

ARBEN D. DOAKES

Arben D. "Spooky" Doakes, 70, lifelong resident of Beggs died Sunday, April 29, 2001 at the Veteran's Medical Center in Muskogee. He was born June 24, 1930 in Beggs to Flynn and Ivory (Arbuckle) Doakes.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a graduate of Langston University, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, member of the Beggs Chamber of Commerce, former member of the Beggs City Council. He was also a member of the Gilmore Post 214 of the American Legion, past president of the Wheatley Alumni Association, Bethel Lodge #138, St. Hedrin Consistory #36 of Muskogee and Hira Temple #116 of Muskogee. He was a member of the Handy Chapel AME Church of Beggs. He was married to Corine Carr on June 22, 1957 at Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Corine Doakes of the home; six children, Marcie McGee of Tulsa, Carlton L. Doakes of El Paso, Texas, Ivan Doakes of Dallas, LaJuan C. Lewis of Oklahoma City, Marginetta White of Texarkana, Texas and Chalonda T. Doakes of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Beggs and Doris Wright of Oklahoma City; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 5, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Detra Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be sons and nephews.

Friends may visit the funeral home from 9 a.m., until 8 p.m., Friday. Services are under direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.

DEAN NORICK

Dean Norick, 83, of Henryetta died April 30, 2001 at his home. He was born Oct, 20, 1917 in Craig, Okla., to Effie Laura (Richardson) Norick and Wiliam Marion Norick.

He was married to Minnie Mae Holt on Jan. 14, 1945 at Henryetta. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 25th Infantry Division, 35th Regiment. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Ronald Dean and wife Nancy Norick of Bixby; one sister, Ann Norick Palmer of Henryetta; a grandson; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery with Rev. Lloyd Campbell officiating. Services are under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.

GEORGE WALKER

George Walker, 76, of Henryetta died April 29, 2001 in Tulsa. He was born in Henryetta on Feb. 3, 1925 to Dick and Manda Walker.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Walker of Henryetta; two grandchildren; a brother, Barney Walker of Henryetta and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wake services will be held at at the Rogers Chapel on Tuesday from 7 until 8 p.m.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 2 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Wayne officiating. Burial will follow at the Soweka Cemetery in Ryal, Okla., under direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Henryetta.

PAIDON ANGELETTE SANDLIN

Paidon Angelette Sandlin, infant daughter of Angelette (Brown) and Malcolm Sandlin, died Friday, April 27, 2001 in Tulsa. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.

IRENE GREGORY

Irene Gregory, 79, a resident of Okmulgee for over 30 years, died Sunday, April 29, 2001 in Okmulgee. She was born on Friday, March 31, 1922 in Hope, Arkansas to Robert and Lula Mae (McWilliams) Jeffcoat. She worked as a switchboard operator for Lockheed Aircraft.

She is survived by one son, Roger Gregory and wife, Cecilia of Okmulgee; two daughters, Ollie Blodgett and husband Richard of Franklinville, New York, and Sylvia Bean of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Robert Jeffcoat of California; two sisters, Glenda Arden and Sue VanOrnum both of California, seventeen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris Chapel with Pastor Wayne Gimmell officiating. Burial will be in the Morris Cemetery with the arrangements under the direction of the Kelley Funeral Home.

PATTY JO HARRIS

Patty Jo Harris, 66, passed away April 26, 2001 in Tulsa. She was a retired dispatcher from the Okmulgee Police and Sheriff's Department.

She is survived by sons, Leroy and wife Paula and Mike and wife Jackie of Okmulgee; Grandchildren, Justin, Clayton, Janet, Christopher, Nicholas, Tyler, Bridgett, Jonathon, Schuyler, and Abigail; three Great-grandchildren and a sister Helen Smith of California.

Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m., at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow under the direction of Moore's Eastlawn.

JOE HARJO 'JR.' III

Joe Harjo "Jr." III, 57, died Friday, April 20, 2001 in Rialto, Calif. He was born Dec. 3, 1943 in Okmulgee to Elizabeth (Stake) and Joe Harjo Jr. II.

He was employed as an engineer for the City of Los Angeles, Calif.

Wake services will be Sunday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m., at the Kelley Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, April 30, at the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church at 2p.m. with the Rev. Robert Washington officiating. Burial will be in the Stake Family Cemetery in Preston. Services are under direction of the Kelley Funeral Home.

RUBY LEE SCOTT

Ruby Lee Scott, 73, a former resident of Checotah, died April 25, 2001 in a Muskogee nursing home. She was born July 17, 1927 in Fame, Okla., to Grover Cleveland and Lillie (Lee) Lyons.

She was a retired home health aide. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, a sister and two brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Quincy L. Scott of Muskogee, Allen Scott and Jarod Scott, both of Tulsa; six daughters, Sarah J. Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., Edna L. Starks and Janet M. Chamberlin, both of Tulsa, Freda J. Hall of Oktaha, Maryland Guidry of Muskogee and Phillicine Warrior of Checotah; three sisters, Bobbie Jewel of San Bernadino, Calif., Clevelle Jones of Columbus, Ohio and Lillie Mae Mitchell of Phoenix, Ariz; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m., in the First Baptist Church, 210 S.W. Second Street at Checotah with Pastor Ralph E. Boyattia officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery at Checotah under direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home. The family wake will be Sunday at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

HAROLD D. DELONIA JR.

Harold D. Delonia Jr., 43, a former resident of Okmulgee, died Friday, April 20 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 16, 1957 in Wichita, Kans., to Harold Sr. and Bennie Ruth (Douglas) Delonia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a laborer.

Preceding him in death were his father and one brother.

Survivors include his mother, Bennie Ruth Delonia, Okmulgee; four sons, Harold Delonia III, Sacremento, Calif., Harold D. Delonia IV of Kansas City, Kan., Darius Delonia of Wichita, Kan., and Dominique Delonia of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Nateshia Delonia, Tulsa and Vinicity Delonia of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Donnie Delonia of Okmulgee and George Delonia of Kanas City, Mo; four sisters, Barbara Ranson of Okmulgee, Angela Franks of Tulsa, Ruth Sims of Waco, TX, Christina Curley of Tulsa; four grandchildren along with numerous relatives and friends.

A service of memory will be conducted on Saturday, April 28, 2001 in the New Salem Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Rev. Eli Behn will officiate. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery, Boynton, OK, under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, April 27th, from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

THOMAS DOYLE KERNS

Thomas Doyle "T. D." Kerns, 71, of Henryetta died Monday, April 23, 2001. He was born May 6, 1929 in Gulftown, Okla., to Doyle Kerns and Vesta Bardin Kerns.

He was married to Mary Patricia "Pat" McManus on Aug. 18, 1951 at Henryetta. He was a member of the 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus, St. Michael's Men's Club and a former member of Elks Club and Optimist Club. He served the City of Henryetta as Planning and Zoning Commissioner. He started his career with Gulf Oil Company in Seminole in 1951, transferring to Camp Hill, Pa., in 1958 to work for Laurel Pipeline. In 1964 the family returned to Henryetta where he became part owner of Progressive Chevrolet, which he operated until 1987. After retiring from the car business, he went into the real estate business until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, John Gayle Kerns; his stepfather, Thomas Wilson and his mother, Vesta Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Kerns of the home; two daughters, Debbie Murray and husband Jim of Tulsa and Lori Humphrey and husband Mark of Morris; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an aunt and three uncles.

A Rosary was held Thursday at 7p.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Memorial services will be Friday, April 27, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael's Catholic Church officiated by Father Neal Brogan.

A private family burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery. Services are under direction of the Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Henryetta Medical Foundation.
