Larry Duane Smith
Funeral services for Larry Duane Smith, 61, Jones, were held at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home chapel in Davis with Rev. James Densman officiating. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery with Fox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born May 27, 1943 in San Diego, Calif. to George Thomas Smith and Jessie Louise Sims Smith, he died Friday, Dec. 3 at Jones.
He had lived in Ohio before moving to Davis where he graduated from high school. After graduation he lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma City and the Jones areas.
He is survived by three sisters and their husbands, Karen and Gene Reed, Shawnee, Linda and Jerry Meyer, Okmulgee and Shari and Craig Morgan, Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Gale and Jody Smith, Lee's Summit, Mo. and Jeff and Peggy Leger, Oklahoma City; his stepfather, Albert Leger and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Leger and a sister, Pam Goddard.
Family members served as pallbearers.

Jack David Bearden
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 3 in Spencer for Jack David Bearden, 62, Harrah. Interment was in Arlington Memorial Gardens in Spencer. Born November 30, 1942 in Sulphur to Stanley and Gearldine Seigler, he died Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Harrah.
He was a 1960 graduate of Sulphur High School and spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of the home; four daughters, Devonia and Rochell Bearden, of the home; Lisa Jordan, Edmond and Coleen Edgeman, Dade City, Fla.; four granddaughters, Corinna and Riley Ferguson, Edmond and Kaitlyn and Emily Edgeman, Dade City, Fla; four sisters, Ann Chandler, Van Buren, Ark., Diane Stewart, Oklahoma City and Tena Cain and Jessie Seigler, both of Sulphur and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Faye Moore, Oklahoma City and one great nephew, Derec Chandler, Van Buren, Ark. and his grandparents.

John Alden McDonald
Memorial services for John Alden McDonald, 64, St Marys, Ga., were held Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Allison Memorial Chapel with Richard Jackson officiating. Masonic Lodge members of Camden County assisted in the Flag presentation. Allison Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
He died Wednesday, Nov. 24 at his residence.
A native of Lawton, he had lived in Camden County, Georgia for the past five years and was a retired welder and pipefitter. He was retired from the U.S. Navy with 19 years of service and a Viet Nam veteran. He was a Shriner and member of the masonic F&AM Lake Como Lodge and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, St. Marys, Ga., three sons, Lindell McDonald, Gene Autry, David McDonald, Atlantic Beach, Fla, and Larry Peterson, Elkton, Fla.; two daughters, Darnette (De-De) Milicia, Kingsland, Ga. and Tracey Peterson, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Gladys Cass, Pawhuska, Jessie Clary, Sulphur, Patricia Kipworth, Oklahoma City and Mamie Eddy, Davis; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Marian Sue (Splawn) Grove
Marian Sue (Splawn) Grove, 62, of Norman, died and entered her heavenly reward on Thursday, February 3, 2005, in Oklahoma City, after a courageous 42-year fight against the complications of diabetes. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 7, 2005, at Bethel Baptist Church in Norman with Reverend James Ehrlich officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m, at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Grove was born December 16, 1942, in Frederick, to Marion W. and Gladys L. (Agee) Splawn. She was raised in Sulphur. Sue was a gifted pianist who also enjoyed singing with her church choir. She is best described as an "inspiration" to all who knew her.
Mrs. Grove was preceded in death by her father, Marion W. Splawn; grandparents, Roxie and Clark Splawn, and Molly and Raymond Agee.
Survivors include her mother, Lucille, of the home; husband of 42 years, Barry, of the home; daughter, Tracie Steinhour and husband, Keith, of Blanchard; three grandson, Jacob, Keith Jr. and Michael, all of Blanchard; two aunts, Irene Coston and Betty Moore; and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Children's Building Fund, 1717 W. Lindsey, Norman, Oklahoma 73069 or the Oklahoma Diabetes Foundation.

Leslie Edward White
Services for Leslie Edward White, 75, Davis were held Monday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Chapel with Dwight Brown and David White officiating. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery with Fox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born in Davis on May 1, 1929 to John David White and Vandella (Morris) White, he died Saturday, Feb. 5 at Ardmore.
He married Jeanne (Brooks) White at Davis on April 12, 1957 and had lived in the Davis area most of his life. He served in Korea while in the U.S. Army and later worked as supervisor for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the East Main Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lester (Slug) White.
Surviving are his wife, Jeanne, Davis; a daughter, Leslie Carol Burgess, Gunter, Texas; a son and his wife, David and Denise White, Davis; a daughter and her husband, Sandy and David Holybee, Ardmore and six grandchildren, Daniel Lee Burgess, Angela Lee Ann Burgess, Terry Leslie Burgess, Ashley Brooke Thomsen, Nicholas Benjamin White and Jordan Mitchell White.

