Keith Pearce

Shawnee resident Keith Pearce died Sunday in Shawnee. He was 94.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, with Bob Anderson officiating.

Pearce was born May 31, 1904, in Floydada, Texas, to Theophilos Ragsdale "T.R." and Georgie May Pearce. He married Fern Murphy on Dec. 20, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Pearce graduated from Floydada High School and worked in civil service for the Army and Navy in Corpus Christi Naval Air Station from 1940 until he retired in 1974.

He also owned and operated a television repair shop in Corpus Christi for three years. He moved to Shawnee in 1995.

He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Southminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Virginia Claudine Pearce, Tecumseh; granddaughter, Heather D. Pearce, Louisiana; and great-grandson, Bryan Eugene Sharp, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, on June 14, 1993; his parents and his brother Wiley Bob Pearce.

Helen Ware

Tecumseh resident Helen Ware died Saturday in Shawnee. She was 67.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Bill Yardy officiating.

Ware was born Jan. 22, 1931, in Lawton to Jonas and Leona (Raywalt) Beene. She married Jack Ware on April 3, 1948, in Shawnee.

Ware attended school in Tribbey and Shawnee and worked as a provider for the Department of Human Services. She also worked as a clerk at Lantz Drug. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Shawnee.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Ware, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Lonnie Shirey, Earlsboro; Linda and Gary Maston, Shawnee; Rena and Donnie Batt, Tecumseh; daughter, Lena Faye Ware, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Dena Ware, Tecumseh; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Bivins, Shawnee; brothers, William Beene, Wewoka; James Beene, Arkansas; and six half-brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, one daughter-in-law and one sister.

Sharon Kay Balentine

Shawnee resident Sharon Kay Balentine died Monday at a local hospital. She was 44.

Mrs. Balentine was born July 19, 1954, in Seminole to Carl and Bertha Worley. She married Arvil Balentine on Sept. 3, 1986, in Gainesville, Texas.

She attended Shawnee Schools and was a member of South Rock Creek Assembly of God Church and the Omega Alpha Ministry.

Survivors include her husband, Arvil Balentine of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Suzette Hopkins, DuPont, Wash., and Shane and Jill Balentine, Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Joe Payne, Tecumseh, Misty and Leonard Herrera and Rachel and Adam McHolland, all of Oklahoma City; daughter, April Balentine, Shawnee; nine grandchildren; and her parents, Carl and Bertha Worley, Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at South Rock Creek Assembly of God Church with Doby Williams officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Andrew Columbus

Andrew Columbus, 80, Shawnee, died Monday in a Midwest City hospital.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery. Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel is in charge.

He was born March 17, 1918, in Lawton to Abraham and Mary Columbus. He was reared and attended schools in Sapulpa. He was an electrician for Presto Lite Battery, Inc., in Oklahoma City retiring in 1980.

He married Carmel Vasquez in Norman on Nov. 9, 1940. He served in the United States Army as a Tec 5 during WWII in Europe. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the V.F.W. He had lived in Shawnee since 1940.

He is survived by his wife, Carmel Columbus of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Velia and Jerry Heller, Tulsa, Carmelita and Asa Duncan, North Richland Hills, Texas, Loretta and Vance Windsor, Blue Mound, Texas, and Elizabeth and Jack Columbus-Wall, New Carlisle, Ind.; son, Daniel Joe Columbus, Shawnee; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Sara Esclante, Topeka, Kan., and two brothers, George Columbus, Shawnee, and Joe Columbus, Plano, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andrew Columbus, Jr.; two grandchildren; three brothers, Abraham, Henry and Clarence Columbus; and sister Stella Ceballus.

Deborah K. (Shipp) Correll

Deborah K. (Shipp) Correll, 48, died April 24, in Oklahoma City at the age of 48.

She was a graduate of Bethel High School and Oklahoma State University, where she earned a bachelor's and master's degree.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith Mortuary. Burial will be at Pocassett Cemetery, Pocassett, Okla.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Correll; daughters, Jessica and Jerrisa Landry; son and daughter-in-law, Justus and Tammy Correll; grandchildren, Madison, Riley and Elisha; step-children, Dawn, D.J. and JoLinda Correll; parents, Orin and Evelyn Shipp; sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Cary Kramer; nephew, Chay Kramer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary/South in Oklahoma City.

Billy Allen Hoffman

Billy Allen Hoffman of Nae Dong Seoul So-Gu, Taejon, Korea, died April 13 in Taegu, Korea. He was 65.

Hoffman was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Shidler, Okla., to Joe Silas and Murlie Jane (Forster) Hoffman, formerly of Prague.

He retired from the United States Army and was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Yong Hye Hoffman, Korea; sons, Korus Hoffman, New Orleans, La., Joe Dean Hoffman, Billy "Gene" Hoffman and Bobby Hoffman; daughter, Mary Hoffman; and brother, Joe Elvan Hoffman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Marvin Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Prague Cemetery.

Freda Elaine Levisay

Meeker resident Freda Elaine Levisay died Monday in Oklahoma City. She was 69.

Mrs. Levisay was born March 18, 1930, in Sparks, Okla., to John E. and Leona Pearl (Acord) Patterson. She married Claude Levisay on Nov. 30, 1946, in Sparks.

She worked as a cafeteria cook in the Sparks and Meeker public schools for 12 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Levisay of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Dwain Brown, Jean and Jerry Webb and Marilyn and Johnnie Kimbley, all of Meeker; mother, Pearl Patterson, Chandler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Mary Patterson, Chandler, and Don and Alice Patterson, Sparks; sister, Carol Ward, Chandler; granddaughters and their spouses, Valerie and Kevin McAnally and April and Steve Frazier; granddaughter, Jennifer Kimbley; grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Kevin and Billy Sue Armitage, Eric Brown, Jason Webb and Jeremy Webb; five great-grandchildren, Kiley, Jamie, Derek and Matt McAnally and Austin Frazier.

She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Tommy; and one son, Claude Calvin Levisay Jr.

Viewing and visitation will be until 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker. The family will greet friends 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, with the Rev. Michael Hamm and the Rev. Paul Hutchison officiating.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Sparks or to the Baptist Children's Fund.

Linda Knight

Spencer resident Linda Knight died Sunday. She was 47.

Mrs. Knight was born April 16, 1952, in Midwest City to Luther J. and Ruth (Britton) Edwards. She married Ronald D. Knight on July 7, 1972, in Shawnee.

She moved to Spencer in 1998 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park. She graduated from Wright Business School where she studied information management.

Survivors include her husband, Ron, of the home; three sons, Travis, Stephen and Roger, all of the home; parents, Luther and Ruth Edwards, Prague; one brother, Benny Edwards, Tecumseh; five sisters, Connie Thompson, Prague, Dora Burchett, Chandler, Jackie Sisson, Paoli, Lola Jamison, Denton, Texas, and Viola Wishon, Bethany; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two nieces, Patricia and Stephanie Thompson.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park. Burial will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Homes, Inc.
