CULLY L. HUDSON

Cully Louis Hudson, 25, a resident of Oklahoma City died Jan. 28, 2003. He was born September 18,1977 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

He was self-employed as a singer and songwriter. He was a member of The Church on the Rock, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Jennings, maternal grandmother, Pearline Day, and paternal grandmother, Viola Turney.

Survivors include his mother, Lou Hudson of Oklahoma City, a sister Faith Hudson, Oklahoma City, brother Caleb Hudson, Oklahoma City, several aunts, uncles, friends and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Chris Fair, Thaddeus Davis, Richie Vamell, Mike LeGrand, Matt LeGrand, and Jon LeGrand.

Services will be held Friday, January 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Shurden Chapel officiated by Pastor Rhett Benefiel. Burial will be at Robertson Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.

LOUIS WILKERSON

Louis Douglas Wilkerson, Jr. 76, a resident of the city, died Monday, Jan. 27th in a Tulsa hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1926 in Okmulgee County to Louis Sr. and Magnolia (Brooks) Wilkerson.

Preceding him in death are his parents, one sister and one brother.

Survivors include, three sisters, Ruthie Sweatt, Okla. City, OK, Ola Mae Grovane, Okla City, OK and Rosie Morgan, Tulsa, OK; two brothers, Satchell Wilkerson and Wilbert Morgan, both of Okmulgee, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A service of memory will be conducted, Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 11 a m. in the Precious Memories Chapel with Rev. James Littlejohn, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home. Visitation, Friday, 12 Noon to 6pm

Ruth L. Mantle

Ruth Lucille Mantle, 93, a resident of Okmulgee since 1932, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003 in Okmulgee. Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at the Kelley Chapel in Okmulgee with Pastor Charlie Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

She was born on Sunday, April 4, 1909 to Ada (Vaught) and Elmer Parker in Lincoln, Arkansas and was a graduate of Wewoka High School. She worked as a housewife and an accomplished seamstress who loved to quilt and sew. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Lee Capshaw, and second husband, Doskey "Doc" Mantle.

Survivors include one son, John Capshaw and wife, Betty of Kerryville, Texas, one daughter, Carol Hudson and husband Dr. Richard of Tulsa; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m.- 8 p.m.

The family requests that memorials be made in her name to the First Christian Church of Okmulgee or to the Charity of your choice.

WILFREDA ROBBINS CAMPBELL

Wilfreda Robbins Campbell, 89, longtime Okmulgee resident, died Tuesday afternoon, January 28, 2003 at Rebold Manor. She was born January 11, 1914 in Carthage, Missouri to Wilfred and Myrtle (Mealy) Robbins.

She graduated from Okmulgee High School and later married Clifford James Campbell on June 28, 1947 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Okmulgee. Preceding her in death was her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Brooks of Norman, and Donna Parsons and husband Terry of Okmulgee, four grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jeff Cranton officiating. A private family burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

ROCKY GENE HINDS

Rocky Gene Hinds, 46, a longtime resident of Preston, died Saturday, January 25, 2003 in Rio Rico, Arizona. He was born on Friday, December 7, 1956 to Wava Gay (Boyd) and Benny Hinds in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Services are 2:00 p.m Monday, February 3, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee with the Reverend Jim Waller and Reverend Dale Litsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

He was preceded in death by step-father, Fred Dahl; grandparents, Ray and Rose Hinds and Charles and Bonnie Boyd.

Survivors include father, Benny Hinds of El Reno, Oklahoma; mother, Gay Dahl of Preston; two step-sons, Anthony Brewer and wife, Kathy of Tulsa and Greg Brewer of Muskogee; two grandchildren, three brothers, Charles Hinds and wife, Candy of Preston, Waylon Dahl and wife, Mary of Preston, and Curtis Hinds and wife, Susan of Yukon, two sister, Carla Massery and husband, James of Preston and Denise Bomhoff of Cherokee; other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Scoggins, Nelson Jacobs, Bruce Berryhill, Jimbo Baker, Dennis Mann, Robert Ladd, Steve Bolen, Jeff Allen, Josh Cotton, Dusty Woods, Brent Woods, Shawn Mooney, Brian Battenfield, Don Callicoat and Hans Kurtsinger.

