Betty Lenora Rogers

Seminole resident Betty Lenora Rogers died Wednesday in Ada. She was 61.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phil Scarbrough officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Mrs. Rogers was born Aug. 2, 1937, in Seminole to John Satawake. She married Will M. Rogers on Jan. 15, 1952, in Okmulgee. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Will M. Rogers, of the home; sons, James Rogers, Shawnee; Tim Rogers, Seminole; John Rogers, Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Donna Cullum and Melissa Sellers Coy, both of Shawnee; brothers, John Satawake, Earlsboro; Jimmy Satawake, Henryetta; sisters, Joy Dye, Earlsboro; Linda Crackel, Shawnee; Bonnie Green, Henryetta.

Maggie Ellen Nichols

Former Seminole resident Maggie Ellen Nichols died Tuesday in Locust Grove. She was 94.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Nichols was born Feb. 22, 1904, in Locust Grove to Emmett D. Fogleman and Cora (Bump) Fogleman. She married Herman E. Nichols on March 11, 1929, in Tahlequah.

She was a homemaker and had lived in the Cromwell and Seminole area for 68 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cromwell.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Linda Nichols, Enid; foster daughter-in-law, Lin Campbell, Bethpage, Tenn.; brother, Glenn "Shooter" Fogleman, Locust Grove; three grandchildren and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son.

Fleady C. Parker

Former area resident Fleady C. Parker of Casper, Wyo., died Monday at the age of 91.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole. Burial will be at Little Cemetery. The Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate.

Fleady C. Heath and her twin sister, Fleecy, were born Feb. 16, 1907, north of Wewoka, Indian Territory, the daughters of Thomas and Leona (Cabe) Heath. They attended school at Twin Oaks along with seven other sets of twins.

Fleady C. Heath married Alton Arthur Parker on May 12, 1927, and was a homemaker. She lived in Oklahoma most of her life, but lived briefly in Illinois and Kansas, and moved to Wyoming in 1993. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Alton Arthur Parker, in 1965; her parents; a grandson, Rocky Parker, three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are four sons, Ace Parker, Casper, Wyo.; Herbert Parker, Goddard, Kan.; Clay Parker, Napa, Calif.; Tom Parker, Hollywood, Calif.; daughter, Christina Fuqua, Riverside, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice in care of Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 710 E. Second St., Casper WY 82601.

Frances A. Block

Frances A. Block of Shawnee died Tuesday at a local nursing home. She was 93.

She was born Aug. 16, 1905, in Harrah, the daughter of George and Martha Block. She attended Harrah High School and was a retail sales clerk at F.W. Woolworth Co. for 40 years.

She was a member of St. Benedict Church Altar Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Helen Hall, and one brother, Louis Block.

Surviving are two sisters, Tollie Block, Mary Hackney, both of Shawnee; nephews and nieces, Richard and Pat Hall, Tulsa; Patrick Hall, Los Angeles; Sherri (Block) and Bob Cato, Watonga, and many other relatives.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Massoth, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Recil L. Stone

Area resident Recil L. Stone of Tecumseh died Tuesday in Shawnee. He was 71.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh with the Rev. Dennis Stone and the Rev. Dale Stone officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery. The casket will be open until 9:45 a.m. and will not be reopened after the service.

Recil L. Stone was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Earlsboro to Austin and Blanche (Montgomery) Stone. He was raised near Earlsboro where he lived with his grandparents, Bob and Sinnie Montgomery, and he attended school at Ruggles. He married Tina Lewis in Texas on Nov. 15, 1947.

He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked at OK Packing Co. and at Tinker Air Force Base before retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Tecumseh First Baptist Church and American Legion Hill-Huett Post of Tecumseh. He was involved in Little League Baseball as coach and umpire and helped build the Jim Baugh Field in Tecumseh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, A.C. Bourland and Buford Bourland.

Surviving are his wife, Tina Stone, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Bonnie Stone, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Thailar Stone, Amber Stone, both of Oklahoma City; brother, Roy Stone, Shawnee; aunt, Emma Adler, Stillwater, and many other relatives.

Jewell Haley

Longtime area resident Jewell Haley of Pink died Tuesday at the age of 94.

She was born July 26, 1904, in Garfield, Ark., the daughter of Jesse and Margaret (Briscoe) Snodgrass. The family moved to Oklahoma and she was reared in the Wellston area.

In 1922 she married Otto Haley in Tecumseh. They lived in Wellston and Seminole and moved to Pink in 1942. She farmed and operated a grocery. She continued to operate the grocery until the early 1990s.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Otto Haley, in 1961; her parents; one son, Forrest Haley; five brothers, Earnest Snodgrass, Lafe Snodgrass, Valcie Snodgrass, Danzil Snodgrass, Claude Snodgrass; three sisters, Maude Alcorn, Beatrice Sealey, Hazel Pullum, and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Haley.

Surviving are her son, Gene Haley, Pink; sister, Johnie Davis, Bethel; daughter-in-law, Pauline Haley, Pink; three grandsons, Bill Haley, Preston Haley, both of Pink, and Kenny and Shirley Haley, Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh with the Rev. Jackson Schoemaker officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Sherri Fowler Breshears

Former area resident Sherri Fowler Breshears of Garland, Texas, died Sept. 10 at the age of 47.

She was born in Chandler and had lived in Garland for 29 years. She was a teacher's aide at Sam Houston Middle School for five years and was a Baptist.

She is survived by her children, Kristi and Brad Breshears, and their father, Don Breshears, all of Garland, Texas; her mother, Gerry Fowler, Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Velma and Bill Green, Sandra and Carl Linduff, all of Garland, Texas; Susan and Emmitt Hale, Shawnee; Janice Fowler, Shawnee, and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde A. Fowler, and her brother, Clyde A. Fowler Jr.

Services were Monday at Williams Funeral Directors in Garland, Texas, with burial in Shawnee. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Martin Reed Robertson

Kendrick resident Martin Reed Robertson died Wednesday in Chandler. He was 79.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Stroud, with the Rev. Darrell Robinson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Mount Washington Cemetery, Lenapah, Okla.

Robertson was born April 13, 1919, in Porum to Thomas A. and Pearl (Davis) Robertson. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Navy.

He retired from the Department of Labor as a mine inspector. He had been a resident of Kendrick since 1980.

Survivors include his sons, Charles Robertson, Inola; George Robertson, Wellington, Kan.; Ronald Robertson, Salisbury, N.C.; Martin Robertson II, Kendrick; brothers, Tommy Robertson, Wichita, Kan.; Jim Robertson, Owasso; sisters, Gladys Loghry and Sue Fair, both of Wichita, Kan.; Melva Robertson, Bartlesville; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
