Pearl (Blagg) Pittman
Graveside services for Pearl (Blagg) Pittman, Holdenville were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 with Bill Wooten officiating, assisted by Gene Holliman. Interment was in the Holdenville Cemetery with Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Pittman was born July 12, 1906 in Gravelly, Ark. to John Thomas and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" (Weaver) Blagg. She died Dec. 15, 1999.
Mrs. Pittman was raised by her grandmother, Jenetta (Coleman) Weaver in Spaulding, and lived there until her marriage to John Pittman. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1970.
She was a housewife and a member of the Sulphur Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years before moving to Holdenville.
She is survived by the families of nieces and nephews Leon Blagg, Don Blagg and Earlene Blagg Chandler, Sulphur and Kaye Blagg Young, Oklahoma City; a half brother and sister John Thomas Blagg, Jr. and Mary Nell Blagg Menees, Calif.
She was preceded in death by Grady, Rassie, Earl, Violet, Savola, Lois, and Lee Blagg, and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins with whom she grew up.

Emma Lee Biby
Services for Emma Lee Biby, 80, Chickasha were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000 at the Northside Church of Christ with Doug Sikes officiating. Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
Mrs. Biby was born July 10, 1919 in Bromide to William Kirk and Rebecca Myers Kirk. She died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 in Chickasha.
On July 18, 1938 she married Grady Biby in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1977.
Mrs. Biby came to the Chickasha and surrounding area in Feb. 1939. She has been a member of the Norrose Extension Club since 1968. She worked at the Gibson Discount Store for five years. She did volunteer work at the Pink House Community Center and was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rebecca Kirk, an infant son, Vernon Don Biby, son, Lucky Charley Biby, one daughter, Delores Ann Cheatwood and one great grandson, and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Logan Waldrup, Oklahoma City; a son and daughter-in-law, Grady Glen and Linda Biby, Mattawan, Mich.; a son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Betty Biby, Lexington; daughter-in-law, Thelma Biby, Chickasha; 13 grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother.

Ruby M. Pinkston
Services for Ruby M. Pinkston, 76, Davis were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2000 at Cowley-Krein Funeral Home with Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment was in the Dougherty Cemetery, Dougherty with Cowley-Krien Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Pinkston was born Dec. 16, 1923 in Sulphur to George F. Newby and Delia Newby Williams. She died Jan. 4, 2000 in Ardmore on June 6, 1943 she married Jay Pinkston in Duncan, Ariz.
Mrs. Pinkston was born and raised in Sulphur. She moved to Arizona in 1943 and to California in 1944. She moved back to Arizona in 1946 and came to Sulphur and the Murray County area 1958 where she lived the remainder of her life.
She was a retired record keeper and was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister Edith Stowell and brother, Jerry Phillips Williams.
Mrs. Pinkston is survived by her husband, Jay Pinkston, of the home; one son, Don Pinkston, Dougherty; one daughter, Vicki McCartney and husband Bill, Healdton; a granddaughter, Melissa McCartney, Healdton; three sisters, Mary Jenson, Sulphur, Della Gates, Ruby, S.C., and Suzi Loehman, Maud; four brothers, George Raymond Newby, Hamlitt, N.C.; Junior Williams, St. Louis; Sam Williams, Oklahoma City; and foster brother, Don Tyson, Marsh Field, Mo.
Pallbearers were Jim Burk, Tim Colbert, Mickey Warren, Wade Holcomb, Billy F. Lance, and Marvin McCracken.
Honorary pallbearers were John Jamison, Diddle Hale, Terry Todd, Jim Lance, Monte Lucas, B.K. Ashford, David Ashford and Aaron Coll.

Troy Wayne Flowers
Services for Troy Wayne Flowers, 55, Sulphur were held at 2:00 p.m. Sat., Jan. 8, 2000 at Clagg Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Cannon officiating. Interment was in the Iona Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Flowers was born Sat., April 15, 1944 in Sulphur to Jessie James Flowers and Beulah Brownfield Flowers. He died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000 in Ada.
He was married to Mary McCulley.
Mr. Flowers had lived in this area most of his life. He was a veteran of Viet Nam and had served in the National Guard for 24 years. He worked as a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; three daughters, Kathy Flowers, Sulphur, Fredda Mester, Durant and Sandy Campbell, Edmond; one son, Terry Flowers, Sulphur; two step-daughters, Billie Bolin, Stratford, Rebecca Allen, Tupelo; one step-son, Steve McCulley, Vanoss; three brothers, Denver Flowers, Ada, Frank Flowers and L.A. Flowers, both of Sulphur; three sisters, Juanita Wieber, Ariz., Loretta Porter, Ardmore and Dorothy Cottle, Moore; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild and the mother of his children, Julia Mayo, Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Albert Flowers; two sisters, Margaret Delisle and Patsy Howard.
Pallbearers were Tony Gordon, Jim Brown, Terry Dodson, Johnny Mester, Donald Green and John Mester.
An honorary pallbearer was John Atteberry.