BRENDA MESSER

Brenda Joyce Messer, 55, of Catoosa, passed away Monday, January 27, 2003 at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She was born June 10, 1947 in Okmulgee to Dallard and Juanita (Simmons) McCart. She was a homemaker and had lived in Tulsa since 1973.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Debbie McCart.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Messer of the home, a son, Mike Messer and wife Robyn of Catoosa, a daughter, Marsha Holland and husband Chris of Tulsa, her mother, Juanita McCart of Okmulgee, four sisters, Dahlita Tracy of Okmulgee, Kaye Everett of Beggs, Jane Wood of Tulsa and Sue Hicks of Broken Arrow, a brother, David McCart of Holdenville, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Lawrence Matlock of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

LEOMA WOOD JORDAN

Leoma Wood Jordan, 80, of Wichita Falls, TX, died Thursday, January 20, 2003. She was born on April 11, 1922 in Ludlow, OK to Frank and Della Katherine (Kennedy) Hinds. On December 12, 1937, she married Walter M. Wood in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1979. In October of 1983, she married Walter A. Jordan. He preceded her in death in November of 1988. She was a homemaker for most of her life and a member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Emma Lou Botisser, Juanita Nadine Coverdill, son, Grady Ray Wood, Sr., and siblings, Lena Brisco, Lillie Strickland, and Mamie Mikle.

Survivors include her children, Ernest Leon Wood and Vickie Bell, both of Wichita Falls, and Robert Bell and wife JoAnn of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother, Homer Jack Hinds of Jacksboro; sister, Viola Kirkpatrick of Talihina, OK; 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 1, 2003 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls with the Rev. Ron Barnard, pastor of Heritage Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment was scheduled to follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery.

For those desiring, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

NEVA N. BENCH

Neva Nadine Bench, 70, a former resident of Okmulgee, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 in Rockwell, Texas. Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

Ms. Bench was born August 27, 1932 to Nora (Collins) and Lee O. Bench in Okmulgee. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred; and brother, Marvin.

Survivors include three brothers, Lee O. Bench Jr. and wife, Helen R. of Moody Texas, Marvin J. Bench and wife, Joyce of Granite Shoals, Texas and Kenneth L. Bench of Rockwall, Texas, and one sister, Martha B. Shivery of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 m.

AARON COFFEY

Aaron Lee Coffey, 65, a resident of Vernon, OK died Saturday, Feb. l, 2003 in a Tulsa, hospital. He was born May 3, 1937 in Omaha, TX to Rev. A.D. and Christine (Thirdgill) Coffey.

He was a long distance truck driver and had served in the U.S. Marine Corp., receiving an honorable discharge.

Preceding him in death is his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheryl Coffey, Okla. City, OK; three sisters, Lauvirva and husband, George Allen, Pensacola, FL; Jane and husband Rev. Claiborne Fields, Vernon, OK; Georgianna and husband Steve McCutchin, Oakland, CA, one grandson, with numerous relatives and friends.

Service of memory will be conducted, Saturday, 2 P.M. in the New Hope Baptist Church, Vernon, OK with the pastor, Rev. Claiborne Fields, officiating. Burial will be Monday, Feb. l0th at 10 a.m. in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.

GLORIA DOMBEK

Gloria F. Dombek, 78, of Henryetta died Feb, 1, 2003 at Henryetta. She was born November 23, 1924 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Margaret (Crawford) Evington and Bob Evington.

She was married to Stanley Dombek in Henryetta on April 21, 1941. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and St. Michael's Alter Society. She was 1987.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley Dombek, of the home; one son, Stanley J. Dombek; Jr. M.D. & wife Susan, Midwest City; one brother, Billy Carl Evington, Muskogee; one sister, Patsy Evington, Tampa Bay, Florida; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, officiated by father Joseph V. Chirayath. Burial will be at Westlawn under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.

EARNEST CORNWELL

Earnest Marvin Cornwell, 83, a long time resident of the Bald Hill Community died at his home, March 10, 2003. He was born in Beggs, OK, November 3, 1919 to Obe and Cora Sparks Cornwell.

Earnest was a retired farmer and a deacon at the Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, and on Sept. 14, 2002 his wife Inez.

Survivors include, one son, Herman Cornwell of Ft. Gibson; one daughter, Minuetta Edwards of Tulsa; one sister Lou Ella Draper (Rufus), Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Services will be conducted, Saturday, March, 15, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Twin Hills School Gymnasium, Bald Hill, OK., with Rev. Ray Lennox Jr., delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Bald Hill Cemetery under the direction of the House Of Winn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, 12 noon until 6:00 p.m.

DOROTHY L. SNOW

Dorothy Lou Snow, 68, longtime Okmulgee resident died Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born May 31, 1934 in Henryetta, OK to Clyde and Georgia (Brown) Snow.

She enjoyed quilting, walks and fishing when she wasn't working as an office manager at Dick Bailey's Auto Dealership.

Survivors include a niece Jami D. Townley of Moore, OK.

Those that preceded her in death are her parents and two brothers Donald Snow and James Snow.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial is under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
