Donald Ray Ramer
Services for retired Sulphur lawman Donald Ray Ramer, 69, Sulphur will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the Midway Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Williard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Ramer Cemetery, Sulphur, with Krien Funeral Home of Davis in charge of arrangements.
Born October 1, 1937 to Sebe and Vern (Gallagher) Ramer in Norris, Okla., he died Monday, Nov. 20 in Sulphur.
Don was a retired Sulphur Police Chief, retired deputy sheriff and retired security officer at the Sulphur Veterans Center. He was also retired as a volunteer Sulphur fireman. He married Lois (Richison) Ramer on May 17, 1958.
Surviving are his wife, Lois, of the home; his mother, Vern Ramer Gallagher; his mother-in-law, Mary Uzzell; one son, Donnie Ramer and wife, Rita, Sulphur; one daughter, Pam Hefley and husband, Stan, Davis; two brothers, Jerry Ramer and wife, Nell, Omaha, Neb. and Joe Ramer and wife, Linda, Sulphur; one sister-in-law, Pat Ramer, Sulphur; five grandchildren, Tom Hefley and wife, Julie, Davis, Patrick Hefley and wife, Elissa, Davis, Banks Ramer O'Kelley and wife, Amber, Sulphur, Ashley Ramer Parrish, Sulphur and Jodi Dawn Ramer, Sulphur; two great grandchildren, Braeden Nicole Hefley, and Dalton Ray Hefley, both of Davis and cousins Barbara Pruitt, J. R. Threet, Robert Prock, Joker and Coonie Martin along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sebe Ramer and one brother, Frank Ramer.
Family members served as pallbearers. Honorary bearers were Sulphur Police and retirees, Sulphur firemen and retirees, Murray County Sheriff's Department and retirees, Charlie Birch, Roger Kite, Fuzz Kennedy, Tuffy Lee, Junior Clary, Charlie Tingle, David Pittman, Lonnie Ozbirn, Dean Pittman, Tiny Day, Rocky Hughes, James Hefley, Billy Cook, Tom Dooley Payne, Sammy Jones, Novis Thompson, Bill Braden and Charlie Simpson.

Gerhardt T. "Gary" Hansen
Monday, Nov. 27 at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemtery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born July 22, 1932 in Avalon, Calif. to Gerhardt G. Hansen and Ruth Ann LaRose Hansen, he died Monday, Nov. 20 in Sulphur.
He married Marjorie L. Booth on May 14, 1955 in Bellflower, Calif. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1998.
He grew up in California, graduating from Catalina Island High School. He joined the Air Force after high school and moved to Sulphur in 1975. He was a retired appliance store owner, member of the Sulphur Masonic Lodge and he served in the Air Force in the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Donna and David Hampton and Marjorie L. and Tom Burton, all of Sulphur and Jane L. and Roger Guinn, Spiro; two sons and their wives, Gerhardt R. and Deborah Hansen, Harbor Beach, Mich. and George L. and Teresa Hansen, Sulphur; two brothers, Wayne Hansen, Idaho and Johhnny Spencer, California; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family members served as pallbearers. Honorary bearers were members of the Tinker Air Force Base Honor Guard and the Sulphur Masonic Lodge.

Freda O. Allen
Services for Freda O. Allen, 83, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the Central Church east of Davis with Brother Thomas Thompson and Allan Dale officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis with Hale's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born January 1, 1923 in Meridian, Texas to Allford M. and Bertha F. (Lindsey) Thompson, she died Monday, Nov. 27 in Decatur, Texas.
She married Herman C. Allen on September 14, 1939 in Meridian, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Keith Allen and a sister, Faye Hudson.
Freda was very active with the Davis Senior Citizens Center. She was a loyal member of the TOPS club and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Jan Davis, Sulphur, Brenda Bell, Davis and Pam Haskell, Springtown, Texas; two sons, Ricky Allen, Duncan and Randall Allen, Davis; one brother, B. E. Thompson; three sisters, Loucille Oliver, Mary Owen and Louise Young; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Webb, Mike and Ryan Haskell, Jeffrey and Derek Allen, Jimmy Salter, Buddy Vinyard and Jackie Don Sadler. Honorary bearers will be Randy Moore, Pete Byrd and D. O. Salter.

Francis W. Howell
Services for Francis W. Howell, 90, a former resident of Sulphur for many years, were held Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Newell-Hoerling Funeral Home in Centralia, Washington, with Chaplain Steve Trent officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery, Auburn, Washington.
Frank was the eldest of three children of Francis and Bernice Govett Howell, and worked in the Howell Dairy until he joined the 8th Air Force in England, where he served for three years during World War II. After the war, he moved to Seattle, Washington. He was joined there by his mother and brother, who lived together near Auburn until his mother died in 1989.
Frank and his brother, Bill, then moved to Chehalis, Washington, and continued to live together there until Frank's death.
Survivors included a brother, John W. Howell, Chehalis, Wash., and a sister, Marion Howell Peter, Washington, DC., four nieces and one nephew.

