Frederick Daniel Frey

Prague resident Frederick Daniel Frey died Wednesday in Oklahoma City at the age of 77.

He was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Pawhuska, the son of Daniel Davis and Cassandra Amanda (Wrenchey) Frey. He was a retired truck driver and had lived in Prague for 14 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Maxine Cole in Sudan, Kan., on May 5, 1944.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Frey and Jess Frey, and a grandson, Johnnie Alan Bond Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Frey, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Donna Frey, Prague; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Neal Puckett, Golden, Mo.; Cassie and John Putney, Blanchard; Maxine and Johnnie Bond, Donna Gile, all of Prague; brothers, Jim O. Frey, Washington; Joseph L. Frey, Oklahoma City; Leonard Frey, Gordon Frey, both of Pawhuska; George Frey, Montana; sisters, Dorthy Knarr, Deloris Neese, both of Washington, 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. at Paden Cemetery with the Rev. Starland Davis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Prague.

Marie Lane

Longtime McLoud resident Marie Lane died Tuesday in Oklahoma City. She was 71.

She was born Jan. 31, 1927, in Seminole County to Claude and Ada Richards. She was raised and attended school in the Bethel area.

She married Teddy Lane on March 17, 1947, in Shawnee and was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day.

Survivors include her husband, Teddy Lane, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Gene Milliser, Cabot, Ark.; grandson and his spouse, Chris and Michelle Brown, McLoud; two great-grandsons; five brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one great-grandson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Steve Kurtright and Ernie Riner officiating. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery.

Nell Eckert

Graveside services for former Shawnee resident Nell Eckert, 93, who died Monday in a Florida nursing home, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Resthaven Memorial Park, with the Rev. Karen Fowler-Lindemulder officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Pensacola, Fla., with Dr. Rush Otey officiating.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Peace or to the Council on Aging in Pensacola, Fla.

Lucy Bolton Arnold

Lucy Bolton Arnold, 92, Shawnee, died Tuesday in a local hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1905, in Pawnee County to Albert Emer and Cora Ellen (Jackson) Carver.

She attended Pawnee High School and Oklahoma State University. She married Evert T. Bolton on Dec. 24, 1925, in Pawnee. After his death, she married Thomas Oscar Arnold on Feb. 16, 1966, in Sapulpa.

She taught school from 1923 to 1925 and owned a tailoring school in Pawnee from 1926 to 1928. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1929, to Shawnee in 1936, to Seminole in 1966, and returned to Shawnee in 1984.

She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Eastern Star No. 43, and United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son James E. Bolton; son-in-law Robert A. Tyler; two brothers, one sister; and stepdaughter Edna Mae Bristow.

She is survived by daughter Dorothy Tyler, Shawnee; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Linda and Bufore White, Shawnee; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Paul and Carol Ann Tyler, Shawnee; stepchildren Leonard and Bea Arnold, George and Flonetta Arnold, Bobby Arnold, Hazel Rush, and Martha Faye Kerns; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Rusty Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Thomas George Larney

Former Seminole County resident Thomas George Larney, 68, Oklahoma City, died Tuesday at his home.

He was born on July 19, 1930, in Seminole County to Solomon and Susanna (Choharjo) Larney. He was a retired welder who had worked at numerous California shipyards. He was a member of Hitchitee United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Carla Larney.

Survivors include five sons, Thomas George Larney Jr., Seminole; Travis Larney, Oklahoma City; Sonny Larney, Seminole; Simon Larney, Seminole; and Michael Larney, Seminole; two daughters, Susanna Larney, Oklahoma City, and Rebecca Larney, Arkansas; one brother, Lee Larney, Shawnee; sister Mary Jean Larney, Konawa; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hitchitee United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hitchitee Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Rose Kubiak

Rose Kubiak, 95, Harrah, died Wednesday.

She was born Feb. 1, 1903, in Bremond, Texas, to Thomas and Jospehine Stramski Visniski.

She moved to Harrah as a small child. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Curt and Pearl Kubiak, Spencer, and Tim and Velma Kubiak, Eufaula; daughters and sons-in-law Rose Mary and James Gordon, Del City; Trudy and Woody Hurley, Del City; and Ann and Ralph Jones, Choctaw; two sisters, Katie Breske and Pauline Meyer; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the same location. Burial will be in St. Teresa's Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.

Jack Flovin

Jack Flovin, 78, Houston, Texas, died Sunday.

He was born July 7, 1920, in Eastland, Texas, to Walter Theo and Helen Margaret Egerhart Flovin. He married Rosemary Ricks of Tecumseh.

He served in the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a member of the Canterbury United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jacquelin Kay and Charles Hawley, California, and Catherine Mary and William Norman, Brenham, Texas; sister Mildred Bates, South Carolina; grandson Lance Cpl. William R. Norman III, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, LeAnn and John Luna, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Hamilton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Canterbury United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.

Jewel Hedges

Jewel Hedges, 95, Wewoka, died Sunday in a Wewoka nursing home.

He was born on April 3, 1903, in Hayti, Mo. He married Hazel Rita Presley on Feb. 14, 1946, in Seminole. He worked as an oilfield driller in the British Honduras and later worked in gas stations. He was a member of Ideal Street Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, of the nursing home; son Pete Hedges, California; daughter Judy Beasley, Arizona; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Seminole, with the Rev. Glen Williams officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Ernest A. Prudhom

Former Shawnee resident Ernest A. "Ernie" Prudhom died Wednesday at his home in Edmond. He was 73.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Dr. Mack Roark officiating, assisted by Dr. Bert Potts. Burial will be 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City. The casket will remain open until the services and will not be opened after the service.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Lung Association, 2442 N. Walnut, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73105.

Prudhom was born April 25, 1925, in the Panama Canal Zone, to Charlie and Leah Prudhom. He graduated from Bryant College in Providence, R.I., with a degree in accounting in 1953.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and married Esther Drew on Feb. 15, 1947, in the Panama Canal Zone. He joined Sylvania Electric Company as a cash accountant in Titusville, Pa., and during the next decade he held a number of positions in the parts division plants in York and Warren, Pa.

In 1964, he was in charge of the Orlando, Fla., sales office with marketing responsibilities for a seven-state area.

In 1966, he was named plant manager for the newly re-opened manufacturing plant in Shawnee, and in 1971, he became part owner of the J.A. Runge Company in Seminole.

Prudhom joined Oklahoma Baptist University staff as a controller in 1979. Upon his retirement from OBU in 1989, he was assistant vice president for business affairs.

He was a former member of the boards of Bison Federal Credit Union and the Federal National Bank, which is currently BancFirst in Shawnee. He was also a member of the State Board of Education and the Governor's Committee for Employment of the Handicapped. He was currently a member of the Quail Springs United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Esther of the home; three children, Terri Ritchey of Littleton, Colo., Tom and Ernie Prudhom, both of Edmond; six grandchildren, Paige West, Kristin, Jennifer, Christopher, Tommy and Dustin Prudhom.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