Roy Ray Houston
Graveside services for Roy Ray Houston, 78, Wetumka were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 with Rev. Joe Molencupp officiating. Interment was in the Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Houston was born Wed., Dec. 21, 1921 Greenville, Texas. He died Wed., Jan. 5, 2000 in Oklahoma City.
On April 7, 1988 he married Martha Dean Shelton at Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Houston grew up in Texas, worked as a farmer, oil field worker and on the railroad. He moved to Sulphur in 1980 and had lived in Wetumka the past two years.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Houston, Wetumka; one daughter, Martha Morris, Sulphur and one son, Thomas Baker, Sulphur; two brothers, Jay O'Neal and Rube O'Neal; two sisters, Ruth Collins and Hattie B.

Mattie Lorene Black
Services are pending for Mattie Lorene Black, 43, Sulphur.
Lorene was born May 24, 1957 in Sulphur to James Blanton and Louise Britt. She died June 5, 2000 at University Hospital, Oklahoma City.
On Oct. 28, 1996 she married Robert Black in Sulphur.
Louise was born and raised in Sulphur. She attended Sulphur Schools, worked for Jim's Grocery and Chickasaw Telephone Company for the last 19 years. She was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her mother and step-father; one son, Joe Gordon, Sulphur; one daughter, Katherine Gordon; a step son, Robert Lynn Black, Tishomingo; two step daughters, Rhonda Lawson, Kenefic and Malinda Turner, Durant; three brothers, Charlie Blanton, David Blanton, and Dewayne Blanton, all of Sulphur; two step brothers, Robert Price and Kenneth Price, both of Sulphur; one sister, Juanita Hazlitt, Wynnewood; four step sisters, Pearl Knighten, Elizabeth McCracken, both of Sulphur; Carmen Gordon, Roff and Jo Ann Gooch, Davis.

Lorena K. Branch
Services for Lorena K. Branch, 97, Sulphur were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000 at Sulphur United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Moody officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Mrs. Branch was born Sunday, Nov. 2, 1902 in Tom Bean, Texas to H. C. King and Betty King. She died Tuesday, May 30, 2000 in Ardmore.
She married William Edward Branch. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Mrs. Branch grew up in the Muskogee area. Attended school in Muskogee, received her teaching degree from OSU. She taught elementary school in Carlsbad, N.M. and Phoenix, AZ. She was a member of the Tulip Garden Club, Christian Women Club, and Methodist Women. While in the nursing home she taught patients to read. She would read and write letters for the residents of the Nursing Home.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-laws, W.E. "Ed" and Sue Branch, Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Mike Hickson, Scottsdale, AZ., William Edward Branch III, City of Industry, CA., Doug Branch, Norco, CA., Liz McClure, Sulphur, Alex Johns and Drake Johns both of Washington and Randy Johns, Florida; 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Orena Branch, Lorena Hickson, Pat Johns, and one great grandson, Matthew McClure; and her twin sister.
In memory of Lorena Branch, Donations may be made to Sulphur Methodist Church building fund.

John E. Ballenger
Services for John E. Ballenger, 47, Sulphur were held for at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2000 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. James Swain, Rev. Eddie Malphrus and Rev. Danny Masters officiating. Interment was in the Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
John was born Wed., March 18, 1953 in Sulphur to Jack Edward Ballenger and Emma Stout Ballenger. He died Sunday, June 4, 2000 in Sulphur.
John has lived in this area all of his life. Graduated from Sulphur High School in 1971. He attended college at UCO in Edmond. He had worked as a Land-man. He was a member of the Sulphur-Davis Elks Lodge and the Calvary Baptist Church.
John is survived by his mother, Emma Ballenger, Sulphur; three sisters, Mary Brewer, Sulphur, Linda Ainstein, Houston, Del. and Jane Chaney, Livingston, Mont.; niece and her husband, Crystal and Todd Whitfield, Sulphur; niece, Shelby Brewer, Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers, Mike Tilden, John Colbert, David Griffis, Billy Frank Lance, Mark Colbert, David Pittman and Tim Colbert.
Honorary Pallbearers, Sulphur-Davis Elks Lodge.

Danny Lee Nevious
Graveside Services for Danny Lee Nevious, 52, Sulphur were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2000 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Bud Ross officiating. Service were under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Mr. Nevious was born Thursday, July 31, 1947 at El Dorado, IL. to Arthur Lee Nevious and Mary Ellen Gann Nevious. He died Saturday, June 3, 2000 in Sulphur.
Mr. Nevious grew up in Galatia, Ill., attended school in Galatia. He spent six years i the Army and moved to Sulphur in 1985. He was a Laborer and of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Nevious, Ada; four step-children, Jim Stultz, Sulphur, Rick Stultz, Redding, CA., Carrie Stultz and Crystal Nelson both of Sulphur; two sisters, Barbara Sloan, Davis and Kay Tyler, Sulphur; five grandchildren, A.J., Earl, Rick, Tyler and Anthony; Edna Woodring, Harrah; two nieces, Linda and Jannie; two nephews, Christopher and Richard; nine great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were Richard Campbell, Rick Smith, Jim Stultz, Clifford Woodring, Christopher Tyler and Chris Imotichey.
