MARGURITE HOPKINS

Margurite Hopkins, 78, a longtime Henryetta resident died December 4, 2002 in Claremore.

Services are pending with Rogers Funeral Home of Henryetta.

LUNNIE PATTERSON

Lunnie Emaline Patterson, 87, of Henryetta died Dec. 6, 2002. She was born Sept. 7, 1915 in Quitman, Arkansas to Verdie (Grissom) Holley and Simmie Holley.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Dewar and a member of the Gospel Barn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Mathis "Jeff" Patterson in 1989, her parents, daughter, Roberta Patterson, grandson, Melvin "Bud" Patterson Jr., son, Robert "Butch" E. Perkins, 1 great grandchild, Robert Geier, as well as many brothers & sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Charles E. Patterson and wife, Irene of Checotah and Melvin R. Patterson and wife Jeanie of Bakersville, Calif.; daughter, Becky L. Lautt and husband , Allen of Monterey, Tenn.; a brother, Doyle Holley of Bee Branch, Ark.; a sister, Connie E Patterson of Weleetka; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held December 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Allen Freewill Baptist Church in the Allen Community. Burial was at Likouski Cemetery under direction of Shurden Funeral Home.

AMOS BARNETT

Amos H. Barnett, 76, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Henryetta died Dec. 6, 2002 in Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Okfuskee County to Leah (Haney) Barnett and William Barnett.

He was married to Elizabeth (Marshal) Barnett in Norman on Aug. 20, 1976. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the Alabama Indian Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Buster Barnett, Frank Barnett and Haney Barnett.

Survivors include his wife, Liz Barnett of the home; daughter, Lori Harper of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Wake services will be Tuesday Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., in the Shurden Chapel. Funeral services will be Dec. 11 at the Shurden Chapel officiated by Rev. Gene Harjo and Rev. Marvin Lowe. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.

LEONARD NEWTON

Leonard L. Newton, 79, of Okmulgee, died Sunday, December 8, 2002 in Okmulgee. He was born August 12, 1923 to David and Genia (Davis) Newton in Richards, Colorado.

On February 26, 1943 he married Juliette R. Richardson in Erick, Oklahoma. He was a retired minister serving the Loma Alta Baptist Church in Loma Alta, Texas; Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Kansas; Plainview Southern Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas; and the First Baptist Church in Inola, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include wife, Juliette of the home; one son, Jeffrey Newton and wife, Shelley of Azel, Texas; three daughters, Janie Jackson and husband, Donald of Jacksonville, Ark., Julia Wonsch and husband, Roy of Okmulgee, and Janice Newton and husband, Abbas Movlai of Edmond; one brother, William James Newton and wife, Shirley of Gainsville, Texas; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews,

Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

Pallbearers are Byron Jackson, Jeff Newton, Don Jackson, Ron Jackson, Roy Wonsch, Frank Esch, Tommy Woodward, Tyler Woodward, William J. Newton and L.D. Littlefield.

JEREMIAH DIXON

Jeremiah Dixon, 79, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Okmulgee, died December 5, 2002 in Oklahoma City. He was born on Feb. 25, 1923 in the Sharp Community, Southwest of 0kmulgee.

He attended school in the Sharp Community and worked as a construction laborer. He has lived in the Oklahoma City area for over 50 years.

Survivors include his sons, Willie Dixon and Jerry Dixon, both of Fresno, California, and Sylvester Smith, Las Vegas, Nevada; his daughters, Louise Pittman and Joy Lynn Shaw, both of Oklahoma City and JaQuita Dixon of Fresno, Calif.; step-mother, Irene Dixon, Okmulgee; his brothers, Michael Dixon of Okmulgee, Thurman Dixon, Tulsa, Chester Borders and Sylvester Borders, both of Kansas City. Kan., Edward Dixon Jr., of Detroit, Mich., Lorenzo Davis of Seattle, Washington and Freddie Dixon of Atlanta, Georgia; his sisters, Odessa Burch of Denver, Colorado, Lois James of Indianapolis, Ind., Lucille Dixon-Foye and Barbara Williams, both of Omaha, Neb., Clarice Belton of Tulsa, Wilma Townsell of Beggs, Laverne Dixon-Gray of Okmulgee and Beatrice Davis of Seattle, Wash; a host of grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Service of Memory will be Thursday, Dec. 12 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Peace with Elder Oather Todd Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Northwest Cemetery in Okmulgee. Funeral services are under direction of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 Noon until 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

AMOS BARNETT

ANNIE BILLY

Annie Billy, 73, of Checoah died Dec. 6, 2002 at Tulsa. She was born March 2, 19929 at Hannah to the family of Johnson and Maggie Beaver Proctor. She was married to Frank Billy in December of 1950 at Hannah. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2002. She was a member of the Trenton Baptist Church where she held a Women's Leader position for many years. She loved to quilt, garden and bird watch. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ella Billy, Mandy Lowe; two brothers, Andy Proctor and Lewis Proctor and two children, Johnnie and Martha Billy.