Emma Lou Currie
Graveside services for Emma Lou Currie, 78, Wynnewood, were held Saturday, Feb. 5 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore with DeArman Funeral Home, Wynnewood in charge of arrangements.
Born September 9, 1926 to Jack and Beulah Riddle in Ardmore, she died Wednesday, Feb. 2 at her home in Wynnewood.
She married Marvin Currie in Salines, Calif., on November 22, 1945 in Phoenix, Ariz. In 1948 they moved to Wynnewood where they raised their family and spent their remaining years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Beulah Riddle; a son, Mitch Currie, a granddaughter, Sherry Johnson and a brother, Jack Riddle.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; one daughter, Sandy Johnson and her husband, Charlie, Wynnewood; one son, Randy Currie and his wife, Debi, Durant; two sisters, Peggy Harvey and her husband, Bub, Ardmore and Betty Terry and her husband, Terry, California; six grandchildren, Shelly Burch, Sulphur, Shana Burch, Wynnewood, Jeremy Currie, Coleman, C. R. Johnson, Wynnewood, Melisa Burkhart, Durant; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody and Austin Burch, Dylan and Shelby Johnson, Shay and Justin Burch, Madison, Derek and Jaci Currie, Tiffany Johnson and Avery Burkhart.

Leon William Richards
Services for Leon William Richards, 94, Lawton, were held Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Marlow with Rev. Loyd Ashenfelter and Leroy Richard officiating. Interment was in Marlow Cemetery.
Born April 17, 1910 in Grady County to B. R. and Carrie (Miller) Richards, he died Saturday, Feb. 5 at Lawton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verbie Bird Mae Brown, on September 6, 1990.
He had lived in Stephens and Grady counties and in Murray County for 30 years where he farmed and was an engineer for the Sulphur Veterans Center. He was a deacon at the 5th Street Baptist Church in Marlow.
He is survived by two sons, Leroy Richards and wife, Virginia, Broken Arrow and Terrell Richards and wife, Maxine, Glencoe; a daughter, Beverly Snider, and her husband, David, Lawton; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elmer Richards and a granddaughter, Kim Richards.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the 5th Street Baptist Church.

Floyd Clyde Hector
Graveside services for Floyd Clyde Hector, 78, Sulphur, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Neil Hector officiating. Cowley-Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur will be in charge of arrangements.
Born July 8, 1926 in Sulphur to Charles and Lottie Ann Hawthorn Hector, he died Sunday, Feb. 6 in Sulphur. He married Rachel Griffith on July 28, 1956 in Sulphur.
Execpt for his time spent in the Army during WWII, he lived his entire life in Murray County. He loved gardening, Western novels and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Brown and Edna Goldsberry; four brothers, Velarce, Rosco, Edgar and Hack Hector and his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Rachel, of the home; two sons, Mark and Mike Hector, Sulphur; one daughter, Tamy Renee Burgess, Ft. Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Hector, Sulphur and Smokey Hector, Wilburton; one brother-in-law, Ezra Goldsberry; a special sister-in-law, Minnie Petitt, Sulphur and a special niece, Sara Hector, Sulphur.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry and Dakota Hector, Donald Green, Jerry Sandford, Harold Swain and Felix Hoffman.

Doak Clark
Services for Doak Clark, 71, Mill Creek, were held Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2:00 p.m. with Leslie Clark, John Clark, James Tisdell and Artie Quinton officiating. Interment was in Mill Creek Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born June 28, 1933 in Mill Creek to Clifford Clark and Amanda Samantha Harris Clark, he died Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Ardmore.
He married Joan Bailey on December 4, 1954 at Ardmore.
A retired supervisor at U.S. Silica, he had lived in the Mill Creek area all his life, graduating from Mill Creek High School in 1952. He was the great grandson of Cyrus Harris, the first governor of the Chickasaw Nation. He was a member of the Mill Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church and served as a deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Joan, of the home; two daughters, Elathia Hodges and her husband, David, Ada and Elesia Kirk, Mill Creek; two sons, John Clark and Scott Clark and his wife, Gayle, both of Mill Creek; two brothers, Don Clark, Mill Creek and Milton Clark, Durant; a sister, Evelyn Gale, Durant; six grandchildren, Randall Clark, Matt Clark, Jahna Clark, Trey Bond, Kami Kirk, James Bond and friend Sabrina and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harris Clark, C.C. Clark, Leslie Clark and Maurice Clark.
Pallbearers were Ray Dodd, Bill Kiddie, James West, Brian Brister, Ed Henley and Jim Wilson.
Honorary bearers were grandsons and Ronald Aduddell.

Margaret Gertrude Thomas
Services for Margaret Gertrude Thomas, 82, Davis were held Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Davis with Rev. J. D. Thomas, Jr., Dr. D. M. Eggenberg and Bro. Don Jacquez officiating. Interment was in Green Hill Cemetery with Krien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born January 7, 1923 to John and Elnora Davis Hawkins, she died at Burford Manor Nursing Home in Davis on February 3.
A graduate of Davis High School, she married Foster Thomas in 1940. She worked at Frank Morgan Grocery in Davis for 10 years before she and her husband purchased the store in 1962, renaming it Thomas Grocery. The couple operated the store for several years before selling it. She then managed a store in Sulphur for Pauline Stumpff. The couple then repurchased the Davis store several years later and operated it for several more years before retiring in 1976. After retiring, she worked as a U.S. rural route mail carrier in the Countyline and Ratliff City areas.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Jim W. and Kay Thomas, Moore; one daughter, Thelma Jean Holder, Davis; one sister, Johnnie Mae Beller, Muskogee; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John David Thomas; two brothers, Vester Hawkins and Lester Hawkins; one sister, Thelma Craig and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Delford Fox, Randy Moore, Gary Fullerton, Joe Thomas, Buster Coppenbarger and Edgar Lee.