Mary Elizabeth Bacon
Services for Mary Elizabeth Bacon, 89, Sulphur were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 28 with Rev. Billy Ward and Perry Pruitt officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born June 4, 1917 in Yuma, Colo., to Frank Carl and Marie Alice (Fletcher) Goulding, she died Thursday, Nov. 23 in Sulphur.
After the death of her mother, she was raised by her grandparents, George P. and Minnie Goulding in Butler. She graduated from Butler High School in 1934. She and Chancie G. Young were married in Russell, Kan., in 1937. During World War II, she worked as riveter at Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City. Later she worked for a manufacturing company that produced the first type of folding carriers that were used by the Humpty Dumpty grocery stores in Oklahoma City. She was married to Wesley Frank Bacon at Oklahoma City on May 16, 1950 and the couple moved to the Dolese Company Housing at Big Canyon near Dougherty. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church where she accepted Christ. She loved to fish in the Washita River and Lake Texoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wesley Frank Bacon on February 21, 1990, two sisters and one brother.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Pruitt, Tulsa and Virginia Akers and her husband, Darrel, Big Canyon; one son Clarence Young, Sulphur; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Ronald Dale Riddle
Graveside services for Ronald Dale Riddle, 60, Sulphur, were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28 in Katie Cemetery, Katie, Okla., with Krien Funeral Home of Sulphur in charge of arrangements.
Born October 24, 1946 in Modesto, Calif., to W.A. and Opal (Moore) Riddle, he died Saturday, Nov. 25.
As a child he lived in various states prior to graduating from high school in New Town, N.D. He worked for Tidewater Oil Company as a mechanic until his illness required him to retire about four years ago. He taught his son, Virgil, how to be a mechanic and enjoyed watching him work.
Surviving are a son, Virgil Riddle and wife, Sandra, Sulphur; two daughters, Robin Sveen, Davis and Angela Burr and husband, Terry, Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Linda Peterson and husband, Larry, Carlsbad, N.M. and four grandchildren, Brent Sveen, Mark Sveen and Brittany Sveen, all of Davis and Christina Thomas, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents

Clifton Caraway
Services for Clifton Caraway, 85, Sulphur, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Ransom officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born January 28, 1921 in Reagan to Alvin Truitt and Nona (Starnes) Caraway, he died Monday, Nov. 27 in Sulphur.
He married Alice Iona Merryman on May 15, 1944 at Tishomingo. He had lived in Johnston and Murray Counties all his life. He worked in the food services division at Sulphur Veterans Center.
A member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, he served in the military during World War II and was wounded in North Africa. He was a member of the American Legion Post 148 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, Iona, Sulphur; two sons, Jerry Caraway and his wife, Lynn, Sulphur and Rick Caraway and his wife, Molly, Garland, Texas; a daughter, Tillie Hartman and her husband, Willie, Guthrie; a brother, A. T. Caraway, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Family members served as pallbearers.

William R. Supernaugh, Jr.
Memorial services for William R. Supernaugh, Jr., 61, Sulphur, will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1 at the Travertine Nature Center in Chickasaw National Recreation Area with Mercer-Adams Funeral Home of Bethany in charge of arrangements.
Born February 17, 1945 in Ajo, Ariz., to William and Anne Supernaugh, he died Monday, Nov. 20 after a valliant batte with cancer.
He had lived in Sulphur earlier in his life during the years of 1954-1956 and attended Sulphur Junior High School.
He lived in Sulphur with his wife and had retired from the National Park Service after 39 years. His father, William R. Supernaugh, was a former superintendent of Chickasaw National Recreation Area, then Platt National Park.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Sigafoos, Sulphur; two daughters, Michelle Torok and husband, Mik, Port Angeles, Wash. and Victoria Human, Thomaston, Ga.; a grandson, James Torok, Port Angeles, Wash; stepchildren Chad and Kate Sigafoos and granddaughter, Amelia, Helena, Mont. and stepson, Kevin Sigafoos, who is in the military in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Linda Supernaugh.

Dillard James
Services for Dillard Black James, 83, Madill, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, at Oakview Baptist Church in Madill with Dr. Alton Fannin, Dr. David James, and Rev. Neil O'Donnell officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Criswell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James died on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at a Durant hospital. He was born September 11, 1923 at home in Murray County to Black and Rebecca Jane Walker James. He was a rancher. He loved God, his family, and his church and was very proud of his Choctaw heritage.
He married Dorothy Mae Vann on October 12, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 30, 1995. He married Louise Cantrell on October 30, 1999, at First Baptist Church in Yale.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, of the home; a daughter, Becky Hoehman and her husband, Odes, Ada; two sons, David James and his wife, Peggy, Bryant, Arkansas; and Tandy James and his wife, Genia, Shawnee; stepdaughter, Sharon Crow and her husband, Ted, Azle, Texas; stepson, Robert Myers and his wife, Victoria, Marshall, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Lynn Hoehman, Sara McGuire and her husband, Derek, Nathan James and his wife, Natalie, Tim Hoehman, Donna Hoehman, Antony Fink and his wife Natalie, and Veronica Moore and her husband, Steve; three great grandchildren, McKenna Ann Fink, Owen Thomas Fink and Kayleigh Anne McGuire; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters, a grandson, Dale Hoehman, and a stepson, Phillip Myers.
Bearers were Dan Orr, Alden Combs, Bill Buck, Burl McDonald, Jim Dugan, Gerald Churchill, Bill Delaney, Frank Heaton, Calvin Harkins, Lewis Barthold and Clifford Boyd.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.

John E. Otis
Graveside services for John E. Otis, 59, Sulphur, were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiant. Services were under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.
Born May 10, 1947 in Sulphur to Florence Pauline and Earl McAllen Otis, he died Monday, Nov. 20. He was a general laborer and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He lived in the Sulphur area most of his life, attending school in Hickory. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl M. Otis, Jr.
Surviving are four brothers, Mike, Sulphur, Leroy, Davis, Bill, Madill and Terry Otis, Hickory; two sisters, Annette Doolan Sulphur and Reba Mae Irwin, Lubbock, Texas.