Survivors include four sons, Daniel Billy of Welty, Thomas Billy of Checotah, David Billy of Broken Arrow and Franklin (Herb) Billy of Claremore; four daughters, Daria Hicks of Okemah, Gracine Hicks of Okemah, Gloria Billy of the home and Lisa Billy of Okemah; three brothers, John Proctor of Wetumka, Sam Proctor of Dustin and James Proctor of Glenpool; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wake services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Robert Simons Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Robert Simons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wallace Gambler officiating.

BLANCHE WALLACE

Blanche E. Wallace, 93, of Mannford formerly of the Okmulgee, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at the Cimarron Pointe Care Center in Mannford. She was born January 22, 2002 in Rolf, OK to Jess and Janie (Statham) Neely.

She moved to Okmulgee in 1926 and lived here until five years ago. Blanche married Glen Wallace February 23, 1927 in Okmulgee. He preceded her in death April 20, 1981. Mrs. Wallace loved to sew and go fishing, quilting and working in her garden. She was a member of the Crosstown Pentecostal Holiness Church in Okmulgee.

Survivors include her daughters Mildred Randolph of Mannford and Betty Gainer of Oklahoma City. Her parents, five brothers and sisters and her husband preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am on Friday, December 13, 2007 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with the Reverend Willis Baldridge officiating. Interment will be under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2002 from 12 noon until 5:00 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel.

JEREMIAH DIXON

Jeremiah Dixon, 79, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Okmulgee, died December 5, 2002 in Oklahoma City. He was born on Feb. 25, 1923 in the Sharp Community, Southwest of 0kmulgee.

ANNA M. DAMERON

Anna Mary Dameron,69, of Henryetta died December 11, 2002 in Tulsa. She was born October 24, 1933 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Nick and Molly Cacia.

She married Rex N. Dameron on February 11, 1950 in Yuma, Ariz., and was a homemaker. Anna attended the Catholic Church. Her parents, two sons, Larry and Bruce, two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Rex N. Dameron of the home three sons, Michael and wife Sharron Dameron of Henryetta, Jerry and wife Kimberli Dameron of Henryetta and Tom Dameron of Ohio; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a brother; Louie Cacia of California.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2002 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Henryetta.

DARRELL D. BUSH

Darrell D. Bush, 59, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the Cleaves Memorial CME Church in Okmulgee with the Reverend Anthony Butler officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

He was born on Tuesday, February 2, 1943 to Darel and Oma Jean (Waters) Bush in Troy, Ohio. On December 24, 1986 he married Ramona Faye (Love) in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1994 he retired from Ball Brothers Glass after 33 years where he had worked as a supervisor but enjoyed working best as an operator. He was also a member of the local union. He had also worked for Dick Bailey Motor Company.

Mr. Bush enjoyed bowling, fishing and football and was an avid Bingo player. His fondest memories were of spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ralph and Mildred Waters, mother Oma Jean Bush; son, Dean Douglas Bush; and brother, Michael Bush.

Survivors include wife, Ramona of the home; father, Darel Bush and wife, Lee of Oregon; one daughter, Deborah Hall and husband, Larry of Morris; two sons, Darel Bush and David Morgan Bush, both of Okmulgee; one step-son, Robert Corey Love and wife, Kiley of Okmulgee: two brothers, Ralph Bush and wife, Vicki of Florida and David Bush and wife, Sheila of Arkansas; mother-in-law, Essie Cowans of Okmulgee; best friend, Norman McMillian of Okmulgee; grandchildren, Kyle Bush, Brittny Bush, David Morgan Bush, Robert and Rebecca Salyer, Tori and Cace Love; and Great grandchild, Rylan Salyer.

Pallbearers are Edward James, Calvin Littlejohn, Len Payne, Anthony Andrew and Martin Sheared. Flower girls are Donna Sheared, Theresa Haygood, Sharon Peppers and Mary Dean.

Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2002 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

RYAN HERRON

Ryan Keith Herron, 29, a former resident of Okmulgee, died Wednesday, Dec. 11th in McAlester, OK. He was born Nov. 30, 1973 in Kansas City, Mo., to Clemon and Frances (Artry) Herron.

He attended Okmulgee Public Schools. He was preceded in death is his father, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandmother.

Survivors include his mother, Frances (Harris) Wise, Lawrenceville, Georgia; a son, JerMel DeMar Herron, Oklahoma City; one brother, Curtis Artry, Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Joyce Neal and Benita Hall, both of Norcross, Ga.; Terri Harris, Lawrenceville, Ga.; his paternal grandfather, Clemon Herron, Stuttgart, Ark.; along with other relatives and friends.

A service of Memory will be conducted, Wednesday, Dec. 18th in the Precious Memories Chapel, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Wesley Forbes, of the Varick Chapel A.M.E. Zion church, Tulsa, officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 12 Noon until 6 p.m.

HAZEL RICHARDSON

Hazel Richardson, 73, a long time Okmulgee resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 11th in a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 29, 1929 in Okmulgee to William and Ophelia (Holt) Richardson. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Hubert Guillory, Okmulgee, one sister, Alma Strong, Okmulgee, two grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

Funeral mass will be celebrated, Tuesday Dec. 17th at 10 a.m. at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church with Fr. Amalor Vima, the celebrant. Scripture Reading will be Monday, 7:00 p.m. in the Precious Memories Chapel.

The Knights of Peter Claver will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec.16 from 12 Noon until 7:00 p.m.
