Mildred Bernice Frost

Mildred Bernice Frost, 65, Seminole, died Friday at home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Little Cemetery, with Rusty Dawson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1932, in Sperry to James Oscar and Mary Alene (Frazier) Enslow. She married J.C. Frost on June 24, 1949, in Seminole. She was the owner and operator of Millie's Beauty Shop for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Don E. Enslow.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mary and Marvin Wilson; her husband, of the home; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Wyly Kenneda, Edmond; brother Gene Enslow, Pawhuska; and two grandchildren, Wyla Kenneda Jr., Bethany, and Kyle Dean Kenneda, Edmond.

Stoney Neil Southern

Stoney Neil Southern, 20, Seminole, died Thursday near Earlsboro.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole, with the Rev. Kenneth Mulkey officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemtery.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1977, in Seminole to Neil Allen Southern and Kathy Sue (Watson). He was employed as a tree cutter for three years at Aspland, and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church at Letha.

He was preceded in death by his father and both grandfathers.

He is survived by his mother, Seminole; wife Angel Dialene Phillips, of the home; daughter Danaca SuMarie Southern, of the home; paternal grandmother, Thelma Grant, Seminole; maternal grandmother, Juanita Renton, Seminole; brother Neil Allen Southern Jr., Lake Butler, Fla.; and sister Shana Nicole Southern, Seminole.

Leona Gertrude Loy

Leona Gertrude Loy, 91, died Friday in Meeker.

She was born in Tribbey on March 10, 1907, to Rufus J. and Margaret (Denton) Aker. She married Daniel C. Loy and had worked as a cook for Chandler Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Meeker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, her husband, a daughter, six brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Fudge and Ruthie Richardson and Bob and Jeri Richardson, all of Visalia, Calif.; Flavious and Lorene Richardson, Hobart; Roy and Sharon Loy, Meeker; and Joe and Peggy Sue Loy, Blanchard; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, John and Dottie Loy, Harrisburg, Ill., and Elsworth and Florence Loy, Fresno, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Imogene and George Moody, Ore City, Texas; three sisters, Juanita Shannon, Wanette; Ellen Spradlin, Homeland, Calif.; and Zella Campbell, Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Meeker, with Rev. Ham officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Meeker. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Floyd Stretch

Floyd Stretch, 80, Shawnee, died Friday at his home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Goins. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

He was born May 29, 1918, in Joplin, Mo., to Robert and Ollie Stretch. He moved to Inola shortly after his birth, and he attended Sand Springs Grade School. He graduated from Earlsboro High School.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 until his retirement in 1966. He was a member of the Shawnee Masonic Composite Lodge No. 107 and the McAlester Consistory, and he was a Shriner.

He is survived by three children, Charles Glenn Stretch and Frances Joyce Anderson, both of Kirkland, Wash., and Floyd Marion Stretch, Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gred George Stretch.

Naomi Louise Townsend

Naomi Louise Townsend, 76, Shawnee, died Friday at a local hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Vista Cemetery, Asher.

She was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Chickasha to Jim and Julia Graham. She moved to Earlsboro in 1925 and to Shawnee in 1936.

She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1939 and married Robert Townsend in Shawnee on Jan. 8, 1940. She worked for Sears for 14 years and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; daughter Bobbie Kaye Twedt, Shawnee; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Kim and Greg Rodgers, Shawnee; great-grandson Evan Rodgers, Shawnee; sister-in-law Stachia Bumpus, Edmond; brother-in-law Dee Gilbert, Fairfax; brother-in-law Bill Townsend, Oklahoma City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Doris Townsend, Ft. Worth, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.

Velma Napoleon

Earlsboro resident Velma Napoleon died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 82.

Mrs. Napoleon was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Mississippi. She married Fred Napoleon in 1932 in Boley.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Seminole County for 50 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Earlsboro.

Survivors include six sons, Spencer Napoleon, Madera, Calif.; John Napoleon and Alvin Napoleon, both of Kansas City, Kan.; Bobby Napoleon, Shawnee; Theodore Napoleon, San Jose, Calif.; Willie Napoleon, Holdenville; seven daughters, Letha Rivers, Tecumseh; Helen Hall, Oklahoma City; Eudell Napoleon, Wyomia Reeves and Debra Teal, all of Shawnee; Hazel Keesee, New Lima; Ernestine Gordon, Wewoka; two brothers, Joe Tallie, Shawnee; Lee Tallie, Iowa; one sister, Mae Norman, Earlsboro; 47 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on Dec. 8, 1992; and her son, Fred Napoleon Jr.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Baptist Church, Earlsboro, with the Rev. Michael B. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Leta Raye (Harvey) Dayhuff-Tindall

Former Oklahoma City resident Leta Raye (Harvey) Dayhuff-Tindall of Goddard, Kan., died Monday in a Wichita, Kan., hospital. She was 83.

She was born Dec. 30, 1915, in Goodwell, Okla., to Elbert and Anna (Schwenke) Harvey. She attended Hennessey Schools, graduating in 1933.

She married Harold Dayhuff in 1936 in Enid, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1968. She and her second husband, Jess Tindall, moved from Wichita, Kan., to Oklahoma City in 1975. He also preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a retired Cessna Aircraft Co. secretary and moved to back to Kansas in 1996, living at Medicalodge of Goddard, Kan.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City, and St. John's Episcopal Church in Wichita, Kan.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Kenneth Morava of Oklahoma City; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Pam Dayhuff of Goddard, Kan.; grandchildren, Kim Morava of Shawnee; Stephanie Morava of Moore; Jeff and wife, Siobhan, Morava of Oklahoma City; Julie Dayhuff and fiancee, Adam Achey, of Goddard, Kan., and Clint Dayhuff of Goddard, Kan; three sisters and their families, Louise Martinez of Mulvane, Kan.; Inez Boydston of Tucson, Ariz.; Betty Frederick of Soloman, Kan.; special friend, Sterling, resident of Medicalodge; several nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.

Graveside services were held Thursday at Mulvane Cemetery in Mulvane, Kan., with the Rev. Earl M. Fine officiating. Services were under the direction of Resthaven Mortuary of Wichita, Kan.

Francis Henry Coates

Francis Henry "Hank" Coates, 49, Shawnee, died Wednesday at home.

Coates was born Nov. 13, 1949, in Henryetta to Frank and Mary Coates. He moved with his parents to Tonkawa in 1952 and graduated from Tonkawa High School in 1968.

Coates entered the Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy before he left the military in 1974. In 1978, he earned an associate degree of science in horticulture from Oklahoma State University Technical Institute.

Coates moved to Shawnee in 1991 and opened Uncle Henry's Landscape. He was a member of the Oklahoma Turfgrass Research Foundation for 17 years, was a Boy Scout leader and served on the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and Agricultural Committee.

He was honored in Who's Who Worldwide Registry of Global Business Leaders. He also taught at Gordon Cooper Technology Center.

Survivors include his wife, Lori; son, Nathan; stepchildren, Mark Hyde II and Heather Hyde, both of Shawnee; mother, Mary Haney and stepfather, Wendell Haney, both of Ponca City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Maureen Coates, Ponca City; Randy and Bonnie Coates, Tonkawa; father and mother-in-law, Jim and LaRuth Smith, Oklahoma City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Claire Smith Jr. and Joe and Debbie Smith, all of Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Coates; grandfather, Floyd Coates; grandmother, Ruth Coates; grandfather, Newton "Doc" Lockwood; and grandmother, Helen Lockwood.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home Chapel in Tonkawa. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Tonkawa. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.
